Juqi is a Beijing-style Chinese restaurant in Flushing. The ambience is very beautiful inside with Chinese decorations. Quick and kind, very attentive service. I was really impressed at how clean the food tasted and how the ingredients really shined. The sesame cabbage, Chinese broccoli, and fried eggplant were some of my favorite dishes - I think their vegetable dishes really shine here. The braised pork belly and peking duck were good! Not my favorite, the duck was presented very beautifully and I enjoyed the wraps and variety of fillings - unique and unlike other peking duck places I have had before.
Good service and clean environment. Peking duck skin not crispy enough and prefer buns rather than wraps. The wrap was too thick and pretty tasteless. Love they reuse the bone to make another dish either stir fry, salt & pepper or soup. We chose soup which was a light end to meal. Lamb cumin was definitely the better dish in my opinion. Should order side of rice because it's a flavor bomb. Get mild spicy if you can't handle spice. Also ordered sour cabbage which might be too sour for some people. It helped cut through the heaviness of meats. Overall worth the try but wont come back.

I make sure to come here every time I'm in the area (last time was 4 years ago). Taste and quality are great and consistent with what I remember and each dish is beautifully presented. Servers are attentive and made sure to ask about any dietary restrictions. Restaurant has lots of memorabilia on display which is interesting to peruse.
After having a not-so-great lunch today at a nearby Chinese restaurant down the block, I said to myself, "Why not make it better by having a second lunch at Juqi?" I was craving wheat gluten, so we decided to stop in--and I'm so glad we did! We were seated immediately upon walking in. I ordered the Braised Wheat Gluten with Shrimp and a white rice, while Hubby had the homemade dumplings. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, but my wheat gluten dish truly stood out! It was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I had been craving. The entire team was professional, friendly, and welcoming. Selena was especially outstanding--she was warm and courteous and made us feel very well taken care of throughout our meal. Needless to say, we left happy and completely satisfied. It was the perfect way to turn a disappointing lunch into a much better dining experience. We're so glad we came here for our second lunch!
We waited 40 minutes for our Beijing duck to arrive. There was no communication, the service is really slow.
Juqi is an upscale Chinese spot in the Tangram mall with a huge menu and flavorful dishes! To get in the waitlist, you can use Minitable or sign up on the iPad with the hostess. The inside decor is super nice and reminds me of places like CheLi and Szechuan Mountain House so it's great for a nice dinner out. I did also see they had a ton of private room space in the back for events. We tried a few dishes here but my favorite was the Royal Style Barbeque Lamb! The portion was huge with the meat being super juicy, tender, flavorful and had a mild spiciness to it.
I think this place totally lives up to the hype!! delicious duck and non duck dishes!! best to go in a group to order a lot and def make a res!
Came here again with a larger party. We booked a private room this time for a party of 10. The space is great, especially with kids who like to get out of their seats. The room was very quiet, almost too quiet; great for our family get together where conversation is to be had - but I can imagine that it can be awkwardly quiet. Food is solid once again. Duck is excellent, but was not the highlight. My favorite dish has to be the eggplant, so not skip! The Boston lobster was prepared to perfection. Stone crab disappeared the moment it was set down. My kids loved the fried fish and the fried shrimp. Service was excellent. The seats in the private room are very grand wooden chairs, not the most comfortable, it they are an incredible statement piece to the room. Definitely recommend private room for big parties. Spending minimum is around $750 I think?
Back again to this absolutely delicious Beijing-style Chinese food! The Peking duck is the star , they bring the whole duck to the table and carve it right in front of you. The skin is incredibly crispy, and you wrap the tender slices in thin pancakes with cucumber and that delicious sauce. So good! There are tons of other dishes to choose from, the staff is wonderful, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Definitely a place I would come back to again and again. Highly recommend
4 stars for overall service and food. The ordering on the iPad was interesting as the menu was in Chinese. Thankful for the one line descriptions and photos to match. This hot spot, located on the first floor of Tangram Mall, is bustling with crowds on the weekends. They do not take reservations unless you want to book the private rooms or The Birdcage. There is a minimum spend to be in each room so choose wisely. The room we were seated in had a minimum spend of $500. Before you confirm your order, a staff member needs to come by and re-confirm your order, especially to ensure you spent the minimum. There were some very unique dishes and curiosity got the better of us - a few were hit or miss. The misses: hot mustard with cabbage, it was a spicy mustard (like wasabi kind of dry heat, where the heat clears your sinuses). And there was way too much mustard in general, on top. The other dish that was almost a miss, the plum cherry tomatoes. The tomatoes were sweet but skin was still on so the plum brine doesn't absorb too much into the tomato. This is an overall refreshing dish for the summer months since it's served cold. The hits: that full portion of Peking duck served in a fancy presentation like a jewelry trunk with drawers. Each compartment or drawer held a treasure to speak. The cut up duck meat, super moist, the garnish of julienned cucumbers and scallions, the delicious sauce and the fabulous crispy duck skin served over toast and topped with caviar. It was a sight indeed. Beautiful presentation. I also enjoyed the King Crab, this 4 pound beauty was cooked and served two ways. First, steamed crab meat legs with steamed eggs on a large plate. The second method was a stir-fry of more cut crab pieces. Well seasoned and tasted like a mixture of Old Bay seasoning and spices. The other favorite of the night was the pork meatball. While only one serving ordered, we managed to break it up with a spoon and everyone got to try it. The other stand out dish was the brisket and beef tendon. Very saucy and tender. I would have wanted to try their fish dishes but all were spicy or marked with a red pepper icon. Since it's a Beijing style menu, I would presume too spicy for my taste. The coolest feature of being in the private room, the motorized lazy Susan and of course, having privacy. Made our birthday banquet much more enjoyable so that we didn't have to sit in the loud, main dining area.
Ambiance , service and seating was excellent! My family treated me to Peking Duck, Royal lamb barbecue, Organic Cauliflower with spicy pork belly, Peking Duck soup, Braised Tofu with seafood including fish, shrimp, Calamari . Food was spectacular
Located in flushing within a mall, this might have been one of the top restaurants in NYC that I have been to, and am looking forward to coming again. There was a long wait as we put our names down for a party of four, but there is a lot to do in the mall as you wait. Our party of four was able to get seated on a Sunday afternoon after about 30 mins or so. The indoors is very well decorated and it has a nice dimly lit atmosphere. Something this place does do really well is the plating and presentation. Our first appetizer were these shrimp balls and they served 9 items on this really stunning tree holder. We ordered pork, some boiled bok choi, and Peking duck. I think in NYC this was the best Peking duck experiences I have had. They provided a large variety of toppings more than just the basic green onions. They ask if you want the bones boiled or fried afterwards. They provide a large amount of wraps for you to enjoy, and the duck was prepared beautifully. Now this place does get pricey but my friends and I loved our visit. They show you how to make each roll, they provide plastic gloves are you prep the duck rolls. Will definitely plan to come back, every thing we ate was fantastic and we had a great time. It does get a bit pricey however.
Note: Juqi is located inside the Tangram mall. Wow, this place is incredible. Came for lunch on a Sunday and our party of 4 only waited for about 20 mins. We ordered: + juqi signature duck (half) + Juqi fried rice + eggplant of that autumn year + Sliced beef in chili oil + Homemade pancake + Cabbage The sliced beef and pancake were my absolute favorite bites. The chili oil that the beef was in was incredible - we were dipping everything in it. The eggplant was particularly good when dipped in it. Would also recommend the signature duck and cabbage. The only miss was the rice, which had fun presentation (they set it on fire) but tasted meh. read more

Love the vibe here, got a very nice old school Chinese decorations. We got their half pecking duck and you can choose to deep fry the bones or turn them to soup for free. We tried both and we prefer the soup~ the duck is nice and crispy and I enjoyed wrapping it with the pancake compared to the bao buns like most restaurants serve it. We also got the seafood vermicelli, it has so much flavor! We also got some flapjack thing that has intestines in it which was yummy but it has a lot of hard dough like thing inside.... We ended up not finishing it. The lucky bag was very fun with the the dried ice. It is a nice cold appetizer. The servers are all very nice and they show you how to wrap the duck. read more

Overall great food! The mashed potato was super interesting with the combination of kewpie sesame sauce. I never thought of combining those two together and it is delicious. The napa cabbage with sesame sauce is good too, though that sauce is not as good as kewpie. I like how crunchy the napa cabbage is tho. Mapo tofu is kinda spicy for me. Beef tomato soup is good; taste wise it is like the standard tomato soup. The Juqi fried rice portion is huge, and it is made with nếp cẩm I think. The duck feels kinda a waste of money because we paid $1xx for the whole duck but they only gave us the skin and a little bit of meat. This mall has a lot of dining options, but the SO and I wanted to try this place due to its rating and reviews. We enjoyed the peking duck along with various sides. The cabbage was seasoned with soy and sesame oil and was delicious! We also had the fried tofu and the cold noodle with celery, cucumber and bean sprouts...both were tasty! We were in the Private VIP room in the back which was awesome. We just had to press a button and the servers came asap. The presentation was spectacular but I feel like there are some places that have better quality food. I definitely think this experience was so worth it and I would go again if I was visiting or showing friends around. Its tucked inside a little mall and we were able to do a little shopping before our reservation as well. I think theres a minimum we had to pay for our room but it was not hard to exceed with our party of 10+. This was definitely one of the highlights from my trip! Must do at least once!!! read more

I came to Juqi for the half duck set after hearing a few people mention it as a solid Peking duck spot in Flushing. It didn't disappoint. The duck was definitely the highlight--crispy skin, tender meat, and nicely balanced fat. It was carved table-side, which added a bit of flair, and came with all the traditional fixings: pancakes, scallions, cucumber, and hoisin. Everything was fresh and well-prepared, though not necessarily mind-blowing. Still, it hit the spot. The restaurant itself is pretty sleek for the area--clean, well-lit, and spacious. Service was efficient, if a little no-frills, which is fine by me. All in all, if you're craving Peking duck and don't feel like dealing with the Manhattan scene, Juqi's a reliable option. Not life-changing, but very satisfying. I'd come back, maybe to try the full duck next time. read more

Last August, we went to this place for peking duck. We got half order of the Juqi signature peking duck, juqi fried rice, and red bean cake. The peking duck was a total disappointment. Might be because we just ordered half of a duck but it was really dry. They didn't even carve it in front of us. I enjoyed the flaming pre-show of the juqi fried rice but I found the rice to be very oily. The red bean cake looked like pieces of a Chinese chess game. It looked cute but the taste was meh. read more

Been here a few times and the food has been consistently good. The past couple times, service was very attentive. But this time, I had to ask for things multiple times. We ordered the whole Peking duck which consisted of multi courses. The duck to brought table side and is carved in front of you. They will ask you if you want to take the duck bones home or if you want them to make soup with it. We always opted for the soup. It's very flavorful and peppery. Other recommendations is the charcoal fried rice which has a nice presentation for the table. If you like lamb, their cumin stir fried lamb is another popular dish that is full of flavor. The fried Lychee shrimp balls and fried eggplant were amazingly good. My 4 yr old daughter who is the pickiest eater loved the lychee shrimp balls and kept asking for more. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made online. read more

As someone who grew up in Beijing, I'm usually very picky about Beijing-style food, but this place really delivered. The mustard duck feet were excellent -- tender, flavorful, with a well-balanced wasabi kick. The lu zhu was also very authentic, with a rich broth and clean ingredients. The ambiance is casual and comfortable, very much like a traditional Beijing-style restaurant, which adds to the overall experience. Service was friendly and attentive, and food came out promptly. No reservation...just walked in on the earlier side of a Monday afternoon. Juqi has been on my list for quite some time because I just love duck. Peking duck is one of my favorite meals to have and Juqi is known for having some of the best duck. Located in Tangram mall, this space is deceiving. There is ample amount of seating with VIP rooms including a bird cage where you can dine in. We had dumplings and an order of the half duck. We didn't get the caviar or the presentation, but I ain't mad about it! The duck was incredible. You know when you're so full but you can't stop yourself because it's just that good. I kept going back for more. We did get a table-side tutorial on how to make a proper portion with the pancake, but after a while we just did our own thing. You also get to choose what you want to do with the bones and left over after. You can get it in a soup or fried. We went with the fried, which was incredible itself. It's simply fried with salt, pepper and what I undertake to be cumin. Absolutely amazing. I hear the soup is just as good if not better. Service was so good, only they aren't that friendly rather they are straight to business, which is delicious duck. And I can appreciate that. Here's to Juqi and another great spot in Tangram. read more

Came here as a party of 4 on a Monday night and we were probably one of the last seatings of the night. The signature peking duck which is what they are famous for was not crispy, fatty, tasteless and tbh an absolute miss for us. Their fried eggplant was cut so thin and so heavily breaded my husband mistakenly thought it was fried fish. Their braised pig stomach was probably the dish I enjoyed the most but it was very pricey for a small pot that was mixed with dried tofu. Their dan dan noodles was too "beany" for my taste and not saucy enough to mix with the noodles. We ordered a few more dishes but nothing was memorable and overall too expensive for mediocre food. I don't think we will come back for another try. read more

Delicious, beautifully presented Peking duck. We ordered: -whole Peking duck in treasure chest: came with duck skin on toast topped with caviar, whole sliced Peking duck with wrappers and toppings (scallion, sugar, sauce, cantaloupe) and your choice of what to do with the duck bones. I chose the soup which came with some duck bones and tofu. -seafood vermicelli: tasty and had tons of seafood. Loved the celery in this dish. Service was really good. Great place to bring your family for a nice dinner. Would definitely come back again! One of my top places for Peking duck! read more

Love this spot though front desk and reservations here are always a mess. Even if you make a reservation, expect to wait at least 15-30min. I also tried calling once and someone who called herself "Hot Pot" told me they couldn't take my res (for 4 people) and that they'd "definitely have seats", but when we arrived, they told us it was completely reserved.. Putting all this frustration aside, the food is pretty and very tasty. I really like the shrimp "lychee" balls (called that bc of the shape not bc there is any fruit in it), jajangmian and their fried eggplant. They're known for their peking duck which I can't eat bc I'm pescatarian but my fam likes. It comes with the thin skin wrap which is rare in the US and I felt teleported back to Asia. Overall very yummy but don't come expecting great service. read more

Located in the new shopping center at Flushing, Juqi servers upscale Chinese classics with great service. I would recommend making a reservation before you go since this place is still quite popular, but going early and putting your name down is also a viable option. We ordered: * Okra In Garlic Sauce - 9/10: delicious okra dish that really highlights the vegetable * Mustardy Chinese Cabbage - 9/10: this ones probably more of an acquired taste since it's very horseradish-y, but I really enjoyed it * Signature Peking Duck - 10/10: the start of the show, the skin was crispy and the meat was juicy and delicious * Smoked Pork Knuckles - 10/10: just as good as the duck which was a surprise to me * Mashed Potato - 5/10: I think people just order this because it looks cute, but it doesn't taste that great * Squid Ink Fried Rice - 8/10: not pictured, but they set it ablaze which looks cool - the fried rice itself was solid Definitely worth trying out if you're in the area, just make to sure to plan ahead since it's very popular! read more

Came here for my birthday and it was great! It wasn't excellent like omg but it was def great. We had the crispy tofu which I liked a lot! The beef was eh, can def skip as it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The chicken was amazing and I would def order again. Peking duck was good and they come with soup as well for the left over bones! The fried rice was pretty standard and all in all I was satisfied but want wowed. The service was great and the decor was spacious. Def great for parties or 4! read more

The service here is extremely attuned, quick, and friendly; by far the best factor that contributed to our enjoyment of the meal! Beautiful ambiance and they have multiple private dining rooms too that has very pretty interior designs. The ingredient for all the dishes we ordered were fresh and quite delicious. Their duck, which is their signature, was a bit underwhelming though, where the slices of duck were a bit too thin and the ratio between meat and skin was unbalanced, leading to less meaty bites. However that might just be my personal preference, so you decide! Overall, would come back to try their many other interesting selections! I see there is a half Beijing duck for $59. As a solo diner, can i order this and get the full experience with buns, crispy skin, soup etc served in multiple courses?
You will not get the entire experience as with getting the whole duck. With the half, you will only get the steam wraps along side the duck. You will then get to choose btwn the soup or the fried bones. So you get a two course meal.
Is the menu only in Chinese or is there a menu in English so that people who are not so fluent with mandarin can order?
