Juqi is a Beijing-style Chinese restaurant in Flushing. The ambience is very beautiful inside with Chinese decorations. Quick and kind, very attentive service. I was really impressed at how clean the food tasted and how the ingredients really shined. The sesame cabbage, Chinese broccoli, and fried eggplant were some of my favorite dishes - I think their vegetable dishes really shine here. The braised pork belly and peking duck were good! Not my favorite, the duck was presented very beautifully and I enjoyed the wraps and variety of fillings - unique and unlike other peking duck places I have had before.
Good service and clean environment. Peking duck skin not crispy enough and prefer buns rather than wraps. The wrap was too thick and pretty tasteless. Love they reuse the bone to make another dish either stir fry, salt & pepper or soup. We chose soup which was a light end to meal. Lamb cumin was definitely the better dish in my opinion. Should order side of rice because it's a flavor bomb. Get mild spicy if you can't handle spice. Also ordered sour cabbage which might be too sour for some people. It helped cut through the heaviness of meats. Overall worth the try but wont come back.

I make sure to come here every time I'm in the area (last time was 4 years ago). Taste and quality are great and consistent with what I remember and each dish is beautifully presented. Servers are attentive and made sure to ask about any dietary restrictions. Restaurant has lots of memorabilia on display which is interesting to peruse.
After having a not-so-great lunch today at a nearby Chinese restaurant down the block, I said to myself, "Why not make it better by having a second lunch at Juqi?" I was craving wheat gluten, so we decided to stop in--and I'm so glad we did! We were seated immediately upon walking in. I ordered the Braised Wheat Gluten with Shrimp and a white rice, while Hubby had the homemade dumplings. Both dishes were absolutely delicious, but my wheat gluten dish truly stood out! It was flavorful, satisfying, and exactly what I had been craving. The entire team was professional, friendly, and welcoming. Selena was especially outstanding--she was warm and courteous and made us feel very well taken care of throughout our meal. Needless to say, we left happy and completely satisfied. It was the perfect way to turn a disappointing lunch into a much better dining experience. We're so glad we came here for our second lunch!
We waited 40 minutes for our Beijing duck to arrive. There was no communication, the service is really slow.
Juqi is an upscale Chinese spot in the Tangram mall with a huge menu and flavorful dishes! To get in the waitlist, you can use Minitable or sign up on the iPad with the hostess. The inside decor is super nice and reminds me of places like CheLi and Szechuan Mountain House so it's great for a nice dinner out. I did also see they had a ton of private room space in the back for events. We tried a few dishes here but my favorite was the Royal Style Barbeque Lamb! The portion was huge with the meat being super juicy, tender, flavorful and had a mild spiciness to it.
I think this place totally lives up to the hype!! delicious duck and non duck dishes!! best to go in a group to order a lot and def make a res!
Came here again with a larger party. We booked a private room this time for a party of 10. The space is great, especially with kids who like to get out of their seats. The room was very quiet, almost too quiet; great for our family get together where conversation is to be had - but I can imagine that it can be awkwardly quiet. Food is solid once again. Duck is excellent, but was not the highlight. My favorite dish has to be the eggplant, so not skip! The Boston lobster was prepared to perfection. Stone crab disappeared the moment it was set down. My kids loved the fried fish and the fried shrimp. Service was excellent. The seats in the private room are very grand wooden chairs, not the most comfortable, it they are an incredible statement piece to the room. Definitely recommend private room for big parties. Spending minimum is around $750 I think?
Back again to this absolutely delicious Beijing-style Chinese food! The Peking duck is the star , they bring the whole duck to the table and carve it right in front of you. The skin is incredibly crispy, and you wrap the tender slices in thin pancakes with cucumber and that delicious sauce. So good! There are tons of other dishes to choose from, the staff is wonderful, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Definitely a place I would come back to again and again. Highly recommend
4 stars for overall service and food. The ordering on the iPad was interesting as the menu was in Chinese. Thankful for the one line descriptions and photos to match. This hot spot, located on the first floor of Tangram Mall, is bustling with crowds on the weekends. They do not take reservations unless you want to book the private rooms or The Birdcage. There is a minimum spend to be in each room so choose wisely. The room we were seated in had a minimum spend of $500. Before you confirm your order, a staff member needs to come by and re-confirm your order, especially to ensure you spent the minimum. There were some very unique dishes and curiosity got the better of us - a few were hit or miss. The misses: hot mustard with cabbage, it was a spicy mustard (like wasabi kind of dry heat, where the heat clears your sinuses). And there was way too much mustard in general, on top. The other dish that was almost a miss, the plum cherry tomatoes. The tomatoes were sweet but skin was still on so the plum brine doesn't absorb too much into the tomato. This is an overall refreshing dish for the summer months since it's served cold. The hits: that full portion of Peking duck served in a fancy presentation like a jewelry trunk with drawers. Each compartment or drawer held a treasure to speak. The cut up duck meat, super moist, the garnish of julienned cucumbers and scallions, the delicious sauce and the fabulous crispy duck skin served over toast and topped with caviar. It was a sight indeed. Beautiful presentation. I also enjoyed the King Crab, this 4 pound beauty was cooked and served two ways. First, steamed crab meat legs with steamed eggs on a large plate. The second method was a stir-fry of more cut crab pieces. Well seasoned and tasted like a mixture of Old Bay seasoning and spices. The other favorite of the night was the pork meatball. While only one serving ordered, we managed to break it up with a spoon and everyone got to try it. The other stand out dish was the brisket and beef tendon. Very saucy and tender. I would have wanted to try their fish dishes but all were spicy or marked with a red pepper icon. Since it's a Beijing style menu, I would presume too spicy for my taste. The coolest feature of being in the private room, the motorized lazy Susan and of course, having privacy. Made our birthday banquet much more enjoyable so that we didn't have to sit in the loud, main dining area.
Ambiance , service and seating was excellent! My family treated me to Peking Duck, Royal lamb barbecue, Organic Cauliflower with spicy pork belly, Peking Duck soup, Braised Tofu with seafood including fish, shrimp, Calamari . Food was spectacular
Located in flushing within a mall, this might have been one of the top restaurants in NYC that I have been to, and am looking forward to coming again. There was a long wait as we put our names down for a party of four, but there is a lot to do in the mall as you wait. Our party of four was able to get seated on a Sunday afternoon after about 30 mins or so. The indoors is very well decorated and it has a nice dimly lit atmosphere. Something this place does do really well is the plating and presentation. Our first appetizer were these shrimp balls and they served 9 items on this really stunning tree holder. We ordered pork, some boiled bok choi, and Peking duck. I think in NYC this was the best Peking duck experiences I have had. They provided a large variety of toppings more than just the basic green onions. They ask if you want the bones boiled or fried afterwards. They provide a large amount of wraps for you to enjoy, and the duck was prepared beautifully. Now this place does get pricey but my friends and I loved our visit. They show you how to make each roll, they provide plastic gloves are you prep the duck rolls. Will definitely plan to come back, every thing we ate was fantastic and we had a great time. It does get a bit pricey however.

My friends took us here to celebrate a special occasion and because they really love this spot. We got an elaborate, beautiful Peking duck complete in a chest. My personal favorite and is what makes it worth going here alone is their crispy eggplant. It was sooooo good - if I could easily pop by here just to get an order of their eggplant, I would. So delicious and the kind of dish you will be thinking about perennially for the rest of your life. My friends also really liked the Peking duck. read more

Cute upscale spot in the middle of the mall with the best Peking Duck I've had in the world! The duck is perfectly tender and not dry with a crispy skin that is just enough chew and thickness. Just a perfect bite of duck with no bad pieces. So so good and worth the stop if you're in Flushing or in NYC really. Service is brusque but efficient. read more

Great Peking duck option for tourists and locals alike! A bit difficult to get to but worth the commute. There are a few choices for how you can get your duck cooked and presented, but we went with the treasure chest option since the waitress recommended it was the most "traditional Western" style. We also ordered a few extra dishes to try and everything was delicious. You really can't go wrong here! With the exception of the samurai sweet potato bunny. Although he's cute, he's not very tasty and we ended up not eating much more than a few bites :/. On the pricier side but service was very friendly and welcoming. Really enjoyed our meal at Juqi! We tried the Old Beijing Luzhu and the shrimp-stuffed fried gluten, and both were delicious. The Luzhu was rich and flavorful with a very authentic Beijing-style taste, while the shrimp-stuffed gluten was savory, juicy, and had a great texture. Stopped by early Sunday evening for an early dinner. We've walked past here several times and have been wanting to try it. There was no wait and the inside is decorated traditionally. The menu is very interesting and we ordered the Peking Duck set, Fried Rice, and the Bittern Flapjack. It was a bit pricey but food was really yummy and worth it for the experience! They cut up the Peking Duck in front of you at your table and they light the fried rice on fire at your table. I want to come back and try the other dishes! read more
We're from out of town, and we came to New York for one day just to eat. I did my research and wanted to try the peking duck. It was delicious, the four of us ordered the whole peking duck set with caviar and we ate all of it. We got to choose how we wanted to eat the rest of the duck and we should've gotten the salt and pepper, but we stuck with the soup. Best Peking Duck I've had in NY. We always go for the normal half duck, and comes with the usual crepe, and condiments. And they have an option for the bones to be put into a soup or roasted. Service is quick, but because of the popularity, it will likely take a while to get seated. Inside though is an old school Chinese village vibe. Anyone who ask for recommendations in Flushing, I always put this place on top of the recommendation list. So far it hasn't failed. read more

Came for a birthday dinner and most of the items we ordered were delicious. The tablet to order is massive and for some reason you can't see the items added in your cart in English. Service was just okay, had to flag down the waiter multiple times for ice water and more tea. Peking duck could've been crispier and the second dish, the soup, came out warm. 4.5. Not quite a 5, but their Beijing-style Chinese food is stellar and service pretty good. Juqi is located on the first floor in Tangram Mall. Inside they've spared no expense in creating seating & decor reflecting Chinese period aesthetics, with booth seating framed by carved tracery woodwork panels, elaborate hanging lanterns, a calligraphy setup in the hallway, Beijing/Peking Opera costumes and colorful murals decorating the private rooms. A friend celebrated a birthday here ordering the works--if you book a private room you can go with one of several set menus, which they're able to modify slightly due to food allergies. Our 24-course banquet included: Appetizers: - Pear Soup - pear nectar is a more apt term, slightly sweet. - pickled radish & cucumber: two different brines, one sweeter. Cold dishes: - Sushou Soy Sauce Chicken: clever birdcage presentation, well-prepped--better than I anticipated. - Colorful Aged Vinegar Salad: brined jellyfish w/ braised seaweed, julienned carrots, cucumbers. Tasty! - Spicy Handcrafted Black Tofu Strips: tofu can be crafted into innumerable dishes, this one was basically a tofu noodle salad, pretty good. - Fresh Soy Stick: another soy-based dish, tofu skin with celery, a simple classic take. - Wasabi Boneless Duck Feet: first time trying this; our group agreed it was surprisingly good! A similar texture to the jellyfish w/a little kick from the mustard. Not as pungent as Japanese sushi wasabi. - Sliced beef w/chili oil: served w/ plenty of slivered scallions. Lovely spice level. Hot dishes: - Juqi Roast Duck with homemade pancake: a main attraction here, they cook a mean rendition. Perfectly crisp skin, tender, flavorful meat--they carve it in front of you and give a demonstration on how to wrap it with the other ingredients (veggies & duck sauce) inside a crepe-like savory wrapper. So good! - Smoked Pork Knuckles: yummy meat w/lean and fatty sections to eat inside a crepe pocket (similar texture to duck wrapper). - Braised Pork Belly with Brown Sauce: solid take, very tender. - Royal Style BBQ Lamb: reminded me of western Chinese style spicy dry pot, though not as spicy. Lotsa sliced onions & scallions with the lamb, adding extra levels of crisp and spice. - Kung Pao Boston Lobster: pretty standard Chinese prep for stir-fried lobster; they did it well, nice large chucks of meat. I saw other pics where this came with noodles under the lobster though ours came sans. - Litchi Shrimp Dumplings x2: crunchy exterior on these savory minced shrimp meat balls. No actual fruit, the exterior of the shrimp balls are crafted to look like litchi. If you ordered these ala carte maybe a bit pricey for 6 balls though a lot of work was put into them. - Sweet and Sour Squirrel Shaped Fish: not sure how this looks like a squirrel, though will say they maintained good crispness on the deep fried exterior while protecting a firm, tender interior, even after pouring sauce all over it. - Braised Beef Tendon Soup with Sea Cucumber: more of a thick stew served with rice, super tender and tasty. - Stir Fried Chinese Broccoli: decent? Not writing home about it though good to add some greens. - Lobster Soup Braised Liugou Tofu: I didn't try though friends said it was good. They must've stewed the heads and shells to get that level of lobstah flavor. - Duck soup: made from the bone sections of the Peking duck, you have an option of stir-frying or soup, I found this semi-clear broth terrific, not heavy or salty. - Mullet Egg Drop Soup: someone made a mistake here and added waay too much white pepper, it blew out your palate and came off as bitter. - Dumplings: decent, standard boiled. - Juqi fried rice: squid ink fried rice which they put on a show by flambéing though the flavor/texture was unimpressive. Dessert: - fruit plate: sweet and plentiful. - Beijing Five Delicacies: consists of mochi, puff, rice cake w/red bean paste, two types of bean jelly. All technically executed decently, not too sweet, we cut these into smaller pieces to share. Soo much food, and overall excellent quality and delicious! Service flowed quickly taking about 1.5hr (2hr limit on the room). We finished approx 95% and packed some to-go boxes. There's a red service button to ring for staff; they were quick to respond and attentive in coming by multiple times during the meal to change out clean plates. One of the leftover dishes we were planning to take to go disappeared, but balance was ok. Total incl tip+tax came out to $75pp for 12 people which honestly is amazing for the quality and quantity. Bathrooms in decent shape though line was long since only a couple stalls in each. read more

I see there is a half Beijing duck for $59. As a solo diner, can i order this and get the full experience with buns, crispy skin, soup etc served in multiple courses?
You will not get the entire experience as with getting the whole duck. With the half, you will only get the steam wraps along side the duck. You will then get to choose btwn the soup or the fried bones. So you get a two course meal.
Is the menu only in Chinese or is there a menu in English so that people who are not so fluent with mandarin can order?
