Soba salad with tofu poke

EDIT: I ended up getting really awful 24 hour long food poisoning from eating here, and I called the restaurant to let them know. However, I wasn't offered a refund and only received a verbal apology. The food itself, service, and the inside seating are fantastic, and I was really excited to try this place as it's been on my list for a while and looks delicious. However, I'm not sure if I got a bad batch, but the soba noodle salad with tofu poke really upset my stomach just an hour after eating, and it has still been in pain a few hours later. I am not sure what it would be that would affect me this much, as I rarely ever get food poisoning/my stomach is not that sensitive, but next time I might try something made to order instead of being premade to avoid this happening again.

Macaroni that tastes like Thai coconut milk, I'm not supposed to eat pasta and couldn't resist this!

This is one of my favorite healthy vegan restaurants - everything you order is delicious, fresh, and made with ingredients that leaves you feeling like you made the right choice about eating habits! We often order the succulent salad which has purple sweet potatoes, broccoli, feta, on a bed of greens with delicious dressing - their coffee/lattes are also worth checking out! Also, they make an incredible chocolate cake. It was by far the best chocolate cake I've ever had in my entire life.

Not the first time but the SECOND time going and the food was so delicious. It did take roughly 10min to make (but I'm not complaining)! The portion size was perfect for my friend and I. Definitely worth going especially if you're a tourist!

OWoW! My first visit to Waialae location and it's amazing! Quaint eat in, super friendly knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Yes it's vegan but it's just plain delicious food! Tender Hirata bun followed by a succulent crunchy Korean Chick'N with wonderful vegetables and whatever galactic sauce they top it with. That was after eating the Succulent Salad of perfectly delicious greens, nuts and dried fruit with breakthrough Okinawan sweet potato goodness. Will def be a regular here! Hello new best friend

Juicy Brew to kickoff the day!!! For great flavorful vegan eats, this is the place to head to! They also serve coffee drinks and bottled organic juices! Mahalo!

The Breakfast Frittata Sammie

While on a run it started to rain so I stopped. While waiting for the rain to let up I realized how hungry I was. Since I was right there, I decided to go get some breakfast at Juicy Brew. I asked the girl at the counter for suggestions and she said the breakfast frittata sammie would be great! So I ordered one! And since I had to walk/run the rest of the way home now with a sandwich in tow, I asked if it could be wrapped in a way it wouldn't get too messed up. And it was wrapped beautifully! It was a run more than walking since it started raining again. The Sammie was in perfect condition when I finally got home! I cut it in half since it was such a large sandwich! The frittata/cheez combo with the flavors of caramelized onions and roasted veggies were just perfect! And the brioche bun was oh so soft and fluffy! I'm so happy it made it home safely! Thank you Juicy Brew!

VEGAN BAHN MI!!!!!!!! Left me speechless so delicious. Breakfast Frittata Sammie was so beyond yummy too, 10/10. My sister got the Tofu Salad something (sorry forgot). Zubair the actual GOAT helped us.

Always loved this vegan spot the food is amazing .Great fast relaxed service , chill ambiance . One of my favorites is the mochi pancakes but they don't always have it on the menu so today I tried something new and loved it . The mushroom melt . Perfect size , nice texture and not too much sauce dripping , so I could eat it on the way to work in my car . Highly recommend this stop on the main strip in kaimuki Oahu HI

Their salads were just that good and it never felt like you were eating "healthy" food. We ordered the Ono Island Ahi and the Mandarin Ginger, and flavor wise the salads themselves still hold up. Portions felt fair and the prices were reasonable in my opinion. I also appreciated that it came with two pieces of pita bread. That said, the service really took away from the experience. When we ordered, the employee took our order but did not really start making the salad. His manager had to come out, at which point he jumped a bit and then started assembling the salad. He did not ask if we wanted it tossed, which they used to do, and instead just layered everything together. The biggest disappointment came when I got home and realized my Ono Island Ahi salad had no dressing at all, not on the side and not inside. That was frustrating and honestly a letdown, especially since the dressing is a big part of what makes these salads so good. The space itself looks clean and it is very convenient being inside Kahala Mall, with plenty of parking which is always a plus. Overall, the food concept is great and the salads are still tasty, but the service is lacking and needs improvement for me to fully enjoy coming back regularly.

Nalu Health Bar & Café is such a solid spot, especially if you're looking for something fresh,…read morequick, and actually satisfying. Parking is super easy with the complimentary structure, and the café is located on the bottom floor alongside other vendors. One thing I immediately appreciated was how well air-conditioned the entire market is--it's nice and cool, which makes sitting and eating there really comfortable. The cashier recommended the turkey pesto croissant, but suggested swapping it onto ciabatta since it's one of her favorites--and I'm so glad I trusted her. It was phenomenal. The flavors were balanced, the bread held everything together perfectly, and it felt like a step above your typical sandwich. I also had what looked like a simple salad, but the vinaigrette and candied pistachios really elevated it and made it feel more thoughtful than expected. The staff across the board were friendly and welcoming, and there's plenty of seating--whether inside the café or out in the open market area. Honestly, the value surprised me the most. I paid under $13 for everything, which is hard to beat for the quality. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to.

This time I placed an online order and came in to pick it up. I walked up to the counter where one of the employees looked directly at me and walked away without a word. Another employee was busy doing something behind the counter, so I spoke up and told her I was there for an online pickup. She grabbed my sandwich and handed it over, but I had to remind her that I had also ordered a Nalu bowl. It shouldn't be on the customer to chase down their own order. The food itself may be fine, but the lack of basic customer service makes it hard to want to come back. A simple acknowledgment, eye contact, or a friendly "I'll be right with you" goes a long way. Sadly, none of that seems to be the standard here. And it's not just me,I've read several other reviews saying the exact same thing: customers being ignored, dismissed, and met with attitudes. When multiple people are leaving the same complaints, that's not a bad day, that's a pattern. Hopefully management takes this seriously, because this place has potential and it's being held back by its own staff.

Mostly we go as a takeout spot, although there was a bench outside. Their sandwich menu has variety but is not overwhelming. The people working have also been quite nice! We decided to get the No Comply toasted. While it is a pricier sandwich, as it was about $14, the sandwich came packed with chicken, lettuce, and more. It served as a meal and a half! It was also super tasty with the roasted garlic mayo and pesto. Definitely a go-to sandwich order that I am looking forward to getting again!

Ordering ahead was easy and convenient, which I appreciated, and pickup was smooth. When I picked up my sandwich, my first thought was, "Wow, this is a heavy sandwich for a turkey-bacon with added avocado, no onions, and no tomato." At the time I assumed the weight meant a generous portion of turkey and bacon. Unfortunately, when I got back to work and opened it, I quickly realized that wasn't the case--it was the lettuce. There was an overwhelming amount of lettuce packed into the sandwich, to the point where it felt completely out of balance. Instead of being turkey-forward, it felt more like a lettuce sandwich with a few toppings added in. The turkey and bacon portions themselves were surprisingly small and unevenly distributed--one half had about two slices of turkey while the other had closer to a slice and a half. Most of the bacon was also concentrated on one half, so I ended up redistributing it just to make the sandwich feel a bit more balanced. The bread didn't help either. I think I shouldn't have gotten it toasted--it just didn't do it for me. It felt a little off with the filling and didn't add anything to the overall experience. I ordered The Duke, but what I didn't realize was that I was essentially getting a salad sandwich (see pic). I like lettuce on a sandwich, but this was next level--the amount completely overwhelmed everything else inside. The cost was another consideration--my total came to $19.37, including a $3.50 charge for avocado. For the portion size and balance of ingredients, I expected a bit more bang for my buck. If I give this place a second chance, I'll definitely need to say 'lite lettuce'--or maybe just 'no lettuce, please'--unless I want another salad disguised as a sandwich!

But it worked out because I picked up my second lunch/early dinner here, my favorite Papa tostada! Since they pack all the meals to go now, the tortilla chips are packaged separately to keep them crispy. My Mexican fam members would cringe at calling this a "tostada" but whatever it's called, it's been my go-to first choice meal here for over 20 years. The base is their veggie chili with a sprinkle of cheese, topped with their special tomato sauce, a huge mound of green leaf lettuce, chunks of tomatoes, a nest of alfalfa, sour cream, and guacamole. The chili now has a tiny kick to it, which is a recent change, which will probably appeal to most people. And it's only $9.99, what??!!! My favorite sandwiches here are the ahi or fresh turkey, tomato, and avocado sandwiches. The turkey is roasted in-house, very moist, and sprinkled with a special seasoning. The ahi is a tasty smoked ahi spread. Both sandwiches have lots of lettuce, shredded carrots, and sprouts (if you choose), so they are like salad sandwiches. They're both so good it's hard to choose one. The cash register is right next to the pastry display case, which you should not skip. Their apple and blueberry turnovers are delicious, but the guava pastry is even more so, with flaky and buttery crusts. The oatmeal cookies have raisins and chocolate chips, and taste healthier than most other places. And don't forget their fresh fruit smoothies! When I was a student and then working at UH we would eat here every week, and I really miss eating here since I work downtown now. I will definitely try to come more often, and earlier to get the best pastries! Andy and his family/staff are very friendly and always smiling. Andy figured out a long time ago how to graciously serve healthy and delicious food, and I hope they continue to do so for many years to come!

The blueberry scone is also extremely famous here and I was able to nab the last few when it was nearing closing time. Their blueberry scone is huge keep that in mind LOL. Also I found it to be a bit doughy and soft. I feel like if this is your type of scone then by all means go for it, but for me personally not really my cup of tea. I still think it was delicious though! Maybe I came on an off day. I also tend to like my scone to have a bit of crumble and not too soft so that may also explain why I wasn't a huge fan of it. My fav was definitely the Hawaiian because it includes paʻiʻai, which I later learned is hand-pounded steamed taro. It had a slightly chewy, paste like texture that was really good and added something special to the bowl. I would easily recommend this spot to anyone visiting. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Hawaii. We didn't get a chance to try any of their other food or drinks though, so that's something I'd want to check out next time. There are quite a lot of seats inside, which makes it fairly easy to find a place to sit. They do have parking right in front of the shop, but the spaces are a little tight. The bathroom was a bit questionable though it was very dimly lit and seemed to double as a storage area.
