Bank of Hawaii Food Truck event. Service pretty fast, very friendly staff/owner? And food was pretty darn good. I'm not one for Vegan food but I decided to try it out. Ordered the veek locomoco. Luckily I was able it reheat it in the office so it was delish!

Veek is a new plant based burger food truck which parks on Cooke Street. The name "Veek" comes from the idea that we are vegan seeker who are always looking to evolve, per Co-Owner Yuki Suzuki in Keep on Truckin' article posted on their Instagram page. They are new and believed they just opened in March 2022. Today they were on the side of the Imperial Plaza. I was lucky to find parking and first decided to try the Gyros-N-Villains since I always see the food truck on Kapiolani Blvd but haven't tried them yet. As I was waiting for my food, I checked out the new food truck further down the street. It was called Veek but wasn't in Yelp yet. I decided to order from here too. I decided on the Melty Lava since I do love mushrooms burgers and this came with with fresh tomato, grilled mushrooms and onion with homemade cheddar sauce on the plant based burger! There was an original house made crafted cola which put together with spices and fresh citrus and I was curious so I got the drink. The burger was so freshly made. I saw the chef molding and shaping my burger before grilling. I was amazed how moist and delicious plant based burger can be! Loved the cheddar sauce with the grilled mushrooms, onion and everything on the burger. Bun was delicious and loved the roasted potato slices with Kale on the side! You pay a little more for these but after eating, I didn't feel so heavy nor was sluggish. It was better for me. I'm a Diet Coke person but I enjoyed the crafted cola and it was actually pretty good with a slice of lemon inside. Not sure what was inside but was healthier then the regular cola. The chef/cook answered all my questions and received great service! They take cash, Apple Pay and Credit card. I'm glad there are more vegan places and food truck for those who are vegan or vegetarian. The burgers were fresh and delicious. There was 3 others burgers on the menu which looked just as good such as the Veek burger (has mashed avocado) , Teri Teri burger and a breakfast burger. The Veek's chili was sold out. Besides the crafted cola, there were plantation tea, unsweetened ice tea and bottled water. Follow them on Instagram to find the exact times and location. I just know you can find them on Cooke Street for now by Mother Waldron Park or imperial Plaza during lunch time. Thanks for reading my review!

Must follow on Instagram since they have limited schedule and hours. Usually 2 times a week from 11-2. Primarily 2 locations Kakaako and downtown. Back story to this place I stood in a 2 hour line at the downtown block party and by the time I reached the front (3 more ahead of me) they were sold out. I was determined to try this burger. The owners have been vegan about a year now but have always had a mostly vegetable diet. They are super nice couple with an 18 month old. The meat itself is not store bought impossible or beyond....home made its so cool as I bit into it it had a pink hue as of its medium rare, softer then real meat but good flavor. They use a bao like but that's toasted on the flat top so when you bite it the bread is soft then has a nice crunch before diving into the burger itself. I tried the veek burger that comes with their sauce and sprouts. This was not too heavy and everything went well together. They served this with thick cut French fries. I will definitely be back to try the melt my lava that is a burger with house made (secret recipe) cheese and sautéed mushrooms and onions. They also have a Teri burger, breakfast burger and chili. The price was $17 for the veek $16 for the melt lava a bit high but well worth it. Everything is made from whole ingredients and created by them. I will add more photos as I come back to try the other burgers.

Decided to try this vegan option truck and first off the choices were minimal but that was ok. I ordered the Veek burger, it cane with crinkle fries and a drink. The flavors were actually good but I would've preferred the burger more stiff but soft was ok. The crinkle fries were cold and soggy which was a disappointment . The other disappointment was that this was food truck day and very busy but there was only 1 guy taking orders as well as cooking so the wait was longer than expected. Otherwise I thought the burger was ok.

This veggie burger, fries, and tea combo were outstanding! Great food truck experience! Super nice folks, too.

At the time, he stated that him and his partner were in a competition to see how many triples they could sell, but figured I'd keep that in the back of my mind for our next visit. We came here on a recommendation from my boyfriend's coworker and I'm glad we came! The burgers and fries were made fresh. There are only a hand full of tables inside and a small bar area, but there is also outdoor seating outside, too! A neat fact is that there were pictures posted from when the shop first opened up and to see They Daley as a fixture in Chinatown is amazing since they've stuck around and adapted to the development around. The burger was delicious, too. They have an aioli sauce that was good with diced up pickles. Usually I request no pickles but the small bursts really added to the texture and feel of the burger overall. 10/10 would come again!

I came in ready to experience a life-changing Wagyu burger... the kind that makes you question…read moreevery burger you've ever eaten. Instead, I had a really good burger. I ordered the Wagyu Deluxe Burger, and don't get me wrong--it was juicy, well-seasoned, and served on a soft, slightly sweet bun that tied everything together nicely. It was delicious! But if you blindfolded me, I don't know if I could confidently tell you it was Wagyu. It tasted very similar to a really good smash burger, so unless you're trying to impress your taste buds (or your wallet), I'd probably just order the original smash burger next time. One thing to keep in mind: there was only one guy running the whole operation when I visited. He was taking orders, cooking, and doing everything short of cloning himself. So if the place gets busy, expect a little wait. Honestly, respect to him for keeping it all together. Parking is a bit of a treasure hunt since there are only a few stalls. I got lucky and snagged the last spot, but street parking may be your backup plan. The inside was clean, spacious, and a comfortable place to enjoy your meal. Overall, I'd definitely come back--next time I'll save a few bucks, grab the original smash burger, and let the lone burger superhero work his magic.

Along with two other people waiting for takeout, there were also about five parties dining in still waiting for their food. I ended up receiving my order at 1:57 PM. For a single burger, that felt like a pretty long wait -- especially after already waiting inside the restaurant for around 20 minutes with no updates. If an order is given a pickup time, it should ideally be ready or close to ready by then. That was definitely the biggest downside of the experience. The burger itself was good, though not quite worth the 40-45 minute wait overall. I ordered the Umami Wagyu Cheeseburger. It had good flavor, but it was pretty messy, and honestly, I couldn't really tell much of a difference from regular beef. I'm not sure the "wagyu" aspect added much for me personally. I'm usually a very patient person, but this experience left me feeling a bit underwhelmed. I can only imagine how long the dine-in customers were waiting. I'm glad I had the chance to try it, but I'm not sure if I'd come back.

We came on a Saturday and there were a few people in front of us, but the food came out super fast. We also witnessed the new mural being painted across their wall, which is a work of art in itself. I'm not going to lie, the wait time for the food is extremely long for just burgers and fries--took more than 30 minutes--but please keep in mind this is a small business. I think there were only 2 or 3 people working, an auntie, uncle, and a younger guy who I believe was cooking. The food looked so beautiful but everything was too salty and the patties were way too charred, which I'm hoping was a one off thing. I did DM them on social media shortly after picking up our order and they said it was an off day. They offered for me to come back one day so they can make things right, but I don't know if I'll have the time to swing by anytime soon.
