It is a food truck. They park somewhere in downtown and cooke street. I found them on cooke street! If you want to try plant based burgers, they are super delicious. I expected it to be a little dry but not at all. Plus your burger comes with a free iced tea while you're waiting! I gave them a 5 star because the food was awesome and the service was also very good! They seemed to be having so much fun while serving their customers which is so awesome to see! I think the food tastes better if you see the workers loving what they do! They ran out out mushroom and onion for my mushroom burger but they compensated me for their chili! Totally a win win! because the burger didn't need the grilled mushroom and onion.. but I'm sure it would've tasted a lot better!

Veek is a new plant based burger food truck which parks on Cooke Street. The name "Veek" comes from the idea that we are vegan seeker who are always looking to evolve, per Co-Owner Yuki Suzuki in Keep on Truckin' article posted on their Instagram page. They are new and believed they just opened in March 2022. Today they were on the side of the Imperial Plaza. I was lucky to find parking and first decided to try the Gyros-N-Villains since I always see the food truck on Kapiolani Blvd but haven't tried them yet. As I was waiting for my food, I checked out the new food truck further down the street. It was called Veek but wasn't in Yelp yet. I decided to order from here too. I decided on the Melty Lava since I do love mushrooms burgers and this came with with fresh tomato, grilled mushrooms and onion with homemade cheddar sauce on the plant based burger! There was an original house made crafted cola which put together with spices and fresh citrus and I was curious so I got the drink. The burger was so freshly made. I saw the chef molding and shaping my burger before grilling. I was amazed how moist and delicious plant based burger can be! Loved the cheddar sauce with the grilled mushrooms, onion and everything on the burger. Bun was delicious and loved the roasted potato slices with Kale on the side! You pay a little more for these but after eating, I didn't feel so heavy nor was sluggish. It was better for me. I'm a Diet Coke person but I enjoyed the crafted cola and it was actually pretty good with a slice of lemon inside. Not sure what was inside but was healthier then the regular cola. The chef/cook answered all my questions and received great service! They take cash, Apple Pay and Credit card. I'm glad there are more vegan places and food truck for those who are vegan or vegetarian. The burgers were fresh and delicious. There was 3 others burgers on the menu which looked just as good such as the Veek burger (has mashed avocado) , Teri Teri burger and a breakfast burger. The Veek's chili was sold out. Besides the crafted cola, there were plantation tea, unsweetened ice tea and bottled water. Follow them on Instagram to find the exact times and location. I just know you can find them on Cooke Street for now by Mother Waldron Park or imperial Plaza during lunch time. Thanks for reading my review!

Must follow on Instagram since they have limited schedule and hours. Usually 2 times a week from 11-2. Primarily 2 locations Kakaako and downtown. Back story to this place I stood in a 2 hour line at the downtown block party and by the time I reached the front (3 more ahead of me) they were sold out. I was determined to try this burger. The owners have been vegan about a year now but have always had a mostly vegetable diet. They are super nice couple with an 18 month old. The meat itself is not store bought impossible or beyond....home made its so cool as I bit into it it had a pink hue as of its medium rare, softer then real meat but good flavor. They use a bao like but that's toasted on the flat top so when you bite it the bread is soft then has a nice crunch before diving into the burger itself. I tried the veek burger that comes with their sauce and sprouts. This was not too heavy and everything went well together. They served this with thick cut French fries. I will definitely be back to try the melt my lava that is a burger with house made (secret recipe) cheese and sautéed mushrooms and onions. They also have a Teri burger, breakfast burger and chili. The price was $17 for the veek $16 for the melt lava a bit high but well worth it. Everything is made from whole ingredients and created by them. I will add more photos as I come back to try the other burgers.

Decided to try this vegan option truck and first off the choices were minimal but that was ok. I ordered the Veek burger, it cane with crinkle fries and a drink. The flavors were actually good but I would've preferred the burger more stiff but soft was ok. The crinkle fries were cold and soggy which was a disappointment . The other disappointment was that this was food truck day and very busy but there was only 1 guy taking orders as well as cooking so the wait was longer than expected. Otherwise I thought the burger was ok.

This veggie burger, fries, and tea combo were outstanding! Great food truck experience! Super nice folks, too.

If you're just looking for the cliff notes the food is good but a bit pricy…read more With that out of the way I decided to try this place after seeing the sign and checking out the yelp pics. I was surprised to see the place pretty empty on a Friday night around 7. I went to the bar to order take out and the guy working was really nice and took my takeout order. I will say it smelled amazing in the restaurant. Food took about 10 mins to come out. The catfish was great, two pretty big pieces very well seasoned. The Mac and Cheese and Yams was also pretty good. I will say the Mac tasted better than it looked and I only say that because at first glance it didn't seem to have much cheese but I was wrong. The corn bread tasted good but was dry. I warmed it and added some butter and that didn't trick. The only thing I personally wasn't a fan of was the greens. They weren't necessarily bad but like Keith Lee says I don't know if I'm their target audience. They tasted a bit sweet and there was something else in the seasoning that I wasn't a huge fan of but couldn't quite put my finger on. I almost forgot the plate came with "yellow seasoned rice" which is under the fish on the Mac side. Honestly it's a free inclusion so not super fair to judge it. Everything in the picture was about $47 bucks. In my opinion that's a bit high and I'm guessing that's because it's in Waikīkī. I definitely plan to go back especially to try the Happy Hour, and I'd like to dine in to see how that goes.

We were right there, so I ordered a Smoked BBQ Rib plate. It came with 2 sides. We chose Baked beans and Green beans with smoked turkey. Service was very friendly and efficient! I believe that they worker said, "I appreciate you!" Wow! That's very nice of him! We took the plate home (it was too windy to sit alongside the busy sidewalk) and discussed the tasty ribs, sweet (molasses?) Baked beans and yummy green beans with smoked turkey. Mmm! I would return and get the catfish plate, Po Boy sandwich, and walking tacos!

The array of lunch trucks are found near the intersection of Ala Moana and Kalākaua Ave. It was my first time to this lunch truck area in Waikiki and I was craving some garlic shrimp. I got the shrimp plate for $19.99, they charged a little more when I used my credit card. At first I was getting impatient since I waited about 20 minutes for my shrimp but it was so worth it! They make the shrimp to order so it's fresh and hot when you get it. The shrimps were a good generous size and fresh and the garlic sauce with the rice was so good! The shrimp plate comes with a green salad. I would say this shrimp shack was one of the best i've tried on island because the shrimps are huge and the garlic butter was so ono! There are seats to sit down in the lunch truck area but many seats are in the hot sun w no shade. If you're lucky you can grab a picnic table with shade. It's worth it so go try it!

We had the "highly rated" North Shore shrimp three years ago and the way they serve it to you isn't very appetizing. However, this shack, chef's kiss. The presentation and the flavor was all there. Last week it tasted like it had fish sauce in it with spices and garlic, etc...tonight it literally tastes like bbq seasoning mixed with chipotle seasoning and chili onion. I'm not writing this review to bash this shrimp truck because I think they are very nice but more so as constructive criticism...to hopefully keep their recipe consistent. People want the flavor of Garlic shrimp without having to go to the north shore. These other seasonings just didn't cut it for me:(

We were hungry in the morning, so we arrived just after they opened. There was lots of parking. We ordered and while the Poi rolls were cooking we had a chance to chat with the owner Dennis. He described the extra effort that they put into every ingredient. Later after we finished eating, Dennis would bring bowls of freshly cut cantaloupe from a close-by market. It was perfectly ripe and one of the best that I have tasted. That is an example of the Aloha you will feel while visiting. I have been to Hawaii a dozen times and was never a fan of Poi because I never tasted a dish that was prepared properly. We went to a picnic the previous day that had a donut like pasty made with Poi and fresh Poi made at a local restaurant. They were both delicious and this totally changed my opinion. Based on that positive experience I wanted to try the signature Poi dog. We opted for the spicy version. It was so tasty with the matching condiments. If you are a foodie that wants to try something unique, be sure to give it a try.
