Better Daze is a cute shack located on Kapahulu. Parking is very limited. It shares the same lot as Ono's seafood so if you go at the same time as their opening hours, it could be difficult to find parking in the lot or there is street parking as well. There is a lot next door but it is for the customers for their property only. We ordered the coconut cloud matcha and the mushroom elixir latte both with oat milk. The matcha flavor was lacking and their foam was a nice light coconut flavor. It was a bit on the sweeter side. I enjoyed the mushroom elixir latte it was good and their ingredients complimented the espresso to still have a strong coffee flavor. I would come back for their coffee espresso items. If you're looking for a strong matcha, this wouldn't be it. read more

Always been on my radar but every time i pass by no parking . This morning finally a few parking available @ 8:00am alright . I've seen a lot of post on this nice little coffee kiosk so had to give it a shot . I really enjoyed their coffee plus very nice and helpful ladies working inside the kiosk . I asked one of them first time here and she ask what type of coffee do I like . I replied I like white chocolate mocha she said they can create a coffee very similar since they do not have white chocolate mocha. So I said that will be nice . She advised me that it will consist of Cacao mocha with vanilla syrup w/splash of milk . That is customer service explaining the type of coffee that I'll be having that was really awesome. Better Daze shares parking with Ono Seafood and Soccer Locker so you can imagine it can get very crowded. Support local and I'll be definitely back in the near future to try something else read more

Very cute little shack that sells amazing coffee - and I wish we have this in LA. We got the vanilla bean and brown sugar latte, coconut cloud cold brew, and a matcha latte. Everything was so good we wish we had more of our drinks cause we finished it so fast. I love how their coffee is strong but it's so smooth!! Wish I could have this everyday. Employees were so nice but I got a matcha lemonade and my friend got the ice tea lemonade and they were both awful :( Not sure if the lemonade is supposed to taste like that or not but wouldn't recommend unfortunately. read more

I pulled up early on a Thursday morning, there was plenty of parking. I would imagine on a weekend there would be none and you would need to find street parking. I ordered the iced Mac nut latte and it was so good. There was a strong coffee flavor which I love and the Mac nut flavor was great. One of the best Mac nut lattes I've had. read more

Cute coffee/matcha hut that's tucked away near Leonard's. Really friendly barista when my partner and I came in the morning. Great vibes from her that further elevated our visit, on top of the delicious drinks! We got the coconut cloud matcha and the coconut cloud coldbrew. The matcha was really balanced and the cold brew was not bitter at all, both paired well with the coconut cloud topping. Cozy sitting area and a couple of parking spots available too. read more

This was my favorite coffee spot while visiting Oahu! The menu offers a variety of different drinks, including a variety of options for black coffee, lattes, matcha, teas, and lemonade. Every time I visited, I'd get a pour over and was super happy with my drink. My husband is more picky with his coffee and even he said that this was some of the best coffee he's had. So if you're thinking about coming here, this is your sign! The store is moreso a stand if anything, but it is super cute and aesthetic. The service here has always been friendly and the barista went out of her way to make conversation with us (positive points too that she's also a California native like us). This spot shares the same parking lot with Ono so be prepared for a struggle finding parking and tight spots. read more

Continuing our coffee hunt, we trekked to Kapahulu to visit this cute cart located within a parking lot attached to a walk up apartment complex. Its a nice cool morning, so perfect for some coffee! Americano ($4.00) - nice temperature, not bitter Organic Pumpkin Spice Latte ($6.75) - cozy and autumny Locally made (Big Time Bagels) plain bagell with roasted garlic and herb cream cheese ($8.00) - seriously worth every cent! When we first arrived there was just one other customer, but as we sat in their little dining area and enjoyed our bagel, at least 20 people had ordered and departed with their drinks and baked items. Service is friendly and rather quick considering its a crew of two. read more

My amazing husband made it a point to research different coffee shops on Yelp so we could try a new one each day of our trip. Better Daze was our choice for our final morning. We made the walk over from our hotel and had a great walk, it's a bit out of the way, but totally worth going to. It's a little coffee cart that you might miss if you're not looking for it and it's next to a plaza with parking available. I ordered the Iced Rose Latte ($7.75) and my husband ordered the Cloud Chai ($8). The staff members warned my husband that they make their chai with a good amount of spice, and some customers aren't fans of it, but this made him even more excited. My rose latte was delicious and had decorative rose petals on top. The rose flavor wasn't overpowering and the coffee was great. My husband LOVED his Cloud Chai so much (I didn't even get a sip!) and he ended up buying a second drink right away so he could try more of their menu. His second drink was the Soul Chai with honey ($7.75) and he liked this one as well, but says the Cloud Chai is the one he'd order any time we get the chance to visit again. He even says it makes his top five chai that he's ever had. This is a small coffee cart/kiosk and there's only two people working but you can tell they put a lot of heart into their drinks. read more

These cute little coffee truck was a great stop post workout. The baristas were friendly and the drinks came out very quickly. In the morning the other shops around it are closed so there was parking available which was nice. We got an iced honey chai with almond milk. The chai was flavorful. It was a bit in the ginger side, which I enjoyed but something to be aware of. The honey cinnamon latte with almond milk was also delicious. Prices are reasonable. Very unexpected but I actually enjoyed the matcha here! One of my girlfriends makes the long walk here every morning to get a Coconut Cloud Matcha Latte and I couldn't understand the hype. I know there's always a bunch of people in front of this little shack stand ordering coffee or teas. But my girlfriend used to frequent Ars or Daily Whisk and raved about their matcha, but I was pretty disappointed every time I went to either café. I poo-pood this place until recently when I went to Pai Cafe to compare their matcha to the Coconut Cloud Matcha here - wow..the matcha they use at Better Daze tastes significantly better. The coconut foam taste is a nice added layering flavor. I've had so much matcha recently, but I think this one stood out in a good way. Probably up there with the ones I had at Cooke St and Cha to Zen. Still on the hunt for the perfect matcha on island! read more

The girls at this spot are very friendly and even offered me a sticker on the house as a congratulations for my engagement :) this is in a corner of a parking lot so have fun finding parking if it's busy otherwise great walking location! read more

One of the best coffee shops on the island. A nice 15 min walk from central Waikiki for a great cup of latte every morning during my week-long stay was so worth it. Coffee tasted soo good! I'm a simple girl who got an iced latte with no sweetener but I can tell from the first sip it was gonna be great! The ladies behind the counter is super kind and friendly. Been wanting to try this little coffee spot for quite some time. Located right next to Ono seafood there is minimal parking depending what time you come. Their menu is pretty extensive for a little coffee shack - lots of variety and good drinks to choose from. I like that they had a handful of matcha options! We got the Mushroom Elixir and Coconut Cloud matcha. I thought the mushroom elixir would've been more earthy but it actually tasted great considering how it also tasted strong. The coconut cloud was sweeter than I like but still good if you need a pick me up. We also got the banana ulu bread. I felt the texture was a little mushy and I probably wouldn't buy it again. It wasn't gross tasting just an interesting texture. read more

I was so sure I reviewed Better Daze in Kapahulu before, but apparently not! This cute business is located in the same lot as Ono Seafood. They have an adorable set up with plants and seats by the business. All of the drinks I tried here are delicious! My current fave is the coconut cloud matcha, and I'm not even the biggest fan of coconut. Absolutely delicious and well made! The baristas are always so sweet and lovely. Only downside is it can get pricey, but totally worth the occasional treat! Check them out and support local! read more

Better Daze is tucked away in a shack in the same parking lot as Ono's Seafood. I will say that this is one of the worst parking lots to get stuck in and it can get pretty packed knowing how famous Ono's is. I would say this is the ONLY downfall to this business. However, there is some street parking behind the lot as well as parking stall at the business plaza next door, but this does request payment if you aren't visiting a business within this plaza before or after your trip to Better Daze. There are so many great coffee and matcha shops within the Kaimuki and Kapahulu area, but the one thing that outshines this place from all the other is the Coconut Cloud Foam. This is basically a haupia whipped cold foam that adds +5 points to any drink it's on top of. I would love to try all their other drinks, but I always end up ordering either the coconut cloud matcha or the coconut cloud cold brew. Great service, staff is always friendly and super cute outdoor seating. It is kind of small, but it is a shack in a parking lot, so nothing too crazy. I recently had a friend from the Bay visit and she requested to grab some matcha. I ended up taking her here and after her first sip she said was "Kira, this is fire." What more do I need to add? read more

Such a cute kiosk!!! Right by know seafood on the corner. You can see them from the main road. The parking is very small and tight so go on a good time lol I got their local honey & cinnamon iced latte and it tasted like the cereal Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Super good. I like my coffee strong so I would add another shot if you wanna taste the coffee taste but just like that was alright too. Not too sweet, just right. The worker there was super sweet. She was friendly and patient. She made my drink super fast. They also have food there. I know I seen banana bread and I think acai bowls. They even have matcha and teas. It's a cute little shack. I ordered a coconut cloud matcha. I was very disappointed. There was no coconut water at all. It was made with milk. Maybe in California when I order coconut matcha it's with coconut water and matcha but maybe here it's different. It was more of just a matcha with milk and whip cream on top. I'm so glad I tried something experimental cause that was simply delicious with just the perfect hint of cinnamon. The girls are super sweet and nice I feel like maybe my standards for matcha are just too high? As an Asian American. I like my matcha drinks to be strong flavor and delicious. This matcha cloud was subtle and milky...(I personally don't think the oat milk flavor should be the strongest flavor of the drink) the drink recipe was honestly a 5/10 mid. Not enough matcha, not enough haupia. After the tsunami alert yesterday, life is too short for mid matcha. Sadly I would not get it again or recommend. But it's a super cute spot and nice girls, they still added more matcha and sweetner to my drink and it still wasn't enough. For Hawaii being so close to Japan I have much higher expectations for the matcha out here. Maybe I am looking at the wrong places. But I'm sure their other drinks are good! Better Daze is a small charming coffee trailer off of Kapahulu. I ordered the iced honey cinnamon latte. Substituted whole milk with oat milk for an extra $1. They weren't too busy, so my order was ready in 5 minutes. They also had a small table and a few chairs outside where I could wait. The latte was creamy and not too sweet. They are conveniently open early, so I can stop by before work and I will definitely come back to try their matcha or chai. The only inconvenience is that they share a lot with Ono Seafood and parking is limited, so I used metered parking and walked. read more

This is a cute little spot for coffee or matcha! This coffee stand is located along Kapahulu in a parking lot, and there's some parking available in the small lot it's located in (if not, you'll have to hunt for street parking or park in the adjacent lot). There is some outdoor seating available right next to store. The stand itself is super small and cute, painted in a bright robin's egg blue! I ordered the honey matcha with oat milk, and the girl working the stand was super sweet and helpful! My drink came out promptly, and overall I liked it! It was a little too sweet for my taste, or alternatively I wish the matcha flavor was stronger, but the drink was smooth with a pleasant matcha flavor. I'd be interested in coming back to try their cloud matcha! read more

It's a cute trailer cafe. Came here on a late Sunday morning and we were lucky to park right in front. We ordered the Coconut Cloud Matcha and Lavender Matcha. I liked the coconut whip on top but the entire drink was too sweet for me. I was looking for a bolder taste of the matcha to stand up from the dairy. The banana bread was good. Been wanting to try this spot for quite some time, but it is far of a drive from the Westside. Finally got to try it this past weekend when I was close in the area with friends. You will see the stand as you drive down Kapahulu. Parking might be tight as it shares with the same area with Ono Seafood. But people should be going in and out, if you don't mind waiting. We were there on a Saturday and it wasn't too bad. There are a couple tables out front of the stand if you want to enjoy your drink for a bit. Love the greenery near the stand also. I hope maybe someday they can open a storefront (if that goes along with the plan). But I can see the vibe that they are going for. The drinks were worth the drive out. Definitely mix in the coconut cloud to taste the flavor in the Matcha. Not too sweet, which I like. You're able to modify the milk, for my fellow non-dairy drinkers hehe. It's a smooth mix and I hope to come again to try a different drink. read more

Nice little coffee/matcha spot in Honolulu! We tried the Vanilla Bean Matcha Latte and the Coconut Cloud Matcha. The Vanilla Bean was pretty good mild in flavor and could've been a bit creamier for my taste, but still enjoyable. The Coconut Cloud Matcha had great flavor too, and while I also wished it was a bit creamier, the combo of coconut and matcha was awesome. Service was excellent the barista was super nice and helpful, which made the experience even better. I'd definitely come back, especially for the Coconut Cloud Matcha Latte! read more

I got here and parked right outside at just about 7, and the lights were dimmed and the door was closed and locked. There was no sign on the door about any sort of emergency closure or anything for the day, and in fact there was a young employee who was still in there and I know he saw me and he quickly scurried into the back probably to not have to reopen and help me out. I even called the store directly while I was standing outside to see if he'd answer the phone and he just let it ring. I get it Google store hours can sometimes be wrong due to lack of update but even the physical store hour sign says 8pm. And it's not like I showed up 5 minutes before closed, I was there a whole hour before posted closing. It was a waste of my time and gas money to have to deal with this, and I just want the owner of this shop to be aware of employees potentially taking advantage by closing up shop before they should. I was looking to spend about $150 this trip and that's a sale that just doesn't happen when employees don't open the door for customers despite the posted hours.

After a long day of travel, I picked up an Amazon package here then stayed specifically to use the cafe/bar outlets to charge my dead phone so I could safely navigate the 50 minute walk back to my hotel. Every single outlet in the cafe and bar area is broken. When I asked for help, a team member named John was kind enough to charge my phone behind the counter but noted he couldn't be responsible for it. Because I was in visible physical distress and struggling to stand still due to POTS, I sat on the floor nearby to stay with my property while it charged. A supervisor named Taylor approached me and immediately escalated the situation. Instead of showing an ounce of empathy for a customer who was clearly disabled, she told me I "couldn't sit on the floor." When I asked if I could stand instead, she remained hostile and dismissive. She then claimed I couldn't use the outlets because they were "connected to the registers" and that plugging in a phone could lead to "hacking." As someone with a Master's in STEM and a career in IT, I can tell you that is technically impossible and an embarrassing, tech-illiterate excuse to use to mask poor facility maintenance. Taylor's behavior was unprofessional and frankly, a massive power-trip. If you need a functioning outlet or basic human decency in a multi-million dollar flagship store, go somewhere else. Taylor clearly values "store optics" over the actual safety and well-being of her customers.
