I also really like the deep-fried tako, although I do wish they gave more pieces as the portion is very small. I only got 6 pieces last time. The fried chicken nuggets were a little dry, but worked better with the curry. The gyoza tasted more like store-bought than homemade, although they were fried nicely and crispy. The rice was fluffy. The chicken katsu, made more like tonkatsu, also wasn't my favorite. I prefer the lighter, crispier panko breading of traditional tonkatsu, while this felt more like fried chicken with some panko. We ordered it spicy, and the guy described it as more of a peppery spice--and he was spot on. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back specifically for the curry, but it's a busy spot with lots of locals, so it may be worth trying for yourself.

The curry has that wonderful, authentic, like homemade taste. The rice was cooked to absolute perfection, creating like a seamless blend. It is deeply satisfying and will definitely leave you happily full. The space feels like a charming little neighborhood café, yet it manages to comfortably seat a decent crowd inside. Combined with the wonderfully upbeat, friendly staff and top-notch food, it's an all-around win. We loved every bit of our visit, and I hope you all check it out and enjoy it just as much as we did!

The sign said they have over a hundred locations in Japan; but as far as I know, this is the only one in Hawaii. The curry is really delicious; it is different than the regular Japanese curry, it's much darker, thicker and more intense flavor, but not too spicy. The pork katsu and shrimps are fried to perfection, crispy and tender. You can choose the size of rice, but the size of the katsu is the same. The curry comes with a pile of refreshing shredded cabbage, a perfect accompaniment for the rich curry. The prices are very reasonable. According to the poster, it took more than 55 hours to make the curry. They only sell beer at Go Go, but you can buy other drinks in the market. You order and pay at the counter, and you can eat in the open seating area, shared by a few other restaurants. The area is bright, spacious and very clean. There are lots parking in the International Market Place; you can get it validated if you spent $25 or more at the first floor customer service counter by the elevators. The first hour is free and $3 for each additional hours. It is probably one of the cheapest places to park in Waikiki.

I knew I was going to eat an actual dinner not too long after so I went for the pork tonkatsu curry and a side of Mac salad. They had a deal for like $3-4 more to get both pork and chicken, I should've done that. The curry is pretty dark in color but deep in flavor. I told them it was for dine-in but they still put it into a takeout container, which I wasn't a fan of bc it takes away the crispiness of the tonkatsu. I definitely wish they put more curry bc it was the star of the show. The Mac salad was so bland though and tasted like empty air, definitely wouldn't order again. Overall, solid meal that I wouldn't mind eating again. Don't know if I'd go out of my way for it , but it did what it needed to do to satisfy the tonkatsu craving.

The beef was also very flavorful. The gyoza were just okay--not bad, but nothing special. Service was good and our food came out pretty quickly. I'd definitely come back here again for lunch. The chicken is always crispy, a bit sweet, and super juicy! It balances out the slightly spicy and salty curry. We also love that there's vegetables in the curry (carrots & potatoes). We love that the curry comes in a separate container so no soggy chicken! We've also tried their gyoza which is always crispy and has a lot of filling inside. There is walk-ins but I wouldn't risk it The food was incredibly fresh. As it goes without saying, when you're in Hawaii you're as close to eating the freshest seafood as you can without being in Japan. We both ended up getting their Signature Negitoro Bowl but the Tokujo version which has Salmon Roe + Snow Crab + Uni and added a fresh Yolk Soy Sauce. Because why not have the Lamborghini of Negitoro bowls while you're visiting here. Along with that I ended up with a half sized udon miso soup and my wife a crab miso soup. As you can see in the pictures the food came out looking just like it did on the menu, no false advertising there. The egg soy sauce was a perfect creaminess that complimented the saltiness of the Uni and Salmon Roe. Once you mix everything together there's even added house made soy sauce on the side of your want more saltiness back but add some yuzu ginger with each bite and you get that perfect blend of flavor. There's fish was insanely fresh and had zero fishy smell or taste. The rice underneath was cooked well and the side squares of nori was perfect to make our own hand rolls. There's no alcohol served but they allow you walk 15 steps outside to the nearby convenience store where they have the cutest little dog and bring in your own beer or sake. There's miso soup was good and warms you up, but will say the corner we sat on had the AC blasting (which we're not complaining) but it did cool down our soups a little faster than we could enjoy so in the end my wife's crab miso did get a little salty. But overall the food was amazing, service was friendly and vibes were warm. Absolutely will come back the next time we're in Oahu.
