    Tan tan

Recommend! First time trying this place and I was impressed by the quality and presentation of the place. I ordered the tan tan noodles. Soup was very tasty and the noodles were perfect chewy texture. I wish the char sui was a little fattier but all in all, definitely recommend. The spicy cucumber had a little kick but we thought it needed a little more salt or soy sauce. The popcorn shrimp was a little salty but worth getting. We joked that if you ate the cucumber and shrimp together, it would have been salted perfectly. Staff were really friendly. This is located in a little shopping mall next to kahala mall, so plenty of parking is available.

Located near Brug Bakery by Kahala Mall, the Broth Bar is a delicious find for the lunch crowd. I recommend the cucumber starter, with its spicy flavors bringing heat to the cold crunch. The tofu carpaccio is another yummy symphony of flavors, textures, and heat. French fries are the shoestring kind, deliciously salty and crisp. So I skipped the handmade ramen noodles but did indulge in the vegan tan tan broth. Did you know you can order just the broth? Since I've already been back twice in two weeks, I'd say I will be back again!

I'd been waiting to come here ever since they opened, and I finally made it in. I ordered the Shoyu Ramen, which is my favorite style. I don't know why tonkotsu is taking over the ramen world, but I still stand by shoyu. The ramen came out about five minutes after I ordered, and I was happy that it was actually hot--not just warm, which happens at a lot of places. The broth wasn't greasy, the charsiu was tasty, and the ajitama was delicious. This is definitely the kind of comfort ramen I'd eat back home in Japan. Enough said. I'll be back.

First time we tried this place and we came today we were the only customers at the moment so we were intimately served with great enthusiasm. The service and the tabling are really high end. The restaurant looks amazing and great for parties, families, and just to go on a date. The food is good, but I am being biased coz I always eat noodles at my favorite place and everywhere else for me is second. However, I have to say this is really good! The serving is large.

    Chicken Kaarage - Perfection!!

Excellent friendly service in a great space. They really care about their food here. The Chicken Karaage was my favorite I've ever eaten in all of Hawaii and even Japan. Large juicy pieces of chicken with the perfect amount of breading and a delicious dipping sauce. Must get! The Miso Ramen was rich, bright, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. You don't usually get rich and bright in the same broth. The Vegan Tantan Ramen was absolutely outstanding. The soy milk broth was thick and flavorful. Even if you're not vegan, it's packed with bold flavors and is a must-try. The Broth Bar lives up to its name. Extremely well crafted broth that compliments everything that you get in the bowl.

I've managed to take multiple friends here to eat for dinner and they've all been impressed with everything The Broth Bar has to offer; from the warm welcome from the attentive staff to the clean, modern ambiance and the unforgettable flavors and aromas each dish provides. My friend said she's been dreaming about her next visit since her 1st experience here and I said that's exactly how I felt my 1st time. If you've just finished a meal and are already planning and looking forward to your next visit; that's when you know you've found a winner. We're here all the time and can't wait for our next visit to The Broth Bar; always fresh and affordable with delightfully generous portions to feed the whole family!!

Went in early morning at opening. No waiting but they do have on-line reservations. They also have a wait list pad if you walk-in. Tables are set with chop sticks, soup spoons, napkins and wet towel to freshen up before eating. Place has a update, clean and bright Japanese feel. Ordered one original and one original deluxe with the hot sauce on the side. The only difference is that the deluxe has more egg, seaweed and char siu. Plus some crunchy fungus (looks like sliced, Chinese call elephant ear). Broth is not clear and very tasty. A little salty but it balances out when you have it with the noodles. Egg is cooked perfectly and the char siu is lean and soft. Gyoza is tasty but, alittle soft for me. I use the hot sauce fr om my noodles as a sauce for the gyoza. Pros: I like that you can make reservation on line or sign in on the wait list. It's a nice touch to have a wet towel to freshen up before your meal. Service was fast and friendly. The meal was very filling. Cons: The gyoza was a little too soft for me. Parking is not the best. There was alot of pick-up only stalls. Would I go back? Yes I would if I was in the neighborhood. It's out of my way from home.

Finally got to try the broth bar and they didn't disappoint! Settings comes with oshibori and a pretty decent cloth... fancy! Located outside of Kahala mall by McDonald's, brug, right next to Share Tea. Lots of parking at Kahala mall, the immediate parking doesn't have many stalls and is a little tight when big vans park there. Service was awesome! Always asking if we were ok or if we needed anything, brought lots of boxes take out bags. Appetizers and ramen came out fast ! Most hot and cold appetizers are $10 and less, which nowadays seems rare to be $10 or less. We tried the gyoza, karaage chicken, and truffle fries and decently sized! Chicken karaage was crispy and super juicy served with a spicy mayo sauce. The table across had ordered won ton chips and spicy ahi which looked good! Kids meals were a deal $10 curry rice or ramen with 2 karaaage chicken or 3 gyoza and a capri sun. The ramen came with 1/2 egg 1 piece or pork and corn. And the broth was good too more like a shoyu Original ramen $18 1/2 egg, 1 pork, 1 nori. Original deluxe 1 egg , 3 pork, 3 nori $20. Loved the broth, it was thick flavorful, packed with flavor! Take out containers allow you to separate the broth from the noodles so then your leftovers aren't all soggy! They also give you a nice bag to take it home, Restrooms are outside towards the corner, need to ask for the key. Please support this business would love to see them stick around and will definitely be back to try some other items! Finally got some good tonkotsu ramen out this side!

Excellent food, service and value Curry was tasty, as was the chicken. Kids portions are adequate. The guys had spicy ramen and really enjoyed it. The have high quality utensils and tableware. Very clean restaurant Staff is very friendly and efficient. I will be back!

I had pretty high expectations for this place because I'd heard they put a lot of effort into making their own noodles to match their tonkotsu broth. For me, the broth was a little lighter than I expected. I usually prefer a thicker, richer Hakata-style tonkotsu, so this might just come down to personal preference. Noodles were good but not the best. The karaage and gyoza were both good though, and I'd still say it's worth trying if you like a lighter tonkotsu.

Conveniently located at Kahala Mall, there is a lot of parking. I came here for dinner on a weeknight with my family. There were others dining, but it wasn't crowded for a weeknight. It's a casual restaurant and good for families and small groups. There is a variety of items to choose from besides ramen. My boys enjoyed the kids menu items, which included ramen and a chicken karaage set. I really enjoyed the broth's flavors, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The appetizers were also good. The service was also friendly. The bathroom is located outside of the restaurant. You need to ask them for the bathroom key. Overall, we enjoyed the food and will be back! Happy Eating!

The Original at the bottom and Spicy Vegan at the back.

Came for lunch on a Friday and there was a queue. Easy to check in at the counter using the Yelp check in app and they text you when your table is ready. The interior is bright but not very large which is also why there was a queue. There are tables just outside with shade where you can wait comfortably. We got chicken karaage and popcorn shrimp, both were really good and very generous portions. For our mains, we got the Spicy Vegan and The Original. The broths were really rich and delicious. The only issue we had was that they were severely understaffed. Only two aunties in the kitchen and one guy on the floor. He did a great job checking people in, taking orders, bringing drinks etc but we waited almost 25 minutes for a table even though there was one vacant table there, it needed to be cleaned. Drinks took a long time to come out but again, simply down to not being properly staffed. When we left, the aunties called out good bye and the service was very friendly. Just a shame that the guy had to run to floor on his own. I hope today was a one off and we will probably be back because the food was really good. Parking is easy, if you can't find a spot in the large carpark in front, Kahala Mall carpark is across the road.

Pleasantly surprise how good it is. Noodle was perfect. Pupus was good. Gyoza was good too. Service was good. They were short handed I could tell but they did their best l. Ambiance was relax.

I would save your money and spend it at the grocery market next door because they fresher better food, nicer staff, cheaper, and outside seating. Service: 2/5 extremely slow and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. Only a couple of people at the bar and a group of friends at one table but they had dishes piled on their table and had already finished eating. Aside from the char Siu plate that came out within 7 mins or so, the rest took about 30 minutes. I would understand if it was busy but there was no one else actively eating or ordering besides us. We waited so long and ended drinking all my water in anticipation. Waiter didn't even check on us in the meantime to refill our waters or give an update on our order. I just saw him chatting off and on with the bar tender, walking around hanging out at other tables pretending to work. HELLO?! Are you serving invisible guests? When the rest of the orders finally came out, he finally refilled our waters...I was already annoyed and the food was just ok. Waiter wasn't rude but was probably high or something, mumbled a lot, barely spoke to us and was super slow... Ambience: 2/5 seems like a nice place to hangs with friends but the seats look dirty and stained Rainbow Roll: 3/5 - the fish was fresh and rice was decent, tasted just as expected. It's only $2 less during happy hour than original menu price ($23) so it's still pretty pricey. Nothing too special they use imitation crab so don't think it's worth it for $21. Soft Shell crab roll: 2/5 - this was the plainest roll I've ever tasted, it kind of looks the way it taste. The rice wasn't bad but there was no flavor whatsoever. I had to load it with a bunch of soy sauce. $18 on happy, too pricey. Signature Oiishi Ramen: 2/5 - This was a popular dish on yelp so gave it a try and was disappointed. The ramen was basic at best, not horrible but it tastes like something you can make at home. Nothing special about the noodles or broth, and the presentation was sloppy. You get a bunch of cabbage and two char Siu slices but other toppings are extra. $19.50 is not worth it. Char Siu Plate: 5/5 this was the best dish and it came out fast. The char Siu was seasoned well on top of bean sprouts and chives. I normally don't eat bean sprouts but it was very tasty. The char Siu was even better than the one on the ramen.

I asked for another bowl and he wasn't so happy, the gyoza sauce was not even filled so I needed another sauce, same thing. After this I am done, good thing I carry my own chili sauce- not going to ask for spices from him. hehe. The verdict, might not be a good idea to go to a business when they are about to close, the ramen noodles were very overcooked, the fried rice taste old, reheated, bland, the gyoza had a sour spoiled taste from the cabbage. So disappointed. The only thing we enjoyed was the broth! Glad we only got one set to try. Well, not the same Ezogiku we fell in love with 20+ years ago, on University!
