I've had a bite of their spaghetti back in the day and tried some of their fried chicken at a potluck but I've never actually ordered from Jollibee. Due to many random targeted videos that popped up on my feed recently, I decided to finally go check them out. I went to the Ala Moana location around noon on a weekday and the place had a line! I couldn't believe it and it was long. One of their employees walks customer to customer to take their order. They hand write your order on a Post It then hand it to you to hand to the cashier when you finally reach the cashier. It seems that everyone knew what they were going to order. When she got to me, I had to look at the menu she had on hand. She was helpful and guided me through the menu so I could order. Here's what I ordered: Fried Chicken - probably the best item on their menu. As much as I like spicy, I sort of liked their regular fried chicken more. Palabok - this dish was ok. I was told to mix everything up well including mashing the egg into it. The lemon juice definitely was a nice addition to bring acidity it. Mashed Potatoes w/Gravy - this was also ok but the extra gravy is nice to dip pieces of the fried chicken in. I would get this over the Palabok personally. Adobe Rice - I wasn't a huge fan of this as it was rather plain. It lacked flavor for me and I won't order this again. Spicy Chickenwich - this was pretty good and better than I expected. The chicken was fried well where it wasn't oily and still juicy. Peach Mango Pie - their Ube Pie was what I wanted but they didn't have it so I ordered their Peach Mango pie. I personally didn't care for it much and won't order it again. It was a great cultural experience for me to finally check out Jollibee. I think I'll just stick to restaurants that offer Filipino food going forward. Jollibee is not my cup of tea. The bucket of fried chicken might be something I would bring to a potluck but Jollibee is an easy option for Filipino "fast food". read more

I decided to finally try out Jolibee after months of putting it off. I always come to Ala Moana and pass by the Jolibee in the 1st floor food court, but never thought anything of it. Until I decided to make good on that in an October 2025 visit. Jolibee Ala Moana is always crazy and often boasts a long line. When I was there, I had to wait about 15 minutes in line to get to the register. First impressions is that it was certainly popular and had to wait to order. It was about a 30 minute experience. 15 minutes to wait to get to the counter and 15 minutes waiting for my order to be ready. I ended up getting the 6 piece fried chicken bucket for around $20.00, which was a decent deal. Most fried chicken in Hawaii is around $2 or $3 per piece. And so, I decided to just finally find out. After ordering, I walked a few steps to the waiting area. Waited about 10 minutes before my order was ready and walked into the crowded food court seating area to eat. I ended up getting drinks from Jack In the Box nearby. For the most part though, the experience was basic fast food with a long wait, but as it turned out the chicken was top shelf. I couldn't believe that. A level above Popeyes, but that's just me. The overall experience here at Jolibee's at Ala Moana shopping center could be quantified as being typical fast food counter service, like McDonald's or Burger King. While I wanted to specifically sample the fried chicken that day, there were other items on the menu that seemed to warrant some looking into, but that's for another visit. Just thought I'd finally try out their fried chicken. While the prices were on par with other restaurants that offer fried chicken, Jolibee does it better, especially how they season it and how the meat is moist under the breading after they fry it. That's how you do fried chicken for reals. The service here was typical, but the service could be improved, since how popular they are. If you are in the area and craving fried chicken, consider coming to Jolibee's and compare what you've been missing all along. Definitely recommended it if you feel tired from the places you get your fried chicken fix. Consider this a great opportunity to jazz it up. Jolibee at Ala Moana shopping center is located in the 1st floor food court, nearby is Hagen Daz ice cream and Jack in the Box. It's pretty cute how they have the waiting area, but it sucks that the wait can be more than 5 minutes. It's physically located at 1450 Ala Moana Boulevard, Honolulu. They accept major credit cards as well as cash. As far as parking goes, there's literally a lot of parking at Ala Moana shopping center. Choose a spot that's close enough to where you can order and pick up. Not sure if they have mobile ordering though. If you are like me, best bet would be to find bus routes that terminate at Ala Moana shopping center, which is a lot of them. And if you need to, Uber or Lyft is at your service as well. I've probably found the hidden gem when it comes to commercially available fried chicken. The holy grail of perfect heat and seasoning and moist meat underneath is always welcomed and cherished. This past weekend, I tried Jollibee food for the first time, and I was more than satisfied! I had their 2-piece Chickenjoy w/ a 2-piece Burger Steak with Mushroom Gravy, 1 Side dish (Mashed Potatoes) & 1 Drink (Pineapple Chiller), with their Peach/Mango pie for dessert. And everything was delicious! I am a fan of Jollibee and it's with a sad heart that write this review. I usually get their chicken à la carte, because they are so delicious! However, on this day, I received two thigh pieces that were very dry and had very little meat to them. I was so disappointed, as I truly look forward to their chicken with gravy. Not to sound racist, but I was waiting a very long time for my order. Then I started noticing that customers, who were of Filipino ancestry, that came after me, was getting their orders faster and quicker than me. I inquired, and the person told me "Your order isn't ready yet." How can a simple order be "not ready yet" when others were getting their food BEFORE me? A Filipino friend of ours posted about this spot and I've been wanting to try it ever since. It's a Filipino fast food chain that you can find in a few cities in the US. We weren't even planning to have it here, but when we saw it across from the spot we were eating at, we had to try it. We got a 2 Piece Spicy Chickenjoy & Jolly Spaghetti. I loved all of it. The spice on the chicken was very flavorful and it's served with a tasty gravy. The spaghetti isn't your typical American spaghetti. It's on the sweeter side and I really enjoyed it. You will not believe it, but yesterday was the first time I ever went to a Jollibee! After all these years hearing about it from friends, seeing it on Yelp and FB and even a show with Anthony Bourdain, I finally went there. We wait at least 15 min for my order. So my order was not ready on time. This place is a piece of work. There can be a language barrier at times and there are also issues with hygiene issues as it relates to food service. I went there and a worker left the food area and went out to the tables. When she returned to the food area, she never washed her hands and then proceeded to prepare meals for people. That's nasty!!! She didn't see anything wrong with touching tables and then touching people's food. She got upset when I asked her to wash her hands before she prepared my food. I went and ordered a meal there today and confirmed at the window what I ordered. Unfortunately, the order was incorrect which doesn't surprise me. I asked for the 2 piece Chickenjoy and I asked for it three times because they couldn't hear despite me yelling it the third time. When I asked if I should drive up they could miraculously hear me. I gave my order and paid. I confirmed that I wanted a peach mango pie, but after driving 25 minutes to get to my place, I discovered a nasty Ube pie. You may like their Une pie, but I don't. I literally spit it out and tossed it in the trash. I was so lucky to get a $1.06 credit for their incompetence. The manager on duty then proceeded to tell me I ate it when I hadn't. She is obviously needs to clean her ears or learn to listen. It's bad enough they practically throw the food into the car when you try to put your credit card or cash away.
