Just used Johnny Cab again on my vacation to Oahu last week. I had 4 transfers as we were also visiting another island. Each time I needed a transfer, I texted Johnny and he responded right away. Each transfer was on time and made excellent time whether is was going to HNL or to our hotel. This is so much better than other transfer services as you and your family are the only ones in the vehicle. You get taken to your hotel without having to make any other stops. When traveling to paradise, this is a must. I have used other services and it always took forever because of having to drop off other passengers. I will always use Johnny Cab when on Oahu! In the weeks leading up to our trip, we made arrangements to share the ride to port with a friend staying at another hotel. made reservation on sat 8/11/12 to be pickup at Honolulu airport 8/13;12 around 1200-1230, received email confirming time and day later in the day, told me where he will be waiting for my family. He was there at the time plane landed and loaded all 6 luggages in minivan. Price very reasonable for 4 since others charged by the person or $30 plus luggage charge . Johnny Cab has been the only service we have used for transportation between the airport and our home in Hawaii Kai. Reservations are easily made on line. The one-way flat rate of $50 for one or two passengers is very reasonable. The vans have always been on time, which is fairly remarkable given Honolulu traffic, and the drivers, including Johnny himself, are always friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. read more

Called him as my flight was leaving the mainland. They had a driver on the luggage claim as we arrived. Price was a flat rate $50 from the airport. Seemed to be about as much as a cab when we later took the route but the confidence that we had someone who could take the whole family and the luggage was a peace of mind. Used Johnny Cab in May '14 while vacationing from Maui. He tracked our flight, was exactly on time, super friendly and helpful, had a nice vehicle, and was a knowledgeable and safe driver. We actually chose to call John after reading Yelp reviews, and we were not disappointed! It was easy to book his service, and not only was he prompt, but I texted him 15 min early and said we were ready any time, and it turned out he was on his way, so he was there in 1 minute. I had great communications with Johnny when I originally booked a trip to the airport. Unfortunately my plans changed and I had to cancel the trip. I was very disappointed by the unprofessional response that I got directly from Johnny. To be fair, with all of the changes to my original travel plans causing chaos at home, I forgot to contact Johnny until the night before when he texted me with the name of the driver and pick up time. I should have contacted him earlier. But still, the response I received was unprofessional and made the situation that much worse. I won't be contacting this company again for travel. read more

Seriously the best. He was very responsive to my email and text messages, even when I needed a ride super last minute. His rates are fair, definitely better than using an Uber or taxi. Thanks Johnny for the great ride from our hotel to the airport....for free! We had a mixup with our tour group shuttle for which we had already paid a round trip ride. When I called that group to tell them our pickup time, I had somehow unknowingly called the wrong number on the group's flyer, made the appointment for 8:30 the next evening. When John showed up as scheduled...with our name...and the other shuttle did not, he was very kind and allowed us to call the group we had paid, but they said they had already been to our pickup at 9:30 that morning, so huh? Johnny offered us a free ride since he was on the way to pick some people up at the airport already. Didn't even want to take our tip! Good guy! Made it a fun, friendly ride. P.S. Saw Toya T.'s bad review and thought to myself, he WAS being reliable and professional to the next customers. He was there on time expecting them to be ready and SHE was making him late (I know that sometimes 'I'll be ready in 5 minutes means 10-15 cause I, too, am a procrastinator!) so basically he was reliable to his airport customer as well as reliable to her by getting his other taxi friend that he works with every day to come get her. They were no show when we arrived in Honolulu, 8/10, called and waited 1 hr then had to take a cab seems due to a bad driver John had asked to fill in. Got call back when in cab, John V. Smith offered to make it up with free ride back to airport. He was a man of his word, and was prompt, courteous service back to airport 8/17, and fee to make it right. My husband and I called around to all the Waikiki shuttle services. We desperately needed a shuttle service pick up for 5:30am. Most shuttle services were $35 and not flexible with pick up times. However, Johnny Cab picked us up right on time and charged us $25 flat rate. He was a great driver and friendly service. I'm so happy we found this service! I booked Johnny Cab for a pick up at Honolulu Airport and a return for my families Spring Break Vacation. The website indicates a fee of a flat rate of $25.00. During our correspondence the rate offered was $30.00 from Honolulu Airport to our hotel which was located on the far side of the Waikiki Strip. Our flight arrived on time and Johnny Cab was waiting in the pickup area. Within 20 minutes we were at our hotel. So far great service. The driver of Johnny Cab requested we text our Cell Phone number so the service could verify the return pick up time and ride back to the Honolulu Airport. We did this while on the trip to the hotel and the driver verified the text message. The day before we were to leave my wife text message Johnny Cab to get a verification of the time of our pickup. We received no response. Later in the evening we did the same, no response. Our flight was a red eye leaving at 12:00 in the evening. We still hadn't heard anything from Johnny Cab so once again my wife sent a text message and called and left a voice message. After walking through Duke's Market for a couple of hours and having dinner we still hadn't received any message from Johnny Cab. Too late for a shuttle and feeling frustrated I told my wife to call a cab. We sent a text message and voice message to Johnny Cab cancelling their pickup. It just wasn't worth the anxiety wondering if Johnny Cab would ever arrive. I would not recommend Johnny Cab or use their services again. read more
