The Cab has always been the company we've been using for years and the service we receive is no different and with a flat rate depending on location for Kama'āina is a great deal regardless though with the price of gas does make the cost a challenge as we drive on the freeway with all windows down all the primping I've done now look like a hot mess lol! Not having to drive is a service I don't get to enjoy very much so it was refreshing to enjoy and not focus on the road and actually write this review, our driver came promptly at the time requested making our transit a smooth process. Per 1st phone conversation with dispatcher, she can request for sedan and suggested I could call back at 9:30 am if no sedans were available. At 9:30 am, my reservation changed to open for van or sedan. 1st driver C came in a van and didn't park close enough to sidewalk. My sister had to use her step to help mom into van. Driver drops us at Queens POB III. Per 2nd conversation with dispatcher, she requested for sedan which was pretty high. Driver D didn't have step stool so I helped mom into car. She asked us which route that we wanted to go. When we arrived at home, she helped hold my mom's wheelchair. This is, without question, one of the worst transportation services I have ever dealt with. The most concerning part is that this company is contracted through Transdev to provide medical transportation for patients who rely on their insurance to get to critical medical appointments. As someone who helps coordinate care for patients with serious medical needs, I cannot emphasize enough how unacceptable and unreliable this service has been. Drivers frequently fail to show up for scheduled pickups. We have had multiple situations where patients are physically standing outside waiting, only to be told that the driver "arrived" or "called" when neither of those things actually happened. Patients are then left stranded. Because of this, patients have missed extremely important medical appointments--some that they waited months to get. These are not casual errands. These are cardiology visits, specialty consults, and follow-ups that are essential to their health. When a transportation company fails to do its job, it directly impacts patient care and creates unnecessary stress for people who are already dealing with serious health conditions. Communication is another major issue. Many drivers are difficult to communicate with, interactions can become confrontational, and there is little to no customer service. Calling dispatch rarely solves anything. We are often told that a driver is on the way, only for no one to ever arrive. Medical transportation requires professionalism, reliability, and compassion. Unfortunately, this company demonstrates none of those qualities. Patients who are sick, disabled, or managing chronic medical conditions should not be abandoned by the very service that is supposed to help them access healthcare. At this point, serious changes need to happen. A company providing medical transportation should be held to a much higher standard than this. read more

The drivers are no issue at all, its the receptionist(s) horrible. Cant understand one word and being that its Hawaii the names of places told her the name spelt it out and still somehow insisted her way of spelling. Would be great to have receptionist(s) that are already actually familiar with city names instead of arguing with me and asking me what city when im not the one infront of a computer when I provided the address and im not from here. Great customer service over the phone! So easy to schedule a pickup and edit it as needed. Courteous and easy to understand. Driver was a bit rough and forgetful. Luckily the office and desk staff made up for it. Payment over the phone was smooth. No concerns about the pricing. They offer assistance for wheelchairs if needed. read more

****BEWARE WHEELCHAIR PASSENGERS We had 2 rides with The Cab. 1st one from the airport to downtown Waikiki. It was amazing. The driver was fantastic & went above & beyond. He was on time. Called us to check-in upon arrival. I can't say enough wonderful things about the service & ride. He was so good, I called the day before we left to arrange a ride at 4am. I was concerned about the time, but the dispatcher said she'd have a driver there with an accessible van for my disabled father at 4am. The short version: the van wasn't accessible. I called The Cab & the morning dispatcher said there was already another booking for the accessible van. So, looks like they just have 1 accessible van. Totally fine, but I let the dispatcher know when you're dealing with wheelchairs & your van is unavailable, it's best to let them know. We always use the taxi co. with the flat rate. Using The Cab, not only did we risk injury to my elderly father getting him in & out of the van before a 5 hr. flight home, but we were charged more than had we taken our usual taxi. Called and made a reservation for a handi-cab last Tuesday for my husband to get a ride home from dialysis on Thursday and Saturday. On Thursday, he was done 20 minutes early so I called to see if the driver could come sooner. Dispatcher said they didn't have the reservation but she would send someone. Waited 45 minutes. Hubby was very upset. I called on Saturday morning to cancel the driver for that day in case they happen to have it still on their agenda. Dispatcher said no reservation seen. Awe, when we came out of dialysis, there was the driver. Poor guy was waiting! Drivers are super nice but the dispatchers need to get it together! 12:40pm 12/3/2025 on Young Street between Piikoi and Keeamoku - I watched TheCab white minivan honking repeatedly at another car for waiting for someone to back into their private driveway. Insanely rude since the driver couldn't go anyway. After the car backed into their driveway, I witnessed TheCab driver continue to blare his horn down Young Street. At the light on Keeamoku, TheCab driver got out of his vehicle and verbally assaulted the other driver. This isn't the first time I've seen erratic driving and rude behavior. DO NOT USE THE CAB. Last time we will ever try to use this company. We made a reservation to pick us up from our house to the airport, but that did not happen. We were waiting for over an hour for a cab. It took awhile to get in contact with someone to figure out what's going on. When we finally got in contact, the lady on the phone said there are no drivers close by. What is the point of making a reservation in advance?!?! Absolutely terrible experience. I called for my dad because he can't drive after his appointment, and the woman on the phone Jenn, with a strong Filipino accent was absolutely no help at all. She kept talking over me, wouldn't let me ask a simple question (we're NEW to this company), and then had the nerve to hang up on me not once, but TWICE after I asked for her name. In general, most of THE CAB's independent drivers are well-meaning - EXCEPT when they, 1. have no general knowledge of city locations, streets and/or traffic conditions, 2. close doors remotely without first checking if all passengers are INSIDE, 3. are hard of hearing or not willing to listen to instructions, 4. MUST USE gps to find street intersections, 5. have NO DRIVING SKILLS to make for a comfortable ride, 6. and named TAU TAVITA VAIAGO. Cab driving used to be a reliable, prompt, profitable, independent business - where GREAT service and personality were the ultimate recipe to profitability. Took the cab from Walmart Keeaumoku to Liliha. I asked the driver if he took card, and he told me to go into Walmart to get cash. I told him, it's okay, I'll ask the next guy. He said, okay, I take card. I shopped at Sam's and went downstairs for cab. He complained saying, "all these things and you couldn't even buy shopping bags? I told him, Sam's does not sell shopping bags. And the icing on the cake, the ride cost me almost $30 without tip. He was taking 15 miles per hour, of course!! 4/24/25 10:08am Location: DSI Dialysis Kapahulu Which ever driver of this company was there at that location decided to block the entire parking garage to drop off a patient while there were many parking stalls available. Then proceeds to throw a fit in his car while staring at me and reversing to exit the garage at the same time while I try to exit the garage. This guy was violently shaking. I don't know why he's getting mad when he's in the wrong. This guy was driving recklessly before blocking off the parking garage because I was watching him come in. We have used TheCab many times but this past time will be the last. We called for a reservation TWO days before our trip. On the day of pickup no one came. We called and were told cab was "10 minutes away in Waipahu." We live in Pearl City. 20 minutes passed and still no taxi. A second call and we were told THERE ARE NO CABS AVAILABLE. What??? I called The Cab dispatch March 31, 2025 to schedule a pick up at my house (Waikiki) 4:30am April 1, 2025, destination Daniel K. Inouye. On the morning of my ride the cab driver called me at 4:10am and said he was downstairs waiting. I told him my appointment was at 4:30pm and he said since he's already here why don't I come down. That already raised a red flag. I went downstairs to meet him at 4:20am. He was a bit rude but I didn't let that bother me. I'm sitting directly behind him, we off and he's driving way over the speed limit. What I thought was the car radio was very loud and I hear him laughing. He says something in his Middle Eastern language and laughs again. Out of curiosity I leaned forward and looked over the drivers seat and was shocked to see that he was watching a video on his smartphone! I immediately tell him I don't appreciate him watching a video while he is driving especially with me inside his cab. Reluctantly he turns off the video and continues to speed all the way to the airport. After returning from my trip I called The Cab to complain. I spoke to one of the managers. Dorothy Requilman, and filed a complaint against the driver. His name is Nfn Nuruzzman, cab #120. I told her in addition to my complaint this driver hid all of his cab ID information inside the cab. It wasn't properly displayed on his dash or on the back seat. I should have read all the reviews on Yelp before calling The Cab because there's so many negative reviews with one star ratings. This is not TheCab that some of you may remember. This is like a completely new company, and they are terrible. Snotty, mean dispatchers, drivers who do not know the City at all. Waits that can stretch to an hour. The dive down from a reliable and good company started about a year ago (2024.) First the problems started with unreliable cabs. Then the problems continued with dispatchers who have no idea what they are doing at best, and plain mean attitudes at worst. At one point I was so disgusted that I called the managing Office. They said they would talk to the dispatcher and get back to me. I waited for the callback, it never came. I had to call a friend to get me home. This is not a Taxicab company anymore. Absolutely ridiculous experience just now.... wife needs to go to the airport to attend a funeral and booked a cab several days in advance. She called today to confirm and was told they had her scheduled. Just before she had to leave, she received a notification that her cab was cancelled. Only 2 hours before her flight... You don't treat customers like this. We've always went with the original taxi companies rather than companies like Uber and such, but this may have been the last time. The customer service was awful and the driver called me and started yelling at me like it was my fault he could not find me. Even when I told him he wasn't at the right place. I had given the exact location to where I was at to not only the phone operator who was lousy, but him as well. I had used The Cab when I was living here in the 90's and their service was remarkable. We had to use this company as Kaiser Permanente pays for taxi service to & frol the hospital when here for procedures. The taxi driver was on time, a good driver, & got us to our location in a timely matter. However, the lady running the phone was rude. short. & sassy. Repeating herself as if I didn't speak English because I had a hard time understanding HER thick accent. The tone I was given over the phone was more than unnecessary. I booked a taxi twice and called to verify the reservation for a 4 AM pickup. The app showed several taxis in the area at that time, yet when 4 o'clock came, there was no taxi available. To the Management of the CAB, I am just disgusted on how some drivers, working for the CAB think or believe that they can just do whatever. Two days ago, after doing my grocery shopping at Sams Club, Keeamoku, I took a taxi (The CAB) home in Waikiki. No hello, no help to bring groceries to the taxi like most drivers are used to....nothing! (I am a disabled person) A cab from Sams Club to my home at Kuamoo Street at around 730pm or so is usually about under $10 if the cab driver is driving at a normal speed. But no, not this guy.....he drove soooo slow that I asked him why he was driving so slow....of course, I knew, he was milking the situation! Shame, shame on him!
