First time user. Guessed and accepted that the price of the ride would be a bit more than what I would pay with Uber. The main reason for choosing this company was because they offer flat rates and also provided free car seats for minors. So I made an online reservation 24hrs in advance and got a text confirmation assuring their reliability and punctuality. Come time for pick up, nobody showed up. I thought okay, maybe traffic? I ended up calling after 10 mins and the operator said the guy who was scheduled to pick us up was a no show, no call and that the closest available driver with a car seat would have taken an additional 25 mins after our call. Unfortunately, that was too long for us to wait and we had to part ways with giving them business that day. Would I entertain them in the future? I really doubt it unless I had to. I can't thank HelloCab enough; I had been to the island twice this summer and seen this cab company around but did use them, looking back I wish I had. My sister and her family's first trip was yesterday and there flight out of SFO was delayed therefore their arrive to HON was delayed needless to say there shuttle never arrived for hotel transport. My sister called me in tears because Uber and Lyft were trying to charge an arm and a leg. I had taken HelloCab's number down one and still had so I called from California and the man who's name I didn't get since everyone was in a panic was SO HELPFUL AND NICE. He told me he would head right over to the airport and pick up my sis and her family. 30 minutes later he called to confirm he had picked them up and they were on their way to the hotel.!!!! Cabs are not always more expensive than Uber/Lyft. I travel a lot and on this particular trip in Oahu I have been in all three and the two cab rides were by far the cleanest and best rides of our trip. William Nguyen was prompt and a quiet, kind and safe driver. They were honest when I called and needed a ride during a peak time frame. They said 30 minutes before I could get a ride and it was just that. They were also upfront about the flat rate price from where we were picked up to our hotel. I would call them again. read more

Avoid accepting a ride from a white van ee920 as this Foreign taxi cab driver thinks he is in New York City as he swerves around people and cuts in front of cars and in traffic will be in a lane and cut back into the wrong lane sneakily because he does not have any patience. Additionally he doesn't have any passengers so why is he in a rush. He also has no idea that he is driving in a very rude and selfish manner and if he had children of his own they probably cut in the lunch line at school everyday because that is his mentality. We didn't use this service and I doubt we ever will. We were driving on Ala Moana Blvd today with our kids in the car when a white van from this company turned right into our lane. He then had the nerve to stick tongue and cuss at us when we confronted him about almost side-swiping us. He then ran a red light to catch up to us and continued to provoke my family because we took a picture of his license plate and said we'd turn him in. This is not the type of Aloha that people in Hawaii have, and this guy sould not be a taxi driver here. read more

We wanted to get to Hanauma Bay early and beat the crowds so decided to take a cab. Their webpage advertises fixed rate of $39 and that they accept credit cards so we asked for a cab in the morning at 6:30. Cab arrived on time and the driver got us there but the meter said $44 and he wouldn't take a credit card and insisted on cash. Now was this a big deal? Not really, cost an extra $5 but it would be nice to have the information on the webpage be accurate. read more

After a very delayed flight, we arrived in Honolulu at 4am. Tired from a long travel day, I forgot the pouch containing me and my husband's passports as well as some cash in the cab. What's more astounding is that I didn't realize it until the next day. After a very stressful 45 minutes, from the time we discovered our passports were missing to the time we were reunited with them, our cab driver was at our door to drop off our pouch with all the contents still inside. When they picked us up from the airport they were on time and our driver was very personable! Unfortunately, when we scheduled for them to pick us up at 7:00 pm to be taken back to the airport a week later, our driver was nearly a half an hour late. When we called the number provided there was no answer or voicemail to leave a message for. We had to go through our previous texts/emails to contact the first driver just to get a hold of the one who was supposed to pick us up. Unfortunately when you are preparing to catch a flight you expect your cab to pick you up on time and this gave my husband and I unplanned stress. We tried to account in a half an hour of traffic time and that was taken away because our ride did not pick us up on time. Had we not had this second experience, I would have given 4-5 stars on account of our first driver's punctuality and the fact the company does a flat rate to and from the air port. read more
