The BEST! I had surgery scheduled and was nervous being in town on time. I live up a private unmarked lane in the backwoods of Waimanalo, but the driver Cahn found me with time to spare and gave me an enjoyable conversation and safe ride to my appointment. Told John I would need a ride back but wasn't sure how long before I was released. He was so sweet arranging with me and with the doctor's office for my pickup. I was heavily sedated, but John picked me up and returned me back to my nest safely. I will ONLY use JOHNNY from now on when I need someone to drive me. Excellent service like no other. I highly recommend Johnny's Cab. Making arrangements with him was very easy. He answered the phone and even corresponds with you via text. I made last minute arrangements with him to pick up a passenger that was en route to HNL. Her ride cancelled on her before departing the mainland and had no time to make alternate arrangements for pick up. I called Johnny from the mainland and asked him to do a last minute pickup and he graciously agreed to do so, unbeknownst to our passenger. She had no clue a ride was all set for her. Well as it turns out, the minute she landed and got cell service, her relative called and was able to pick her up after all. This obviously was not a good thing for Johnny who makes a living on fares. I had to apologize profusely and he was of course upset but was also still professional. I'm sure it's not the first time this situation has happened to him but I want to definitely give Johnny a big thank you for his due diligence, courtesy and professionalism. If you need a lift, this is the guy to call. He quoted a fair flat price and delivered on his promise to be where he was supposed to be. 1) It was really unprofessional being picked up by an old beat down van with two kids yelling in the back. Apparently the owner "johnny" was out for vacation and couldn't make it and had someone else pick me up. 2) The owner "johnny" would be texting on his phone while driving 3) His Website is misleading.. doesn't clarify ROUNDTRIP I went and booked on his website. I clicked on ROUNDTRIP for my girlfriend and I from Waikiki to the airport and back which came a total of $50 ON the WEBSITE for the checkout. ROUNDTRIP means to and back. My girlfriend and I get to the airport with his service and pay the $50. He only collects $25 and says he will collect the other half when we come back. I come back on time but my gf had to extend her stay in Japan because of an emergency. I pay the $25. So this means I paid the full $50 for the ROUNDTRIP. I get dropped by the an old white van to Waikiki. 2 months later ... I email him to pick up my girlfriend. I get a call from him saying she ISN'T covered. Well... Apparently his website doesn't know what ROUNDTRIP is. On his site in the checkout it said $50 for 2 people ROUNDTRIP. It would also mean he still had to pick up my girlfriend. I'm trying to support to this locally owned company because the bigger players like Hawaii Super Transit, Discount Shuttles, Rabi Trans Shuttle, and Roberts Hawaii that charge $25 Roundtrip or even less. John was PERFECT! We needed a cab to take 2 people and our luggage from Aulani Resort in Ko'olina to Hyatt Place in Waikiki on a Saturday afternoon. I called John on Thursday after calling a couple of other companies who, when asked what the rate would be, said, anywhere from $90 - $100. When I asked John how much to go the route, he asked how many people then quoted me $75. I check another recommended company, who quoted $100. I called John back the next day. He remembered who I was, confirmed the $75 and we set the reservation. On Saturday he was there to pick us up as soon as we walked out of the resort. I later realized he texted me that he had arrived a bit early, but I hadn't checked my phone, and he wasn't rushing us. He introduced himself with a big smile and a firm handshake, helped the valet with our luggage and had a step stool to help me into his taxi van. He was really a pleasant conversationalist on the way to our Waikiki hotel, and asked us if we needed any suggestions for places to eat or activities. After dropping us off, I asked how much the rate would be on Monday to go from our Waikiki hotel to the airport @ 1pm and he said $25. We made a verbal reservation, which I then followed up with and he confirmed via text on the Sunday before. He again arrived just a few minutes early and helped my husband with our luggage while I checked out of the hotel. John is a very nice, easy going guy. Very professional and I highly recommend him! Upon our arrival at the Honolulu airport, the driver contacted me directly to make sure we knew his location outside baggage claim. We used Johnny Cab to get us from HNL to our hotel in Waikiki Beach when HAWAII23 was unavailable. Great move - they agreed to pick us up with less than 24 hours notice, and we're right where they said they would be by the Tour area outside baggage claim. Our driver walked right up to us and greeted us by name before we even recognized Johnny Cab among the tour buses and limos. They must be clairvoyant, too. We left HNL at 4:30 pm, so traffic was awful. So our driver, a very pleasant Hawaiian native, gave us all sorts of local info, cultural facts, etc. made the drive breeze by despite bumper-to-bumper traffic! Based on this, we immediately books Johnny Cab to take us back to HNL the next week. On our departure date, we reconfirmed via text as requested and got a prompt confirmation back. We were to be picked up at our hotel at 3:30 pm for a 6:00 departure. So at 3:15 as we prepared to go down and check out of the hotel, we got a text saying that Johnny Cab was already downstairs waiting - 15 minutes early! I am really disappointed with this service. I booked round trip from my home to the airport. The driver was late picking me up and did not even call or text to let me know. The van was dirty and old .. unprofessional. I was going to cancel my return trip but I though maybe it was a one-time mistake on their part so I gave them another chance. This pick-up was a different driver and he was on time to the airport, it was around 9:30PM. The minute I got into the van I realized it again was not a good situation. The drivers two young children were playing video games in the back seat! The van was filled with cigarette smoke .. I had to ask the driver to keep all the windows down until I was home. When you choose a taxi company with good reviews on trip advisor and yelp and they charge 20 % more than other flat rate taxi companies (HNL to Waikiki) there are basic expectations. Oh, like you will send a decent moderately clean van to pick you up! The driver texted me that he was waiting for me and when I saw and got in the van, it was disaster inside the van. The man named Lee was very nice but it is not an acceptable van to be picking passengers up in. He said he was an replacement driver because our scheduled driver had to do another run due to our delayed flight. We used JohnnyCab for the transfer from the airport to our Waikiki hotel. The price cannot be beat and the service was exemplary. As soon a we landed at HNL I received a text from the driver telling giving me specific directions to the pickup point. They were spot on and it was very quick to get from the baggage claim to the pickup. On our last day on Oahu we really wanted to see more of the island but only had around 5 hours. Most of the pre-arranged tours of the east coast and the North Shore last anywhere from 7+ hours. I contacted JohnnyCab asking if they could do a custom tour for us. They were quick to respond with a price for the amount of people we had and our time frame. Our driver Kenji (sp.) arrived promptly at our pickup point a large passenger van. We gave him a general idea of things we wanted to see and he knew what we could see in our 5 hours based on the traffic and direction. He drove us to what we wanted to see and we were able to spend a decent amount of time at each location. He knew the history about each location and was very knowledgeable. Just used Johnny Cab again on my vacation to Oahu last week. I had 4 transfers as we were also visiting another island. Each time I needed a transfer, I texted Johnny and he responded right away. Each transfer was on time and made excellent time whether is was going to HNL or to our hotel. This is so much better than other transfer services as you and your family are the only ones in the vehicle. You get taken to your hotel without having to make any other stops.
