I had to text numerous times repeating myself more than once to make a reservation. They don't respond in timely manner. My family has been using Johnny Cheng's Airport express for probably 10 years. We were all happy to see each other in August when he showed up to take us once again to the airport. He said he knew right away who he was going to pick up as soon as the GPS sent him up our private road. Flat Rate: We go to the airport via the flat rates which are cheaper than taking a standard taxi. Where ever you are located on Oahu there is a flat rate already figured out. We also have him pick us up on the return flight. We give him the flight info and he knows when we are returning and is there waiting. Reservations: Now-a-days we email our request a few days ahead of time. He needs the number of people, number of bags, flight number and airline and departure time etc. He requests pre-payment via PayPal before a final confirmation is sent back via email. He also sends detailed but simple instructions for the return flight. For example, you text him upon landing and then again at baggage pickup. He will be nearby and will come over to help if it is feasible. Reliability: We personally have had 100% on time reliability. We probably have just been very lucky, but it does seem that he schedules rides and pickups with care to prevent delays and conflicts as much as possible. I'm sure delays are unavoidable but it has never even happened. Service: He knows you have suitcases and gets them loaded quickly. Personally I'm always a little stressed and distracted because I'm trying to make sure I remembered everything. "Did I turn off the oven?" It is a real life saver to have a reliable airport ride and all the baggage loaded. This is an extremely small operation and Johnny runs it personally and seems to take great pride in what he does. Have used Johnny Cheng's service for the last 4 years for r/t airport transport. The website is easy to navigate or call toll free. Prices are all listed. The vehicles are clean and new. Johnny is a small businessman, personable and efficient. It's nice to be able to see a familiar face right after landing! There might be less expensive shuttles but As long as we continue to fly into Honolulu , we'll use his service. Price, in this case, isn't the deciding factor. read more

Hello, I recently booked a round trip shuttle service with Honolulu Airport Express Johnny Cheng this past week to our Waikiki hotel - Hotel Renew (November 24 - November 28). You can book a private van shuttle for $20/person rt and that is what my sister, my 9 year old niece and I did. Johnny met us at the airport ready to go. He also picked us up right on time early in the morning for our return trip to the airport 5 days later. Very prompt, very kind! I would hire him again. Mixed review on these guys. The positive: they handled us well from airport to hotel and were fast and efficient to book us in and driving us to our hotel. The negative: Pick up for hotel back to the airport was 30 - 35 minutes late, I had to make several calls to their hotline to confirm if they were on the way. Eventually after 4 calls we aligned and got picked up. Not good having our 5 year old and wife stand outside on the curb in the Hawaiian heat waiting for so long. read more

I called this company from my cell phone and both times I received a voice mail and text stating that currently they are just accepting on line reservations, to email or text them. I sent them an email and asked for information which they did provide. I called again the next day and received the same recording. I email them and asked someone to call me because I wanted to discuss further my arrangements. I received an email back stating ... we answer most your questions, what else we can do for you? What happened to customer service?! I replied that their company does not meet my needs because i like to do business with at least a conversation and that i was able to contact another tour company who took the time to speak with me. Their response ... Good luck with VIP trans, they are the worst shuttle and tour company on this island. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. read more
