Definitely my favorite pizzeria! The slices have a little something extra to them because of the sesame seeds on the crust. I don't know why or how...but that just makes such a difference. They have awesome sauce and I've honestly never had better being a native New Yorker. Rosas Pizza across the street is a close second in favorite pizza shops, but I'd pick Joey's over them any day. It is also not as crowded as Rosas which is a bonus. The only thing that is annoying is the parking. Don't come here expecting a beautifully decorated pizzeria either. Joey's Pizza is truly the best. They rise above all other pizzerias. I starting going there last summer. I was seduced by their famous sesame crust pizza and a promise of a garlic shaker, we have been a match ever since. Their white clam sauce and their colossal shrimp are out of this world, They only use the finest quality ingredients and everything is always fresh, I know because I eat their almost every night. They are open until 1 am+ 7 days a week. Nice crowd, lots of regulars, friendly staff.....GREAT PIZZA ! Hands down one of my favorite pizza places of all time. I go out of my way from Suffolk county to come here. The regular slice can go toe to toe with any in New York. And the ambiance is old school queens pizzeria at its finest. Sesame seeds on the crust! You would think it's a small thing, but it makes a delicious difference. Also, unlike Rosa's across the street they deliver, and do so later than any of the other places I know around here (which might explain how I found them in the first place...). The Pizza here is so delicious! Thet make it with a Sesame wheat crust. It was made just right touch. The pizza crust is thin with a little fluff to it. I had a slice with Mushrooms & Sausage. Usually open till 1 AM, I truly had high expectations for late night pizza. Famous for they're sesame crust, it was sub-par and I've definitely had better. Lack of sufficient sauce on the pizza truly ruined my slice and for a first timer, I was very disappointed. Stewart's Root beer to compliment my meal was the best part. Everybody says NY pizza is the best. I'm from Cali and moved to upstate NY. Well I'm here and staying the night. Had to try some. Anyways got a large pizza because reviews said it had the sesame seeds on crust. It was delicious. Truthfully it taste like good pizza not some special miracle given to this state alone. Gina and joes in syracuse has a better pepperoni, with real chunks of pepperoni. This pizza does have more oil grease than I like but overall pretty tasty. What happened to this place?! I used to come here almost every week. A few weeks ago I got pizza and thought the sauce tasted metallic. Like they opened a can of tomatoes and didn't even bother to season it. The other night I ordered a pie and got the greatest, blandest pie ever. The sauce had no flavor yet again. I've been going to Joey's since it was known as Caruana's- still can't resist the yummy sesame seeded pizza crust- a tasty crunch to an A rated pizzeria! Nice. My favorite here is the eggplant rollatini pizza pie. It has a nicely crisped crust, tasty housemade marinara sauce, super-delicious ricotta, and fresh fried breaded eggplant slices. It is filling in a good way :) Excellent the next day in the toaster oven, too. Nice people here, and they have a consistent grade A health review (unlike other nearby pizza places). Also, a tasty eggplant Parmesan hero (I get it with an extra helping of their fresh marinara sauce- worth it!). read more

FIVE STARS all the way for their pizza!!! One of my few very favorite pizza places - and I LOVE pizza. I haven't eaten anything else here, so this review is solely for their pizza. I don't think I've ever gotten a bad slice here. Rosa's used to be the undisputed king in these parts, but Joey's is now (after the new owner took over and changed the name several years back) every bit as good and perhaps even better depending on your tastes. I did a side-by-side and preferred Joey's. Now pizza in NYC is highly personal and everyone has their favorite place, but Joey's can definitely be at the top of a lot of people's lists. It just consistently hits that perfect mark of abundant flavorful cheese, tangy sauce, and a wonderful crust. I myself really like the sesame seeds on the crust (only on the outer edge - not on the bottom of the pie). Why would any New Yorker mind when we are constantly eating them on everything from our bagels to our Semolina bread? But for some reason many reviewers here seem to be put off by them. Grow up. I also see that a lot of the negative reviews here seem to be when either the reviewer has 1) Ordered something other than pizza 2) Ordered online or 3) Not liked their dealings with the owner. I can't speak to the rest of the menu or for ordering online. But I've been in here literally hundreds of times, and have often been served by the owner. I have found him to be very courteous and pleasant every single time. However I could see how he has a bit of that New Yawk streak/attitude in him, and he probably gets impatient with those who are critical as some posts seem to suggest. But I really don't mind that "tude" in my pushcart pretzel sellers, my deli owners, or my pizzeria owners. We're in New York Freakin' City after all. GREAT pizza. read more

Joey's what's up?? I get pizza from here often since it's close to me. I ordered a chicken roll, two regular slices, one Sicilian, and a buffalo chicken slice. What a mistake that buffalo slice was. I've had the slice before and it was good. This time they must not had any buffalo slices left, so they took a white slice and added some nasty buffalo type meat. It didn't look or taste like chicken but looked more like ground beef mixed in buffalo sauce. That slice was the worse thing I've ever had. I would have been happy if you just told me over the phone that you didn't have the slice. read more

Been going there since the new owner (family of original Caruana) took over and have been consistently happy with the pizza and some entrees. The typical regular slice is very good as are the pepperoni, peppers and onion, honey mustard chicken and the whole wheat pie. I also enjoy their salads as a side to an entree or as a meal with chicken added. Entrees that are good in my opinion are manicotti, eggplant rollatini and the classic parmigianas chicken and shrimp. I hear the lasagna is very good from multiple people but its too big and calorie laden for me. I'll have to talk someone into splitting it. I'd like to try the Chicken Francese but I dont think they use wine and that's important to me. The pizza guy at night really knows his business, I think he works the dough right. During the day if I'm in town its a pepper egg and onion hero which is perfect. read more

Don't even know where to start!!!!! I would never order from this place again!!!!!!! So my 2 year old took my phone and pressed the reorder button on my seamless app. I called within 5 mins. They told me that it was too late to cancel and I was like you know made 6 rolls in 5 mins. They told me sorry I had to call seamless. So I called seamless, seamless called Joeys and they told seamless sorry they couldn't cancel it. So I was like fine I couldn't argue. One hour and half passes and I didn't receive my order yet. I call the pizzeria and they told me the order was cancelled. So I said thanks. 2 DAYS LATER I checked my credit card statement online and I was charged. I called seamless and they called joeys and they would not refund my credit card and told them that the manager wasn't there. I called joeys and the rude man that answered told me that seamless didn't call there he must have called another joeys. I was like no and then he told me he'll put the boss on the phone. I was like really bc the boss wasn't there 5 mins ago. They did not refund my card and I never received the food. They are disgusting people!!!! read more

Great neighborhood pizza spot. I like the incorporation of sesame seeds into the crust, it adds an extra bit of flavor to it. My personal go to slice is the BBQ chicken. The BBQ sauce is sweet and flavorful, and the slice is topped with a generous amount of chicken.
