I got what used to be the #2 organic milk, but they have a new menu and are now calling it the panda jelly milk tea. I ordered on the phone and the cashier was very helpful and patient. Would come again! Their tea quality is great and the hantien jelly is so fun and cylindrical and chewy. i was very impressed by the quality of the tea! i love oolong milk teas and appreciated that there were several types of oolong teas to choose from. i ordered a roasted oolong milk tea at 75% sweet and still thought it was on the sweeter end. if you're the type of person to adjust sweetness for your boba, i would suggest to have it at 50% or lower. the staff wasn't super helpful in explaining the differences between the oolong teas, but i was lucky enough to have an idea from previous boba shops. i wish there was seating available to hang out and enjoy my drink! it's in a busy-ish area so there are other stores you can check out and walk around at. since it's Pasadena, only street parking (which you have to pay for) is available. read more

#90 in my Teaholic Diaries. The journey continues! I've seen Jin pop up on my feed here and there over the years, but given the high price tags I was never inclined to stop by until now. Recently I was in the area and really wanted some tea before heading out, so I figured it was worth a shot. That first time I dropped by I tried their Day and Night milk tea, which is their oriental beauty oolong tea with milk, activated charcoal, and brown sugar. Their beauty oolong tea is an oolong with a honey-like sweetness, mellow fruity aroma, and medium roast level. The tea base meshed well with the brown sugar and activated charcoal. The drink was very natural tasting with a strong tea base, different from your typical milk-and-sugar tea drinks. I did like it, but it was a bit steep at $7.55 for a milk tea. I went back to Jin two more times to try some of the other teas. I was not a fan of the matcha brown sugar, which tasted more like milk than matcha or brown sugar. I also tried their beauty oolong tea by itself and without the added milk, charcoal, and brown sugar it wasn't nearly as impressive. If you ever had Hong Kong egg waffles before, their 'puffle' is like those little puffy waffle shapes you'll find on that waffle but in stick form. It's a crispy cloud of happiness, and I got mine stuffed with red bean goodness. It was such a delight to eat and reminded me so much of the Hong Kong egg waffles. The storefront is along the street, which requires you to spend a bit of time searching for street parking but it wasn't too difficult finding parking. The storefront was small but cute and the workers were very helpful and patient with any questions we had about their drinks. I ordered the Day and Night, which is a milk tea with charcoal. The cups are unique and the drink was unique, but I didn't think it tasted any better or any different than a milk tea with or without charcoal (minus the upcharge in cost). The wait for our drinks didn't take too long but there also isn't any space or area to sit down so you basically have to take your drink to go. The vibe was mostly to go orders based on how the space was set up. Otherwise, I thought their drinks weren't bad but they were worth a try. Looked like they really just filled my bottle with cold water and added a small tea bag with pale fruit (apples amongst other things maybe) so it didn't diffuse well. Sometimes the drink take too long because it depends on how many staff are there, but they move pretty slow.. We're not in the area often anymore so when we are, she makes an effort to stop by. First off the girl taking our order named "Kelly" was very rude and unwelcoming, that we almost walked out from the horrible attitude she gave to the both of us. I asked if my drink can be made with 2 scoops of non dairy powder creamer, I know for a fact that this is possible lol, she denied my request and I asked why and she just proceeded to say that she cant and could not give a proper reason Its literally just powdered milk, I get it like this every time I come here and never had a problem until last night. Honestly this point of the review is for the company as a whole. When paying with card we were asked to see our ID. This is kinda crazy for a mid level boba shop like whoever thought of this had too much time on their hands and needs to put that energy elsewhere. We complied anyways, but I legit don't get why so I asked why they ask for government Id's. I was told that it was their way or preventing credit card debt, which isnt even their job as a boba shop but I guess??? It is probably the lamest and useless excuse I could have thought of. Quite possibly the best milk tea in SoCal, if we're talking about milk tea with strong tea taste. We were in Pasadena running some errands and I actually found this place while Yelping for spots in San Gabriel. I decided on Jin because a lot of the places in San Gabriel seemed to blend together. I'm SO GLAD (or maybe mad? keep reading) I picked Jin. Parking is basically street parking. It's next to Boiling Point and across from 85 degrees, close to a corner. I suggest you order online in advance and pick up if you can due to the parking situation. The shop is small, but service was fast. I ordered a mountain oolong and the SO ordered an oriental beauty oolong. Both teas were super smooth and had such fragrant tea flavor - I really was surprised at how good it was with my first sip. It's similar to Orobae in OC, but honestly I think Jin's is a level above Orobae AND there's no insane line for it. I'm kind of mad that I found such a good place in Pasadena when I live in OC...so PLEASE consider opening a new location closer to or in OC! Jin Tea is such a gem of a boba shop. It's small, so there's not much seating available. Their menu is extensive and detailed, but has the basics. I got the wintermelon milk tea and a regular milk tea for my husband. They were such incredible qualify - the flavors are rich and robust. You can tell that the tea is brewed fresh. I'm so happy we found this spot because it's been almost 2 months since we first went here and I'm still craving the wintermelon milk tea. I wish I didn't love so far from the shop, but I will definitely be coming here the next time I'm in the area! Jin Tea is truly a special boba shop, and I hope they expand to more western parts of LA because we need more high quality tea shops like these. I used to come here every Friday after gym with a bunch of my girlfriends. Now I bring my boyfriend every now and then for item number 11. It's melon tea with organic milk plus brown sugar pearls. All these years, the drink still tastes the same and lovely. The melon tea tastes fresh and not too artificial while the milk doesn't overpower the tea. The boba is such a nice touch to add the sweetness. We almost get this drink weekly. The establishment is right next to Boiling Point, and I think it's own by the same group so we sometimes have dinner at boiling point and order the drinks. The service is efficient and fast. I rarely wait more than 5 min for my drinks. One thing to note is that it's impossible to find street parking. Also, for some reason, there is always VERY strong bleach smell at the store which can be quite disturbing. I think it would turn away lots of first-time customers. Abut once you tried the drink, you are likely to come back, so always get a stamp card. read more

There's a big menu plastered on the door to the kitchen with a range between fruit teas, milk teas, and boba milks. I immediately gravitated towards the list of various oolong tea options but I didn't know which to pick. I asked for advice and they explained the differences between the oolong teas. I opted for the oriental beauty oolong milk tea with 50% sweet and less ice and it was PERFECT. It has just the right amount of black tea flavor that wasn't overpowering balanced with a more floral taste. I was worried the sweetness would make the drink nasty but I'm so glad it made my drink the perfect sweetness instead! Came here with the intention of getting boba (my fault), most of their drinks aren't really compatible with boba. Boba isn't included with the drink so add it on, or they'll tell you it has to be on the side. Overall, this is a great place for good quality and taste; come if you want tea or drinks. Ordering a hot drink, I also requested that I get a second cup so I could carry it. However, they assured me that a little plastic wrap-around would be good enough. They gave me two more, and I expressed discomfort since it made the drink wobbly to hold. You can see the gaps in the photos... quite unsafe for both holding and driving. I spent a bit of time sipping at the drink, and eventually I spilled some by accident because of how uneven the "three plastic" contraption that the staff member made for me was. Found another lovely drink/dessert shop in Pasadena. It's located right next to The Boiling Point. Street parking is available if you visit during the outside the rush hours. Staffs are super sweet, friendly and welcoming. Greeted me as soon as I walked in the shop, patiently explained to me about the items and gave me recommendations. I ordered one of their specialty tea series: Day & Night Milk Tea and the original Egg Waffle. They made the tea with organic tea, so it tastes really decent and refreshing, you can taste the sweetness on your tastebuds afterwards, very nice!! The egg waffle is freshly made on order, super fluffy with a slight buttery and sweet taste. Will definitely need to try other flavored Egg Waffles next time. It's a nice and small cozy shop!! They require mask wearing inside and NO eating/drinking in the shop. Hand sanitizer by the counter. All staffs are masked up and it looks pretty neat and clean.
