Came back for round two, this time to try the Milly, and it was definitely something unique! It has a delicate, mild jasmine flavor and doesn't actually contain matcha, but it does come topped with matcha cream. I tried the cream on its own before mixing it in, and it was delicious! I'll definitely be adding that to my matcha latte next time. I also tried the sweet potato mochi, which tasted just like a Japanese sweet potato: soft, delicate, and not overly sweet. I love that the mochi are individually packaged and can't wait to try the other flavors! The interior is very minimalistic and when I stopped by the first time there weren't tables available but this time around I'm happy to report they have small movable tables you can pull up to enjoy your drinks and snacks. And as someone who prefers drinks that aren't overly sweet or milky, this place continues to be a win for me! I just wish they also had larger sizes.

I got their signature oat milk matcha, I was kind of expecting a double matcha einspanner kind of drink but it was different. It was ok- but maybe it was my own expectations of it being a drink I had in Ktown rather than what it was itself. Overall it was good. Parking was a bit hard but there's a structure nearby. Service was good. Small shop so ambiance was limited but it's nice and new- but there's only 1 area of a shared space to sit with limited areas to enter without having to bother people at the end of the table to move.

So happy to see a new matcha spot open in Pasadena! Milli Matcha is such a great addition to the area, and I love seeing new local businesses bring something fresh to the neighborhood. One thing I really appreciated about their drinks is that you can actually taste the matcha! It doesn't get lost in all the other flavors. If I had to pick a favorite, it would definitely be the Hibiscus Coco. SO refreshing!!!!! Perfect if you're looking for something a little different from your usual matcha order. Another thing that makes Milli Matcha stand out is that they offer more than just drinks. They have pastries AND cream-filled rice cakes, which is such a fun addition! I also love knowing that the owners are from the area. There's something special about supporting a small, locally owned business that's part of the community. Excited to see Milli Matcha grow and definitely recommend stopping by if you're in Pasadena!

It was their grand opening today and I was in the area so I stopped by to try their matcha. There was a short line out the door but staff kept it organized. I think I waited about 15 min. Ordering was a bit slow at the counter but it was fine. Ambiance was limited indoor seating. I ordered the Milli ($8.50) for 12oz. It is definitely on the pricey end for this size. This drink was charcoal jasmine oat milk with matcha foam which sounded unique but it didn't taste that unique. I asked for less ice so they didn't fill up the entire cup. Even if I did do regular ice (which is a lot) I noticed they leave a slight space at the top. I think I rather go elsewhere for similar matcha at a better price point.

Loved the vibe and solid drinks here. The strawberry matcha is my top favorite so far in the area! The matcha is rich and high quality, but the price feels a bit high for the cup size. Definitely a spot I'll revisit every now and then.

10.10 the grand opening day apparently! We got quite lucky as the line wasn't too bad when we arrived but growing longer right after. Seats were pretty limited so expect quick grab and go, or if you're lucky you could probably got your quick sip on the spot. The space was minimalistic yet I was fond of the color tone. We got their signature The Milli whose default came with the Saemidori matcha as well as Matcha latte with their Okumidori Matcha (+$1.5) and adding matcha cream top. The Milli was quite distinctive vs common ones any matcha place offered as it featured black jasmine milk and activated charcoal, also coming with matcha cream top. My husband like this one while I preferred having something more matcha (YMMV!), which was the second drink. At the price close to $10, I prolly set higher expectation on bolder matcha taste. Don't get me wrong, it's pretty decent but I might have more preferred ones in town.

Matcha spots are popping up everywhere however I like that this place shines the matcha as the main character. I love that they have 2 matcha options to pick from and the drinks here feel more creative then anything. The pastries are also really good. I had to park a few blocks away but hey, its pasadena for ya! Cute small shop, great service!

If you're looking for REAL matcha, this is the place to go. They're in their soft opening right now. I got the Milli signature with Saemidori foam cold and the Okumidori hot matcha. If you're a jasmine tea fan you MUST try the Milli signature. It's the perfect blend and not too sweet. The matcha foam really tops off the depth of the flavor profile. The Okumidori hot matcha was legit. If you are not an avid matcha drinker or favorite less strong matcha taste, it might be too strong for you. The cashier explained the menu to us and they whipped out our drinks right away. The interior is small and modern. There's some seating but no tables. I will definitely be back for that Milli Signature, it might be my new drink obsession.

I really enjoyed Milli Matcha's hibiscus coconut cloud. It's light, refreshing, and fun to drink. Initially I was super conflicted between the MILLI and this, but eventually got this because I've been drinking too many heavy matchas and this looked light! Located in a prime spot in Old Town Pasadena, I feel like this is a great matcha pick me up spot. There aren't any sit down tables to do any laptop work, but it's a nice place to chat with friends!

The signature Milli latte is phenomenal. Soy milk is infused with Jasmine tea and makes a floral base for a foamy matcha top. I love the flavor of soy milk and the aroma is perfect. I also tried the classic Matcha latte and it was very good as well. It is a beautiful, clean cafe with modern decor.

Good, fast service. The staff was friendly and gave recommendations for which type of matcha we can choose. However, we all felt that the milk overpowered the coffee and matcha flavors. Felt like it was more a glass of milk with hints of matcha/coffee flavor like a La Croix.

The MILLI (less ice...)

Been seeing videos about this new matcha spot in Pasadena so tried it out with friends on their grand opening day. We came later in the day so luckily there was not much of a line, but we still waited 25 minutes to get inside and order. They have a small seating area and the store is pretty small overall. There was only one guy taking orders at the counter and other staff were busy making drinks. I ordered their signature the MILLI since it sounded unique. I got it with less ice since the cup is already small 12 oz for almost $9. I already had a feeling they might give less drink if I did less ice and they really did just that. The cup is already small for this price and with less ice, there is even less of the drink. I guess it is 12 oz worth of the drink but it looked less because of the ice and cup. It was very sad looking. Also, I thought it would be like a matcha latte but it was just the matcha cream top. The charcoal jasmine oat milk was unique though, and tasted pretty good but the drink ended up tasting mostly like jasmine and no matcha taste. For what this drink is, it did not feel worth $9 and the quality didn't feel higher than other matcha spots with bigger cups and around the same price. And for $9, the drink barely had any matcha so you're just paying for the cream and charcoal jamsine milk. Other matcha spots also don't give less drink just because of adjusting the ice. I guess the 12 oz is just for the total weight and not the liquid you get.. was not worth that price at all. Could drink it all before even walking back to my car. Overall this is a pricey matcha spot even for premium matcha. There are other good spots that have the same matcha taste. Just trying this place once is enough- won't be back.

the matcha here is great!! came during soft opening. you can tell that they really care about getting the ratio right, scaling all the matcha/hojicha powder, milk, and sweeteners. I enjoyed the signature drinks: the MILLI and the hibiscus coconut cloud. they use two different cultivars: saemidori (house) and okumidori (+$1.5). the green color speaks for itself, and it's not watered down compared to other places. interior wise, it's a small cafe with limited seating (more of a to-go spot). located right next to a Thai spot too

This did not disappoint! I got the pandan latte. Definitely heavier on the vanilla flavor but the pandan still comes through. My mom got the crème brulee latte and it was probably one of the better ones I've had. It wasn't just sweet - you could get the essence of that burnt sugar topping. For food we had the spam kimchi cheese croissant and it was so good! The croissant was nice and flaky. There was the perfect ratio of filling. It is a very craveable sandwich. All of this in itself deserved a 5 star review already, but one more thing happened I need to mention. We were just about to leave and I wanted a straw in my drink. I want to put it in the lid and instead I spilled it all over the counter. A woman who I presumed to be the owner immediately came over to clean the mess and told the girl at the counter to remake me a new drink. Given I was taking care of my mom and my daughter today, that small kindness meant a lot to me. Overall, highly recommend Dash. Good coffee and good people.

The Matcha Latte ($7) was so disappointing. I requested it with less ice and less sweet so I got it 80% full. It literally tasted like milk and I couldn't taste any matcha at all unfortunately. The staff has great rapport…read morewith each other and genuinely seem like they are having fun, which in turn creates a welcoming jovial atmosphere (unless they have to tell folks to read the sign. Seriously please read the sign! Only 4 people inside at a time & don't block the hallway -- they'll call you in or you can monitor how many folks are inside)! I have tried nearly every Signature/Seasonal drink and you can't go wrong. Unless otherwise noted, all these drinks are "not too sweet": - Sicily: You'd think citrus & espresso would be too acidic, yet somehow the two compliment each other perfectly. If you like cold brew, give this a try! - Gui Hua Latte: The cardamom/osmanthus balance is excellent, sometimes coffee shops go too hard on the cardamom but Mandarin has struck the perfect blend - Toasty: A little sweeter than the other drinks in my view, but if you like cinnamon/brown sugar, this tastes like a cookie in drink form - Raspberry Shiso Matcha: If you have ever participated in a Matcha tea ceremony, this drink tastes like it all-in-one. It has a wonderful wagashi flavor - Sweet Potato Spice Latte: The fall drink to end all fall drinks. The brown butter really sets this latte apart from other PSL varieties. The coconut cream does not impart a strong coconut flavor, but instead a richness in texture. - Sea Salt Coconut Latte: By contrast, this does taste like coconut in all the best ways. Refreshing on a hot summer day with the mint & salt, neither of which overwhelm the senses - Mandarin Mocha: I'm not sure if this will return some other winter season, but the orange-cranberry marmalade mocha was too sweet for my taste. Great in small sips or if you have a sweet tooth though! - Blossom Latte: Clear winning winter seasonal drink. The warmth of the ginger and pink peppercorn combine with the espresso to taste like a snappy gingerbread. - Pineapple Espresso Tonic: I shouldn't review this one because I don't love tonic water to begin with, but the flavors were all there. I just don't think espresso and tonic should go together but some people seem to like that - Rose Hip Black Tea Latte: If you watch any baking shows, you know Rose is a tough flavor to balance, but of course Mandarin knows the secret formula. This is just a delightful spring drink, and the herbal/floral notes from the rose & tea taste like a walk in the Huntington Gardens feels. All of the pastries are delicious, and they sometimes have special guests come and sell their own home-cooked goods (check calendar/notices, I think it's the 1st or the 3rd Sunday each month)! Finally, the arcade is such a lovely tucked-away gem that I wish it was a bit more lively. Mandarin is bringing in a lot of foot traffic, and there's a lot of storefronts certainly benefiting from that, but I would love to see some kind of indoor sit-down place open up (maybe Mandarin could expand...). It's the perfect cozy atmosphere for working, reading a book, or catching up with a friend, but Mandarin itself is too small to house folks inside. There are only 4-5 tables outside in the arcade itself that are almost always taken when it's busy.
