I was initially really excited about coming here. We planned a tea date with a large group of friends, and there were 11 of us total. The reservation process was fantastic. Adam's customer service was excellent, communication was clear, and the contract outlined exactly what to expect. The tea house itself is beautiful. The decor is charming, and it creates the classic tea-house experience. Everyone in our group dressed up in dresses, hats, and fascinators, and it made for a really fun and memorable atmosphere. Unfortunately, the actual service once we were seated was disappointing. Our contract included a 25% gratuity fee, which felt very high given the level of service we received. An 18% gratuity for a large party would have felt more reasonable, but at 25% I expected a much more attentive experience. It often felt like requests were an inconvenience, and several items we had arranged ahead of time were overlooked. For example, I had communicated multiple times that one guest required a gluten-free menu. When we arrived, her gluten-free options were not brought out until we reminded the staff, and she never received the gluten-free macaron that was supposed to be included. The contract also stated that parties are limited to two hours, which we understood and agreed to. However, staff began hovering right at the two-hour mark and seemed eager for us to leave, despite there not being another party waiting for our table. As for the food, it was just okay. None of the tea sandwiches really stood out to me. My favorite item was the cranberry orange scone, which was quite good. The cream puffs and cheesecake bites looked and tasted very similar to something you might purchase from a warehouse store, and several people in our group commented on that. I can't say for certain whether they were made in-house or not, but they did not feel particularly special. Overall, the venue itself is lovely, and the reservation process was seamless. However, between the service, the food quality, and the high gratuity requirement, I felt the experience did not provide good value for the cost. While I'm glad we tried it, I would not return and would likely recommend other tea houses for large group gatherings.
Great beautifully garden decorated space for big parties or tea with friends. Noise level is higher than average due to the high ceiling. Food: dainty with beautiful presentation. Our favorite sandwiches were the salmon, not fishy at all, and the chicken basil. All sandwich were very refreshing and afternoon-tea appropriate. The only thing I would change is the tea pots were bland and did not match the rest of the tableware. Give me tea in pretty flower decorated tea pots!
Loved every moment of my catch up date this Sunday afternoon! Honestly, I don't understand how the ratings are so low and I would've potentially not known about this place it if it wasn't for a friend that went here a few months ago and raved about it! My friend and I haven't seen each other for more than a year, so we thought having tea would be a super nice way to catch-up, since it's conducive to talking. We also didn't want to have a huge heavy meal so the finger sandwiches etc sounded great and photo worthy hehehe I made a reservation request online the night before and received my confirmation soon after. Upon stepping into this place, we were both blown away at how adorably decorated it is! Whimsical and enchanting! The wonderful service set the tone immediately. We were taken care of by Mar; very polite and calm energy was greatly appreciated! Throughout our tea service, we were checked in on and they were cognizant about bussing plates or checking if they could provide warm water for your teapot. We ordered the Tea for Two and it was absolutely perfect selection. We loved the variety of sandwich options and liked that we could select 4 kinds with the package we chose. We also got to have our own teapot, which was a big deal because my friend couldn't drink caffeine and I wanted a black tea so everyone was happy! The small side salad and small side of fruit with the cream that came with it was the perfect compliment without being too much. We also ordered one blueberry scone to share and it was so good and warm. The petit fours were ok for me and would try another small sweet bite next time (lemon curd?!). We were full and happy by this point! The live piano music by Hitoshi-san was a definite contributor to our relaxing and enjoyable time here. Such a nice touch to the atmosphere and experience. We didn't purchase anything from the gift shop area, but now that I've been able to see what they have--I would consider buying gifts here without dining. They have a wonderful selection of novelty gifts including loose teas and adorable accompaniments like rhinestone tea spoons and heart shaped steepers. Looking forward to next time! It may be a monthly thing!
Great afternoon tea experience with friends :) I enjoyed the decaf Earl Grey tea and the sandwiches were probably my favorite bites. Best sandwiches for me: chicken almond and spicy salmon tempter. Also liked the lemon berry scone! Service was awesome, too. Server explained the menu to us and was super patient about our questions.
I wanted to love this place, but the afternoon tea just wasn't worth the price for me. The food was underwhelming, and while the space is charming in theory, the ambiance didn't quite land. It felt like it was missing something I can't fully put my finger on. Service was okay, nothing memorable either way. It's located in Old Town Pasadena, which is a cute area to walk around and explore.
Came here on a last minute Valentine's Day date with my Bestie and they were so quick to accommodate us! Had a really large menu of all sorts of affordable tea options; it was the perfect date night. I loved it so much. I brought my mom for Mother's Day (which was a significantly pricier experience, but 100% worth it) My absolute favorite tea was the peaches and cream ! I liked it so much, I bought some from the boutique to take home. Needless to say, this is one of my favorite tea spots now
The Tea Rose Garden is a fine tea establishment that is perfect for a nice collective gathering with family and friends. If you are a tea fan, they have very good blends here. As for the food, it's actually better to get their seasonal specials in my opinion if you can; there's typically more food to share with. Not to say what you're ordering isn't enough!-- it's a good amount even for one person if they want to leave full. Remember, leave room for the tea too. :) The Ambiance is nice. The place is medium-large with small tables to fit in several different tea patrons and their respected groups. The patrons are mostly respectful, given the proximity of how close we are sat to each other, keeping their voices down, and not too loud in their conversations but enough to still have a nice chat and enjoy themselves-- it would be nicer if the place spread out the tables a bit-- but so far I've yet to encounter any disagreeable actions by anyone in this attractive establishment. Overall, I thought the highlight was the Seasonal Tea Food option; the spread was visually inviting and enjoyable to share with. The tea is also quite nice--! After your meal, check out their tea options and trinkets off to the side. They have some neat gifts. Some caveats: the food is not amazing, but it's still nice... again try the seasonal tray first. We chose their Fall one and it was a stark difference from the normal options. There's no private tea rooms to speak of or secluded sections, so be ready to share a nice tea with others sitting nearby enjoying their tea. No one is rude here though typically.
What a cute way to spend Mother's Day. The service was quick, as they made sure to keep our tea full and provided us with the salad first before bringing out the main sandwich meal and desserts. Our family enjoyed trying out and sampling each treat, and there was plenty to take home for later. Overall, such a great treat if you're looking to celebrate a special lady in your life.
Came here with some ladies from the office and the atmosphere was so cute. Food and tea was delicious. Would definitely come back again!
The atmosphere is very nice, decor is pretty and the food was excellent. Lots of tea options too. I would recommend this place.
An absolutely perfect afternoon at the beautiful, relaxing, and deliciously tasty Tea Rose Garden. The sandwiches were delicious with cucumber being my favorite. Ordered the berry tea which was hot and delicious. Quiet restaurant with beautiful decor. A delightful afternoon treat.
Came here for a birthday party. We all ordered the garden tea combo. Here is what I didn't like: - Decor is underwhelming: looks cheesy and cheap, a bad caricature of what they think is England. - Service: only men. Why? They were rough and the one we got was rude, spoke fast and made us, a group of girls, pretty uncomfortable. - Tea: low quality, no wonder they don't put the brands they sell. Flavorless, boring. - Salmon sandwiches tasted like cat food. - Macaron, mini eclair and puff were clearly frozen products What I liked: - cucumber and chicken and almond sandwiches were good - lemon pie and cheesecake were good but I highly doubt they were made in the house given the whole vibe of the place. Won't be back.
Our party of four had the garden tea tray with cake and sandwich variations. The best sandwiches we had were the almond chicken, cranberry chicken and chicken curry. The cucumber sandwiches were traditional but I felt it lacked flavor as well as the egg salad sandwiches. We tried the chocolate, red velvet, lemon and cheese cakes. We all agreed they were all good but our favorite was the lemon cake. The teas we tried were light in flavor I think we would have liked a fuller flavor tea. We all got individual tea pots, but I was disappointed they were all plain white. I was expecting beautiful flower decorated pots especially since we did mention we were celebrating a birthday. Lastly, I felt the service could have been better.
It's my first time here. My niece made reservations for us. We had individual Tea Tray ~ $40 (each) Finger Sandwiches of Choice (6pcs) A choice from our Tea Sandwich Selection Tea Time Bites Spring Petal Salad Fresh Fruits Scone of Choice 2 people total around $88 English decore inside with flowers on each table. We were first people there so got to pick where sit. We sat in front with lots of plants - picture worthy table. Everything was delicious and the bathroom was had mural of english vibe. read more

We came yesterday for afternoon tea since it was my son's bday request. I made a reservation online and it was quick and easy. Location was easy to find and we lucked out with 2hr street parking for $2.50. Venue was cute inside, pretty simple. It wasn't crowded at all. We opted for the tea for two and ordered scones and dessert à la carte. It was $262 for a party of 6. Everyone left full and took leftovers home. The price is definitely cheaper than places in OC. I would come back. read more

Unfortunately, I don't feel we received the full service. I ordered the Tea for Two for $65 & this is all we were served. I expected some macaroons, eclairs, cream puffs, mini cupcakes, or something to fill the tray...we didn't even get any edible flowers. We went during lunch time, during the week, so the Pianist wasn't playing, the service wasn't very attentive, their outfits, are your typical servers uniform...all black. And they didn't have a garden. They have a child's $12 special (see attachment). I asked her what comes with the $12 special? She said "nothing", she just gets to share mine for $12. read more

It's a cute large tea place; the design are really cute. That tease qualities are amazing but the finger foods and sandwiches was not a hit, unfortunately. I took my friend there for her bridal shower and they were so nice. Gave her a bouquet of flower that ambience is cute but they can definitely work on the sandwiches. It's a bit too pricey for what they're offering. read more

Afternoon tea at TEA ROSE GARDEN is a MUST! I haven't been to their new location and wow... This place is stunning! I brought my friend who has never experienced an afternoon tea service. She loved it! And I of course absolutely loved it. The flavors were delicious. The scones were by far my favorite! Service was impeccable. You must come in and enjoy a "spot of tea", enjoy the ambiance and have a nice lunch with friends. read more

Came here at 11am on a Friday expecting it to be packed and busy. I was surprised by how empty it was (which once we left at 130 the place was fuller). Without people, the decor around Christmas time is nice but the floor and emptiness didn't feel as High Tea high end as I would like. We had a friendly server who was knowledgeable about the teas (cactus nectar was a nice unexpected flavor). The tray presentation was cute. The key to come here is for the affordable price point. I felt like you get what you paid for. As the place got more tables, the service wasn't as attentive. read more

The most beautiful afternoon spot in LA! We came for a bridal day for my sister and law and it was totally worth it! Such beautiful stunning decor, great service. We got 3 sets for two and shared it between 6 of us. We decided to have a choice of every sandwich on the menu. Some were really good, some were interesting but overall everything was great. Highly recommend a cute girls date here! read more

I visited this tea room yesterday and overall had a really lovely experience. The food was absolutely delicious, and you can tell care goes into the preparation. The lemon raspberry scone was perfectly made -- tender, flavorful, and easily one of the highlights. They also offered some gluten-free options, which I appreciated, and had plenty of sugar alternatives available for tea. Service was wonderful. The servers were friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. Our food came out quickly, and the tea was served nice and hot -- exactly how it should be. That said, it is a bit more expensive than other tea rooms I've visited, especially considering the smaller portion sizes. The overall quality of the tableware and serving pieces didn't quite match the price point. The china cups were plain (part of the fun of tea service is drinking from beautiful floral cups!), and the three-tiered trays were lightweight plastic rather than something more elegant. The space itself was very clean and decorated nicely, which added to the ambiance. However, the tables were quite close together, and with limited sound-absorbing materials, conversations became loud and the background music was hard to hear. There were green dividers in some sections, and it might have felt more relaxed if guests were spread out instead of concentrating seating in one area while other sections remained empty. Overall, a very positive experience with delicious food and excellent service -- just a few atmosphere and presentation details that, if elevated, would make it a five-star visit. read more

The charming tea room, nestled in Old Town Pasadena, is beautifully decorated with lots of greenery and cute knick knacks. The tea sandwiches and scones are delicious. The chicken curry tea sandwiches are everything! Edible flower petals are strewn over the salad and tea tray. They offer an extensive variety of teas. I particularly enjoy their Vanilla Almond black tea. It has a subtle sweet nuttiness, like drinking an almond cookie. Wonderful staff. Adorable gift shop. I'm never disappointed when I have tea here. Parking can be a challenge. Last time I came here, I paid a $12 flat fee to park in the structure. read more

We decided to spend our daughter's 1st birthday here with our family of 4 for a tea party lunch. We all got dressed up, my baby in a cute little outfit for tea. Yesterday was a Tuesday. I had emailed the restaurant days prior to our reservation requesting a special table (like the bird cage style ones that I saw here on yelp) to celebrate the occasion. I asked if it would be acceptable to bring any decor and they said that the table would already come with a vase with flowers - no need to bring anything else. Well - it wasn't, just a white table cloth empty table. Whenever we walked into the restaurant the server didn't really seem to care that we had a reservation and tried to just plop us at any table. I advocated for my prior request and she moved us to the other side of the restaurant and adjusted the table. That bird cage style table was available but "only for the weekend". It would have taken such little effort to make it happen. Anyway, I've been to the Huntington Tea many times - the quality and experience is unmatched. I wanted to give somewhere new a try. The food here was beyond subpar and there was even mold on some pastry. The manager ended up taking care of our tab which was appreciated but I spent the rest of my daughter's birthday wondering if my entire family had food poisoning, especially my baby who was eating it with us. Looks like I'll be sticking to Huntington - you get what you pay for. Btw - the manager said that they get weekly pastries in. So I guess find out when that is . read more

I really enjoyed this tea room, and the choices they offer for all their sets are good and plentiful everyone can find something they like. I got the Garden Tea set but also asked for a blueberry scone since which was nice and not dry. for tea I got the black currant tea and that was very good, my sister had the lavender early grey and I really enjoyed that one as well. It is very loud in here though so I can see why that's something people mention in their reviews. I feel tea places don't need to be charging such a high price for their trays but it is what it is in this day and age. read more
I was here as a co-host of a baby shower and it was an excellent venue for the event. It seems to be the go-to spot for baby and bridal showers and for good reason! It is such a cute little place. We had unlimited tea and sandwiches, and they kept refilling the snacks and even gave us boxes for all the leftovers. The service was so nice and they let us set up an hour beforehand. Everyone had a blast! The only minus is that they schedule a lot of overlapping parties, and there is just a fake hedge between them so it can get very loud. But for the price you really can't beat hosting an event here. read more
What a nice experience! I know tea spots can get pricey but this spot was decently priced for the food, ambiance and service. They did such a nice job for Christmas decorations. My friends and I felt so welcomed and cozy. They have a good selection of the tea however, we noticed one of them was a little watered down but there's sugar cubes and Splenda available on the table as well as whole milk. We did the tea for two which comes with 16 sandwiches of 4 different choices which filled the three of us up. Our waiter Zach was patient and nice enough to provide us some recommendations. Only thing was the parking so if you have reservations make sure to arrive early to find street parking or a public parking lot. It can be a hassle. But I look forward to coming back! read more

This is forever my favorite afternoon tea place! I have been coming here for over 10 years. I loooove their tea sandwiches (cucumber, egg & watercress, and smoked salmon & dill are my favorites). I am usually not super into scones, but the maple pecan (their only glazed scone) is scrumptious--even before adding a dollop of clotted cream and raspberry jam! They were very kind, thoughtful and patient with the preschool-aged child we brought. The child and I both adored the peach apricot tea. They also offer peaches and cream (vanilla) tea for children. I really love that they offer children's tea and children's tea sandwiches since some afternoon tea places do not. And for those who are lactose intolerant, they had almond milk. Mr. Kevin was our server today. He was so attentive, kind and friendly. I was so impressed! He thoughtfully offered to take our party's pictures--the photos came out so beautiful! The pictures really captured our amazing, memorable experience. (Their delightful Christmas decorations were still up on January 19, 2026-it felt so festive!) I will continue coming here again and again! (Their decor and fresh floral arrangements are gorgeous, as well!) Thank you! read more

We were here for a meet up. I had such an amazing time. This place is so cute, everywhere you look there is something captivating. I ordered the Tea Rose Garden tray, check it out so cute. It came with 6 tea sandwiches, a scone, fruit , salad, tea, time bites for $40, all worth it. Decor and service were just great. If you go with a big group, make sure to take cash or put it on one card, it will avoid the waiting time. Check it out and cheers! read more

Can they make sandwiches without cheeses/cream cheese? I cannot do dairy.
Yes they can if you ask the server
Do they serve halal or kosher meat?
What's the max capacity?
Do they currently have gluten free options?
Some of their salads are gluten free.
Are there vegan options?
Fresh seasonal fruit available…Teas are wonderful… Scones, breads and pastries contain eggs.
Where is the closest parking lot?
Across the street is a parking garage, first 90 minutes are free.
Is there any outdoor seating? In the back? Thanks!
There is outdoor seating in front only.
What is the dress code here? Wondering how casual/formal to dress for my visit.
It's not a very formal setting at all. I wore a dress because I wanted it to be a bit more formal than it was. Most people there were "business casual", with a few sippers in dresses. ☺️
Are reservations needed or recommended? I was planning to come with two friends of mine
I did not need a reservation for 3 on a Monday at 11 am. It was empty. Weekends are different though. It doesn't hurt to make one
