I asked the barista, Destiny, what to order and she recommended the Lavender Breve. OMG it was the BOMB!!! The foam on top makes it elevated and it's deff the chefs kiss!

Found Rosebud Cafe while looking for a place to grab breakfast before running a few errands, and…read moreI'm really glad I stopped in. It wasn't overly busy, so I found a table right away and had a chance to relax for a bit. I ordered an oat milk latte and an avocado toast. The latte was smooth without tasting burnt, and the toast was fresh with a good amount of seasoning. Nothing over-the-top, just really solid food and coffee. The staff checked in a couple of times to make sure everything was good, and everyone seemed genuinely friendly. I also liked that people were doing a mix of things--some were meeting friends, others were working on laptops--which made the place feel comfortable and lived in. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm in the area. Nice atmosphere, good coffee, and a relaxing way to start the morning.

I really like the concept of this place being a coffee shop during the day and a brewery later on. It gives the space a relaxed, chill atmosphere that I can appreciate. Unfortunately, the food and drinks just didn't do it for me this time. I ordered the $9 sub, which was premade and had that unmistakable straight-from-the-fridge hard bread situation. Plus, it could use some mayo, or at least some kind of sauce. For $9, I expected better and definitely wouldn't spend the money on it again. The hojicha latte was another miss. I've had hojicha plenty of times and usually love its smooth, roasty flavor, but this one wasn't sweet or creamy enough for my taste and came across a little too straight-up. The raspberry cream on top didn't add much flavor either. I also grabbed a day-old pastry. It was pretty hard and had a slightly stale crème-brûlée-like top, although I'll give it credit -- once warmed up, it was actually pretty delicious. Overall, 3 stars. I like the concept and the convenience, but unfortunately nothing I had was quite good enough to make me want to come back anytime soon.

The menu has…read moreadjusted slowly over time, but they maintain a solid coffee and tea selection, with some food options and (at the Pasadena location) about 16 flavors of gelato. On this weekday I came for the Jasmine Milk Tea. Last time this was under the Tea Latte section, but they menu changed and there is now a dedicated Milk Tea section. And also there is a Jasmine Latte with Espresso in it, but that is under the Espresso section. I was able to get it chilled but without ice. The lowest sweetness level was 50%, but I asked nicely and they estimated they could make a 25% for me. It turned out wonderfully, extremely floral, barely any sweetness so the Jasmine aroma and taste were the dominant ones. In the food side I selected the popcorn chicken. I can take some heat but only a small bit, so I asked for the spice powder in the side. I just looove the texture of the popcorn chicken. You can see in the picture that it's a very thin breading, almost not there, but the texture seems almost as if an invisible rice flour was tossed in the outside. Still juicy in the inside, and small pieces to make every bite pop-able. The chicken comes with a ranch sauce, though to me it's a second thought. Add a hint of spice or even have the chicken as is, no ranch is needed.

The matcha foam was literally pulling with the straw like slime :/ I really wanted to like this place, but the experience was disappointing. When I asked the girl at the front if the matcha was supposed to look like that, she said yes because they apparently put something in it to make it thick. She did offer to remake it, but I said no because if the texture was intentional, wouldn't a replacement have been just as slimy? I was later offered a free drink if I emailed them 24 hours in advance. I'll give an extra star for the offer, but no thanks. After getting sick and having such a bad experience, I don't understand why I'd willingly come back for another drink.

Finally visited Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters!…read more Jameson Brown has been on my ever-growing list of coffee shops to try, and I'm so glad I finally made it in! Tucked on a brick corner building in Pasadena, their simple signage is easy to miss (I've driven by so many times and never noticed!), but stepping inside, you find a spacious and inviting interior with ample table options and even a cozy fireplace in the back. Parking is street only, so you might have to walk a bit during peak times, but it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. There are a couple of outdoor tables too, if you want some fresh air. Jameson Brown is an artisan roaster sourcing beans from around the globe, barrels of beautiful coffee beans are on display and you can watch the baristas access them as they craft each drink to order. The menu is displayed on a giant blackboard, with special and seasonal offerings up front by the counter. New pastry selections include treats like calamansi cheesecake pandesal and sticky buns (with vegan options as well). The staff were incredibly friendly, patient, and welcoming as I took my time deciding what to get. I went with my usual vanilla latte, plus their specialty Vienna latte. The espresso in my vanilla latte was bold and delicious, and while I'm not a big cinnamon fan, the Vienna latte (with honey and cinnamon) was perfect to bring home to my husband. Loved the open space, perfect for meetings, game nights, or just working from a coffee shop for the day. So glad I could finally check this one off my list. Highly recommend!

We arrived just after they opened at 7am and were quite literally the first customers of the day. Thanks for opening your doors to us! This place is such a unique blend: part hip-hop vinyl shop, part artsy cafe, and all-around good vibes. The music selection is top notch, and I loved browsing the cute merch and randomly awesome stationery items. Service was super friendly. My husband had a great conversation with one of the guys behind the counter about the shop's minimalist decor, and we learned Two Kids has been thriving for 10 years. I hadn't been in since right around the pandemic, so it was heartwarming to see they made it through and are still flourishing. The espresso was absolutely luscious, and as a bonus, we got the prettiest latte art with hearts in our drinks, big love for that! Really wish I had more time to hang out on the comfy couches in the middle of the shop and soak in some vinyl tunes. Can't wait to come back and spend a morning here the right way, highly recommended!

I chose the Coconut Oatmeal Chai Cookie Sandwich for the novelty but I found that it was rather sweet for my taste. So for anyone interested in their cookie sandwiches, I definitely recommend getting a drink that's not sweet to balance out the flavors! Otherwise I'd absolutely come again to try out the rest of their menu.
