    Braised Beef Short Rib (Galbi-Jjim)
    Louise D.

Love this spot for when we're craving braised short ribs but don't feel like driving far. IT ALWAYS HITS. They offer both spicy and non-spicy versions, and you can add cheese (which you absolutely should). It's perfect for 2-3 people, super tender, and literally falls off the bone every time. I've also tried their brisket hot stone and they're generous with the portion. The staff is always attentive and friendly, and the restaurant itself has a beautiful Korean-inspired design. It's consistently clean and just a really comfortable place to enjoy a good meal. Just a heads up: the line can get pretty long on weekends, but honestly, it's worth the wait!

Undecided on where to go for dinner tonight, but, since we're in the Glendale area, we decided to go to our go-to Korean restaurant for delicious comfort food! The food is consistent and hits the spot every time. Good customer service!

We stopped by Jin Cook on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner, at around 5pm. It took less than 5 minutes to get a table but we did end up at a tiny 2 top. Lucky for us our table was against the bench wall so we were able to put stuff like the acrylic drink menu and napkin box on the seat, else we wouldn't have had enough room for our food items. I got the Garlic Suyuk (half order) and my partner got the Bulgogi Stone Plate. For beverages, I got the Sikhye while my partner went for the 5 berry flavored "Koreanade." Though there was only 2 of us at our table, it took a good 10 minutes before our drinks came out. Shortly after that, ONE of our dishes came out about and then about 5 to 10 min after that, our second dish came out. This was weird (to me) because there were only 2 of us. I kind of get this sort of happens with large parties--foods don't all arrive at the same time--but when there's only 2 of us? Anyway, the bulgogi was decent but it also tasted a little dry. The Suyuk I really liked its flavor and would have liked to have eaten with rice but it came with nothing but scallions (and the menu oddly didn't seem to list rice as a side for purchase). The Sikhye was pretty sweet but not as sweet as the 5-Berry Koreanade (which I thought was overly sugary). The banchan was limited to 4 dishes: kimchi, spinach, onions and radishes. The initial serving came with barely anything but perhaps this is so it's not wasted if not eaten? We got 1 refill on the "sides" and those servings came with a reasonable amount. As we ate, the waiting area filled up a LOT so this place would probably have a wait had we not come at an "off time." Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would come back in the future to try their other dishes. We do enjoy Korean food and have been hard pressed to find good Korean food in the area.

Nice restaurant display. We ordered mushroom curry and veggie hot stone. They are yummy. Even the side dishes are good. Must come to eat again if we are nearby next time.

This place is my current favorite. The best sellers are labeled on the menu. Highly recommend. Also don't forget the hot cake dessert. 10/10

Jin Cook is a solid spot to satisfy those Korean food cravings. On this visit, I had their Kalbitang which had a modest portion of beef and noodles though a good bowl of rice. Side dishes can be refilled, and their kimchi specifically is one of my favorites. (Good sides = good meal) One of my friends had their Chicken Katsu Curry, and it was a good thick sauce with some thin slices of chicken. At first, it looked plentiful, but once you dig your spoon in, you'll realize the dish really isn't that deep. Outside of food, service was present until we received our food - then absent. However, the darker brown interior here makes the eating experience more enjoyable. My favorite is the contrast with lighting especially for food pictures. Street parking in this area may take some time to find, and expect to pay for parking!

Pretty decent Korean food in the mostly-Armendian city of Glendale. Love the curry katsu chicken but the banchan flavors are somewhat watered down (again, understandable given the location and customers). The tteokbokki rice cake was way too spicy. I would come back for the curry dishes! Nice decor and staff.

Been to the Jin Cook in Buena Park, so excited to find one in Glendale as well. Came here with the wife and absolutely loved the food! If you're a pork belly fan, gotta get the garlic suyuk. Half order was perfect for the two of us. The meat just melts in your mouth and is so rich and flavorful having cooked in all that broth...so delicious! We also ordered the seafood pancake, which was huge. Crispy, good amount of various seafood cooked in, really hit the spot. Parking can be tough in this area. Mostly metered parking. We got lucky and found one right in front of the restaurant. Seems to be pretty busy, we had to wait about 30-45 minutes for a table for 2 at 8pm on a Friday night.

My brother told me that this place has Chicken bibim naengmyun. Bibim naengmyun is buckwheat noddles chilled with a moderately spicy sauce. I've never had this dish with Chicken before. It's typically served with beef. I thought it was good. I would comeback for the food.

The food was okay given the area the restaurant is in. It's definitely not comparable to anything in koreatown but if you're really wanting a quick fix of Korean food this is a good spot. It's also very pricey for the portions given so keep that in mind. We visited on Wednesday for dinner and there were several open tables. The staff were very nice and quick to serve us and the restaurant was clean and quiet. We ordered the bulgogi stone pot and sulungtang (beef soup). The sulungtang came already seasoned so that was surprising as it's usually served without the added salt. I find it hard to want to eat in this area because paying for parking is extremely unappealing to me and the food is already expensive. We parked in the back lot behind the goodwill and paid around $4.50 for 2 hours. Parking on the street can get more expensive than that. Overall not a bad experience but not sure I would do it again!

This is the kind of meal you crave when you want something warm, filling, and full of flavor The Bulgogi Hot Stone arrived sizzling, with tender beef and rice that gets crispy as you eat. The Sweet Potato Cheese Katsu surprised us with its sweetness and gooey center, while the Pork Katsu was perfectly breaded and juicy. The Korean BBQ Short Rib was deeply savory and comforting, and the Korean Pancake added that crispy, shareable bite every table needs. Pair it all with a Soju Highball, and it's comfort food done right.

Visited Jin Cook in Glendale today for some authentic korean soul food. Upon entering the store we noticed all the authentic decor at the entrance. The restaurant had a good amount of tables and we were seated immediately. Shortly after it began to fill up and it was a full house. My friends and I ordered the braised beef short ribs (galbi jjim), seafood pancake, chicken noodle soup (kal guk soo), steamed dumplings and brisket hot stone. The braised short rib was tender and fall off the bone. The onions, rice cake, pumpkin and potato were soft and soaked up all the sauce that it came with giving us a punch of flavor with every bite. Would recommend eating it with rice to not waste any sauce. The cheese was evenly distributed on top and torched at the table. The seafood pancake had crispy edges and chunks of seafood in every bite. The steamed dumplings were pretty standard with the pork filling. I liked how thin the wrapper was and meat was flavorful. The chicken noodle soup was perfect for the chilly day we had. It was nice and warm which helped warm up our stomach before the meal. The noodles were nice and chewy while chicken was shredded and soft. The brisket hot stone reminded us of a gyudon. The meat was flavorful and the garnishes it came with gave it plenty of texture and depth. The staff was attentive and came around to check in on us. They refilled our waters and brought us more of the banchan. The sides included kimchi, radish, spinach and pickled onions which accompanied the meal well. Parking can be found in the back or on the street. They are located off Brand right across from Porto's and a couple blocks away from The Americana. Perfect to go shopping then head over to eat or if you want do dine late at night. They serve alcohol and other non alcoholic drinks as well depending on your mood.

Loved the experience of eating at Jin Cook-- from the moment we walked in, the service was quick despite it being a busy Saturday night! If you enjoy trying different liquor drinks, the passion fruit soju highball is a refreshing and delicious option. I also would recommend trying the rose tteokbokki if you are someone who enjoys a bit of spice! We will definitely be coming back to try other items from their menu!

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to Korean food for dinner and typically we would go to Jincook, but I wanted to try something different. I found K-Street on Yelp and wanted to give it a try. There's plenty of parking in a safe parking garage which is nice! We arrived to the restaurant at around 8pm? Upon walking in we saw that they have a B rating so my boyfriend was a bit weary of eating there. Upon walking in, it was completely empty-- understandable because it was a Wednesday night. The server was a super nice woman who gave us recommendations and explained things I needed clarification for. The restaurant was cute, had street signs for streets in Korea and a huge projector that screened music videos on the wall. I'm sure the place is usually poppin' on nights when it's busy! It was really quiet because we were the only ones there but the music was a nice addition to break the silence. My boyfriend ordered the Bulgogi Dolsot, which is bulgogi with rice in a hot stone. He said the bulgogi had great flavors and the crispy rice was his favorite! The bulgogi wasn't fatty or too tough, he loved that they didn't skimp on the meat. I ordered the Hot Pot Bulgogi, it was a soup with bulgogi, some rice cakes, and some noodles. It was served with rice, but I skipped on eating the rice. The soup to me was a bit too salty! It had great umami flavor and depth to the rich flavor but I needed lemon or vinegar to break up the saltiness. The bulgogi in the soup was nice and tender, I ate basically all of the bulgogi. The rice cakes were nice and chewy, and the noodles made it feel like a complete meal. Was it worth $22? Not to me, for what it was I think it should've been around $15. The also gave us complementary banchan, but it wasn't the best. I understand we were only two people and they were bottomless, but 4 small pieces of pickled radish and 2 bites of kimchi? I could've easily eaten 5 plates of each but I didn't want the server constantly coming back to bring us more. Again, we were the only ones there so I didn't want to feel like a burden. Would I come back here again? Unfortunately not. My first impression at K-Street wasn't the best and there are plenty Korean restaurants that I personally like!

You could easily walk past it and you wouldn't even know. That said, the food is pretty good. My one and only gripe however is that for some reason they do not offer pick up orders to be placed by phone OR on delivery apps. It's the strangest thing, and having to go into the restaurant in person to order to-go is a big inconvenience. I typically order the Chadol BBQ. Not many korean restaurants offer brisket (it's usually bulgogi, galbi, or chicken). So whenever I have a hankering for brisket but not AYCE, I know where to go. The brisket is tender and usually not overcooked. Their steamed mandu is chicken and pork. It's nothing special but you get exactly what you expect. Parking is pretty convenient in the parking garage right above it, with the first 45m free (no validation required).

I didn't get checked on much at all but the kimchi beef tofu soup was good, a little on the plain watery side, and the sides themselves were ok. Total price was $16.99, ~$18 with tax. As mentioned by others, don't expect BCD tofu house here - but for being outside of K town this place is just OK. The inside is nothing special but it gets the job done and it's cozy.
