As a full disclaimer, the manager personally reached out after my previous review and also offered discounts to have us back and dine with them. This was my first time coming back since I last visited and also during COVID and we were thoroughly pleased by the excellent service! I came back with several friends who were with me during our first visit and we all agreed that the service was great and had improved significantly, servers came to check on us throughout the meal, and all our requests were promptly taken care of. All servers were wearing masks, temperature was taken, and we were socially distanced from other guests dining at the restaurant. We ordered the combo 2, and as far as meat quality goes, I'm still very impressed by it (which hasn't changed since my first review!) I came with a party of 7 and we were all full with the portions that were given (including some sides). I do wish there were more sides, but I have zero complaints about the meat and I would say this is among the top tier of kbbq places my friends and I have tried in Arizona. We brought our nephew for a special dinner and had an excellent experience. We had a very short wait (10-15 mins). All of the staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. The food was delicious and they make sure to help you feel welcomed to refill more of the sides that come with the combo. It was our first time doing Korean BBQ and the manager, Justin, was really helpful in getting the meat cooking started and then encouraged us to try so it was a nice a balance of having them show you and also getting to experience it ourselves. Pretty good quality of meat. I wouldn't get the special #2 again since there's a lot of just so so meats. We tried it on the first visit. Other than their top quality beef, the pork was just ok. Personally it feels like a BBQ your own meat beef restaurant. They bring the uncooked meats and then pretty much leave you to fend for yourself. Don't forget to bug them about changing the hot plates. You don't want to be eating over charred bits now. Maybe I'm used to more traditional service where they come and help you cook the meats to the right temp and in the right order. Next time I'll know. BTW the prices for meat is not cheap. We had a table for 4 and they brought 1 each of about 3-4 different banchan, and we constantly had to ask for more rice paper (they didn't have any radish or lettuce to wrap the meats). It is a little higher on the price side however, the meat quality is good. It isn't cheap stuff.. Bf and I had nothing but beef today.. Steak, thin sliced beef,and I forgot the rest of the names... All of their meet were like butter! Soft and easy to chew. Everything just kind of melts in your mouth!! I love how the servers do everything for you. You don't grill yourself. They grill for you and all you do is eat. The sides and veggies were all fresh. They're kimchi tofu beef soup was my fave!!! So delish. Service was great! Jin BBQ is different from your other East Valley places bc it's not AYCE (all you can eat). But don't let that stop you from comin here, bc the quality of meat and the flavor is top notch! We ordered the Jin Combo #2, an extra order of brisket, and a side of japchae (which comes in a huge plate!) for a group of 7. The combo has an steamed egg in it, and cheese corn also built into the grill. All of their meats were filled with flavor and good quality cuts of meat. Everybody in our party was pretty satisfied at the end too, no one was left hungry, and everybody was satisfied with the amount of food we got! Normally after going to kbbq, you'll always feel full in your stomach, and also full of regret bc you ate too much. But Jin has the perfect amount of meats to fill you up and not leave you running to the toilet later. Another unique thing about Jin is that the servers will cook and cut the meat for you. So if you're new to kbbq, this is def a good spot for you to go bc they'll tell you what meat is cooking, and even let you know what the best way to cook it is (rare, medium rare, etc) for each meat. Jin also takes into consideration the smell that you leave with on your clothes! They're ventilation works, and you don't have too much of a meat stench as you leave. But even if you do, they have a little febreeze station that you can spray yourself down with to remove it! I'll definitely be coming back to Jin with more friends! read more

Wow! Finally, the East Valley gets an awesome Korean BBQ spot! This is the first place I have been to in Arizona and felt like I was back in Korea Town in LA. This place is owned by my other favorite restaurant Jin Shabu. I don't know which one to choose when I go out... For the menu, you can choose individual meats or you can pick from a combo which is a lot like my favorite KBBQ in LA (Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong) and it comes with the delicious onion salad, kimchi and bean sprouts with your choice of soup. I will always choose Kimchi Stew. Like Jin Shabu, the meats are perfect with the fat proportioned nicely throughout each piece. They have cheesy corn and egg also cooking on the grill (like Baekjeong). The kimchi stew was delicious and spicy. Their Volcano egg was the BEST steamed egg I have every had! In addition to the menu and grill set up, the restaurant is beautiful inside and again feels like a Korean restaurant in LA. This is the BEST Korean BBQ in Arizona! It is not an all-you-can-eat place but the price is very reasonable for top quality meat! The environment of this place felt like it was for a younger crowd but still family-friendly. I loved their addition to their air freshener to get rid of the Korean bbq smell after the meal. All the staff was very friendly and on top of their service at all times. They willingly changed their grill multiple times. We came as a party of 2 on a Saturday at 8 pm but we still had to wait ~20 minutes to be seated. I'm glad we came at a later time since it seemed like others had to wait even longer but IT IS WORTH THE WAIT! We ordered the beef combo (premium thinly sliced brisket, premium seasoned boneless short rib, premium skirt steak, beef brisket soybean paste stew). The premium thinly sliced brisket was a bit fattier than normal but it was still very good. The seasoning on the short rib was not too sweet and just right. Additionally, the premium skirt steak was top quality meat for sure. If anything the beef brisket soybean paste stew did need a bit of improvement. The meat used seemed more like some other beef than beef brisket and needed more deep flavoring of the soybean paste. We also ordered the pork belly and glad we did because it was worth it! This place is definitely not authentic. Portions are small. They don't serve lettuce to wrap the meat. Servers were not attentive, they were more fiction playing around then to see what the customers were needing. Way over priced. And to top it off, they closed down early. Last call for food was 11pm. This place was awesome! We got the Jin combo 1 which came with pork Jowl, bulgogi, short rib, and brisket and a choice between 2 soups. We got the kimchi stew which was spicy and tasty. We also ordered pork belly but we definitely didn't need it. There was sooo much food! Everything was delicious. They don't have a ton of options for drinks but I LOVED that they had just plain soju and not just the fruity stuff that's just too sweet for me. The staff was super friendly and fun. The KPop music was a little over the top but it really brought the energy in the place up. They had mouthwash in the bathroom and febreze at the door to get rid of all the garlic and kimchi smell. I thought that was thoughtful and hilarious. I would definitely recommend this place! Cool experience. We have been twice and the first time was much better than the second Come early or be prepared for a wit as it gets super busy fast! Its also great to come with more people so you can try more items. They have so many options to choose from and some great deals such as a beef or pork meal for 2 or 4 people. We have chosen a variety of different meats to cook ourselves and nothing has been bad all super tasty we especially enjoy the short rib and brisket. A few months prior, I would've rated Jin BBQ a 5 out of 5. This rating takes into consideration the price and service. Over the past year, I've gone to Jin more times than I'd like to admit. My frequent visits were purely due to the high quality of the meat (especially the pork belly and premium boneless short rib). But as of June 2021, the meat quality has taken a drastic downturn; this, plus the high price and limited sides (I would expect more sides at this price point), have heavily impacted my rating. Hopefully, the drop in quality is due to the supplier rather than a choice made by management. At this point, I don't see an upside to eating at Jin over Manna, Gen, or Sizzle. The meat quality at all you can eat obviously isn't the same as Jin's, but the price and sides are much better. Hopefully, they can turn the quality around to what it once was and return to being the best Korean BBQ in Arizona. read more
