One of my favorite restaurants in Omaha. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the prices are very reasonable. I've enjoyed numerous meals here -- the Farmers Skillet, Meat Skillet, omelets, bacon, and more. Everything has been cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious every time. read more

the fries were good, but the chorizo tacos were missing something or were too salty. while there was a line, a table was ready pretty fast and service was good nonetheless read more

It was my first time eating here and honestly it wasn't very good. To start it's a seat yourself type of establishment and that's nice, but We get to a table the cup in front of me had lipstick on it, so that was already off putting. I ordered the oatmeal with brown sugar along with strawberry's and blueberries. The blueberries were going bad, literally all shriveled, the oatmeal was way overcooked and flavorless. The pancakes weren't awful but weren't great either. Maybe it was just an off day. The bacon that they feature isn't worth 6.99. Just peppered bacon covered in sugar. read more

Jimmy's Egg is always a hit. Serving breakfast/brunch/lunch menu items made fresh to order Dedicated parking makes for easy access into this restaurant. Weekend peak hours can get busy so be prepared to wait as they do not take reservations. The team here works to ensure that tables turn quickly. Our servers were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Orders were delivered with amazing expediency. Food was perfect! All fresh ingredients, very tasty, and a great value for the money. The restaurant is clean, open and has a cheery vibe. Highly recommend stopping in for a meal anytime. They're only open early in the day so check their website for hours. read more

We recently had a great, late breakfast at Jimmy's Egg at 80th and Dodge. The friendly waitress greeted us with "Hey, guys!" which prompted an exchange about parts of the country which use that expression. But I digress! The menu is new from the last time we were here. I was very happy to see a separate menu for smaller appetites that was not a kids' menu. I ordered a two egg, two ingredients omelette with bell peppers and onion that was the perfect size. My side was a small bowl of fruit. No leftovers! Bookguy had the Cowboy Scramble: scrambled eggs, steak, red peppers, cheeses, avocado, onions, pico de gallo, and some spicy stuff over tots plus an English muffin. No leftovers for him either. The coffee was good too. We always leave here with happy tummies and today was no exception. read more

The food was good - big portions. I ordered The Classic - 2 bacon, 3 sausage, eggs your way, toast. Love the toast - I'm guessing it is grilled on the flat top not in a toaster oven, so crisp and buttery!!! Service was quick and friendly too. It's a cute modern place for breakfast and they serve lunch too. read more

We would normally order out breakfast from Jimmy's Egg when we didn't feel like cooking for ourselves, but today I was stunned when my spouse came home and told me our two breakfasts were over $30! The cost of a couple of eggs, hash browns, sausage links and toast at $15.00 per person is vastly overpriced for the lack of quality received. Honestly I could go to Le Peep (and would have had I known this sooner) and had a much better quality breakfast for less. Everything was greasy and it's obvious the toast is cooked on the grill which makes it greasy too. The photos their website shows are nowhere near what the end product looks like and they don't even have the presence of mind to add a piece of parsley to make the meal at least look presentable to go. I have put up with this food before because it was cheap and somewhat filling. The ambiance has always reminded me of a truck stop. After today we will not be back when they are obviously overcharging people for what is, financially, the most inexpensive meal of the day. read more

The service was great, Ashley took great care of us. My husband and I shared a breakfast and I added an additional egg and I also got some coffee. I like that they offer flavored coffee creamer. Breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular. I think there is something weird going on with the plumbing because when we went there was a bit of a sewage smell in the main dining room. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience. read more

Jimmy's Egg - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Omaha, Nebraska

I had the pleasure of eating at Jimmy's Egg in Omaha. Although I'm generally not into family-style breakfast/lunch places like this, I found the food to be pretty good for what it is! It's just that the choices really aren't exactly what I'm looking for - I want more 'elevated' and healthy choices, and this is more in line with what you'd expect for 'down-home' (and maybe not-so-good-for-you) cooking. That said - I think this style of food is in demand in the area - the place was absolutely packed! The line moved fairly quickly, and soon we were seated! Our server was very friendly and kept our drinks full throughout the visit. We got our food fairly quickly, and everything tasted good. I was very happy with the service and the food met my expectations! I just wish they had some more interesting and healthy options. read more

I have seen many good reviews for this restaurant chain. Service had long gaps of no service, the food was substandard. The ingredients in my omelette were chopped so small that I was not sure what they were. No flavor. Hash browns were okay. Pancakes good. I did not eat the omelette. Will not be going back. read more

The food is amazing and the survive is so nice. Favorite hot chocolate in town! Pancakes are soo good

The manger (Jody) of 108th and Q came to my table and started yelling at me for no reason And tell me she don't care if she gets fired. I don't even know this lady. Breakfast at Jimmy's was almost a perfect experience today. We arrived to fund a table for 2 had just opened. Thanks to our server, we had beverages and our meal in short order. Wow! I ordered the Biscuits and Gravy Gone Wild and fell in love. The size of the portion prompted me to immediately ask for a to go container. Perfect crusty biscuits with excellent gravy. Top that with tasty ground sausage, and cheese somewhere in there. Scrambled eggs and hashbrowns on the side. The coffee was a great blend. My companion ordered a great looking plate with sausage patties, eggs, hashbrowns and pancake. He had to do a "pushback" from the table as he was full. This is a rocking, not quite diner atmosphere that is quite comfortable. I always feel at home. And the service is outstanding. You can't go wrong here. Give it a try, if you haven't already! read more

Great service always! Food is always tasty and frequent menu changes mean there are always new treats to try. ALL servers are pleasant and the coffee keeps on coming! On Sunday (October 12, 2025 at 1:14PM) I happily chose to go to Jimmy's Egg with my best friend. As we were serviced by Mary, Mary gave some very disturbing and interesting comments towards us during her visits to our table. In the beginning she said "you know this is like a $20 omelette?" I took offense to that because I did not intend on her managing how I spent my money. Secondly, while taking our order she politely acknowledged me as "darling" then my friend as "bud". Thirdly, she then said "oh boy oh boy oh boy ..or girl" as she brought out our food. Need I to include my bestfriend is homosexual-- I felt completely awful to witness my friend feeling uncomfortable with her insult. Lastly, she reviewed our receipts and said "at least you're not picky eaters" as she makes another comment saying "you've got plenty of veggies". The insults were endless to our experience and I feel super offended that Mary failed to have pleased us during our time at Jimmy Egg on dodge. I will not recommend this place until Mary is handled appropriately. read more

Always loved breakfast here when I lived here. Visiting my mom and this is where she picked of all places for lunch. First time I've had lunch here and went with a patty melt and fries. I have only ordered the traditional breakfast from JE but it's always been tasty and hearty. Their eggs are delicious. The bacon is crispy. The Belgium waffle is fluffy and melts in your mouth. I've been hearing a lot about Jimmy's egg (especially the one out west with the line out the door...) so I decided to pop into this new location last Saturday. The interior is pretty cool, kind of a look that says, "yes, I'm about to drown my sorrows in gravy, but that's okay because the surroundings are so chic!" While the menu is extensive, the prices were very reasonable and staff assured me that they could do a 'to go' order quickly and even give me coffee. Oh, yeah, the coffee... definitely the worst I've had in recent memory. Have you ever thought, "maybe I could squeeze another cup or two out of those old grounds"? That's what this coffee reminded me of. I shudder to think of it... and didn't even drink it. Instead it rode around with me all day in my car until later I remembered and dumped it out on the ground (a sad fate for any coffee). As for the breakfast itself, it was good, though not really my kind of breakfast. This was the 'diner kind' of breakfast, heavy and greasy. I probably should've known better than to order something with the word "debris" in the name of the dish, but live and learn I guess. When they handed me the food, no less than 7 minutes after I'd ordered and paid, I thought to myself... holy crap, that's some heavy food. It was an entire large-size styrofoam to go container filled with a pile of food (see uploaded picture). That pile contained four biscuit halves, covered with gravy, topped with sausage, coupled with ham and smothered in melted cheddar cheese. On the side, I was offered the choice of home fries or hashed browns (again with an option to have my potatoes smothered in cheese and onions). I declined that offer and went with the home fries. The amazing thing was that the whole breakfast - enough to feed two hungry diners or four of me, turns out - was only about $8 all in. Definitely a good deal. But next time I head to Jimmy's, I know to order off their 'lighter items' menu... sweet potato pancakes, spinach and mushroom egg white omelette, turkey sausage, fruit and whole wheat toast. That's much more my style for so early in the day. read more

02-01-19 This was our first-time visiting Jimmy's Egg and I was pleasantly surprised, since it has a 3 1/2 star rating. When we got there, there was only one booth left, so we took it. Our waitress, Gretchen, came almost immediately, which was impressive considering some of the other comments. The restaurant has a bright and cheerful atmosphere and as previously mentioned great service. Gretchen check on our table several times and kept our coffee cups full. I was also impressed by the cleanliness of the restaurant and the restrooms. Their menu has a very good selection of breakfast items to choose from. I ordered the Carnitas Queso Skillet which consists of pulled pork, bacon, sausage, tomatoes, and onions scrambled with two eggs on a bed of seasoned crispy hash browns, topped with melted Monterey jack cheese, white queso, tomatoes, and green onions wit a side of grits with bacon. The skillet was delicious and enough to keep me satisfied until supper. The grits were smooth and creamy. My wife had the Three-Egg Omelette made with American cheese and sides of hash browns and crispy bacon. The crispy bacon was cooked just the way she asked for them to be. For me the only thing that could make this place any better would be if they served Bloody Mary's, we will be returning. read more

I went to Jimmy's Egg at this location for nostalgia. I sat at the counter to place a to go order. After 15 min of being ignored I asked who could take my order, a waitress replied they all could and said she would be back. She never came back. I stopped another waitress with an "excuse me" she made eye contact and walked over to the only male at the counter. He pointed to me. She slid her way down to me and I placed my order. I sat for what seemed like forever in time I thought my food should have been ready. I asked several people if I needed to pay first before my food is cooked. Both said no, then the original waitress finally came back to collect my payment and my order. My food had been cooked, sat to become cold. The food was terrible. Over medium eggs were poached eggs, the hash browns were saturated in grease, I honestly don't know what kind of bacon that was, but it was dark and chewy and never broke down as I chewed. I have no words for the pancakes. Overall, my classic combo was terrible. The staff could care less if I sat there twiddling my thumbs and I felt ignored. I wasted my money and 35-40 minutes placing and waiting for a To Go order that I can't get back. The one star I gave this place was generous. Jimmy's Egg, 205 N 80 st read more

So I tried twice to eat at this location. First time I walked in and stood at the "wait to be seated" sign for 5 minutes while I was ignored multiple times by staff. They walked right past me to get high chairs and even when I said "excuse me..." they never looked at me or acknowledged I was there. The second time the place was practically empty, sign says "please seat yourself", I did. Sat there for 10 mins and not one person came to me. I'm done. This has nothing to do with Covid. They were just flat out rude. read more

Don't go to Jimmy's egg early. Sat there for 15 minutes not a single wait staff came by didn't even get water. One elderly staff person walked by with a coffee pot and not stop to give me any. At about 10 minutes of setting there a waitress walked in from outside I told my wife our waitress just showed up and I was right. I didn't blame the one waitress but I do the others that is just plain bad service. We have had the one elderly waitress before she has to be one of the worst in Omaha. THIS location just lost a loyal customer. read more

Stepped in at 1:00 PM on a Sunday. There were literally only 4 tables in the entire place with customers seated. Nobody was in line in front of us. Not really impressed on my first visit here. Nothing to special or new to this restaurant. Just your basic breakfast/brunch place. Server never introduced herself...... maybe she forgot her name. Had my kids with me and had to ask for kids coloring sheets and crayons. Isn't it a international sign to bring those items to the table when you see kids? O well.... I chose the garbage omlet with house potatoes and 2 biscuits and country gravy The omlet was garbage, no flavor at all. The omlet is filled with hash browns, green peppers and sausage. I didn't finish because it was pretty boring. Not sure if I'll be back..... read more

Presentation of this place may be a little more outdated but don't let that fool you. Breakfast/brunch here is a good pick in Omaha. Great service and great prices. 3.8 in my scale but the service/price bumps to a 4 for Omaha. Walked in on a Thursday afternoon with 3 of my colleagues, no wait and the place was not really busy. Ambiance is like a ihop so I guess just american breakfast food chain. You seat yourself (how does that work when the place is crowded?) and the menus are at the table already. I had the griddle combo- one egg (subbed with 2 egg whites, for addtl price), turkey sausage and Belgian waffle. When the food came, I was honestly not impressed with the presentation.. But diving into the waffle, hey that's not bad! It's not as crispy as I would want it, but it was still good accompanying butter and maple syrup (what wouldn't be though). The eggs and turkey sausage were also fine. read more

I give it a five for fast, friendly service. I give it a four for proportion size, and over all taste. I ordered a Popeye omelet, which was good, but if they would use fresh mushrooms, instead of the no flavor canned it would have been a five. I give it a minus one for coffee. It was either the bottom of an old pot, or it was burnt coffee beans (like charbucks, yuk). If I go again, I would skip the coffee and just get a soda. read more

We have been here a few times now and love it. Their pancakes are always amazing. The service is absolutely wonderful.

Must be a midwestern thing but Omaha is finally catching on to the breakfast/lunch scene! The portions are traditional diner breakfast & lunch items served in the traditional diner fashion: HUGE PORTIONS & reasonably priced. My favorite item is the "pick your breakfast" where you can custom create your perfect meal for about $10. The staff is lovable and after a few visits will know your name & what you order! Love coming here for breakfast! read more

Looking to get some a.m. fuel to sustain a day of shopping. The menu seemed promising in terms of reliable, basic breakfast items. Upon walking in, was pointed to a small table by a waitress who appeared less than happy to be working that morning. After waiting for service for what seemed like forever, a booth opened up, so we flagged a different waitress to request a table change. Throughout the course of the morning, saw this situation occur repeatedly...couple sits, couple get ignored, couple requests table move. Thankfully, our new waitress was awesome! High energy, attentive and not afraid to recommend (or dissuade) us from choices when asked for her opinion. I opted for a traditional breakfast with two eggs over-easy, a ham steak, a mini stack o' pancakes and a side of grits with bacon and cheese. My brekky companion went for the garbage breakfast, which is basically breakfast casserole with all of the foods jammed onto one dish. With coffee that was always refilled, plenty of hot sauce to spark up the taste buds, and a breakfast that did its job - sustained us for hours of shopping - Jimmy's Egg came through. read more

Give me the Country Benedict any day! Egg (your way) over sausage over biscuit under sausage gravy and some cheese, which isn't really needed because it doesn't add any flavor that I can tell. Hash browns on the side and when I ask for crispy that's exactly how they come! Service is so very friendly and attentive. I've also had the egg white, spinach and mushroom omelet with cottage cheese and slice tomatoes. Yes, I've run the gamut at this restaurant and it's all good! Wondering where to go for a big post-colonoscopy breakfast? I went to Jimmy's Egg. It was our initial visit and we were not disappointed. The big cinnamon roll pancake looked tempting, but I went with the meat lovers omelette with wheat pancakes and biscuits and gravy. Great meal with some left over for lunch.
