I hadn't been to this new style of Village Inn yet, but visited this location recently (a few times) and was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. (This VI location is right by the Electrify America charging stations we use to top-up our car, so we have been here about three times since we got the car.) The new new design is a little more modern than the old green and orange palette, and the touches of the diner style they have added make it all work super well together. Modern with a touch of the old classic diner ambiance! The service has always been great when we went, even when we were there during/right after the lunch rush or the Sunday morning after-church crowd. Always checking on our drinks, asking if everything came out okay, etc. The food is pretty much the same as the old menu, but they do some limited time menu things and have some more coffee options and new menu items - so there is a bit of a difference! Our first visit, we had the Eggs Benedict (my husband is a huge benny snob, and said they were actually great), and the French Toast, which was cinammon-y, warm, and delicious. On a later visit I tried the Cookies and Cream Oreo Pancakes (which may be a limited time thing?) and they were to die for. Almost a dessert vs. a meal though, of course - but I did have it with the side of sausage and scrambled eggs to cut the sweetness of the overall plate! And on our most recent pop-in, we shared the Slow Roasted Turkey meal, and that was surprisingly great too. It was savory and so filling - it felt like Thanksgiving on a plate (in April!) I've only been to this one location of the newer style Village Inns, so I can't speak for all of the newer style ones (I think the one on 140th serves alcohol, if that's your thing). Not too much is different about the food (a few small things), but I think it's worth it to check this location out, as it feels a lot cleaner, modern, and homey than the old Village Inns we were used to. read more

We haven't been to a Village Inn in years. So this is the first time checking it out since the rebranding. I'm actually quite impressed with the re-branding. Everything looks so modern and the decor is really minimalistic and goes really well together. We went on a Sunday morning, around nine and to my surprise it wasn't that busy but I was glad we were able to get in right away. I ordered the French Silk Pancakes and my dining partner ordered the Chicken Fried Steak Scrambler. Overall I was a little disappointed in the pancakes, because they were over $11 for three pancakes, with just a little bit of chocolate topping. I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting but French Silk Pie is my favorite so this was a bit of a let down. The Scrambler was actually quite good, and had good flavor all around. This was definitely a better experience than we've had at IHOPs in the Omaha area so I hope the rebrand does well for them. read more

Jessica makes this place. She is an outstanding waitress who was thoughtful enough to pour wot water in the coffee cup and on the plates so they would not chill the coffee and food. Who does that? And Jessica is very competent and friendly. The food was perfectly prepared and in generous portions. The toast was toast not warm bread, too. One complaint, and this one is a shame. In spite of the excellent service and food presentation, the food tasted slightly of oxidized grill fat. That happens because the grill has not been properly cleaned. It is easy to overlook, but there is no excuse for it, and it diminishes all other great effort. So why the five stars in spite of the food's slight aftertaste? Jessica. Ordered pies for Thanksgiving like I always do. Got a confirmatipon text that said when I get there to text my first and last name to 402-337-4767. Sat in my car for 15 minutes and texted 3 times. Went inside finally and nobody behind the register offered to help me for another 15 minutes. After a woman asked what i needed she disappeared in the kitchen and 15 minutes later came out and boxed up one of my pies. By now there are approx 10 people in lobby waiting for pies. We went to Village Inn yesterday morning located near 180th and Center. I am so disappointed on how their service has gone to hell. First, the person at the door, that sat us, seemed to hate his job. No smile, no good morning, just a grumpy face. He walked away and set our menus on a table without a word. Then it was over 10 minutes before our server got to our table. Keep in mind, it wasn't super busy. She took our order for drinks along with our food since we'd had time to decide. Food came quickly and was good(only high point). Server came back quickly to check on us and then completely disappeared. We had empty water glasses for at least 15 minutes and couldn't finish our food. It was so long that I had to find the grumpy greeter to get her so we could pay and leave. I asked for a paper receipt and she gave me someone else's. What a waste of money and our not so frequent time out. We will not be going back any time soon. read more

The food I had was gas. I had a grilled cheese which was fire. I wanted the kids grilled cheese and the waiter refused to let me have it. As someone who only eats kids meals it was very disappointing. She was not very nice about it and refused to let me pay for the adult grilled cheese for the kids. My husband got the Turkey Avocado Bacon Melt. It was stale. The fries were terrible. My sister ordered plain pancakes and said they were good. So, in conclusion, if you have any taste buds at all, you won't like it. If you have the taste buds of a newborn or a 95 year old, I would 19/10 recommend. read more

I visited Village Inn today to order a pie for Easter dinner. Zach informed me that I had to do that online. So, apparently, it's too much effort to accommodate a customer who's made the effort to drive to their store. After I returned home I attempted to order online. A notice on the website for this particular location stated that no online orders could be placed from 8 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. I then called the restaurant to explain to Zach the difficulty I was having in placing that order. He said their internet had been down and that it was now online again. He told me I should be able to order. After refreshing my computer, it still refused online ordering. I asked Zach to clarify how I could get the order placed. He said he didn't know- then nothing. He had no solution. He offered nothing. He couldn't have cared less. He didn't give a $%&. A big Easter award to Zach for having such a great "I don't give a crap about customers" attitude. You win first place, Zach. read more

I went to my local Village Inn to grab some pies for Pi Day (3.14) and had such great help from Brianna at the front counter. She was very helpful and even ran to the back to get one that had just come out of the oven. It was so hot she used her sweater sleeves to hold onto it. Woo hoo!! Opened again! We went out to dine in a restaurant for the first time in two months, and it was fabulous! The staff was happy, the food was great, and our waitress Payton was delightful! Yes, staff has to wear masks, but I could tell she has a lovely smile, because you could see it in her eyes when she smiled. We'll definitely be returning soon, and often! We used to frequent another location in town, but it went downhill the past few years. So glad we tried this location and are back to loving Village Inn! read more

After a bad experience with the Village Inn on Dodge street in Omaha I was hesitant to try it again, but am glad I did. This location is excellent. The service is something to be copied in all locations, warm, friendly and on point. The food was fantastic, the pic I attached is what I thoroughly enjoyed, very tasty and fresh ingredients. Sometimes it's not always finding that hole in the wall great breakfast place. I always think about availability and consistency. Village Inn is that place. You can't go wrong with an omelette, hash, and pancakes. I also appreciate that most servers are pleasant, always return to fill up your coffee or water, and start a conversation with you that is not meal related. The pies are fine but not like Whole Foods quality. Once in a while, you will get the parents with out of control kids next to you but you can tell from their faces, they are looking to pass the time without having to deal with this at home. Prices are affordable and special orders can be arranged if needed. read more

This restaurant is not practicing what they preach. They have a lot of "safety theater" in the form of signs, hand sanitation at each table, etc. However, despite a notice at the front door requiring masks for entry, I just watched them seat three parties (including children) who entered with no masks. No request for compliance was made, and the parties were permitted to move about the restaurant (to and from the restroom, children running around) without masks. Employees were both compliant and accommodating, and the service and food were fine as usual. I understand restaurants are trying to stay afloat, and I appreciate their dilemma, but disregarding local laws and public health cannot be excused. Will not return until public safety is prioritized over profit. read more

Loved this place. My daughter did too. It's like IHOP, but way better. We came for Sunday morning breakfast and arrived around 8am. We were seated right away but by the time we left it was PACKED. Went here for dinner and ordered off there dinner menu, had the chicken sandwich which was very good. Had a slice of pie for dessert which was excellent as usual! Can't really go wrong with village inn always a solid option not going to wow you in anyway with quality and atmosphere but not going to disappoint either. I was kind of disappointed at the appearance of the food. Presentation is everything. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette, got a ham and cheese scramble. The eggs were scrambled with the ham and then cheese was melted on top. That is not a ham and cheese omelette. The pancakes have a weird taste to them. Almost like sour milk. Honestly quite sad. My wife and I have been coming here since we moved to Millard. It used to be our go to breakfast spot until now. I know this is village in so off the bat I am not expecting culinary genius. However, I expect food to look and taste as it portrays and or should be from previous breakfast experiences. Today was the last straw. This and the last time the service was the worst I have ever had. One waitress I am sure you know who you are have an oversized pencil/pen and say stupidity like time for yummies in your tummies. Not only is this unprofessional but it is juvenile and not ok when addressing adults. On to the food. Again I know I should expect mediocre greasy diner food. Today however I ordered an omelet with an extra egg and it came out shaped like a ball and no bigger than the normal omelette I have ordered prior. It had almost no filling as it was supposed to be packed with filling. My pancakes were burnt, and my hash browns were undercooked. This will be the last time I ever frequent this establishment and recommend the same for anyone else thinking of going here for a highly mediocre breakfast read more
