1 Pork Chop and 2 Eggs
    Phillip K.

Simple, cheap, old school greasy spoon. Friendly service in a kitschy atmosphere. The pork chop and eggs are fantastic. I'm glad I got just one chop, cause it's rather large for a breakfast pork chop.

I loved this little backwoods breakfast cafe, like something out of the 50s, it's not ihop or dennys, if you want that go there, and don't leave these folks a bad review because the place wasn't clean in your head, this is a little mom and pops restaurant, prices are pretty much al a carte for everything, build your own breakfast, wether it's 2 eggs sausage and toast, or 7 eggs 2 pancakes and hasbrowns, everything is sticky, but it's history, it's your typical Mel's diner, and tiny kitchen but that lady cooking for all 7 different meals out hot and at the same time, better than any ihop I've ever been too, ihop cooks can't figure out how to make more than 1 order of eggs at a time, I'd go back here again and again, cash only, don't complain about that either, then afterwards go next door to the Mexican bakery ...amazing

Stopped in for a late Sunday breakfast. I really like this place! It is a total hole in the wall with friendly old fashioned service! I felt as if I was eating in a small town diner. I'd say it reminded me of Mel's Diner (TV show), but this place was not as fancy as Mel's Diner!! It wasn't too busy when we arrived. Grabbed a booth that still needed cleaned off. Our waitress came to ask what we wanted to drink. She then wiped off our table with a very wet rag, and then tossed our napkins onto the soaking wet table. Eesh. Had to use our napkins to dry off the table! Anyway...we laughed that off. There are a ton of knickknacks all over this place. Between that and the menus all over the walls, there was not a lack of things to look at! We stuck with the basic eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns. My eggs came out a touch overdone, but nothing I'd complain about. Bacon was crispy and I asked for my hash browns to be crispy, and they were perfect! Everything was good...prices and quality very comparable to 11-Worth Café! We also ordered sides of biscuits and gravy, and a blueberry pancake. Both were tasty! For many this place would be just too casual for them, but for many folks that are looking for a decent meal that is cheap and quick...this is your place! Friendly service and good grub. I'd like to come back and try something for lunch. They have several lunch/dinner items that sound good! Oh...and cash only!

DP ordered Lemon Berry Pancakes, a plate-filing short stack of goodness. I'd like to say it tasted as good as it looked, but I couldn't tell as DP chowed down like a hound from hell. In a good way, of course. She did allow me to share her Maple Braised Bacon (meaning that I was able to snatch a piece while she wasn't looking). Really, really fine, something I'd definitely order again. For me. Not to share. I had the Schnitzel Bennie with tart cherry jam and lemon hollandaise. Sound unusual? Tasted great! My only gripe was that the pork cutlet was a bit small and could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. Would I order it again? You betcha! Service was fast and efficient. The decor was quirky and inviting but the space was loud enough that it was really hard to carry a conversation. Overall rating: yahoo!

We said first available seats, which ended up being at the end of the bar. More about that later... I ordered the vegan standard and hubs ordered the banana bread French toast. The server was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner, considering the place was packed. Regarding the vegan standard, it seems they have cut back on the amount of tofu scramble and increased the amount of hashbrowns, which was a little bit disappointing. As usual it was very tasty though! I tried a bite of the hubs French toast and it was VERY unique and tasty! II will be getting that next time. I was disappointed to hear that they haven't brought back the vegan biscuits and gravy, but maybe once again they will! So the food was great but our experience, not so much, based on where we were sitting. I feel like they should not even use the last spot at the bar to seat a patron. Right next to where I was sitting is the place they bring the clean silverware to dry it off, then they would toss it into the silverware holder. The noise was very annoying and they did nothing to try to even be quiet about it. The other thing about that location is the register is pretty much right in your face, like 15 inches directly in front of me and someone was pretty much there the whole time. Other areas of the bar wouldn't be quite so bad, but next time we will wait longer to get a table or sit at the bar top that looks outside instead of at all the workers doing their thing and talking to each other. Other than the location of where we sat this visit, this is still one of our top spots for a yummy vegan breakfast, and we will be back!

The restaurant offers a mix of booths and tables, and I love the thoughtful theming throughout. The owner is incredible. So kind, genuinely passionate about what he does and always willing to customize orders to make sure guests leave satisfied. My husband and I visited for lunch on Friday. It was busy, but we easily snagged a booth and our food arrived quickly. I tried the Gregg's Chicken Enchiladas and absolutely loved it. So much so that I finished every bite, which is rare for me since I usually get full quickly! The plate wasn't small either, and the chicken was perfectly cooked with just the right touch of spice. It came with a side of black beans and rice. My husband had the Carne Asada Burrito and was equally impressed; he didn't leave a single crumb on his plate. We make it a point to visit at least once a month for breakfast or lunch because we love supporting this place. I cannot recommend it enough!

This Breakfast/Brunch gem features a U shaped bar flanked by booths on either end of the room. Walking into this place feels like walking into a Time Machine from when it was opened in 50s or 60s (website said 1968). Regardless it hasn't changed much and that's the charm of it all. The background story of who Harold was captures the American spirit and the wall decorated with his war medals brings it all home and bolsters the charm of this place. In addition to Harold's story, the business also has some Hollywood charm. We sat diagonal from the booth that Jack Nicholson sat in for the 2002 film "About Schmidt" where he played a retired insurance agent from Omaha (the film was also mostly filmed on location). You'll know if you're in the booth because there is a gold plaque commemorating the booth. The servers were fast and friendly. This diner is known for their homemade cake donuts, cinnamon rolls, and pecan rolls; we unfortunately did not partake as we were too full. Prices were reasonable and as stated before, you get a lot of food. Bottom line: if you need a brunch spot and you have the time, go check out this dime of a diner...you won't regret it.
