I ordered a bunch of subs and chips online and they were ready lickety split! I was amazed at how fast my order was prepared, they get the Fast & Delicious Award. There was nothing subpar about them! They were packaged well, larger than I expected, but the bread didn't overwhelm the sandwiches. Everyone at my work was happy with the subs. We ordered the Lil John's: BLT, the Pepe, the Vito, Turkey, & Big John and several bags of chips, which were crispy and lightly salted. I'd definitely order lunch from them again. This is my second bad experience with JJ so I felt it time to leave a review. A few weeks ago I placed a delivery order, and it took 1 hour to get to me. I placed it through the store (not 3rd party) and yes the sky fell out and it started to torrentially rain while the driver was on the way. I let it slide, but did call to check that they actually had the order because it had been one hour since I placed my order. Not very "Freaky Fast" if you ask me. Fast forward to today. I have somewhere to be at 12:45. I placed my order at 11:19 - hoping to have it by 12. It just showed up at 12:11. This is 8 minutes short of an hour. Ridiculous. I know the industry is suffering, but please don't promise "Freaky Fast" Delivery when you literally can't deliver. read more

This particular location is a pathetic excuse for a sandwich shop from top to bottom. I have had two extremely negative experiences with service and food quality at this location which were only exacerbated by the poor caliber management. First, I did a large catering order, which despite the high cost, they refused to deliver although it was within 1.5 mile of their location. They took very little care in the presentation of the sandwich platter, the sandwiches were flat and strewn about the tray. I had to ask to have condiments provided and when doing so they cautiously relinquished about 5 mustard and mayo packets (I ordered food for 25 people). They also did not provide plates or napkins. While all this is a terrible inconvenience, the sandwich were stale, flat and unsubstantial. My second experience was at the request of a customer and I reluctantly agreed. The order was for boxed lunches and was delivered, albeit late. The food quality seemed to be average at best, but one order was incorrect. Aside from being incorrect, the sandwich looked like someone had picked all the ingredients off of it and left only a shadow of what it should have been. When we called to report the mistake, it took nearly an hour (shop is 5 minutes away) for the corrected sandwich to arrive. It was made incorrectly, again. The most disturbing part of the whole experience was the shop's "General Manager" who acted as if he was doing me a favor by taking my call. He was so obtuse he could not understand what the issue was or how to handle it. I spoke to him in a calm and professional manner, however he accused me of "coming at him with a impolite tone" when I questioned his ability to handle a customer complaint properly. James is in completely over his head and should be sent back to training from the beginning. Even on a perfect day, can you really imagine craving one of their sandwiches? They are average on a good day and I would certainly not deal with this location again. They should stick to delivering their sub-par product to drunk college kids who don't know any better or who don't care. read more

Since my previous review, I have become a Jimmy John's addict! Since they offer free and super (or ask they say, freaky) fast delivery, I frequently order JJ when I "forget" to pack my lunch. You can order online and for me, they deliver within 15-30 mins...usually on the fast side of that time frame. Do be sure to tip well. ..... Stopped by on the way home from work and picked up a sub (called the country club)....good sandwich. Fresh bread and veggies and the meat was a good quality. WAY better than Subway, etc. read more

Two days in a row myself and coworker have eaten here. Once we had it delivered to a worksite and it came extremely quick but my order was incorrect. Second time was tonight and after working a 13hr shift I just wanted something simple and the order was incorrectly again. This time I went in and picked it up. Ah, Jimmy John's. The restaurant of my college years. Stumbling out of a bar at 2am and NEED. FOOD? Go to Jimmy John's. Staaaaarving at work and need to get lunch in your system ASAP before you go off on your coworker? Call Jimmy John's. When they say that they are freaky fast, they ain't lying. Every single time I've ordered delivery from them, it seems like they're at the destination before you can even get off the phone. We used to joke at work that they must make those subs in the car because there's no way a delivery service can be that fast. Never thought I'd be a fan of JJ's beyond college and alas here I am. A grown adult going into Jimmy John's by choice...in broad daylight. Not stumbling out of a bar. For some reason I wanted a sub the other day. Jimmy John's was on the way to where I was going, so I decided to pop in. I got the club and yep it was as good as I remembered. Something about the bread and the mayo that they use just sets these subs off for me. I wish they had their wheat bread in sub roll form, but unfortunately, you just can't have it all. I really like this location. I've always had really great, and 'freaky fast' service. I've been to this jimmy johns about 3 times this week and each time has been a very pleasant experience! But my most recent visit is what prompted me to finally write a 5 star review. I always order the #17 as an 'unwich' (lettuce wrapped instead of the bread) and I always ask for it to be double wrapped with lettuce - I like it this way because it makes the sandwich a little more substantial and keeps the mayo and tomato juices from dripping out of the bottom; well this particular time the gentleman who rang me up was also the same to make my sandwich and he actually showed me the lettuce he was going to use and asked if that was to my liking. He totally didn't have to do that but I very much appreciated it! To me that was going above and beyond normal customer service. He was so nice and friendly I was just really happy with the interaction and the ocerall experience. Overall I really like this location. I usually go after typical 'lunch time' so I don't know how it is when it's their busy time, but I definitely would recommend! read more

I called at 11:00 PM on a Sunday night from Henrico Doctor's Hospital. I had no idea what the address was so I had to run over to the nurses station and the nurse had to shuffle around looking for it while the guy on the phone patiently waited. I finally got my order in and within 20 minutes the delivery guy had pulled up the the exact hospital entrance I had mentioned on the phone (one of six?), "freaky fast" indeed. For a Sunday night in the hospital it really made my day. Most importantly, the wife was really happy. I ordered a Vito on line for lunch. The sandwich is supposed to have cappicola and salami and provolone cheese. I received my sandwich and it did not have one piece of cappicola on it. I called the store to complain that I didn't get what I ordered. I was told that there is a shortage of cappicola on the state of Virginia. I was also told that it states on their website that cappicola is unavailable. When looking at their app it states that due to supply change shortages there maybe a short supply of somethings. And I note it is atbthe very Bottom of the screen so unless you scroll all the way to the bottom before hitting the order now button you would not see that disclosure.You would think that when one of the main ingredients of a sub you are ordering is not available they would either call you to let you know or take that sub off the menu until the main ingredient is back in stock. I was told to make up for the lack of cappicola I got double salami. If I wanted just a plain salami sandwich that is what I would have ordered. When speaking to the manager I did not get an apology or offered something else. I spent 10 dollars on a sandwich that I didn't order. I had a pretty discouraging experience. I recently called them and placed an order with them for delivery. 45 minutes go by and no delivery. So I called them and asked if the delivery was still coming my way. The manager came on the line and told me that I never game them a form of payment and that I had hung up on them. The manager did not want to see my point of view. The truth was that he never asked for my payment. Regardless, they could have called me back to confirm my payment since I had just given them my phone number. Terrible customer service. Update. I have now ordered several times from Jimmy John's and I have to say it has remain one of my favorite sandwich places to order from. The quality of the sandwiches they make are excellent and the time it takes from when you order it until it arrives is still the best. My favorite sandwich is the Pepe. We order Jimmy Johns from this location regularly. We have it delivered and it's usually a timely delivery. We ordered three meals today complete with sandwich, drink, and chips. It was delivered in a timely fashion and was put in a box that was easy to move. My veggie sub was great and they included mayo and salt and pepper in the bag as request but...... No napkins. The minuses about this location are that if you order after noon, delivery can take longer, and we cannot order online but they do deliver to us. read more

The team at Jimmy John's stepped up, figured out how to supply that many boxed lunches between 2 locations and got everything to the closest Jimmy John's to my office to pick up, and all about 45 minutes before I needed it. They didn't complain, were nothing but incredibly helpful and appreciative of my business. Being in customer service, I know the importance of stepping up to a big challenge when a customer needs it and this team did just that. They saved the day for our event and in less than 3 hours. I would highly recommend giving them at least 24 hours notice, but we will definitely be using them again for catering with advanced notice! Our customers loved the boxed lunches. I love The Jimmy John's chain. They are normally consistent, fast and so yummy! This location is not welcoming. I thought I was intruding on the cashier's day. He was busy doing something but couldn't spare a minute to look up. It was awkward to just stand there without him saying anything. He finally asked what I wanted, told me it would ready at the end. None of the employees looked up, no one was smiling, the person out cleaning looked miserable. Fast, Fast, Fast, & Fast! Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches are delicious and the staff prepares your sub fast. I usually get the Italian or the Roast Beef sub. The Italian sub is my favorite. The subs has good flavor. For a sub that's prepared so quickly, the finish product is quality. The bread is delicious, the meat is quality, and the veggies are fresh. Jimmy John's have potato chips and cookies along with their subs. I usually order online sometimes and my subs are ready in 10 minutes max.This Jimmy John's stay open pretty late. The service is always fast and good. The employees are friendly.This Jimmy John's location offer customers seating inside of the restaurant. The atmosphere at this location is usually laid back and quiet. If you are in a rush or you want a good quality sub, Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches is a good choice. read more

Used to order here regularly but the past few times has been pretty bad. Takes 40-45 minutes for delivery now when it used to take 20 minutes tops. The sandwiches have been made poorly; sprinkles of lettuce, meat thrown all over the place, mustard/mayo falling out on one side and non-existent on another. Worst experience ever at Jimmy Johns !! After speaking with customer service Regardging my experience. I called the owner of the location (Jen Crawfton). Last night I went to Jimmy Johns to pick up a Sandwich for my mother. I ordered the sandwich and paid 6 dollars with cash. Then I attempted to use my mother's cards (they declined). When I used my cards a few declined then I remembered I had to transfer money from my savings account to my checking. The manager walked to the register and said he was going to call the police. I asked why was that necessary and he said that it's too many declined cards it seems fraudulent, he then proceeded to call the police. I tried to assure him that the cards were mine and my mothers and I offered to show him my identification, and he declined and said "no get out you're not allowed in this jimmy johns anymore". I asked "when will the money be returned to my card and may I get my cash". he gave me the cash in a rude manner and said in an irritated tone "it will be on 1-2 business days". I exited the store then two gentlemen that were standing outside asked what happened and one offered to pay because of the treatment i received. I walked in behind the gentleman and the manager said that I had to go, I wasn't allowed in the store anymore, and the police were on their way. I offered for him to look at my identification card again and he declined and I asked for his name. He said "John" I asked if I could get his last name as well and he said "no I don't give my last name to thieves and frauds". Today I spoke with the owner of the store and she wasn't emphatic, nor apologetic. She stated that she "will have to review the tapes to tell the varasity of the situation". the tone in her voice and her responses Made it seem like she didn't believe what I was saying. I'm completely disappointed, and embarrassed with what happened. I was made out to be A thief , liar , and a criminal. I just ordered a sub from this location. When it arrived the bread was hard as a rock. I called back and asked if they could send me a new sandwich, and they did. (I even offered to give them the first sub back and the driver said no) Well this bread was harder than the first sub. I call to get my money back and get a rude response from the "manager" which I'm pretty sure she wasn't a manager at all. She was raising her voice and told me I had to give both sandwiches back to get my money back? Wow. How does that make any sense, if they didn't even want the first one back. They even went as far to say that the bread was probably hard because the driver probably had a delivery before mine? That doesn't make bread hard. This entire situation lasted over an hour and now I'm stuck with two hard as rock subs. Will NEVER order from here again. You can keep your day old bread. They are only supposed to sell the day old bread for like 50 cents or something, mostly to poor VCU students. I know this because I used to buy that bread when I lived in the dorms. I called to place an order for 6 subs, for New Year's Eve guests and after asking the guy who answered a question about one of the subs his entire tone changed, and he began to speak very short. I gave my order for the first two subs, and while confirming the next sub with one of my guest, the rep on the phone says "why are you calling if you don't know what you want," told me to call back, and hung up. Awful customer service, and not good business to turn someone away who is a paying customer. When we called to speak to a manager, he was just as rude. A true POS operation.....i have ordered and picked up many times from this shop and i know they deliver to University of Richmond and i have seen there flagged cars in my neighborhood ...i called and placed and order for a delivery...and was told i was OUT of there range...(I have seen there flagged cars in my neighborhood many times)... i clocked the mileage to the shop 1.9 miles..and was talking to the manager when a driver walked in and said " i'm calling the police" so i left. The sandwiches are delicious. The bread is soft and slightly chewey but not in a stale way and the mayonnaise, guacamole and whatever else that might be in the sandwich doesn't even have a chance to soak in so the lettuce and condiments and crisp and the flavors jump out. I have NO problem with the food. However, the service here sucks. I work nearby and once a week order my lunch for myself and anyone else in my office that hungers for the taste of Jimmy John's to be delivered. I cannot remember a single week where the delivery didn't take at least an hour to travel less than two miles. If that was the case, they should let the paying customers know it will be a long wait and they can pick it up themselves. However, they do not and now we're getting the wrong sandwiches and have to wait an additional 45 minutes to eat because when we called, they said we needed our order ticket and the old sandwich to give back. This location is only freaky fast if you go there in person. If your order it, you will most likely save time by walking to the Martin's next door, buying fixins for a sammich and then walking back to you house and putting a fresher and most likely cheaper sandwich together yourself. I was happy I stopped in, because the Gourmet Smoked Ham Club Sandwich was really good. The lettuce and tomato was very fresh, and you don't always get that at fast food places.
