It wasn't bad, but it wasn't glowing either. I got the beef and lamb gyro and my boyfriend got the chicken shawarma sandwich. We also got a side of French fries, just water to drink. My gyro was Very good! I enjoyed it immensely. There was a lot of meat. The right amount of additives (could have used more tomatoes, but meh). My boyfriend's shawarma wasn't the same as the region he's used to, so he found it more of "meh" tasting. The whole establishment is VERY small! When you first walk in, if there are people there, you will be saying "I'm sorry" and "excuse me" a lot. We went for a late lunch and it was packed! It's across the street from the Denver Grad School down town, so a lot of their clientele are students. It also helps that they're open all night long. There were five four seat tables and three two seat tables inside. Outside were some more and bigger tables. No two sweaters outside. It is covered, which is really nice. But, since it was breezy, there was no sitting outside that day! When we walked up to the counter the gentleman asked if we were eating there or ordering to go. We said we wanted to eat there. He told us to just "grab a table of it was open." None of the waitresses really asked if you wanted a table or how they could help. Maybe it's not in their job description? But still. When we finally got an open table one of the girls came by and gave us menus and then brought us water. We never got refills, which was a major turn off for me. She took our order rather quickly, and the food didn't take long to come out. Giving us our check took forever. The girls didn't even look our way for a good 10 minutes, and they had lines of people out the door. We figured they'd want us out sooner than later to free up the table. Parking is not ideal. There are three small rows of parking to the one side. I'm not sure about the other. We were lucky to get a spot. They seemed to have a lot of good dessert things, but we decided to go elsewhere. I've been coming here since 1993! It's great! The menu is vast, so is the dessert selection. The dining rooms are worn in (to be nice) but that makes it feel more authentic. I've mostly ordered the super combo and it is still as good today as it was in 1993! There's such a huge selection in the combo! We ordered from Uber Eats. The food arrived cold which may or may not be their fault. However, we ordered the hummus appetizer and when it arrived there was NO pita to eat it with. The menu description clearly stated that pita would be included. What good is hummus if you have no pita? The gyro meat had good flavor but the neat itself was dry. If you try to change anything they are confused and never get it right (because of allergies is why I modify it). My gyro sucked today. Very little meat, pita was stale and falling apart, I asked to add French fries - they were raw, I asked for no lettuce so they didn't put anything else in it either. The food is pretty good! I've been coming here for a few years since I grew up in this area. They had some rough ratings for a while, but cleaned up their act. I recently called in to get an order placed, and the guy was SO rude. I asked maybe two or three questions about an order and he responded very sarcastically. Great mediterranean/middle eastern food! Been coming here for years! My family and I always make an excuse to come here! Food is outstanding!!! Servers are always changing but the cooks always seem to be doing well (food's always great). Can add a half order of hummus or Baba ghanouj to anything! I always get the beef Shawarmah plate. The combo and meat plates are also very good! Entrees come with the fatouch salad and warm pita and everyone I go with enjoys the various desserts they offer. I've been going here for at least 10 years and pretty much always order the lamb gyro with siracha on the side. Every time it tastes the same, delicious. The consistency is why I keep going back. When family's in town, we take them here. My wife and I live in the highlands but feel the drive is well worth it. If I went to DU, I'd probably try to work here for a shift gyro. I would give this restaurant a zero if I could. I was told to find a table and the server would be there shortly. I waited a while for the server to greet me. He got my drink order and I got that in a reasonable time. He finally gets my dinner order starting with an appetizer. About 30 or 40 minutes later he proceeds to inform me that the kitchen lost my ticket. This is after I noticed that many people who sat down were already eating their dinners. He told me that the kitchen was working on it now. Another 30 or so minutes later there is still no food, not even the appetizer I ordered. I've ordered this plate in the past to share with another person because it was so large! This is a pathetic version of their combination. The falafel were extremely dry and hard. The rice was hard. And I didn't receive any tzatziki, which in the past was always included at the table. Perhaps it doesn't come with the combo and is just offered in the restaurant. I might be back to eat at the restaurant, maybe. Great hole in the wall restaurant with great customer service. Parking is a bit tight, but we got lucky and waited it out. The interior is decorated really well, a middle eastern vibe. We tried the chicken and falafel wraps, both were delicious. We also checked in on yelp and got a free baklava which is not store bought and actually made in the restaurant. read more

Friendly, fast service. Able to sit inside and dine at a few tables--more outdoors. Restrooms and are also located outdoors. I ordered the chicken gyro entree with tabbouleh. The tabbouleh had too much parsley for my liking. The chicken was good and so was the rice, but it needed a sauce. My husband ordered the beef shawarma sandwich and I wish I had--it looked amazing and had a lot of tzatziki on it. The hummus was great and the piles of pita were very warm. I arrived in Jerusalem in a cool crisp Wednesday night for second dinner after throwing back some wild caught salllmon like diet dew. I was initially surprised at the size of Jerusalem and baby Jesus was nowhere in site. I really had to go number 2 so I ran a 4.3 40 to the bathroom. This bad dog was so small i felt like will ferrel in the movie ELF. The shitter was so shallow my private bits were halfway submerged. We started with the lentil soup and some hummus. The lentils were great but I do prefer chick pee ;). The hummus was very sub par. Our server Alina was very attentive, she had an AC/DC shirt on which was fitting because the service was rock n roll! She recommended the fatouch salad which was fresher than will smith in bel air. I also ordered the sambusa which was very disappointing it tasted like a frozen breakfast burrito that wasn't microwaved enough, it was cold. The inside was nicely decorated. Jerusalem's is my go to spot for a late night dinner. But not always has the best food. I would say it's 60/40, the 60 on the good side. Some times this restaurant is amazing especially if the owner is there. Food is cooked to perfection and the desserts are great. When Jerusalem's is having a bad day it's having a really bad one. Not sure why the rating's so low. We love this place! It's a monthly staple for us and we always get it when we're in the area. The chicken shawarma may not taste like the homecooked stuff I had growing up, but it's still really good! I think they use a slightly different spice mix anyway. When my nephew who is a DU student suggested this place, I was all in. As a new Denver transplant, I'm all about finding my new go to places and this one hit it out if the park. The food is phenomenal and the portion sizes generous. Be prepared to share or have multiple take home meals. They make use of all of the available space in the building so if you don't like tight spaces I would recommend getting takeout. The best bet is to walk or bike as they have a very small parking lot. We ordered some falafel to start, and each had a beef and lamb gyros sandwich, and split a side a fries. Holy cow, did this end up being a lot of food! The falafel here is reaaally good. They were hot, not overly dry, and the tahini was just right. Some tahini can be gritty. This was smooth, and flavorful without too much garlic. Our gyros sandwiches were delicious, and honestly, we should have probably just split one. They're huge! Yummy, light tzatziki sauce, and really flavorful meat with some lettuce and diced tomatoes. The fries were just just fries, and honestly, I would pass on them next time. Our server was friendly, and really efficient despite the lunch crowds. We left full and (happily) a little sunburned. Will be back!! Tip: there are a lot of vegetarian, vegan, and even a few gluten-free offerings here. They're also open until the wee hours (4 or 5am), if that's your thing. Amazing food at a great value. This place used to be a small convenient store/ gas station converted to a restaurant, so there is an interesting floor plan. There's not a lot of space inside so this may not be the best spot for larger groups but they do offer outdoor seating which would be great on a nice day. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable on the menu but they weren't the most attentive. On the attentiveness scale I would give a 5 out of 10. The tabbouleh and chicken shawarma were some of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back when I'm in Denver. read more
