Came here to try authentic middle eastern food with our group that includes my Lebanese friend and his wife. While the food is mainly from Sudan, there are several similar items to what he is used to and what we know from other middle eastern restaurants. I will gladly explore something new, and decided on not only the known 4-part appetizer platter but also a spicy chicken plate that was supposed to have seasonings resembling peanut butter. The flavor of the seasoning was really tasty but I didn't get the peanut butter as much as our waitress mentioned. If the chicken itself wasn't so dry and the pita a little softer (they likely use a microwave instead of an oven to heat their pita), this would've been a 5-star dish. The overall rating loses another star for the atmosphere. No music. Only one person managing the front of house and at one point, she took her purse, walked out and went on an errand for 15 minutes. Our food became ready while she was out, so shortly before she came back, the chef had to come out and bring us the food. She was very nice, and likely stressed from being along in the front, so they would provide a much better experience if they had a second person up front. read more

If I'm not mistaken this is a woman owned business. If so, way to go! As I navigated my way to get to this restaurant tucked in this little neighborhood near I-25 and Evans, their solid reputation motivated me to try it out for the first time the past weekend. And I'm glad I did. The restaurant was empty around 2pm (ish) on a Saturday, as I walked in nobody was around. Great photo taking moment is what I thought! While I was snapping some photos a woman walked out of the kitchen to greet me. She gave me one of the menu after I informed her this was for to go. After perusing it for a quick minute or so I set my eyes on the Half Grilled Chicken. Unfortunately though, the lady (after confirming with the kitchen) told me they were still cooking it so it'd take at least 30 minutes before it would be ready. I then asked her if Tikka (lamb dish) was ready for a quick to go. She said yes. This is a dish with lamb steak pieces but she kindly asked me if I would like a mixture of the steak pieces and Kebab meat (minced meat) which she was willing to do the alternative. Liked this idea of hers a lot so I gave her my peppy yes. My food was finally going! I looked around the entire restaurant thoroughly. Not necessarily super fancy in any way and yet I saw some accented decors (tapestry, artwork etc.) on every single wall. Not overly done; just the right amount of noticeable things here and there but most of all it was very clean. Took a bit over ten minutes before my meal came out; sure sign that they did prepare it fresh for me. She handed me a bag that contained it and off I went to do my business I had for the afternoon. Once I parked I checked what it looked like inside the box and it was beautiful. I, of course, took enough bites of it to ensure the quality of it as well. Yes, I agree with great reviews left by others. This place is solid. Between the lamb steak pieces and kebab I ended up liking the kebab slightly more but both of them were perfectly marinated in whatever the spices they used to make them. The bed of rice had the perfect moisture. The hummus almost tasted like baba ghanouj; very creamy indeed. This restaurant is now included in my "best Mediterranean restaurant" list in my neighborhood. As of this writing, I can still taste the delicious food I ate several days ago. What a magical food adventure! The flavors, spices, and the attention that was put into this! Here's the thing- this type of attention takes time and love so if you want microwave speed, don't come here. However, if you want food that is made from scratch by people who obviously care? Then this is where you go. I enjoyed the falafel plate, my son the shawarma wrap, and my husband's was the Tuti plate. The service was some of the best I've had in a while! Tuti stole my heart... seriously. The food was so good I basically forgot to take pictures. Located in am assuming strip center, everything we ordered was delicious, fresh and made to order. Came here with a group of 6 people based on the great Yelp reviews and we found them to be very accurate. The service was very nice and attentive, the food came quickly and was well presented. The meat was just so delicious and nicely spiced. My favorites were the Lamb Kebab and Falafel. The meat was so soft and tasty and the Falafel were and tasted so fresh! ABSOLUTELY BEST HUMMUS I've EVER had!! Their fare is really delicious and not overcooked meat like other places I've been to. Excellent seasonings and tender marinated meats and their salad and rice are tasty tasty. The one thing I was disappointed with was the poor quality of the breads. They got hard very quickly and that's a sign of microwaving the bread. :( The interior was spacious and clean with lots of sturdy tables and chairs. The televisions had calming videos of birds and beautiful music playing and it was really pleasant and peaceful. I would love to come back and try their other preparations but the bread needs to not be stale. Our server was wonderful and sweet and attentive so I did not want to complain. I got the shawarma plate to go, there was a good amount of food although I expected a little more for the price of $25.00. The chicken shawarma was delicious and really well seasoned. Their pita was extremely thin, almost like a hybrid of typical pita and a tortilla. The hummus had a lot of olive oil on top, a little much for my liking. The restaurant had a relaxing atmosphere and a very clean dining area. I'm not positive I'll be back but I appreciate the care you can tell is put into their food. read more

Very good take-out order of baba ganoush and lamb kebabs. Those who read every review I write (yeah, right:), will know that I'm on a quest for the best baba ganoush in Denver. So while my honey was partying this evening I picked up some to-go-ganoush at the Tuti Grill down on South Holly just past Evans. Had its high and low points. The baba ganoush was lemony and well finished with olive oiled. I'd give it a four out of five ganoush stars. The kebabs were well seasoned and tasty, but were made of ground and formed kebab pieces and not cubed fresh cut chunks of lamb. The pita tasted fine but store-bought (though I might be wrong about that). Fairly priced and a good amount of food I'll have enough left over for lunch tomorrow. The lady running the place is amazing and hooked me up with a discount when I arrived. You can tell she cares greatly about both her food and customers. She was very sweet and charming. I really like the hummus and consider it among the best in Denver. I have had it every time I visit and it is consistently flavorful. The grape leaves are also very flavorful and I was happy with the quantity per order and price. I also tried the gyro plate and gyro wrap (on separate occasions). Overall the gyro is consistent and flavorful but a bit dry and not the best in town like the hummus and grape leaves. The amount of meat on the gyro plate is lacking for the price and I would prefer less rice and more gyro. Side salad was good though. If you are looking for gyro and care less about the sides I would just go with the gyro sandwich because it is half the price and similar quantity of meat. Overall I would come here for their hummus, grape leaves, and service (all of which were amazing!!) but I would go elsewhere for gyro. I will be back very soon to try some other dishes. read more

Ended up in Denver due to winter storm. Searched on Google for halal options, and tuti grill had the highest reviews. We are glad we tried this Sudanese restaurant. The host was welcoming and courteous. Best part was the food. We had lentil soup,lamb kabsa, mixed grill, mint lemonade, and chicken shwarma sandwich. Everything was fresh and delicious. We need more restaurants like this where they serve such fresh food and pay attention to every small detail. Forgot to mention, their dessert basbusa was out of this world! Maybe it was an off night, maybe it's me Upon arrival on Friday night the place had 2 tables that were occupied, the menus was greasy and the service was mediocre, The most bizarre thing was the kitchen staff came out to the corner of the restaurant where it's blocked off my a curtain (short enough to see things) and began praying. My husband got the lamb Kabsa and I couldn't stop picking at the his plate too! You can taste the love they put into every dish with every bite you take. My party of 7 got a table right away, and we got suggestions from our super knowledgeable and kind waitress. 4.5 stars - this is a great find! It doesn't look like much, in a nondescript strip mall, but you should make sure to seek it out anyway. There's a great menu of middle eastern food, with a nice bonus of a few East African items as well thanks to the owner's heritage. Our group of four managed to try several things and all were excellent, with the only minus being the fattiness of the lamb shank, but that's probably to be expected given the cut of the meat. The coffee at the end of the meal was outstanding. The staff were all very friendly and wanted to make sure we ordered exactly the thing we wanted, and they answered questions and steered us to the item that would fit best. Everything was fresh and very flavorful, and the whole experience was just great. Usually I wait to review a place until after I've been there a few times to make sure it's consistently good, but we all were very happy so I figured I should review it right away and get some more people aware of this place. They said they have been there for two years, but I'm betting a lot of people don't know about it yet. Hopefully that changes soon, because I want them to succeed! read more
