A good choice for lunch I stopped in yesterday for lunch right around noon. I ordered and enjoyed their regular sized Jersey Shore's Favorite (#2), Mike's way. It was fresh with lots of meat, with that oiliness that makes an excellent Italian style sub. The Jersey Shore has a good taste in sandwiches. My sandwich makers did a fine job while even engaging in some small talk, giving the visit a more personal feel. The menu board made it easy to see all the sandwiches they offer, and hard to decide between so many that sounded so good. It also had all the prices blacked out, which was not so good. I did overhear someone else asking about that and learned they had just raised prices and were waiting on new menus. Hope that doesn't take too long. I tried to pay attention to some areas of concern in other reviews. Staffing was excellent. As they got busier, they had 4 people on the line that kept things moving, which kept the line reasonably short. Some tables were clean, a few could have used a wipe off. I also paid attention to the use of plastic gloves. While there were 4 people, one was dedicated to the register, so there was no handling food and taking money by the same person at all. Only once did I see someone use the register with gloves, and go back to food without changing their gloves, but didn't actually handle any money. Very few people paid in cash, like me they just bring out the card. Is just poking a few buttons on a screen a reason to change gloves? I don't think so, but I'll leave others to their own opinion. read more

Went to the one on Bahia Vista and 41 Saturday they were not busy ,ordered 2 giant cheese steak subs with onion provolone cheese and sweet peppers worst subs I ever had there ,The lady that made them did a terrible job ,Don,t understand they weren't busy should have been good won,t go there again they filled them with mostly onions and peppers ,too many 2 ladies were working there read more

Sandwiches are good and service is friendly. Place is somewhat clean, although tables need to be wiped down in between guest. I observed several guest leave tables and no one wiped them. The worst part of my visit is this loud, calypso island mumbled music loudly playing in the shop. Totally disruptive if trying to peacefully enjoy lunch. Not happening. Take it to go. Stopped here for lunch. Ordered the "original Italian". It was really good. Originally from NY so it def made me feel like home biting into this sandwhich. They make it right in front of you so it was nice telling them how many toppings I wanted on the sandwich. The place was pretty clean. Def needs to have someone clean off tables between customers. I've mentioned before I grew up in Philadelphia, a place where a good Hoagie (Sub) is on damn near every corner. Probably ate a Lee's Hoagie once a week or so and a stop in Atlantic City wouldn't be worthwhile without a White House Sub. Many years living in Washington DC proved to be a vast Hoagie wasteland. Never found a good one in the 20+ years we lived there and the situation wasn't much better here in Sarasota. Jersey Mike's to the rescue. A Philadelphia / South Jersey Hoagie ain't happen'in here, but for a chain of franchised stores (based in Central / Northern New Jersey) they really do produce a very good sub. Considering they have over 400 stores nationwide it's really interesting they have NONE in or around Philadelphia. Smart! This is not a Subway sub....they are twice the size, twice the meat, and more than twice the price, along with much better quality. The bread is fresh and meats are cut to order. Their cold subs are what you'd expect; two offerings of Italian subs "Jersey Shore Favorite" and the "Original Italian" along with a Tuna and Veggie. Further you can select Ham, Turkey or Roast Beef with Provolone. All their cold subs are offered Mike's Way with Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Vinegar, Oil and Spices. You can customize them any way you want. My choice is the Original Italian done Mike's way with extra onions, peppers on the side! They offer a couple of Hot Subs/Cheesesteaks. Our choice is "Mike's Famous Philly", available with steak or for you non-traditionalists chicken, which includes grilled peppers and onions. The addition of ketchup (once home) makes this Cheesesteak delicious and filling. They also have chicken parmesan, meatball & cheese and a Pastrami Reuben. All subs are offered as a giant or a half sub called a regular. Further their menu offers both wraps and salads. When you're into the low carb thing go for a "Sub in a Tub". I wouldn't hesitate to try any of them as their food is always consistently good. Stores have a few seats but really are carry-outs. I love jersey mikes! The meat is freshly cut and always good. Unlike pepackaged subway... They can be a little slow... but they are nice people and it 'usually' can be worth the wait. I've been coming here for years. Today I realized how much they deserve a great review, and I dont even give reviews. This is my first Yelp review ever. That's how awesome they are. I placed a phone order today and sometimes I feel like I'm annoying with my extra specifications like "no onions", "no ice", and oil and vinegar on the side. But not with Jersey Mike's. They value my preferences with genuine compassion and I am taken away by their warmth!!!! It's not just a food order, it's an exchange of wonderful positive energy with wonderful employees. Yeah.... tried to get a sandwich here today, but to no avail . Register guy must be new, wearing gloves and ringing up and wrapping without changing gloves and saw him rub his face with gloves on and go back to handling the food. Grill lady and other employee were totally overwhelmed. Six people in line and plenty of empty tables. Felt really bad for all of them. I'll come back another time to see if they learned proper sanitation. I love their sandwiches but can see that the owner/manager needs to use these events as teachable moments. read more

It's trivial but I feel like there should be a standard food service list that everyone should follow. Employees are supposed to spray the chemicals on a towel or rag not directly on a window or table . Spraying the guard glass is disturbing. The sub was 5 star. I ordered The Italian sub done Mikes way. Easily the best tasting sub around. The 2 guys behind the counter were in a good mood & happily chit chatted and said thank you for your order. I asked for a packet of salt & the young man said "I apologize for not having that for you." Then again he thanked me for coming to Jersey Mikes. We dined inside. Reason why no 5 star? The food deserves the 5 but our table had an empty napkin dispenser & as I looked around at other tables to see where I can get a napkins I could see that the floors needed swept of Bacon & salad bits. Best quick sandwich shop in the area. Hands down beats the competition in the category, think other chain sandwich shops. Hot and cold subs made to order in front of you. Meat and cheese are sliced right off the loafs while you watch. For cold subs I highly recommend "Mikes Way," and don't forget their red chili sauce, it adds a great zing. They'll also make any cold sub into a wrap to save some carbs. For hot subs don't pass up their cheese steaks, freshly made on their flat top, now available in chicken as well as steak for a bit less guilty of a pleasure. Sandwich- good. Service - good. Restroom - GROSS and DISGUSTING Most public restrooms in Ethiopia are cleaner than this, and that's just a hole in the ground. There was a cruddy yellow ring at the water line of the toilet, as well as being generally coated in grime inside and out. The sink was too filthy to use. Usually a restaurant's restrooms are an indication of how clean they keep the kitchen as well. According to Yelp data, they were not inspected by the Health Dept in 2017. Last inspection was in October 2016. They should definitely establish a cleaning process and practice similar to the developed world. read more

I could SUE THE LIVING SHIT OUT OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Never ever work here. I worked here once for a horrid 2 months. I was 16 at the time and the manager was verbally abusive towards me, yelling at me in front of customers, he would also try to time me to clean the lobby in less than 3 minutes, he would never give breaks and when we would get "breaks" it'd b because he wanted us to clock out because labor was to high. It was just beyond a fucking mess. He was literally treating his employees like slaves, he acted like he was Gordon Ramsay and his employees where his peasants. His name was David. Also a 30+ year old guy named Joe peer pressured me into doing ketamine with him and on god I started overdosing or some shit I was throwing up a lot, y'all should really check ur camera footage when ur employees are working and keep track of yo shit. The worst place I've ever worked, OF ALL TIME, and I've worked in quite a few fast food chains so that's saying something. This is probably my favorite sandwich place in the area. Love the fresh cappicola and speedy service. Even their smallest portion is a good size. The largest size is pretty expensive for a sub but it is also big enough to feed a couple of lineman. Staff are always nice. read more

I have been to this store many times Friday night was the worst coming from brownie meeting in North Port we were starving and called this store for a to go order from 75 we were told 10 minutes when we walked in 20 minutes later we were told that we would have to wait longer as they hadn't even been started yet we decided not to wait as we left Patti made a remark about us having called only 5 minutes ago to another customer being hangry I walked back in to ask if I had heard correctly I had showed her my phone and that it had been over 20 minutes and left she made another remark to the customer about me again I went in and asked for her name left and heard another comment as I walked out for the last time.
