Liked it We stopped in for lunch today. Seems like I always get Parma Hash at First Watch restaurants, once I find something I like at a restaurant I stick with it. That's just what I do, except today I didn't. Today I got something different, their Ham & Gruyere Melt. That came with a side, and French fries wasn't one of the choices (shocking - lol). I like First Watch, not quite like everyone else. The side choices were organic mixed greens or a bowl of hot soup. My wife told me to go with their popular Butternut Squash Bisque. The bisque was very good with a pleasant flavor and a nice creamy texture, and there was enough to share with my wife. She liked it too. My sandwich was also good. While I thought the cheese was understated there was plenty of thin sliced ham between the buttery grilled brioche. It all made for a very nice meal. First time at this location. Tiny and I came in for late lunch after visiting our chiropractor. Ordered my usual trifecta with 3 poached eggs, million dollar bacon and waffles for the cutie pie. I ordered a potato hash with egg, chorizo, avocado, cheese, etc. I can't remember the name of the dish but it was pretty good! Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs were not cooked all the way and I had to send it back. It did take a bit to get the replacement dish out - good thing I ordered a chocolate chip pancake to satisfy my sweet tooth. :) I wasn't at all disappointed to wait for the replacement as it came out piping hot and made the way I wanted. Thank goodness I accidentally read the reviews on the Bradenton location even though we were dining at this Sarasota location bc Andrea S. had a very helpful review on that location which recommended down loading the First Watch App to get in line for seating via the app!!! I took her advice and put our name in for party of 4. Saturday morning, line out the door and that line took over the patio. The app was so easy and said we would have a 20 to 30 min wait time. We were 15 minutes away plus parking which put us at the perfect time for arrival. The app communicated with me that I needed to check in upon arrival, next it informed me we were next to be seated and to check again with the hostess and within 5 total minutes we by passed that long line and were seated at a great table. So impressed! After all I my Husband and Brother in law are not very patient so this was more than ideal. So many great choices on the menu. I really wanted the smoked salmon, however...no cream cheese?? How is that? Hmm...disappointed but my back up choice was so delicious that I quickly forgot about the salmon. I had the trifecta which had a few choices...I picked scrambled eggs, turkey sausage and Belgium waffle. Sooo good and filling. Gotta love that a nice size pot of hot coffee is placed on the table and flavored creamers too. I was a very happy camper.
