The food was so good! I got the stuffed croissant with ham, brie cheese and fig jam. I would like to try more dishes here.

Stopped here for lunch before dropping my friend off at the airport. Beautiful little place - well decorated. Menu is great! Small but plenty of options (if that makes sense). I had the traditional eggs benedict with fresh fruit on the side. My friend had a burger. Both were delicious! Service was great as well. They also have a bar. I'll definitely make this our stop on the way to SRQ airport :)

Sunnyside Cafe is easy to miss as it is along a busy road jammed in among hotels and industrial businesses. I came in at lunch time around 1:00 and there were no tables as it is pretty small on the inside. This was on a random Wednesday and so I would say probably be prepared to wait. I was able to sit at one of the spots that was left at the bar. Interior is nice. Staff (especially the one server) seemed overwhelmed. She was very friendly nonetheless. Only appeared to be two other people working: a single cook and a woman bussing tables. I liked the lobster roll that I got. Fresh if a bit under-seasoned. Needed a bit more salt and/or a side of fries. With tip I paid $28 which is another reason I wish it had fries. Definitely a bit overpriced. Bring cash as there is a cash discount.

I came here for lunch on a recent trip to Florida. It was the first restaurant that I tried while I was there after getting off the airport. I ordered the soup of the day, the Hungarian Potato Soup and a Lobster roll. Both were very good and very tasty. The soup was very hearty. I would definitely order it again. I also tried the arugula salad, which was pretty good. The place itself is very low key in terms of decor and overall set up. It is a breakfast and lunch spot only, which is fairly common in the area apparently. The service in terms of how quickly our orders were standard for the area and the ambiance was okay as well.

We stopped in here for breakfast with the dogs before heading to the beach because they are pet friendly on the patio out front. It is a little weird to get to though- it's right next to a hotel and an apartment office and you have to walk past the office along the side of the building to get to the restaurant. They have a cute trellis and lots of plants/flowers to look at, so it's a quaint little spot. Our server was really sweet and brought out coffee and mimosas really fast and then gave us time to sip and look over the menu. We had wanted to order a side of meat for the dogs to share and decided on sausage (thinking it was just plain) because they had bacon the day before. She asked if we wanted it for the dogs and told us it was very spicy and she wouldn't recommend it for them, which was very helpful and we got the bacon instead. We split a bowl of fruit and then each ordered a savory dish. My husband got the sunnyside breakfast croissant and it was HUGE. I got the frijoles salsa eggs benedict. We were both really happy with our breakfast. Super cute spot to sit outside in the shade and fuel up before spending the day outside.

This was such a breath of fresh air. We had a rough night with barely any sleep and stopped in for a pick me up before visiting ringling. So happy we did. The waitress was the best, the coffee was phenomenal (not watered down, full of flavor, def authentic European) food was ON POINT! Steak and chicken were juicy, perfectly cooked. Cute interior. Definitely stop in, you won't regret it!

2 egg breakfast. I added a 3 rd egg. The fruit was so good... very fresh.

The moment you enter, you are embraced by a cascade of twinkling fairy lights that shimmer like stardust against a twilight sky. Fresh flowers bloom in every corner, their sweet fragrance mingling with the comforting aroma of steeping tea and freshly baked cakes. The menu is a delightful symphony of flavors, with each dish crafted as if by fairy hands. The tea sandwiches are dainty yet satisfying, their ingredients so fresh they seem to have been gathered from a mystical garden just moments before. The salads are vibrant and bursting with life, each leaf and garnish adding to the overall tapestry of flavors. And, of course, the cakes! The cakes are tiny works of art, each bite a burst of sweetness that leaves you floating on clouds of pure bliss. Even the soups, served in charming little teacups, are more than just a meal--they are comfort and warmth, a gentle embrace on a slow afternoon. Kathryn is the heart and soul of this fairy-tale haven, a living embodiment of the kindness and beauty that fills every corner of her restaurant. Her presence is like a gentle breeze, warm and soothing, making everyone who walks through the door feel instantly at home. Her generosity is evident not just in the thoughtful touches that make each visit special--like the fresh flowers that greet you at every table or the extra care taken to ensure each dish is perfect--but in the way she treats each guest like an old friend. There's a sweetness in her smile that makes you feel as though you've known her for years, and a gentle warmth in her words that wraps around you like a comforting blanket. She moves with a quiet grace, always attentive, yet never intrusive. Whether she's offering a kind word, making sure your tea is just right, or sharing a delightful story, she does so with a lightness that leaves you feeling cherished and cared for. It's clear that this restaurant is more than just a business to her--it's a labor of love, a place where she pours her heart into every detail. In a world that often feels rushed and impersonal, the owner's presence is a reminder of the beauty of kindness and the power of a generous spirit. She has created not just a restaurant, but a sanctuary--a place where time slows down, and you can savor not just the food, but the warmth of human connection. To dine here is to be touched by her sweetness, and to leave with your heart a little fuller, your day a little brighter. Walking by the…read morebuilding you are greeted by a gorgeous mural of a cat just giving you a small taste of what's inside. I really loved the theming inside the Cafe, pink is one of my favorite colors and I felt like they used the cafe space pretty well. They offer a variety of baked goods including different flavors of baklava and spinach pie. The menu also includes some fun drinks including coffee, tea and cocktails along with sorbet and gelato! We ended up trying their hot Mocha and the siamese mocktail which was ginger ale, mango, almond, vanilla and agave. We also treated ourselves to a piece of the chocolate baklava which was phenomenal, definitely give that treat a try it was a good balance of depth from the cocoa and sweetness (not pictured because we practically inhaled it). The coffee was really yummy, I did find the mocktail delicious but very sweet with my initial sips even after stirring (prior to letting the ice melt) being very syrupy (I wonder if there is a way to make it less sweet or to ask for maybe half pumps of syrups or to swap ginger ale for sparkling water), other than that the flavor combo was good just very sugary. We did purchase a day pass to play with cats which are held in a separate area visible from the cafe. I found the price of $20 for unlimited time during your stay to be pretty fair. The cats were all pretty sleepy during our visit and we anticipated a bit more cats to be present and about, (however this may be a good thing), despite this we were able to make a good time petting the cats in their perch and playing with them with the vast amount of toys available. The inside of the cat area was a bit sparse in terms of places to sit with the cats and comfy areas to lounge with them for play so that made staying an extended time a little uncomfy, we broke up our time by playing with the cats, enjoying the cafe and then playing with the cats again. Luckily re-entry was allowed in this case. We went on a Monday afternoon, so this may be due to the timing in the day but if you are expecting a place with many playful cats this may not be the place. Especially if multiple people are present you may be having to vie for attention from a few cats. However, if you are willing to move around and make your own fun and are okay with seeing cats acting in a way that is more consistent with how they would be in a normal home environment than you would have a great time, this environment is truly perfect for those looking to adopt for that reason! I appreciate the mission of Katys Cat cafe and glad I could support.

When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.
