Stopped into The Breakfast House after a morning at the beach. It is a cute little bungalow with Florida charm. When you step inside you see colorful chairs and about 10 tables. It may not be big in size but it is big in flavor. Our waitress was super friendly and did not hesitate to share her menu favorites. I ordered a large glass of fresh squeezed orange juice and Uncle Harry's Hearty Breakfast with scrambled eggs, pancakes, bacon, grits, potatoes and sausage. Absolutely recommend. And if there is a wait... it's worth it!!

    Blueberry pancakes- excellent

Another one of those venues you always pass and see a line waiting to enter; Today, we decided to try the breakfast house on Fruitville Road. I read about the pancakes with real maple syrup. When we go North, we are in the White Mountains of NH and I know real maple syrup. I have a favorite breakfast venue with award winning syrup so I tried their blueberry pancakes- wow! Loved the texture and real maple syrup. My wife had the Greek omelette and loved her breakfast. Service was great- our server made sure our coffee cups were full and we had everything we desired. Will definitely return and understand why people flock here. They are about to move further towards I75 so fingers crossed, the formula does not change. Private parking lot. When you arrive, you wait outside on the porch for the hostess to invite you in and be seated.

So good! We found this place online and were excited to try it. Its a cute restaurant thats decorated with knickknacks and unique furniture. We were seated outside which has plenty of shade. The server was super kind and provided great recommendations. I ordered the pesto eggs benedict, OJ, and french toast. All was delicous. Will come back when im in the area!

    Everyone's breakfast was delicious!

We are huge fans! we always bring guests and go often just the 2 of us. We have ordered so many things over the years, and honestly everything from food to service to ambiance is incredible! A Sarasota Gem!!

Exact breakfast I was looking for. My wife and I took her parents and niece here while they were in town for the holidays. The place was pretty busy, but that was to be expected. Definitely make reservations ahead of time if you are planning to come by for the holidays. We were sat in the back area with multiple groups pretty close, but not uncomfortably so. When we were seated the server asked if our niece would like a child menu (colorable) along with some crayons for coloring. Very nice to see that some places still go out of their way to make children a bit more comfortable. I ended up ordering their lemon lavender stuffed blueberry pancakes, with a side of eggs and bacon, and my wife ordered a custom omelette. My niece ordered chocolate pancakes. We all loved our food and would definitely come back again!

Thanks to some great Yelp reviews, I found this breakfast spot in Sarasota. This restaurant which is a former house, is decorated with a beach theme and is very cool! We dined inside on this hot morning, but the outside dining area looked great on a cooler day. Our server was excellent and the owner made sure to say hello. I started off with a Bloody Mary, then had the skillet special which was delicious! Other entrees we had included an omelette and pancakes. It was a fun breakfast with my wife and in-laws! If you're looking for a great breakfast spot in Sarasota, I definitely recommend The Breakfast House!

The quirky, kitschy atmosphere is packed with personality--plastic flamingos roosting on planter displays, colorful stained-glass fish hanging from the fence, and seashells crunching underfoot. Tiki umbrellas scattered around the outdoor dining area gives it a tropical, Trader Joe's-meets-beach-shack feel, with 80s hits and country tunes playing overhead. The small yellow house holds a few indoor seats, but we opted for the breezy patio, where fans kept the air moving. We went with the blueberry pancakes instead of the island version (filled with coconut and roasted pineapple) since blueberries are in season. They were good, forgettable--about a 3.5 out of 5. They don't serve lattes, so I had black tea with milk, which was a bit of a let down for me personally. My husband had coffee, and they were generous with refills, which was a nice touch. For his meal, he ordered an egg sandwich on a croissant with cheddar cheese (vegetarian-friendly). Nothing remarkable, but it was warm, quick, and again about a 3.5 out of 5. Service was super efficient but a bit brusque BUT understandable since the server was clearly juggling a lot. Free parking is just steps from the entrance. For $35.50 for our meal without tip., not too expensive. Overall, come here if you want quick, easy, kid-friendly, and predictable fare in a fun, beachy setting.

What a cool place! I loved all the vibrant colors, and funky vibe. I don't think I have ever seen so many friendly employees in one place in my life! Hands down killer customer service and their food was bomb too! We could not decide on one meal each so we threw in a few extras! I loved my croissant sandwich, my daughter loved her create your own omelet and she doesn't even like eggs... lol, my husband also loved his omelet. The holiday peppermint pancakes were also a hit. I also really loved the crème brûlée stuffed French toast. If I had read the description I would not have ordered them, so I am glad I did not. I think a different name might be better since they were stuffed with cream cheese a berry compote. I was picturing cream brûlée filling, but apparently that's just how the French toast is made. But hey they were delish! I am so glad we stayed an extra day while staying in the area, so we could try this place!

This is a cute breakfast house! Very Florida! I love watching the owner be very hands on. The food was delicious. It was very big! I got the stuffed crème brulee French toast. Honestly, could have done the normal one because this one was overcome with berries. But other than that, it was delicious. The service is fast and this is a great local spot to support!

So we walked to this place it was about a mile from the hotel. All I can say is don't pass this one up. It gets very busy after it's been open for about an hour. We went on a Sunday and we arrived just as they were opening the doors and there were already people out back and inside. It was a little chilly for Sarasota so we opted to set inside. The food is just as good as it looks. There's nothing bad that I can say about this place. We did make a note when we left that there were still a few tables outside but I believe the inside was completely taken and that there was a line waiting to sit inside. I would highly recommend sitting outside. If we had arrived when the people were standing in line we would have sat outside.

We drive past the breakfast house every time that we drive downtown and have always been curious to try it. We decided to take my family here for a breakfast outing this past weekend and were very happy with our meals. We tried a variety of the omelettes and pancakes and really enjoyed our food, but we all noted that the serving sizes were small. Additionally, one of us got the ricotta pancakes, which came with three pancakes, while another person got the banana pancakes, which only came with one pancake, and we felt like the menu should have clarified the different portion sizes despite similar price. After we left, I looked back at the menu photo I took for my review and noted it says 3 pancakes so either we got underserved or the menu needs updating. Other than that miscommunication, I will still be back as it's a cute little spot with good food.

    Part of the hearty breakfast!

Wow! Just wow! From the sweet greeting we got, the great service and the food everything was fantastic! My partner who loves a good hash, had nothing but good thing to say about theirs! The potatoes tasted like they were cooked on an open flame (a very surprising and pleasant change from the usual), the grits were creamy and smooth and did not need anything else added to them (I'm a Cheesy grits girl, so that says a lot). The bacon was cooked perfectly! Now the pancakes! We only got mini ones with our hearty breakfast, but they were spectacular. Fluffy and light but they also had a little crunch to them which made them perfect on my book! They were also served with REAL maple syrup (which coming from Maine, we recognize). Lastly, the ambiance of this restaurant. The outside patio in the back is nicely covered and beautiful. The inside is bright and welcoming! You feel like you have stepped into your best friend's home who is the most loving person you have met. Also the little sign next to the bathroom in the ladies room brought a smile to my face. The owner(s) truly care and I would come back over and over again.

Ask the Community - The Breakfast House

    Is 10 too many people?

In my opinion, inside - it may - unless they exclusivize inside for just your group. Outside may be another story, and this would be a great time of the year (weather wise) to accommodate such request.

    Is there a full bar?

    No.

I had the most delicious breakfast. Everything on my plate was perfectly prepared. I had the traditional breakfast which was 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes (or side salad) and toast. I swapped the toast for a croissant and had the eggs scrambled with Swiss. The eggs were out of this world....super light and fluffy. The potatoes were crispy outside, soft inside and the bacon on the crisp side, but not too much. The way i prefer. The while meal was absolute perfection. I live Sarasota and go every year so I would certainly go back. The assortment of pastries and quiches looked amazing. If we didn't have a 3.5 hour drive ahead I would have brought an assortment back. Our waiter, Bryan, was lovely. He was very personable and our order was brought out exactly as ordered. My son had a veggie burger on a roll with lettuce and a yellow tomato slice with a side of fries. He enjoyed it very much and actually said he was full (he is never full). The cafe is open 7-2 for breakfast and brunch and it is adorable. Nice assortment of coffee and tea as well. Make a point of stopping in if you're in the area. You will not regret it

Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. I also got a palmier pastry and I should have gotten a croissant, the palmier tasted a little stale. The locale was adorable, with beautifully tiles tables really setting the scene.
