We had a toddler with us and they provided like a small toy container so he can play. The menu is pretty large, definitely a lot of dishes to choose from. I had egg Benedict with turkey bacon- Florentine. It was pretty good. My husband had Harry's hearty breakfast. It was very tasty, definitely recommend. What a delightful little place! We arrived around 8:30 a.m. and although it was already a bit busy, we were seated right away. We chose a table on their adorable back patio, which was shaded with umbrellas and kept comfortable with fans throughout the area. Stopped into The Breakfast House after a morning at the beach. It is a cute little bungalow with Florida charm. When you step inside you see colorful chairs and about 10 tables. It may not be big in size but it is big in flavor. Our waitress was super friendly and did not hesitate to share her menu favorites. Another one of those venues you always pass and see a line waiting to enter; Today, we decided to try the breakfast house on Fruitville Road. I read about the pancakes with real maple syrup. When we go North, we are in the White Mountains of NH and I know real maple syrup. I have a favorite breakfast venue with award winning syrup so I tried their blueberry pancakes- wow! Loved the texture and real maple syrup. My wife had the Greek omelette and loved her breakfast. Service was great- our server made sure our coffee cups were full and we had everything we desired. Fun to order soup and 1/2 sandwich., which most of us chose. Service was friendly but not sure how much was the fact that we went with local regulars. I simply cannot understand why anybody goes to this place. The food is extremely bland, it's insanely busy and it takes forever to get a table, the portions are tiny, and they don't allow any substitutions whatsoever unless you pay a very high premium. Then when you do get your substitution, it's a child's size portion. The server who helped us was extremely rude, rolled her eyes with every single question, or even I f we asked for water. Because of her completely unfriendly and aggressive mannerisms, my brother did not tip her well. However, I still did tip well just to make up for his lack of tip, even though in hindsight, I shouldn't have. I kid you not, the waitress screamed at us and chased us into the parking lot!! and apparently this is not the only time that this has happened. Based on several reviews on here and Google, this woman continues to harass people! Nobody cares, nobody corrects her. I would never ever ever ever again go to this unsavory restaurant. We were in Sarasota for 3 days with our whole family and we liked it so much we ended up eating breakfast here every day! The food was great, they had a nice variety of options, and the pancakes were soooo delicious. We tried the lavender blueberry, banana nut, and the coconut white nut. All were amazing but the coconut white nut was definitely everyone's favorite. Just get some pancakes for the table, you won't regret it! The service was also wonderful! Our server Flip was so attentive and handled our large party so well! There is also a woman there I did not catch the name of but she seems to be the owner and she was so sweet. When we were seated the server asked if our niece would like a child menu (colorable) along with some crayons for coloring. Thanks to some great Yelp reviews, I found this breakfast spot in Sarasota. This restaurant which is a former house, is decorated with a beach theme and is very cool! We dined inside on this hot morning, but the outside dining area looked great on a cooler day. Our server was excellent and the owner made sure to say hello. What a cool place! I loved all the vibrant colors, and funky vibe. I don't think I have ever seen so many friendly employees in one place in my life! Hands down killer customer service and their food was bomb too! We could not decide on one meal each so we threw in a few extras! So we walked to this place it was about a mile from the hotel. All I can say is don't pass this one up. It gets very busy after it's been open for about an hour. We went on a Sunday and we arrived just as they were opening the doors and there were already people out back and inside. It was a little chilly for Sarasota so we opted to set inside. The food is just as good as it looks. There's nothing bad that I can say about this place. We did make a note when we left that there were still a few tables outside but I believe the inside was completely taken and that there was a line waiting to sit inside. We decided to take my family here for a breakfast outing this past weekend and were very happy with our meals. We tried a variety of the omelettes and pancakes and really enjoyed our food, but we all noted that the serving sizes were small. Additionally, one of us got the ricotta pancakes, which came with three pancakes, while another person got the banana pancakes, which only came with one pancake, and we felt like the menu should have clarified the different portion sizes despite similar price. After we left, I looked back at the menu photo I took for my review and noted it says 3 pancakes so either we got underserved or the menu needs updating. Fluffy and light but they also had a little crunch to them which made them perfect on my book! They were also served with REAL maple syrup (which coming from Maine, we recognize). I've been here several times and what's weird, it seems like the help (waiter and bus) are ex-cons. The way they walk around with out a smile and their conduct is very odd. We finally got here for their renowned breakfast. Weekday visit. We parked in back among the myriad of small businesses and were seated promptly outside in a cozy spot in the shade. There is/was seating available inside on this Thursday morning but it's easy to see why there are lines on the weekends. Hostess CHASE US DOWN FOR A TIP !! I will say this place has a nice anesthetic and the food was alright but my sever attitude was not at all pretty. From the no introduction, to rushing of drink and meal orders, and slamming down a tray of syrup with no warning it was just horrible. I decided not to leave of tip, instead a donation because the restaurant was forced relocate. Me and my party were in MY CAR when the hostess came out to confront us about not tipping, I had never had such rude display from a server before I was in shock !!!
