The food completely delivers too--the patty melt was out of this world. Perfectly crisp bread, super fresh, and packed with flavor. The home fries were a standout as well... they tasted just like something my mom or grandma would make--lightly pan-fried with garlic and seasoning, simple and perfect. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon--and she never eats bacon--but said it was delicious and ended up finishing all of it, which says everything. Came here for Sunday brunch with a toddler. And we absolutely loved it! What a nice surprise! Place is absolutely gorgeous inside, with small little touches. Service was very friendly and attentive. Toddler got Mickey Mouse waffles that he loved. I got salmon crostini which were huge and delicious and my husband had breakfast plate which was great. Going with the French mode this weekend, I decided to venture out and try this breakfast and lunch spot. Located in Gulf Gate on a busy strip, there is plenty of parking and pedestrian friendly access. It basically is 2 storefronts and they have creatively made the entrance a welcoming sturdy door. Plenty of sunlight for dining and space between tables plus a nice 4 seater counter and another 2-seater counter area. Since I was dining by myself, I went with the counter. Comfortable seating and ample counter space between diners. My only regret is there are no hooks under the counter for handbag. The menu offers standard breakfast options plus crepes, quiche, salads and sandwiches. Various drink options too. After reading so many reviews on the Bacon Eggs Benedict, I went with that one and the home fries. There are plenty of pics on this dish already posted, so after waiting over 20 minutes for my one dish, I was too hungry to take a picture, sorry. I have to say, I wasn't impressed. The hollandaise sauce was light, but the English muffin was under toasted and the home fries were burned black on one side that made only a couple of home fries edible. The house brew is okay, but it was hard to get my server's attention to refill my cup. There are plenty of servers on the floor and most seemed friendly. Mine seemed a bit distracted and not overly attentive. She only came by at the end after another server brought my bill. There are some bakery croissants that looked great. Restroom is clean. Breakfast Bowl - a healthy serving of a nice variety of fresh fruit over a not too sweet coconut chia pudding. Delish! The granola and strawberry syrup were perfect to adjust the sweetness levels. The avo toast using guacamole was such a smart tasty idea - great seasoning and not too salty. A great healthy fresh plate. 5 stars! French Toast Special - lots of fresh pineapple with a tasty coconut cream syrup. The lime zest was a nice touch adding more complexity of flavor. 4 stars. Kids Breakfast Combo - subbed the blueberry pancakes for the Mickey waffles. Ah-maaazing blueberry pancakes!!! Blueberries inside and out including a blueberry compote syrup. I cannot begin to say enough good things about this restaurant and staff! The servers were so attentive and kind, the atmosphere quaint with an old-timey diner feel, but the menu - decadent! The pancakes were an inch thick and beautifully presented, the crepes delectable and the GF/DF egg tacos a work of art. It is so hard to find a restaurant that is exciting for both our regular eaters as well as me with all my dietary restrictions, but Lovely Square nailed it! First time at Lovely Square in Gulf Gate. I think it's the best breakfast I've had in sarasota thus far. Every bite was delicious. I did the bacon eggs Benedict and my hubby got the lox eggs Benedict both of us got their home fries. The home fries were amazing and so was every bite of the Benedict the homemade hollandaise sauce was so good it made me want more. The espresso was perfectly made. This place also serves lunch. Stopped here for breakfast in Gulf Gate. Cozy restaurant with 2 rooms with tables and a small 2 seater counter. Croissants and pastry case in the front with yummy choices. Good menu with a variety of choices. We had the breakfast combo which was simply eggs, toast,sausage or bacon, and a choice of side. The sides included a chocolate croissant which was very good. I'm so angry with Lovely Square. First they stopped making my favorite power salad. Ok a business. decision, I guess, and one as a customer had no say in. I understand yet I was DISAPPOINTED. Several months ago I called to place a take order to get a recording indicating the no longer take orders by phone. What? You'd rather have your customer come there place the order and then wait? VERY DISAPPOINTING. I drive there (20mins) to order lunch. I'm informed they no longer do take out on the weekend. What? If I wanted a salad, I guess as a favor, she could do it but it would take 1 hour. WHAT? A salad?They didn't seem that busy. I'm no longer just disappointed I'm ANGRY. The absolute GOAT for avocado toast!!! It's literally love in your mouth all for $13.50. This beats out all of the fancy Los Angeles spots, and anywhere else I've ever tried avocado toast. Pretty amazing. We had the sweet and salty dish - eggs, pork product and french toast. Over easy, sausage and bread pudding french toast. Eggs were perfect. Sausage was thick and flavorful. The bread pudding French toast was luscious and the most interesting and possible best french toast I've eaten. The exterior was crispy and the interior was soft, luscious and flavorful. The salsa/hot sauce was sweet at the beginning but finished with a nice kick but not too hot - flavorful, not just burning. The classic eggs Benedict was what I was looking for! House-made hollandaise sauce - a little more on the lemony side in a more traditional French style than I've typically seen around here - it lightened up the dish and really took it up a level. The balsamic vinaigrette drizzle added another layer to it as well. The fruit cup had a nice mixture of fruits and they didn't seem to have been premixed and soaking together so all the fruit tasted like it was supposed to instead of a pile of Mellon or watermelon... Very cute inside, love the cafe feeling. I ordered the raspberry tea, but it wasn't super sweet or strong.. Kinda wish it was a bit stronger as it was really light in color. However; the huevos rancheros were super delicious!! I will say I was always under the impression that they came with tostadas or something crunchy to eat with, nonetheless it was really great. The Lovely Square is owned by a delightful couple who hail from France. They serve breakfast and lunch in an adorable little setting. They have fresh pastries in a case up front as well as a fresh pressed house juice as well as freshly squeezed orange juice and a medley of teas. I almost always get a savory (buckwheat) crepe from here and get a side of their rancheros black beans. The crepes are just so delicate and the flavors are so delectable. I love that they have a choice of sides with your entree. Every meal my Family has had here has been excellent. My mini absolutely adores the pancakes here. We just started researching good brunch restaurants, and Lovely Square located in the Old Florida " Gulf Gate/ Gateway" neighborhood that I love, had marvelous reviews. These were 100% spot on, and Lovely Square is by far the very best of the four others we've tried. The young couple owners painstakingly renovated the space two years ago with fresh clean soft pleasing colors, and put a great deal of careful thought in their innovative and delicious menu. Fresh vegetable or egg/ bacon/ cheese variations of wonderful breakfast crepes (5 varieties) come accompanied by either a cup of their home made soups of (genuine) French onion/carrot-ginger-spinach/or today's special of bacon corn chowder or their perfectly seasoned wonderous thin sliced browned potatoes OR a cup of beautiful fresh fruit. The chef uses truly beautiful fresh vegetables and perfectly ripened fruit! The two tiny rectangular pieces of watermelon garnish on my plate of salmon Benedict were at their peak of flavor. So many of their exciting dishes contain fruits and vegetables - - my favorite ingredients in all my own cooking plus so good for you. They offer about 6 varieties of frittata egg dishes plus fresh salmon or beef burgers on freshly baked large pretzel rolls accompanied by beautiful creative garnishes. A delicious selection of sandwiches are also offered. The visual presentation of their food atop elegant rectangular white dishes is immensely pleasing and enhances the enjoyment of their food! About 6 different sweet crepe dishes including one with fresh strawberries and lots of whipped cream enticed me even more. Mmmmmm. Next time. And you must not forget the 5 variations of eggs Benedict including my favorite of thick slices of fresh perfect smoked salmon Benedict with poached eggs topped with their amazing hollandaise sauce made correctly with just the right amount of sweet cream butter and fresh (!) lemon. ABSOLUTELY perfectly cooked!! The best I have had in Sarasota. Their attention to detail on all levels of their business blew me away, including the freshly brewed coffee, which she checked to make sure it was good. It has been a long long long time since I found the ambiance ( simple elegance, spotless, bright, airy, inviting), the food seasoning, and the beautiful food presentation all so perfect.
