8.5/10 good stuff ive had these donuts a few times. they're quite large so there's a lot to chew on. the flavors they have on display are also great but a lot of the time i do feel they are overly sweet (biggest recipient of this hinderance would be the cookie monster flavor, the icing is just too much) but it's not that bad a lot of the time as well. the service is good and the ambiance is also good. i do feel the timing of this association is quite rough though; only being open from 7:00am-2:00pm for a snoozer like me isn't great but i understand why that is. read more

DO NOT stop by within the first hour they are open. The customer service at this location recently has been so unfortunate. This morning (January 30th, 2026) we arrived to pick up a box of pastries. The employee on duty was loudly taking a personal call, and refused to acknowledge us in any way. Not even eye contact or a gesture to say "one minute!" We stood there awkwardly waiting for her to finish, as she spoke of things we were not meant to hear. (Finances, payments, bills, etc). Only after concluding her call did she grudgingly acknowledge us, but it was with a bad attitude. She was immediately snappy, offered no greeting, apology or explanation, and rushed through our order. By the time she finally spoke to us (rudely no less), I was ready to walk out due to time constraints. I didn't appreciate the lack of professionalism from a place I frequent often and enjoy eating at. Sadly, it'll be back to Gold Star Donuts for us until the customer service team can improve on this. Found this Donut spot bc I had visited Monique's Bakery Boutique a few doors down. Decided on getting a glazed donut and a Boston Creme donut. Since they were closing they gave me the rest of the glazed donuts. These were okay to me. Their menu says they have a mix of cake and yeast donuts. I feel like they are in the middle not so dense but not so light. My fave ones are also in Sarasota - Peachey's. Glad I finally tried these. They are all over Sarasota like four locations. Check them out. You may definitely love them. This is a small location and not much for seating inside. Nice service and very welcoming. We did a donut crawl through Venice and Sarasota, Five-O Donuts offered a solid selection with some good items, but the maple long john didn't stand out compared to the others we tried. That said, several of their other donuts were enjoyable and worth getting again. read more

My daughter recommended that we try this donut shop to get their dad donuts for his birthday. I am so glad we went there during our stay in Florida. The lady was so sweet and shared all her recommendations to get for his birthday box. Everything is homemade. We got the lemon cake donut, croissant donut (my daughter's favorite, so good), strawberry donut for the birthday boy (it came with fresh strawberries/whip cream) and glazed donuts. Beautiful donuts, but they are extremely overwhelmingly sweet. We got the following flavors: s'mores, another with blue whip top, regular glazed, and Bavarian cream chocolate. The chocolate tastes like icing that goes on cake verses chocolate that balances the donut. The Bavarian cream was yummy. We couldn't eat more than a a few bites. The donut itself is much denser than a fluffy donut you would find elsewhere. They were pretty to photograph but the taste was not there for us. I've never had my kids turn down a donut-- kind of disappointing considering how much we spent on them. At least they looked fun and pretty! read more

Enormous and delicious donuts. These donuts are so big that I can not finish one in a sitting. We typically buy a box of 4 donuts, which includes two simples and two fancies. My favorite donuts are: Boston Creme, Cookie Monster, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Hey Shorty Oreo Bday. They have a standard menu and rotate seasonal items. They discount the donuts if you buy a 6-pack (10% off) or 12 pack (15% off), but with the size of these donuts, we never buy that many at once. They also have a loyalty program to earn free donuts. They might close early if they run out of donuts, but that has never happened to me at this location. This is one of five locations. Now that we have a new Five- close to our house, we don't come to this location anymore. The thematic decor is an added bonus. read more

Stopped in at 11:30am Saturday and some flavors were sold out but we had no problem filling a box! I cut them into pieces and made a donut charcuterie plate to share. The croissant was recommended and was very good. The strawberry filled was the largest donut in the box and was yummy. We liked them all. I'm partial to the chocolate! Store: convenient location. Easy parking. We got in and out quick. The staff was helpful and made suggestions since this was my first time in. I will return again and get there much earlier to see what I missed! read more

I have been there a few times and ants were a problem at the register area; a pretty big turnoff. Glad I stopped by Donuts are an occasional treat for me. In fact, I planned to stop someplace else for breakfast and found that place unexpectedly closed. I'm glad I remembered Five-O was close by. Their display of available donuts and a few other things was inviting. One of the donuts I selected, their Cherry Cheesecake, was because of how great it looked. The shiny bright red cherries just captivated me. As my second donut, I went Glazed, sticking to something more familar. I started with the glazed as it was easier to eat. I liked it but thought it could use more glaze. When I splurge on sweet donuts, I'm thinking more sweet. On to my second beauty, the cherry cheesecake. It was plenty sweet. The construction was taking an ordinary donut topped with the cherries and small cubes of cheesecake. I was able to enjoy it without making a mess and both donuts went great with my cup of coffee. The place is small, a couple of small tables, a counter facing a window where I landed. There were a couple of happy little kids at the tables, making my visit that much better. We were vacationing in Siesta Key and hungry for breakfast one morning. One of my buddies pulled up Uber Eats and found Five-O Donut Co. Five-O's donuts sounded delicious so we ordered a 6 Pack Mixed ($15). "Mixed" meaning two "simple" donuts and four "fancy" donuts. At the time of writing this review, Five-O offers about a dozen simple donut varieties (e.g. Chocolate Iced Yeast, Powdered Cake) and nearly 20 fancy donut varieties (e.g. Peanut Butter Butterfinger, Strawberry Shortcake). Here's what we went with in our 6 Pack: * Two Glazed (simple) * Two Glazed Croissants (fancy) * One Maple-Iced Vanilla-Filled Long John (fancy) * One Oreo (fancy) In general, we thought the donuts were delicious. For me, why four stars and not five? While the Glazed simple donuts and Glazed Croissant fancy donuts were good, I didn't think they were great. The Glazed didn't have the same airiness and melt-in-your-mouth texture as my favorite glazed donut, the Krispy Kreme Original Glazed. To be fair, I'm biased towards the KK Original Glazed. It's what I grew up with, what I love, and what I've grown accustomed to. Five-O's Glazed just wasn't as sweet nor as flavorful. We took the Glazed Croissants to be Five-O's version of the Cronut (croissant-doughnut pastry). While the Glazed Croissants were tasty, they simply didn't have the same wow factor as some of the best Cronuts I've tried (e.g. from Paris Baguette and Five Daughters Bakery). These were a bit more dense and didn't have the same delectable flakiness. That said, I do think you should get them if you haven't had them before. I enjoyed the Maple-Iced Vanilla-Filled Long John (what a mouthful). The "donut" was huge and rich. I put "donut" in quotes here because this was more monstrous and decadent than your typical donut and it didn't look like a traditional donut either. If you like sugar, cream, and icing, these Five-O Long Johns should be right up your alley. They have a Chocolate-Iced version too. It's more of a dessert like a cake to me. The Oreo appeared to be a Glazed donut with chunks of Oreo cookies and a bit of icing on top. It's another decadent and relatively heavy donut. Yummy. If you buy boxes by the dozen, you save a little money. For example, our 6 Pack Mixed was $15. If you get a Dozen Mixed, it's $28 ($2 savings). 6 Pack Fancies is $20 and Dozen Fancies is $36 ($4 savings). I also ordered a bottle of Natalie's Orange Mango Juice (16 oz) for $4. I think they're normally $3 or less at the store. Good stuff. Cold, refreshing, and nutritious. Five-O offers a few flavors of Natalie's juices. The donuts were delivered to our house on Beach Rd in Siesta Key in a reasonable amount of time by our Uber Eats driver. I forgot her name, but she seemed great. Sweet and friendly. Five stars. I know the delivery isn't on Five-O, but I thought I'd mention how our experience was ordering Five-O through Uber Eats. There are currently three Five-O Donut Co locations in the Sarasota area. I believe this location on Ringling Blvd is the original. It opened in May 2017. TL;DR - Five-O donuts are scrumptious and original. They're worth trying. I'd order from here again. We also got the Original glazed donut, Cinnamon toast crunch (the cereal was a bit stale and the icing too sweet), and the chocolate cronut. The original vanilla glazed cronut and donut was my favourite of the bunch. The vanilla glaze was thin enough and not overbearing on the flaky buttery croissant square. These wonderful people know how to make the donuts! My only word of caution is that you may need someone to pull you away from their products because you will want to eat yourself, silly by eating as many donuts as you possibly can. When small, my dad would drive us after Sunday school to the local heavenly donut shop for a FULL thrilling dozen! Today I am passionate about donuts. ( best were Granny's Donuts St Paul, Mn and Kane Donuts in Saugus, Ma). Twelve to eighteen months ago I would have awarded Five-O Donuts ( South Tamiami location) a true 5. But this last year they have greatly slipped and I have found all the donuts ( different ones each visit). Medium firm, texture a few days old ( early in the week). Only Croissant donuts hold up for several days because of their baked texture. To make matters worse, the WONDEROUS cream icing in their long John/ Bismarck ( long chocolate covered rectangle) is now only half filled, and to a bare minimum. I tried twice, each time hoping very hard that quality control would return, but to no avail. I have not returned for 6 months. The saleswoman at this location is also sullen. This was in a mini strip mall with lots of different donut options. I had been to the other location, so I knew what I was getting into. Besides their normal donuts, they had weekly special ones as well. I ordered a dozen donuts ($30) and my thoughts on the ones I had are below. Glazed - I tried this at the other location, but this one appeared a little doughier than I remember. Birthday Cake - This was a vanilla frosted donut with rainbow sprinkles and a birthday cake frosting. There was an Oreo cookie on top. I tried this one at the other location, and same thoughts applied. I enjoyed the combination of the vanilla and birthday cake frosting. Cookie Monster - This consisted of a blue frosted donut with a few cookie dough pieces and what appeared to be Oreo crumbles. I also tried this at the other location and thought it was a little plain. Peanut Butter Butterfinger - This was solid. I expected more of a peanut butter taste here, but it was more chocolatey. This was also stuffed with a frosting I believe. It might have been peanut butter, but it had to be combined with another flavor because it was not that peanut buttery. Banana Peanut Butter Filled - This had a frosting on top along with a nutter butter cookie. This was excellent. The combination of banana and peanut butter flavor made for an appetizing donut. Biscoff Banana Cheesecake - This was one of their weekly specials. It contained cookie butter, cheesecake, bananas and Biscoff crumbles. It was one of my favorite donuts of all time!! The cookie butter combined with the pieces of banana made for a great tasting donut. It tasted very similar to a homemade banana bread with enhancement from the cookie butter, just wow! Animal - This was another weekly special. It consisted of crushed animal cookie cream filled, vanilla iced, and circus sprinkles.
