Croque monseiur with side salad
Mackenzie C.

Stopped in for a quick lunch, and glad we did! All the staff were very friendly, and they have a to go option or a sit down option. They also had outdoor seating available. We sat down and both ordered sandwiches. Mine was really good, and the salad dressing was great too. Loved seeing the big display case of all the sweets and pastries they had. Fantastic place to stop in and check out!

Super cute family run place. Yummy pastries and super welcoming employees. Would recommend coming here to study!

We visit this shop a few times a year, and our experiences have always been positive…read more On this visit, I was excited to bring a few friends who were visiting from out of town. they loved the location, the atmosphere, and were looking forward to trying the shop. Unfortunately, this visit was different. while the shop was not busy, a lady in my group was spoken to in a way that we felt was dismissive and unwelcoming. it left us with the impression that we had interrupted whatever was going on at the time. as someone who enjoys supporting local businesses, that was disappointing to experience. I don't normally write reviews like this because I understand that everyone can have a bad day. however, I felt it was important to share my experience in hopes that it helps improve future customer interactions. Please don't let my experience discourage you from visiting. we have had many great visits here in the past, which is why this experience stood out. I also hope to see the lady who is normally here when we visit, as she has always been friendly, welcoming, and provided excellent customer service. We will absolutely visit again in the future, and I hope this was simply an isolated experience. If the owner or management would like to discuss what happened, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to share more details privately. THANK YOU

The staff was unexpectedly rude and unwelcoming from the moment I arrived. As someone dining alone, I felt dismissed rather than valued as a customer. The atmosphere may be beautiful, but good service matters just as much, and sadly this visit left me feeling uncomfortable instead of enjoying my time there. I hope management takes customer service more seriously in the future because no one should feel unwelcome for simply coming in alone to enjoy a meal or coffee.

The owners are a married couple with the husband in the front and the wife as the chef in the back. Classic French dishes executed very well with proper technique and delicious flavors. The mussels were my favorite although I rarely choose to eat seafood - which says a lot!! The escargot was buttery and soft. The bread was homemade with a stunning flower shaped butter which was well seasoned. They gave us an amuse bouche which was creamy vegetable soup - delicious! Scallops were seared nicely with a unique tangerine beurre blanc which complimented them well. Finished with a delicious gooey chocolate lava cake. The dinner, ambiance, and service were phenomenal. I would absolutely be back!

From the very beginning, you're greeted by the gregarious owner, who immediately makes you feel like you're a guest in his home. He's entertaining, genuinely friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. His enthusiasm and hospitality set the tone for the entire evening, and it's clear that the staff shares the same passion for creating an exceptional dining experience. Everyone works together seamlessly to make sure every guest feels welcomed and well cared for. We chose Antoine's to celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary, and it couldn't have been a better choice. It's the perfect restaurant for a special occasion. The food was outstanding. We started with the mussels, and I've never seen such an extensive selection anywhere else--there must have been at least 10 different preparations to choose from. The duck and the scallops, both house specialties, were cooked perfectly and absolutely lived up to their reputation. To finish, we shared the French puff pastry filled with warm, melted Belgian chocolate. It was pure heaven and the perfect ending to an unforgettable meal. If you're looking for an authentic Belgian-French dining experience with incredible food and even better hospitality, Antoine's is a true hidden gem in Sarasota. Don't just take our word for it--go experience it for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

I got the poularde crepe, wanting something savory. This was solid and tasty. Everyone else got nice little meals as well. I do feel like the portion and the quality is a little lacking for the price. That being said, I don't know that there are better French options in the area. I also got a palmier pastry and I should have gotten a croissant, the palmier tasted a little stale. The locale was adorable, with beautifully tiles tables really setting the scene. Overall, not terrible! Worthwhile if you're really feeling French.

Our server Casey was one of the best in the biz - he made the experience so great! We felt like we were besties with him. We shared the shrimp as an appetizer and ate it alarmingly fast. Then for entrees, my darling got the Chicken Milanese (Casey gave the hot tip to do mashed potatoes as a side and that was a crucial and worthwhile decision) and I got two apps as my entree, the Brussels sprouts and the Tuna tataki. The tuna is something I will be thinking about for years to come. We polished it all off by sharing a deliiiiightful key lime pie, a 10/10 choice. The wait staff in the bar area have come to feel like family. And the many patrons as well. There seems to be a new management. Though the restaurant closes at 9 on Sundays the staff in the bar area always made us feel comfortable to enjoy our dessert, last drinks and coffee while they cleaned up the bar. Tonight, we were told by the waitress at 8:50 that the kitchen would be closing and the restaurant would be closing at 9. At 9:00 to the minute the house lights were brought up, vacuum cleaners came out. Could they put out a larger banner "GET OUT". We had not finished our drinks or coffee. Or finalized the bill. PS. Our favorite staff I suspect have been let go. Have not seen them lately. PS. The bar was empty of all the regular clientele. (the ones that get a restaurant through in the summer months) PS. The waitress was nice and professional, however the restaurant management made me feel like I was in a fast-food corporate restaurant. PS. Not everyone in LWR eats at 6 and goes to bed by 9.
