Blue Dolphin Cafe is the only sit down breakfast spot on the north end of Lonboat Key. The food and service were both great, but nothing super special. This is a classic diner. They do have alcohol, so you can always have a beer or mimosa with your brunch! The service was quick and our food had great flavor. There is ample parking, but the location is very walkable when temperatures are mild.

We have been coming here for years. Every time we visit Longboat this is our staple. Food is consistent. Nice little cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. Service is good. They have oldies music playing which is so nice. This is a nice play to visit if you are in the area.

It was a fine little place to have breakfast but it's just like any other diner. The water they gave us didn't have any ice in it, no one offered us coffee, and the side of fruit that I got didn't even have a single berry in it!

This is our breakfast spot every time we stay in Longboat Key! You can't go wrong with anything on their menu. My husband got the blue dolphin special and I went with the Homemade corned beef with fruit and toast. Their corned beef hash is delicious! Most places don't offer homemade corned beef hash, usually it comes straight out of a can. Not here! The staff is very friendly and the service is fast. If you haven't been to this local family owned business and are in Longboat Key, this is a breakfast spot you have to try! There's a reason why we will remain repeated customers!

My FAVORITE brunch spot in LBK (or maybe anywhere, ever!). We've been coming to Longboat twice a year for over 3 years now and I make sure I get Blue Dolphin at least twice each trip down. The food is so good (and usually very fast), the staff is friendly and nice. You can tell they work really hard to make it a nice experience! Portions are big, the breakfast potatoes are super delicious. My favorite things to get are the western omelet or the bacon egg and cheddar egg sandwich. I just love it! See y'all again soon! :)

    Adorable.

Always a good place to hit for breakfast on the Key. Gravy is great. Scrambled eggs are cooked to perfection. Service was good.

We walked right by the bar and eventually found ourselves at a counter covered in deserts. Someone in staff was in hand to talk us through the various cakes and then seat us to order. We opted for the coconut rum cake and warm apple pie with ice cream as well as a chocolate cake. They were all irresistible and massive! The only meh was the chocolate cake was pretty dry. Otherwise, it was all exceptional! Overall, a neat experience in a darkly lit, wooden old school ambiance. Very fun!

It has charming bar areas, small dining rooms, and more upstairs. The server we had was excellent. My friends love their green tomatoes appetizer (with zucchini), eggplant appetizer, and superb Caesar salad that is served extra chilled. What a start...along with the banana nut bread! For mains, he had the duck (his favorite). J and I split their noteworthy pepper steak and I wanted the cannelloni. The cannelloni was so light and a homerun. My friends had never had it and we all agreed it was great comfort food. Now that pepper steak with a brandy sauce reduction-OMG-how amazing. The pepper crust was perfection. We did not have room for dessert but server said we could go upstairs and get something boxed to go. Looking at that dessert case is a feast for the eyes. We chose a classic tart with fruit and a coconut cream pie...which was the best I have ever had. This may be my new favorite upscale restaurant in SW Florida. I cannot wait to return! Applause to the owners, chefs, and our server.

It's got a relaxing beach vibe with outside seating and a nice patio in the back with enough shade. I could tell that they host nightly entertainment here with a small stage. For lunch, I ordered the lobster maki roll. I'm not a big sushi fan, but I was intrigued. This lobster roll was one of the best sushi rolls I've had in a long time. Also ordered include the blackened grouper sandwich, billionaire burger, and tempura shrimp appetizer. Our group loved every entree. The cocktails were also refreshing. I really loved my jalapeño watermelon margarita. Our server was wonderful - very friendly and quick service. Definitely an enjoyable lunch or dinner spot!

The parking place had ample parking where you needed a mobile app to pay for your parking. There was a larger souvenir store there if you needed to kill time before your seating. Once it was our time for our dinner reservations, we were greeted and seated at our table. Our waitress was a bit sarcastic or had a witty comments that didn't sit well with my kids. When ordering our foods, the kids asked what type of drinks they had since it was not listed on the menu. She said Coke but didn't elaborate that they had Coke products. Since she said Coke so fast our daughter didn't hear the response and asked her the question again where she just said that's a great question and ignored her and moved on. Food wise - we had the Peruvian ceviche, Peruvian chicken, I think I had a special grouper dish. The food was good. We were able to eat everything and the kids enjoyed their kids burger meals. Outside of the waitress comments, the place placed nice modern music to listen to and had the basketballs games playing on the tv at the bar.

The food is Mondo Biondo with flavor. The great thing is anybody can eat here. It is billed as a vegetarian vegan place or plant base place actually but they have meat and fish on the menu. Just they're very careful about where they source their products. I brought two of my friends here that are very picky from the Midwest and they were in love with the place. It has a nice ambience, very clean, kind of industrial, but warm ceilings are very high, so even though it's a small place it does not feel small in the least. The Chef is amazing! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and customer service oriented. It is on one of the main streets in Sarasota and if you walk by, it may not look that interesting but I am telling you you are missing out on a truly exceptional food experience. Go here do not wait. The wait time was about 45 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. The crab cakes were delicious, but the sauce was a miss for me. It was way too spicy. With crab cakes, I think it's best to keep it simple with a tartar-style sauce, of course vegan. I ended up eating them without the sauce and enjoyed them much more that way. The tofu Reuben was good overall, but the bread was a little soggy. A thicker or sturdier bread might hold up better. Even so, the flavors were good and I enjoyed it. Last but definitely not least was the raw blueberry cheesecake. It was absolutely delicious! However, the sauce served with it wasn't for me at all. Thankfully, I tasted it separately before pouring it on the cheesecake because I would have been disappointed. The sauce wasn't sweet and took away from the dessert rather than adding to it. Overall, I had a good experience and enjoyed most of what I ordered. I'll definitely be back, and next time I'd like to dine in and enjoy the meals.
