Have gone to Bee Ridge location for several years, but I'm done now and probably won't return. Always get the hook and ladder and noticed it was always different somehow and decided it wad bc it was most often made by a different person, which was acceptable. Now the sandwich is smaller, tastes totally different probably bc of the huge amount of mayo, which does not pass my taste test. Seems I recall a different type of sauce that has been replaced with waaay too much mayo, too bad, it use to be a great sandwich. read more

Went in on New Year's Eve. Ordered a large Italian togo. Drove into work and when it was time for me to eat I opened the box to a sandwich with NO MEAT. I called the store to notify them. The manager answer and called me a liar, stating that it was impossible for me to get a sandwich with out meat. He said he would have to watch the cameras before giving me a refund. It's been 2 days now and he won't return my calls or emails. Lesson learned open your sandwich before leaving to make sure there's meat on it lol read more

I have had sub sandwiches at many different places. This is the most expensive sub sandwich place I've ever been to. The posters and decor hint that they are going to donate some of their profits to fireman, but no where do they actually say that is what they do. A 4 inch sub cost $6.50. For two dollars more you can get a full size 12 inch fully loaded subway sandwich. The store was not crowded, But it still took 5 employees over 15 minutes to make this tiny little sandwich. Excellent Sandwiches Maybe I should say excellent sandwich, I only ever eat their Hook & Ladder, but I've eaten many of them from this location. We were semi-regulars for picking up food using their Rapid Rescue To Go during the height of the pandemic. I ate in today, so a good time for an updated review. As usual, there was plenty of turkey and ham. I get mine Fully Involved, I think the melted cheese, along with the mayo and mustard, gives it a distinctive Firehouse taste. The sandwich, on soft bread, is warmed unless you specify otherwise. I still like the "Welcome to Firehouse" greeting when I walk in, even though it can be lackluster. Someone was right there to take my order at the register. You pour your own drink from one of those touch screen fountain drink machines. My food was ready and they called my name just a few minutes after I poured my drink. The dining room was reasonably clean. They have a TV at one end that was not on today, so it was pretty quiet while I ate. There is a small parking lot, but it's at a big shopping plaza so there is lots of spots separate from the Firehouse lot. This Firehouse also has a Drive-Thru. read more

If it was possible to have less than one star I would rate it that. I was randomly in the area where this firehouse sub was and had a craving for an Italian sub. I went through the drive through of the firehouse at the corner of bee ridge and McIntosh. One car in front of me that was already getting its food, took about 15 minutes but even if I wanted to leave I couldn't because of the set up of the drive through. and the guy said please give us a few minutes. Which ended up being close to 15 minutes. Kinda surprised that it was so slow i had no issue with that because I wanted to look over the entire menu. But still I waited a little over 15 minutes after all of that and finally the guy took my order. I ended up just ordering the 8" Italian sub which for $11 was a rip off to say the least. I got up to the window and immediately paid for my meal. Then the guy said thank you and walked away. Just over 10 minutes went by before someone finally came to the window. I wanted to knock on the window just to make sure they were even around but I guess 15 minutes is the cut off. I got home and opened the sandwich to literally find it as an Italian type sub, smothered in mayonnaise, few pieces of meat and the bread with a few shreds of lettuce, I was so disgusted by this entire sandwich being literally drenched in mayo I tried wiping all the mayo off but the sandwich was completely ruined already, I couldn't possibly eat a minimal deli meat sandwich drenched in mayonnaise. Beyond disappointed to say the least plus the beyond awful customer service was beyond a joke. Would never come back and would never recommend to anyone. Employees consistent with greeting us when we walk in, preparing what we order on time and fresh, walking me through the Firehouse Subs App, offering to get a second basket when we received our food (when they saw we were splitting the meal). I have to say I am a huge fan of the sub. Locally we have Jimmy John's, publix, subway, jersey mikes, hungry howies, and firehouse. Fire house wins hands down, no contest. Best ingredients, staff, service, and drink machine. Everytime you walk in your greeted with happy faces. George the cashier is polite an direct, he has never made a mistake on my order yet and I have been here 40 plus times. The general manager rusty is always staying on top of all his employees, making sure nothing is missed or overlooked. He has taken my order and rung me up when it's busy. Not many in his position are willing to step in when customer service is being effected by the lunch rush. Out of 10 stars I give them an 11. Serious you won't be disappointed. read more

If you want to have your order made correctly, go to the restaurant or order pickup. I have had a much better experience in ordering for pickup, I'm assuming because they don't want to mess up an order when the customer will be coming into the restaurant. When I had food delivered, directions weren't followed and the side I ordered wasn't included in the bag even though it was on the receipt taped to the bag. Food ordered for delivery needs work, but pickup or in-person orders are always right. read more

One of subs was made incorrectly. Not noticing until get home when taking it back to get corrected the store had already placed everything away for night.
