This place is alright! Came with my parents, husband, and mother-in-law wanting some Venezuelan food. My family is Venezuelan and we have very high standards. My husband and in laws just wanted some yummy traditional food. We ordered some tequeños and a bunch of different arepas. These were solid but they were nowhere near the best we've had. We also got some of their house-made lemonade and we did enjoy it! The locale is cute and simple. The staff was a little standoffish but it wasn't a big deal. Having never had Venezuelan food we were looking forward to trying this place.Inside it's relatively small yet clean space. You do have to order from a counter and they call your name to come and carry the food tray back to your table. Napkins, condiments and plastic spoons were available at a nearby station. Kinda self serve all around. We ordered the sampler meal hoping to try a few items to see what we liked. I must say we didn't care for the dishes with all the fried dough and just didn't feel like we had a very healthy meal. We just weren't expecting everything to be fried. We had a delicious but difficult to eat soup at Coco's Bistro last night. The soup, or stew, was called Sancocho and was a special being offered. This is an order at a counter they call your name when your food is ready sort of place. Once it was obvious we didn't know what to eat as we stared at the overhead menu board, our order taker turned on the charm and sold us on this soup, made with short ribs. We also got a set of three Empanadas, which were described as being small size. I thought the soup broth was delicious, rich in flavor. Using a plastic soup spoon for eating larger items showed I didn't know how to eat this particular popular Latin dish. I finally gave up and started using my hands to separate meat from excess fat and bone, and I have no idea how else you can eat the corn still on the cob without just picking it up. The Empanadas were indeed small and were mostly thick pastry. We liked the place with its bright white faux brick walls and food photos. Nice background music played. Always looking for some good Latin food wherever I go. This time around I had a taste for Venezuelan. Found this place, & I knew it was a definite spot we just had to check out. Walking in I could tell we hadn't been either. Go straight to the counter and you will find handy menus as well as it on their wall above. I took the menu and we went for our usuals - a cachapa - folded corn pancake with massive amounts of two cheeses, & added shredded chicken. Second was an arepa pabellon - shredded steak, sweet plantain, shredded cheese, & no black bean. We split both of these but my fave was th arepa while my husband's fave was the cachapa. I love the sweet plantain with my arepa to balance off the salty of the shredded steak. I also asked for a side of garlic sauce that makes it over the top good. My husband loved the cachapa. It's a bit sweeter bc it's a corn pancake. He loves all the cheese which is way too much for me. Inside is thick white Venezuelan Xheese, while on the top is shredded cheese and Mayo. Inside is also additional shredded chicken which is extra. Service is simple, and nice. If you speak Spanish that's good, if not, just point. The food was excellent! The portions were medium. The prices were very high. My overall option is the value is not good considering the high prices and eating off paper plates and plastic silverware. With the premium prices. I would at least expect real plates and real silverware. Lunch here today was $83 (without tip). For 3 people. 1 woman and one teenage girl both who don't eat much. This place is wonderful. The decor inside is minimal but very clean and inviting. The staff were warm, inviting and helpful too! I got the Pabellón arepa and I am a big fan. It's not like any arepa that I've ever had before. They are served more like a sandwich with two cakes rather than a stuffed street style. At first I thought it was a little pricey for one arepa, but when I got it, it all made sense. It's more like almost two arepas worth of food. The sweet fried plantains against the salty savory beef and cheese was just phenomenal. I enjoyed every bite and would love to try another type while on my trip down here. They do have soda by the can (Coke products) for $2.50, also some little single serve wines and beer in the cold case too. Looks like there is maybe a dessert of some sort in there as well but I did not get one this time. My only bummer is that there's no coffee here - will have to try somewhere else for that! read more

Sooooo delicious! The staff was very kind and efficient. The food was fresh and prepared quickly. We wanted to make a pit stop for lunch before heading to the Siesta Beach and after hitting the outlets (Ellenton), but wanted something different. We don't have many, if any, Venezuelan cuisine places in Baltimore, and decided to check this out based on the reviews and menu. I knew my husband and mom would like the arepas, and saw the traditional pabellón (platter with rice, beans, shredded beef and plantains) that my kids could eat. My 7 year-old son is super picky with food and he enjoyed the meat and rice. I had the patacón with shredded flank steak, which was so yummy. For dessert, my mom and I shared the key lime marquesa. I live so close to this restaurant that I end up there a couple of times a month. It's so easy to come home tired and just want delicious comfort food. Coco's is the place. The staff is amazing and friendly. Service is prompt and quick. The restaurant is always very clean. I just love the Blondie (pro-tip-add the house-made mozzarella to the gouda) and the sweet plantain sandwich with shredded chicken. Other places in town make a plantain sandwich but Coco's is the best. The dessert mousses are the perfect size. The Nutella is so good. Sometimes, the chef makes his own hot sauce, which is perfect on the arepas. We had friends in town recently who have celiac disease so they have to be very careful where they eat. They just loved how flavorful Coco's was and that they could eat there safely. For those of us who have served in the military, there is a nice discount. I believe this applies to law enforcement and fire as well. I'm a huge fan and got take out (again) from there last night. read more

Today November 27th /2024!! terrible awful service, I am driving from Tampa with my two little ones, we were exhausted and hungry, my kids dropped food at the car, I walked in the kids into the restaurant while I was finding their sippycups and one diaper, as soon as I walked in the waitress told me she was recording my children ( according to her they were on their own) are you kidding me ? a 1 minute wait time and she threat me that how is possible the kids were there without me, hello I am single mother, I was sure kids were safe and I never stopped eye contact on them, how she didn't see me ? its awful, this is the kind of lots of drama and tv dramas produce in low minds!! by the way no willing to stay there or eat at any means, customer service is key in any business !!!!
