Déjà vu all over again; went to Regal cinema and walked down Main St. 1/2 mile to Peru 941 where we were greeted by the same waiter we had last time. I ordered the same dish as last time (chicken lo mein dish). My wife ordered lightly battered seafood (Jake's mixtape) ensemble and Peruvian beers. Nice staff and great food; generous portions- never rushed. 4.5 stars read more

The food was just okay. Nothing that makes you say I'd come back for that. The portions I tried were small for the price.

Wow! Delicious and freshly made. The meal I had was "Seco de Carne" and it was so tender and packed with flavor. Friendly staff and nice view of Main Street. read more

Absolutely Outstanding Experience at Peru 941! I had an amazing dining experience at Peru 941 Peruvian Cuisine in Sarasota! From the moment we arrived, the service was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely friendly. You can tell they truly care about their customers. The food was phenomenal ,fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We ordered the Papa Rellena, Jalea & Ceviche Combo, Arroz con Mariscos, and refreshing Maracuyá drinks, and every single dish was outstanding. The flavors were authentic, perfectly seasoned, and portions were very generous. The ceviche was fresh and vibrant, the jalea perfectly crispy, and the arroz con mariscos was packed with seafood and flavor. Absolutely delicious! Everything came out quickly, hot, and exactly as ordered. The staff was attentive without rushing us, and the overall atmosphere made the experience even better. If you're looking for authentic Peruvian food, great service, and an unforgettable meal, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending it to everyone I know! read more

Peru 941 - Grilled Beef Heart was delicious! - Peruvian Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

This place is amazing and soooo delicious! The food is so authentic and so fresh! Everything is made to order and they know what they are doing. Let them guide you! Lomo Saltado was soooooo comforting! The beef is tender and juicy perfection. I happened to have the sauce that came with our snacking corn on my little fries and ^_^ it's my favorite. Ceviche is fresh light and flavorful. It's everything you need it to be. Chicha morada was smooth and balanced too. My go to Peruvian place back home makes a nicely fermented version that I've grown accustomed to, but it's very nice here as well. They have pride in their food and service. Bring your manners and curiosity about the wonderful food of Peru! Everything that comes out of that kitchen will be prepared correctly with the history of Peruvian gastronomy in every bite (that's as poetic as I'll get). They have a lunch menu you can check out if you are unsure or on a budget. Enjoy! read more

Excellent place, the food was delicious and the staff friendly and attentive, we had the Ceviche, it was very good, we also tried the anticuchos ,delicious. We just went in to try those two things since we had already eaten earlier, I had heard so much about this place that I had to try it. The place itself has a nice look to it, and I will definitely make another stop here next time am near this town. I will come with an empty stomach next time read more

The food at Peru 941 is legit delicious and truly authentic. I've had my fair share of both restaurant and homemade Peruvian food, and I can honestly say this place gets it right. The papa rellena is absolutely amazing -- if I were staying in town longer, I'd be coming back for it again and again. We also tried the Tigre de Leche (I ordered it spicy), and it did not disappoint -- full of flavor with the perfect kick. We shared the steak as well, and again, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Beyond the food, the staff is incredibly welcoming and made the experience even better. Prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the prime downtown location right on the main strip. If you're in town and craving great Peruvian food, don't miss this place! read more

Service and is horrible and he is sarcastic in a rude way. He has a horrible attitude.

I really enjoyed my lunch here today. I'll get the "bad" out of the way first, and it really isn't bad. The restaurant is bright but it's also kind of generic. Nothing about it screams Peru or has much character. There's Latin music playing which does add some nice ambiance, but otherwise, it's just a comfortable place to eat. Not very ethnic though. Service, on the other hand, is great. It is a bit relaxed-I'm the only one here and no one checked on me after the meal was served and the entree did take a bit after my soup-but I don't expect a rushed meal when I'm at an ethnic restaurant. The server and maybe owner or manager, was very friendly and helped me with some items on the menu. They clearly want their customers to feel welcome. As for the food, I got their lunch special-the Aji de Gallina. It was shredded chicken and potato in a cream sauce with rice. It wasn't a lot of food-in fairness, it was probably a normal portion, but it was chock full of flavor. Not sure what to compare it to but it wasn't spicy. Just plain delicious. The soup that comes with the lunch special (or a soda or a salad) was also very good. Chicken soup but closer to a tortilla kind of spice. Delicious as well. I'm only going 4 stars because I wasn't blown away. I really enjoyed it and would go 4.5 if I could. It just didn't feel 5 stars. Regardless, you will absolutely get a great meal here with excellent service. read more

The best. Order the parihuela. We couldn't describe why we were so enamored. Just magical. Ceviche also incredible. Everything really was the best. So far best Peruvian I've eaten and I try to hit up every restaurant I come across. read more

Very authentic Peruvian food. I lived in Ecuador and have been craving authentic south American food for some time. Pros - great service. Staff is very kind and accommodating. The food is phenomenal. Definitely get the empanadas. Their two signature dishes are lomo saltado and pescado a lo macho. I ended up getting the seafood option but both are delicious. The grilled chicken was also very flavorful and moist. There is a large Chinese food influence in south America so dont be surprised if you see the fried rice options. Cons - none Definitely a fun casual place for dinner and a great way to either try some South American cuisine or get some familiar old time nostalgia. read more

Our family, who were visiting from New York, had such an amazing introduction to Peruvian cuisine, all thanks to Kenji. Kenji, our server, is a VERY passionate man who clearly loves his job and brings joy to Peru 941's customers. He knows his way around Peruvian cuisine and is the best with recommendations & drinks to complement said recommendations (which do NOT disappoint!) If you have any questions, I encourage you to toss them his way, as he is more than happy to indulge and assist. He's attentive and cares to hear your feedback as to whether his recommendation was spot on or if you're enjoying your meal. If you do get to enjoy the pleasure of having a 101 conversation with Kenji, he's hilarious and entertaining! The food is authentic, and with every bite, the flavors melt on your tongue, creating a euphoric food experience. The plates are so rich and flavorful! You can taste the high-quality freshness of what you ordered as you get exactly what you paid for! The portions are very fulfilling and easily shareable with the family. (You'll want to sample several dishes; they are all unique with distinct flavor variations.) The interior is very clean, smells nice, and overall adds to the flavorful experience. It's not too fancy but also not too laid-back--it's a perfect balance of the two! Overall, the building and atmosphere are perfect for families (big and small; our party is of 6) with a relaxed environment. read more

Everything about this place is amazing! Im surprised this place was empty when we walked in. Definitely a hidden gem in downtown Sarasota. The Lomo Saltado was one of the best I have had. My mom ordered the Pescado a lo Macho and it was soooo good. The Chicha Morada and Passion fruit juice were really good. The prices were all decent as well. If your looking for a good Peruvian place to eat, you found it. Don't think twice and just come to eat here if your looking for good food! read more

We were spending the day at the beach nearby and saw this restaurant online. I immediately knew it was going to be amazing! Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. We had Chicha morada, natural passion fruit juice, leche de Tigre appetizer, a pescado a lo macho and a Parihuela. Everything was delicious and our server was so nice and friendly, he would answer any questions and give us pointers about the different fish we could use when we make any fish dish at home. I'd like to say he was the owner but I'm not 100% sure. The restaurant is also very pretty, cozy and nice to dine in. We had a fun and everything was cooked to perfection. read more

Happened upon Peru 941 whilst walking downtown SRQ. It's a quint little place with a manageable menu. We were given corn nuts and a sauce for an appetizer. Was very good, a nice little snack able. Had a soup, which was very good. Sorry don't remember the name but was broth, chicken and vegetables. I had the lunch Peruvian fried rice for my main course. It was fine. Not a lot of flavor, so the taste was lacking but it was okay. Everything they serve is made mild unless you ask for spicy. Having never been here I didn't ask for spicy as everyone's idea of spicy is different. If I were to go again I'd go spicy in hopes of greater flavor. The food fine, the service was good, the environment is nice enough. A nice, affordable lunch. read more

The food is really good BUT, there was 4 of us and they automatically added an 18% tip. Dont get me wrong, i have no complain when it come sto food and the server's attentiveness. But party of 4 at 2:30 pm - they were only serving us, should not be an automatic 18% tip added. read more

Unfortunately, I was disappointed. To be fair, I am Peruvian and know how authentic Peruvian food should taste like. The food was mediocre at best. The fish from the ceviche tasted like they used frozen fish, the corn was undercooked and hard while the sweet potato was overcooked. Even the grilled fish was a bit undercooked. I did not ask for a refund or tell them about the disappointment because I do not want to cause any issues, but they should know that they have a lot to improve on. read more

Ambiance is nice and cozy. Service was great, specials and recommendations by our server were helpful and thorough. Our favorite place to eat in downtown Sarasota. I've lived downtown for about 18 months now, and this is by far my favorite restaurant. Me and my wife either dine in or pick up once a week. First off all the food is ethnic and delicious. My favorite would be the lomo saltado (probably the best one I've ever had). The restaurant is family owned and operated and they are some of the kindest people ever. The service is always fantastic and I guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face. I've never left a review on yelp before I created this account because of how great this place is. read more

So glad I tried Peru 941 tonight! The place was clean, attractive, great service, but the best thing was the food. I had the Peruvian style fried fish with seafood and a delicious creamy yellow sauce. It's called Pescado a lo Macho. The presentation was very nice and the taste was excellent. My friend really enjoyed his Peruvian style beef stew dish. I had a taste and the beef was tender and delicious. I will be back for sure! read more
