This place is amazing and soooo delicious! The food is so authentic and so fresh! Everything is made to order and they know what they are doing. Let them guide you! Lomo Saltado was soooooo comforting! The beef is tender and juicy perfection. I happened to have the sauce that came with our snacking corn on my little fries and ^_^ it's my favorite. Ceviche is fresh light and flavorful. It's everything you need it to be. Chicha morada was smooth and balanced too. My go to Peruvian place back home makes a nicely fermented version that I've grown accustomed to, but it's very nice here as well. They have pride in their food and service. Bring your manners and curiosity about the wonderful food of Peru! Everything that comes out of that kitchen will be prepared correctly with the history of Peruvian gastronomy in every bite (that's as poetic as I'll get). The food at Peru 941 is legit delicious and truly authentic. I've had my fair share of both restaurant and homemade Peruvian food, and I can honestly say this place gets it right. The papa rellena is absolutely amazing -- if I were staying in town longer, I'd be coming back for it again and again. We also tried the Tigre de Leche (I ordered it spicy), and it did not disappoint -- full of flavor with the perfect kick. We shared the steak as well, and again, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Beyond the food, the staff is incredibly welcoming and made the experience even better. Prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the prime downtown location right on the main strip. I really enjoyed my lunch here today. I'll get the "bad" out of the way first, and it really isn't bad. The restaurant is bright but it's also kind of generic. Nothing about it screams Peru or has much character. There's Latin music playing which does add some nice ambiance, but otherwise, it's just a comfortable place to eat. Not very ethnic though. Service, on the other hand, is great. It is a bit relaxed-I'm the only one here and no one checked on me after the meal was served and the entree did take a bit after my soup-but I don't expect a rushed meal when I'm at an ethnic restaurant. The server and maybe owner or manager, was very friendly and helped me with some items on the menu. They clearly want their customers to feel welcome. As for the food, I got their lunch special-the Aji de Gallina. It was shredded chicken and potato in a cream sauce with rice. It wasn't a lot of food-in fairness, it was probably a normal portion, but it was chock full of flavor. Not sure what to compare it to but it wasn't spicy. Just plain delicious. The soup that comes with the lunch special (or a soda or a salad) was also very good. Chicken soup but closer to a tortilla kind of spice. Delicious as well. I'm only going 4 stars because I wasn't blown away. I really enjoyed it and would go 4.5 if I could. It just didn't feel 5 stars. Very authentic Peruvian food. I lived in Ecuador and have been craving authentic south American food for some time. Pros - great service. Staff is very kind and accommodating. The food is phenomenal. Definitely get the empanadas. Their two signature dishes are lomo saltado and pescado a lo macho. I ended up getting the seafood option but both are delicious. The grilled chicken was also very flavorful and moist. There is a large Chinese food influence in south America so dont be surprised if you see the fried rice options. Kenji, our server, is a VERY passionate man who clearly loves his job and brings joy to Peru 941's customers. We were spending the day at the beach nearby and saw this restaurant online. I immediately knew it was going to be amazing! Definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. We had Chicha morada, natural passion fruit juice, leche de Tigre appetizer, a pescado a lo macho and a Parihuela. Happened upon Peru 941 whilst walking downtown SRQ. It's a quint little place with a manageable menu. We were given corn nuts and a sauce for an appetizer. Was very good, a nice little snack able. Had a soup, which was very good. Sorry don't remember the name but was broth, chicken and vegetables. I had the lunch Peruvian fried rice for my main course. It was fine. Not a lot of flavor, so the taste was lacking but it was okay. Everything they serve is made mild unless you ask for spicy. Having never been here I didn't ask for spicy as everyone's idea of spicy is different. If I were to go again I'd go spicy in hopes of greater flavor. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. To be fair, I am Peruvian and know how authentic Peruvian food should taste like. The food was mediocre at best. The fish from the ceviche tasted like they used frozen fish, the corn was undercooked and hard while the sweet potato was overcooked. Even the grilled fish was a bit undercooked. I did not ask for a refund or tell them about the disappointment because I do not want to cause any issues, but they should know that they have a lot to improve on. read more

Our favorite place to eat in downtown Sarasota. I've lived downtown for about 18 months now, and this is by far my favorite restaurant. Me and my wife either dine in or pick up once a week. First off all the food is ethnic and delicious. My favorite would be the lomo saltado (probably the best one I've ever had). The restaurant is family owned and operated and they are some of the kindest people ever. The service is always fantastic and I guarantee you will leave with a smile on your face.
