Lovely little local place to get a decent Cuban sandwich. One sandwich is big enough to share! Very crumbly. Simple flavors. Classic sandwich. Also got a basket of fries - nicely fried and fresh tasting.

Wanted to try this place for a while now and got to stop in for lunch today. Small family owned business that is rooted in Cuban and Argentinian cuisine. Owners are incredibly nice and take pride in what they do. Decor takes you back to Cuba and personally reminds me of the time I spent in country. I got the breaded chicken sandwich based on previous reviews and I have to agree, it's great! Massive breaded chicken cutlets on fresh bread. It was delicious and filling. I definitely want to come back and try a daily special as they also sound really good.

This is a small little cafe in a plaza. There's less than 10 tables but it looks like a popular place for take out. I liked my order of breaded chicken sandwich with fries and a cafe con leche but I saw husband's Cuban and appetizer of yuca and plantains it made the rating lower. I would stay away from those items because they're not as good as the humongous (but flattened) breaded chicken sandwich.

Authentic Cuban flavors! I am Cuban and recently moved to the area. I have been living in NM, where there is primarily Mexican food, and I have been craving Cuban food for a long time. This was the first restaurant I visited after arriving, which made my day! This food is fully authentic Cuban, not Columbian stuff! The service was terrific, and the ambiance had a very hole-in-the-wall vibe. Highly recommend!

We had 2 appetizers, carpaccio (which was excellent) and the empenandas. I had a few bites of the corn one, which was good. The beef and chicken were very dry. My daughter had sirloin pichana, which was good and a large portion. My husband was looking forward to the paella, online images showed it full of seafood. However, both he and my adult daughter agreed it was flavorless....that Uncle Ben's rice has more flavor, and the seafood in the dish was miniscule. I had the $90, dry aged ribeye, medium rare. When it came out, there was a think crust on outside..no problem, but I could barely cut into it. As I was saying into it, the entire table was moving back and forth. Inside was barely any pink in middle, the outside pieces were brown, no pink at all. I did what I NEVER do, sent it back. The waiter said they use a thermometer to tell when done and that with dry aged beef, the color is different when cooked. He did take it back, no problem at all. After about 10 minutes, I had my new steak. Which was cooked less for sure more red inside but was still incredibly touch to cut into, let alone chew. In general, pretty disappointed all around. Our bill was $300, so we're bummed to have spent the money and left feeling unsatisfied.

I arrived 5:30pm to a reserved seat for someone at 7pm. Was told I would have to move when they arrive. I agreed with no issue. I left at 7:35pm; no one showed up! Why for my stars! I felt neglected at some points. They were talking to other guests that I assume come often. They other guests leave and the door was opened by the bar staff to thank them. I leave and no one opened the door for me. I am pretty sure I spent more money than they did. Hence, my 2 hour 5 min meal. Please know; I grabbed my ear pods and entertained myself. So I was content. Fabiano, you were great!

We decided to try something different since we were in Tampa and made reservations for 8:15 PM…read more When we arrived, the entrance was packed and there was no host or hostess in sight. Several couples were waiting. While standing there, we heard a woman tell another patron she did not have a reservation, yet when the manager came out to seat guests, he seated a large group and then that party of three before the rest of us who had reservations. Shortly after, he loudly announced, "Reservations first," which was confusing considering what we all had just witnessed. When we were finally seated, we were initially placed at the worst table in the room by the kitchen and bathroom but were accommodated after requesting a move. We then waited 10-15 minutes before the manager instructed Daniel to take care of us. Daniel ended up being the highlight of the evening--professional, apologetic, and attentive despite circumstances clearly outside of his control. We ordered empanadas, only to find out the flavors we wanted were sold out. Daniel brought cheesesteak, four-cheese, and shredded beef instead. The cheesesteak had decent flavor but was dry. Overall, the empanadas were very doughy and the meat lacked moisture. We then ordered the All Beef Parrillada. When it arrived, my wife checked the temperature and tasted a small piece. Immediately after, a server returned and said the dish wasn't ours and took it back. We watched her walk into the kitchen and then bring the same tray out to another table seated two tables away--who had been seated after us. That was extremely concerning. To make matters worse, we were then informed that mashed potatoes were no longer available and needed to select another side--yet the table that received the dish we had touched was served mashed potatoes. We ended up with extra rice and spinach. The spinach was oily with no noticeable garlic, salt, or seasoning. The rice was plain white rice with peas and carrots and little flavor. The steak itself, however, was well-seasoned and prepared nicely. During our visit, we also noticed another Black couple seated next us who waited at least 30 minutes without being greeted or even served water. They eventually left. Shortly after, the table was seated with white males who were greeted and attended to within 10 minutes. That observation was very difficult to ignore after talking to them. Daniel did not charge us for the empanadas, spinach, or the sangria (which he made promptly so we wouldn't experience another long wait). The sangria was very good. His professionalism and sincere attitude were the only things that salvaged the evening. Overall, the service inconsistencies, food execution, and handling of dishes--especially serving a plate that had already been touched--were disappointing and extremely concerning. We came for a different experience, but unfortunately left questioning whether we would return. 2 stars for steak taste and season and Daniel's effort.

Renzo's is one of those Tampa staples that never disappoints. It has that warm, neighborhood…read moresteakhouse feel. The steaks are the highlight. Perfectly seasoned, expertly cooked, and served sizzling hot. The ribeye was rich and tender with just the right char. Their chimichurri adds that bright, herby punch that takes everything up a notch. The empanadas are a must to start -- flaky, flavorful, and hard to share. I also love the beef carpaccio as a starter. The sides are classic and generous, and if you have room, don't skip dessert. Service feels personal and attentive without being overbearing. It's a great spot for a date night, family dinner, or even just a glass of wine and steak at the bar. Tampa has plenty of steakhouses, but Renzo's keeps me coming back for the consistency, quality, and welcoming atmosphere.
