Skip the national chains. Dan's Market / Noreen's Deli is the perfect alternative. Very hard to find neighborhood stores anymore, the big nationals have put most of them out of business so happy to support local businesses like this - not to mention the deli sandwich I ordered was fantastic! Traditional Italian with lettuce, tomatoes and pickles - the sub roll was amazing too. Can't beat the price!!! $9.66 for a half sub (it was pretty large BTW) and a bottle of water. They have a nice butcher shop and all the convenience store necessities. Definitely give them a try, the inside is a throwback of organized clutter typical of a long standing family business. read more

Visiting family in Bradenton and was sick of getting Wawa, Jimmy Johns and Firehouse. Found Noreen's on a search and ordered online. Went to pick it up and wasn't sure what I signed up for since it's in a nondescript sort of convenience store. I ordered the Godfather and it was honestly one of the best grinders I've had. Would definitely go back. Staff was friendly as well. Definitely recommend. read more

Noreen's Deli - a sub sandwich with onions and pickles - Delis Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

So I felt it was a mixed bag of reviews when it came to this deli as past ownership was mentioned. I don't know who owns it now but for a old school deli, Noreen's will suffice! I had to order their staple The Godfather along with their Ham and Cheese sub (sorry I forgot what it was called and didn't feel like opening another browser). The GF was an awesome Italian sub and you can tell that bread was as fresh as can be. I opted for their large and it was very very filling as it's enough for 2 meals!! It was accompanied by a 16oz can of Diet Coke. I must live under a rock because I've never seen a 16 oz can before!! The location was easy to find and the deli/store looks like it had been there for many years yet it made use of its space. The ladies at the register were sweet as I wish them continued success. read more

Noreen's Deli - Pic of the front of Noreen's - Delis Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

This is not an Italian deli, the worst sandwich I've ever ordered for roast beef and Swiss lettuce, tomato mayonnaise, salt and pepper. It had two slices of roast beef on it. 3/4 of it was lettuce and it was overloaded with mayonnaise. The bread also was terrible. Expensive, probably worth three bucks. Ordered a large dill pickle. It came unsliced when a bit it. It exploded like Jell-O in the middle so it was pretty old. Pass on this place for future reference. read more

Always a go to always fresh and made to appreciate almost feel bad eating it never had bad expletive

When my daughter comes down from NY we go to Noreen's we get two godfather's and get a brownie and Gatorade food is wonderful the taste of the sandwiches is mouthwatering and the brownie is great the service is great and ambience very clean when you walk in they say hi even when they are busy read more

Chose to try the Rueben sandwich (one with Pastrami & one with corned beef) since Yelp gave this establishment a 4.2. When the woman behind the deli counter asks if you want mayo or mustard on your Rueben sandwich RUN. Mistake number 2 after seeing the dilapidated building outside and inside. After opening up the foil wrapped sandwich to discover an ungrilled soggy brown bread (not rye bread I've ever seen) cold sauerkraut in a pool of liquid-#3 mistake. The absolute worse Rueban or sandwich of all time. Should've listened to my gut before going to this deli. Now my. Gut isn't feeling well. Negative digits for this catastrophe on St Pattys day!!! Had to give a star to post this- Yelp should offer no stars for reviews. read more

Great big big sandwiches quality fresh I go for the corn beef or Italian bread is very good lettuce and tomato s

I worked there for 14 years. I loved the customers and the employees that I worked with the food is awesome I mean awesome I would recommend Noreen's!! read more

Food quality was terrible. Ordered hotdog with ketchup and mustard only but got a cold chili dog with a bunch of other crap on it. The chicken sandwich was shredded chicken (barely any chicken) and a bunch of lettuce on 2 slices of bread. The only employee in the store didn't want to be there and just threw a bunch of stuff together. There are plenty of other really good hole in the wall restaurants in the area. Steer away from this one. read more

Not sure where or who does the reviews. We stopped based on the reviews and thought to give it a shot. But don't waste your time. The bread not fresh and definitely not baked there. We ordered a chicken cheesesteak and Turkey dip. Both meats tasted old. And we couldn't even eat it as we spit it out. The onions were old. Service was eh.. definitely not going back and don't recommend read more

Noreen's Deli - Greek Salad and a Huge Italian III Sub ! Homemade oil and vinegar dressing ! Yum ! Salad Bar Salad Bar - Delis Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

Noreen's is more of a convenience store than a deli, in my opinion. It is another place that is very close to my work that my workmates often suggest as a lunch option. There are not many deli's in the area, other than Subway, so I definitely recommend giving them a try. Their Italian sub is the best that they have with two options referred to as Little Italy I & II. There is also a Godfather and Godmother sub. The bread is not made in house and is quite a crumbly hoagie roll. They cut it down the middle to look like an oversized hot dog bun, then roll up a stack of meat and shove it in the middle. On top of that teetering meat bread goes your toppings, such as; shredded lettuce, sliced tomato, vinegar peppers, and salad dressing (Italian Dressing). Then it is all tightly wrapped in clear plastic cling-wrap for you to take to a location and attempt to eat in a clean manner. I recommend calling your order in, because there is not much of a waiting area inside. Unless you feel like browsing through a convenience store for 15 minutes, or attempting to sit at one of their dirty tables. This place gets really crowded during lunch time, which is not much fun in a confined area. read more

Sandwich was one of best after. Steamy warm on inside and bun slightly crunchy on the outside. Perfect!!

They're sandwiches are fire I used to always get when I was younger and I went the other day and they still had the same great sandwiches like always the godfather is sooo good read more

Noreen's Deli has been around forever. I moved away 25 years ago and was back in town visiting family and decided to stop by Noreen's Deli. Walking in reminded me of my childhood with all of the subs I grew up with (Godfather, Godmother, USA I, USA II, etc). Subs tasted exactly the same!! There was a salad bar there that you could create your own salad. It is still a convenience store that you can purchase snacks, drinks, lotto, etc at. But the subs are still the same!! The owner was very nice to us and enjoyed reminiscing about the "old" days! read more

It is a hole in the wall place in an unsavory place but you will never get bread as good at Subway. It was my first visit and had the godfather. If you want a real foot long sub, go there! It was at least a foot long. A man ordered a small godfather ahead of me and when I saw it we both looked at each other and his face was saying goo luck pal. I ate the entire thing in the parking lot. Come hungry and take your shirt off. I lost a work shirt to oil. Get it on the side if your eating in the car. They are careful to ask if you want oil on side but the oil rocks. read more

Solid little deli. Just judge a book by its cover. There is plenty of parking on the side of the deli but don't just drive by this place. It's set up like a gas station, order your sub, while they're making it, walk around to grab your chips, drinks, etc and pay up front. Minimal seating inside and out but solid sandwiches. read more

The sub was delicious, italian meats, provolone cheese and fresh tomatoes and onions. The bread was great, baked that day. They delivered at exactly the time we asked for. We were very happy with the chefs salad, stuffed with fresh deli meat and veggie. We will definitely become a loyal customer. read more

I've been coming here since I was a kid. I've always loved Noreen's! The deli sandwiches are better than you'd get at any subway or firehouse. The sub dressing is perfect. There's also homemade cakes, cookies, cold salads, a salad bar, etc. I will always come to Noreen's. It's home for me! My go-to is the USA read more

Unassuming place from the street but can vouch for the food. The Godfather sandwich is outstanding. And I believe the banana pudding is the best I've ever experienced. 10 on a 10 scale. The vibe is also great from the hard working staff. read more

Working in Sarasota this week and this place was recommended to me by the branch. It kind of puts you in the mind of a convenience store. (basically what it is)... also not sure of the neighborhood/area.... HOWEVER The names of the sandwiches are pretty cool. I got the God Child with rolled Turkey, Capicola, lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, banana peppers, mayo, dressing and oregano. The ladies making the sandwiches were nice and patient. I got a small which was more than enough. They also have a small salad bar where you can make your own salads. Appears they have many frequents so don't be discouraged bc it's only 2 reviews. Check it out! read more

Noreen's Deli - God Child: Rolled turkey, Capicola, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Onions, Banana Peppers, Swiss Cheese, Dressing, Mayo and Oregano :) - Delis Near Me - Bradenton, Florida

Prices are good, sizes of the subs are decent. However, my stomach did not like the sub I had last night. My husband ordered for us last night and brought them home, I had the Little Italy I. I had to take the capicola out of my sandwich because it was so fatty I couldn't actually take a bite out of the sub as the whole piece of meat came with each bite, it was gross. Also, immediately afterward I felt sick to my stomach, and this morning my stomach still bothered me. My husband also stated that it was not busy in there yet someone had to ask another associate to take his order.. and she exclaimed with confidence "you'll be back!", meh.. maybe she jinxed it. However, my husband said his Philly was ok. read more

Seriously the best place to get a sub. Not Subway, not Publix, not Firehouse. Noreen's is the place to go. I always get the Bradenton with pickles and no peppers. So freaking good. My husband always gets the Godfather and even my son who is slightly picky, especially with veggies, LOVES Noreen's. He gets the Bradenton like me and gobbles it down. If you're ever in or near Bradenton, stop by here for lunch. If you live in Manatee County and you haven't been, what are you waiting for?? Only complaint is they haven't become a chain yet. They need one store opened in west Bradenton. read more

The place has been there under the same management for decades. The menu hasn't changed much with the signature Godfather sub. The sandwiches are amazing, good sides along with specialty items like crab rolls, and don't miss the homemade desserts. read more

Decided I would go to Noreen's Deli today for lunch. I haven't been there in quite a few years and thought that a Godfather sub would be really good. I was totally disappointed. It was not the sub of years ago when different owners had the deli. It was half the amount of meat, dry and the bread just crumbled when I picked it up to eat it. I also tried the crab roll which use to be awesome, but nope it was totally nasty. Tasted like ketcup and no crab taste. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

Use ur GPS for Noreen's as it is easier that way. They make GREAT stuff. It reminds me of my east coast delis. Support the locals!!

Been going to Noreen's for years. Now...understand please that you are going to get a great & ridiculously huge sub for approximately $5. Yes, you might need to prepare yourself for what might turn out to be a bit of a mess: definitely not a first date meal!!! However...I love this place and will continue to get my sandwiches from hear for years to come, I'm sure! Also worth mentioning, in a neighborhood where you might want to go a little underdressed. read more
