there was a couple ordering before me at the counter, nobody else in the store. There were 4 employees on staff. It took about 20 minutes to get my order with one person making all the sandwiches while the 3 others talked. Also, processing the credit card, a tip menu came up. So I'm wondering that I haven't had a chance to evaluate the food or the service - Why is this? Don't they pay the guy at the counter to take the self-serve orders? i finally figured out that I needed to select "other amount " and type in zero in as the amount to make the whole transaction go forward. The subs are good, but our to-go orders were made wrong on our last two trips there. The first trip, the subs were not toasted as asked, and one sandwich did not include the pickle spear that usually comes with it. On the 2 trip, we substituted the cheese with a different one, it was even on the receipt, and there was no cheese. We asked for everything. all vegetables on the sandwiches, and only the standard vegetables came on them. I want to like this place, but they make it difficult. I guess it's best to eat there, so they can correct their mistakes, instead of leaving and finding out when you get home. read more

Today 04/26/26,Sunday we ordered one combo and one sandwich. a small ham and cheese and a fully involved medium Italian on white bread. I had to repeat this at least twice before the counter person got it. When we received the sandwiches, the ham and cheese was just dumped on one corner of the bread. On mine, all the condiments were at one end of the medium sandwich with enough lettuce for two other sandwiches. This is the first time that this poor of service occurred at this location. We did notice that the most mature person in attendance was maybe 20. Most of the staff had unruly long hair covered with a baseball cap and a person with a beard did not have a net covering the beard. we only saw one staff wearing gloves while handling food. If this is an example of the conduct and appearance of staff, you WILL be loosing business. read more

we just stopped in to get a door dash order, went to the counter ( two young guys were working ) told me there were orders ahead and to wait . the two blonde ladies. called out some door dash names except mine and they purposely placed it k. the rack but did t have the respect to call out my door dash name S they did the others so after waiting 10 minutes the two blondes were laughing when h noticed what they did which only makes them look shady disrespectful and very unprofessional - She purposely was calling out door dash names then randonly stop for ours as they saw us sit there 10 minutes . clean the RED lamps by where your preparing the food please There is an inch of dust on all of them - read more

First time trying this national sub shop and must say it was very good. Ordered the Philly cheesesteak and the beef was tender, the mustard gave it a nice flavor and the bread was soft and tasted so good. Much better than Jersey Mikes subs. Service was great as well and the inside of the restaurant was decorated very nice with an obvious fireman theme. Also good to know a portion of payments go toward firemen! Average sub shop at best. For some reason there was smoke in the restaurant (no joke) during my visit. I assume it was from cooking, but made me question the ventilation system. Although the employees were nice, the rest was dirty around the drink station and several tables with food / trays left behind. Quality of sandwich delivered failed in quality when compared to the pictures shown on the board. Wilted veggies, little meat, and stale bread. While I was able to fill up, I would not likely return to this location. read more

They make a great sandwich Tonight's dinner was a Hook & Ladder sub, fully involved, a warm ham & turkey sub with cheese and the usual toppings. It really is an outstanding sandwich, moist and delicious. I got the usual friendly Welcome to Firehouse greeting that Firehouse Subs does when you walk in. It takes a few minutes to make the sandwich and when it was done they brought it out to me. The dining area is large and bright with a few TVs. There is plenty of parking outside. read more

I need to get one thing out of the way: I really don't like places that yell at you when you come through the door. I've avoided Moe's for years because, frankly, it's embarrassing when a bunch of 16-year-olds who'd rather be anywhere else on earth than welcoming me must yell "Welcome to Moes!!!!" in fake enthusiasm. Firehouse unfortunately decided they needed a similarly ebullient welcome, but the enthusiasm level isn't nearly as embarrassing, and the sandwiches are good enough that I can handle a halfhearted "Welcome to Firehouse." That awkwardness aside, the sandwiches are goooood, really gooood. Get the hook and ladder and you will not be disappointed. I also recently tried the Italian, fully involved, natch, and it may surpass the hook and ladder as my new favorite. I think the secret's in the ham they use: it's not fatty, and it's honey cured, so it's a nice balance for the savoriness of the rest of the sandwich. Bonus points for that rockin' hot sauce bar on the counter: I always take one or two home to try and have found some really tasty ones. Last year I was in a rush and needed to find something to eat before a meeting. I was in a rush and ordered it to go and I was pleased that I was in and out of Firehouse Subs in about 7 minutes. I ordered the turkey and cranberry sandwich (under 500 calories; $5.50) It was delicious. I've eaten at many different types of subs and I think this place presents a "healtier sub" experience... I guess you will have to try it once to see if you like it. (All I know is the bread is lighter and I didn't feel like my stomach was processing a bowling bowl afterwards.) This year, I introduced my parents to Firehouse Subs, on a Sunday evening when we were hungry and the refrigerator was a little bare. I ordered the steak and chesse sandwich (1100-1400 calories) meal which included a huge drink and chips. It came with cooked mushrooms, onions and green peppers, but I was told they could modify this if I wanted. My mom got the thai pork sandwich (a limited time special) and my dad ordered the turkey and cranberry sandwich. We enjoyed the food. We also ordered 2 brownies and a choclate chip cookie. (under $3 -- and delicious!) I know they will be back -- especially for the desserts. The place is very easy to miss -- it is to the side and behind the Venice Starbucks by the office supply store. The staff is friendly, air conditioning was cool (temp was over 90 degrees outside) and I really liked how clean they keep the place. It also has lots space and a nice environment to "eat in" instead of taking it "to go". I also like that they support their local fire fighters (they had a jar out to support (local fire agencies) and the walls have photos of Venice's fire history and other fire-fighter memorabilia. read more
