Fast, friendly service with great prices and yummy food. My friend and I ordered the double hot dog combo (1 chicago dog; 1 chicago fire dog) which comes with fresh cut fries for $10.99. We also ordered an IBC root beer and got a frosty glass to pour it into for $2.99. The fresh cut fries were also good, not the best ones I've ever had, but great for the price. I found a few to be a bit grease saturated, so I just skipped over eating those particular ones... I think he's been gone from Chicago too long because neither tasted like REAL Chicago beef or a Chicago Dog. The beef was lighter in color and tasted more like a beef/pork blend. I opted for the "dipped" option where the whole sandwich was dipped in gravy. The beef was served on French bread with hot peppers. Sweet peppers could also have been chosen. This sandwich was very good. I thought the gravy soaked bread would be too wet, but that was not the case at all. It did not fall apart one bit. Make sure you go to the location in Sarasota. They know what they are doing up there. I tried this one because they are so faithful in Sarasota and I've never let me down but the day before Labor Day the southside location was terrible. Soggy thin pickle on my Chicago dog and the fries and chili were just horrible. Sarasota has nice crunchy pickles on their Chicago dog. Also, I tried the brat and it was terrible.
