So glad I found Food + Beer for my trips to Venice Beach. Great food, drinks, and vibes. Best food I've had and comparable to Tampa places. Pleased with every drink and flavor and even came back for a second night on my trip. The Buffalo Chicken Wedge salad is my favorite with the jammy 6-min egg. I will be back and love the staff. Bartenders and servers are amazing! I will be back on all my future trips. read more

Plenty of times being here and I don't know why I haven't reviewed. I've taken my son here for brunch and stopped by on many occasions but I guess I was busy. Love the staff and the selections and this was my first time getting wings. So apparently, Thursday is their wing special day so i ordered some. Couldn't be happier with the selection. It's worth the try if you are looking for some great food read more

Husband and me wanted to watch football and we wanted a nice atmosphere, great cocktails and food. After extensive research online we landed on Food + Beer - Florida Sports Bar in Venice. I'm so glad we chose this restaurant. We were immediately welcomed and when I requested a different table than originally offered so we had a good view of our preferred football game we were accommodated without hesitation. Tory was our server and she was very efficient on a busy football Sunday. I had the Paloma cocktail and it was delicious I just wish the bartender would have a nice black salt rim it was watered down. And I received a grapefruit segment on the first Paloma no lime wheel. No grapefruit or dehydrated lime wheel sight for my additional Paloma. Husband asked for a blackberry mojito but was told they couldn't do it. They offered a strawberry mojito instead which husband enjoyed but I was annoyed because their "Let's get Ready to Bramble" cocktail features blackberry. That was the only letdown. The menu was the draw for us we ordered from their regular menu tod. We will be back to try their bru ch menu the Hot Brown and Shrimp and grits and more... Today we started with Grouper Nuggets and Nashville Gator bites. The Grouper nuggets were well seasoned and grouper delicious. The Gator bites were better than expected. The pickle and sauce served with the Gator bites were yummy. We were watching football and enjoying cocktails. We decided to try the Crab Rangoon mozzarella sticks. These were very good and true to Crab Rangoon flavor. I couldn't help thinking that a little chili like Jalapeño or Poblano in the cream cheese mixture would have been excellent but crab Rangoon does not have a very chili so... Finally reshaped the Birria Tacos. This was my favorite dish today. The taco shells were crispy the braised beef filling was so good. The thing that put it over the top is the Consommé Dip. OMG! In conclusion I highly suggest you get yourself over to Food plus Beer in Venice for some very tasty food in a clean, fun, cool atmosphere with very good service. Best Wishes everyone! read more

Really great service. The Thursday wing special is terrific. Where else can you have 10 wings and a sweet tea for $14? Clean and cool place filled with locals and tourists. read more

Great service and great menu. Always have a good time and appreciate the creativity with the drinks. Plenty of tvs for games and plenty of separation for just a good meal read more

ordered take out for lunch with our office, we have ordered before a while ago and satisfied with the food we ordered. Today another story, ordered a Chicken Fajita Wrap with Fries. Well the fries were the small pieces (small enough to be eaten with a spoon) and soggy, the chicken wrap tasted as they took plain white rice with chicken and added a little spicy mayo, there was no fajita taste to it. Unfortunately will not be returning due to the food quality, the staff was good though read more

We ordered Chicken Caesar Wrap and Chicken Fajita Wrap. - No crispness to the Chicken Caesar Wrap. Fries over cooked and soggy. Very disappointed first time visiting. read more

Great burgers and wonderful fries. The best side was the Brussel sprouts and bacon! It was delicious

Good wings, cold beer, friendly staff. Seems like a pretty good place. Lots of TVs and whoever is in charge of the playlist deserves a raise. read more

The service was friendly, timely and efficient. The burgers were very good; juicy, tasty and, while not huge, nicely proportioned. The fries were very good. One drawback is they do not offer onion rings. Weird for this type of establishment. However, had the Brussels's sprouts instead and they were excellent! Another big plus is that food is served until after midnight, a rarity in the area. Definitely worthy! read more

Safety issue. Bag wide open. Food sideways on Uber driver's floor. It looks so bad I just threw it out. How do I know what this guy did to it? Pickle lettuce tomato and onion under the wax paper of soggy fries. I work in a restaurant and we have to make sure everything is seal and cannot be tampered with. read more

Thursday's .89 cent bone in wings nice deal right. BUT blue cheese dressing and celery are another .89 cent each.

With an area so stuck on fancy restaurant names we decided to try this place solely for its very literal name. We were not disappointed! The beer was cold, mixed drinks were good and the food really hit the spot. We started with some Mexican street corn that was loaded with creamy toppings and feta cheese and added some house cut fries loaded with chili. But the surprise item was the "walking taco" that literally loaded a taco ingredients into a bag of fritos. Wow! We gotta try this at home. Service is friendly and efficient. We will definitely return the next time we're in the area. read more

We were in the area and decided to have lunch. My son in law had been there before so he drove us there. We were sat quickly and received menus. Drink order was taken, after that our waitress was missing in action. Not sure if she had too many tables, I didn't think the restaurant was very busy. We flagged her down because my son in law said his water tasted soapy. Once she returned we placed our food order. There's a lot of spicy dishes on the menu, which I understand it's a place to drink and get something to eat. The food was well executed and came out hot. Two of us had wings which were well executed. I had a Mexican bowl which was tasty and my daughter had the Hot Brown of the brunch menu, my granddaughter had the French fries and they were really good. read more

Great experience, clean restaurant very fast service would return. Food was great all extremely fresh and well cooked. Not pictured we also ordered the crab Rangoon mozzarella sticks, they exceeded expectations and were my favorite. read more

Chicken wrap was good and the happy hour drinks were excellent but my husband's grouper sandwich was thinner than a McD kid burger and was on a tiny flat generic bun. It was $28!!! Terrible price and I had to make my husband food at home bc it was a nothing "burger". Very disappointed and will never order grouper there. Go with wraps, salad, wings or cheesesteaks. Fun atmosphere and tvs for sports are a plus! Our server was fantastic and recommended the wrap and it was delicious. She was really busy but she took great care to come back and check on us several times. Will go back but never for over priced grouper. We've had great grouper sand for less than 24 at Old Salty Dog and Dockside's. Go there for grouper instead. read more

Wife and I there at bar for first half of Superbowl. Good food and pleasant bartender Nicole!

We are on the Carnivore diet and came here for Buffalo wings. The wings were FANTASTIC, however as we discovered, about halfway through, the Buffalo sauce contains brown sugar. If you're trying to avoid sugar order the Crazy Hot wings instead. Nice waitstaff and fun environment. All the food we saw on other tables looks awesome read more

This place was new. Rebuilt where a old local restaurant used to be. The name is exactly that, Food & Beer. Name that simple, might as well check it out. The decor and interior was both open and welcoming. Server was very friendly and attentive. My sirloin was great, cooked tender. My only detraction , would be the amount of potatoes they put on the plate. Wayyyyy too much. I would still pay the entree price, with half the potatoes. Wife got the wedge salad and chili. She absolutely loved both and she is a very picky eater. Definitely a new place to frequent, when we come back. We visit the area 3-5× a year to see my parents, who live here in Venice. I am glad to see another local place for us to come to again. read more

First time in Venice and discovered food + beer on the drive to historic downtown. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The interior was bright and happy. We arrived in time for their brunch menu which had tons of tasty options. We tried the following: "Drop it like it's hot" benny- soooo delicious! Nashville hot chicken benedict. The heat level (spice) was spot on! Down the hatch burger- good burger, also with spice. Birria tacos- these were my fave! Succulent and juicy. Must try! Buffalo wings - nothing wow. Maybe they could have added more sauce. For cocktails we had a bloody Mary and mimosa. The bloody Mary was a meal in itself! Nice place. Worth a visit. read more

We went on trivia night; was told it was a 2 hour wait for a table indoor. We found two seats at the bar; the bar tender was excellent; the food came quickly and the legalize marinara was great! The Mac & cheese was sup bar to say the least. Very little cheese and the flavor was non existent. Overall it was a great experience besides the Mac and cheese. read more
