We dined here a few days ago, and WOW, the food was amazing! I had the maple-glazed salmon with sweet potatoes, and it was absolutely delicious. I was equally impressed by our server, Kara. She truly went above and beyond. When I asked if the brownies had nuts, since I do not care for them, she made a point to ask if I had a peanut allergy to make sure I would be safe. It showed a level of care that you rarely see. The owner also stopped by our table to greet us, which was a very nice personal touch. This is a eatery that is complete in all aspects, it's a pleasant as well as a unique experience to dining under a Tiki as well as enjoying the warm Florida weather, a drink or two and just about any dish from salads and soups to steaks, chicken and much more on a busy menu. We both enjoyed a great meal with good service outdoors in the tiki area but when the summer weather returns, I'm sure the bright, clean and welcoming interior seating area will be most appreciated. Been here a couple of time so I decided to leave a review finally. The menu is large and they have several options. The food is always decent but on this trip it took forever. The restaurant wasn't busy at all so it may have been a short staffed issue or something of that nature. The server was very pleasant when she did come to the table but she wasn't seen again after ordering until she dropped the check off. This was our 2nd time eating at Paradise Grill. We love this place. The staff is always super friendly. They have a really great menu. My husband is not a huge meat eater. They have some unique vegetarian options. He chose the Grilled Beet Rueben. He loved everything about this dish! They also have a Fried Eggplant Taco, that's excellent. I ordered the Fried Seafood Basket. It was delicious and a very big portion. Everything was delicious. Their fries are seasoned so well! This is fast becoming one of our favorite places. read more

Service at this restaurant was absolutely great. However, I ordered the ribs special and they were cold in the middle. They did take it back to reheat it but by then I just got a box to go. We visited on a Saturday morning around 11:30 am during snowbird season but were seated quickly. I had the pork tacos which is an ample portion. I chose a side of black beans and rice which was also very good. My wife got the chicken quesadilla Also very good and the guacamole is excellent and fresh. read more

Its unfortunate because I do enjoy the ambiance, however last night I had the worst prime rib ever. I should have been suspicious because they just started serving this. Could not eat more that a few bites. I actually had to spit it out because I couldnt swallow it. I was able to get a few small bites down but what a waist of money. Extremely tough. Stopped in for a late dinner on a busy day ( St Patrick's Day ) and could not have been more pleased with the level of service from Samuel. He greeted us warmly and gave a thorough overview of the specials. I suspect at that time of the day , Samuel was beyond tired but one would never know based on our experience. Samuel checked on us and had that warm , infectious smile through out the meal. I'm a frequent visitor to this establishment and have never experienced this level of service. August 9 2023 - 2 for a casual dinner - this is just an update. After a long day clearing up and cleaning out a parents home to put up for sale, we wanted to relax and not make anything or clean up any dishes. Our previous drop ins to Paradise Grill have been great experiences! This was a perfect example and in a few ways BETTER!! Service by Diane was AWESOME!!!! We got a house salad and a Caesar salad. We were not happy with the iceberg only salads in previous visits so my wife went for the Caesar salad since you have to have romaine!!! (smile) I forgot about that when I asked for the salad as a side......BUT this was a very variety packed little salad with multiple greens and also vegetables - onions, carrots, cucumbers and great greens!!!! Fresh and plentiful. 10/10 My wife was now jealous!!!! The Caesar was nice although she has commented the dressing was not that 'cheesy' or authentic. might be an inexpensive restaurant pack supplier. 8/10 My wife ordered the salmon with grits. (I think these might be called 'city' grits as they are grits with a bit of buttery-ness and cheese in them) The grits were very nice and extremely rich and creamy and certainly sets off all of the casein and dopamine triggers...... you can't stop spooning them in!!! Yes not healthy, but you would not order them if that was your goal. Enjoyable to the mouth and nose!!! 10/10 The salmon was cooked very nicely and the spices and flavoring was good.......except we had some concerns about the freshness and quality of the filet. It was fairly gamey and fishy smelling (after we had forked in a few few bites each of us?? (frown) We had had RAW inside cooked salmon just a few days previous and you would think we would earn a lesson........we sent that one back.... we were enjoying the live music too much and the time outside relaxing to ruin the vibe and the experience. (Now on guard for the next salmon affair and encounter!!) Foul on the field - 2/10 yech!!!! I have had a few various whole food and vegetarian without the cheese or eggs or whatever lacto or ovo vegetarian BS folks are claiming..... So onm this day I went for the "Veggie Melt" which is a Patty Melt (beef burger) except it has a veggie burger and I got no cheese. This is not some Impossible or Beyond Burger faux burger packed with canola oils and all kinds of unhealthy crap to make you think its a burger with weeping beat juice blood like a Halloween skit...........the Paradise veggie burger is a green vegetable possible home made or at least hand made unit. The sourdough bread was nicely toasted and baked and the burger was quite tasty. Some onions, mustard and tomatoes etc etc A VERY nice go to for me there.!! 9/10 Music was verging on TREMENDOUS, I toughly enjoyed the singing, the guitar craftsmanship, and the bass was "Ox"-like (he will know what I mean) Of course ample parking, fantastic service, wait staff and bus service pleasant and terrific!!! I have never encountered such a RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL Restaurant Manager in my life than Brenda the Manager at Paradise Grill in Nokomis, FL. I called regarding an issue with our dinner and she literally had the audacity to hang up on me 7 times!!! I decided to give this restaurant a chance for Mother's Day dinner. WOW what a HUGE mistake that was. They offered me a FREE Mimosa cocktail since it was Mother's Day (then actually charged us for it!). We ordered an appetizer that cost almost $14 which was literally 4 TINY mushrooms covered in some weird sauce - literally $3.50 for each tiny mushroom REALLY??? YES??? Then they brought out my dinner (Shrimp in a basket) but there was no basket and there were just 6 small pieces of shrimp which had absolutely zero flavor along with a tiny plastic disposable cup of coleslaw (it was less than 2" in diameter & 1" high - the kind typically used for sauce for takeout orders) along with a small bowl of yellow rice that was totally tasteless - it had absolutely no flavor at all! I couldn't believe we paid over $103 for this horrific dinner (and that doesn't include the generous tip that we left the waiter since he was the only positive thing about this entire experience). But the worst thing is - I didn't even get to explain this to Brenda because she cut me off and said "Unfortunately that's just TOO BAD" and refused to listen to me then hung up on me 7 times when I tried to call back to get a hold of the restaurant owner. Brenda refused to give me the owner's name (Mary Beth Hansen which I was able to get online) and she just kept hanging up on me. I could not believe it - she just kept hanging up on me over and over again!!! Brenda displayed ZERO respect for customers and should be fired and I will be reaching out to the owner to report her unethical and totally unprofessional behavior. I never would have written such a horrible review of this restaurant even if the food sucked (which it did), but after being treated this way by Brenda, the Manager of the restaurant, this needs to be exposed and Brenda needs to be terminated. I would stay away from this place with a 100 foot pole unless you want to get ripped off with bland and tasteless food where they charge on almost $14.00 for a tiny mushroom appetizer!!! We have been going to Paradise Grill since they 1st opened. First of all the ambience is great! They have this awesome Tiki Bar & live music!! Inside the decor is exactly what you want at a beach restaurant! The staff is wonderful ! We have so many favorites as far as food goes! Great seafood, yummy fresh delicious salads, Flatbreads, & omg the burgers!!!!! The owner Mary Beth is the best! She is a huge community supporter, always hosting fundraisers! Being from Buffalo, we love the Beef on Weck they serve. The beef is tender and the weck roll is perfect. You can they have great food because there is always a wait to get in. They usually feature real good entertainment. We prefer to sit in the back at the raised tables. Service is great. Even when they are busy the food comes out quickly. Most people search for a beach bar/restaurant along the waterfront but we found this one in a Nokomis Strip mall on the 41, avoiding the waterfront frenzy and traffic altogether. There's plenty of free offstreet parking - a nice touch when you're pretending you're at the beach. When standing outside, you'll have three choices to make. (1) Do you want to enjoy your eating and drinking experience in the outdoor tiki bar (2) do you want to step inside and watch sports in the bar area on their many TVs? (3)do you want to have a quiet dinner in a traditional restaurant setting? Over a period of time we have experienced all three sections of the restaurant. On this particular visit, the weather was a little bit cooler and it was a Sunday with plenty of football on TV, so we chose to sit in the bar area and watch the games. A typical sports bar vibe with many patrons cheering on their favorite teams. Since it was a bar food night for me , I ordered a sandwich and it was a terrific choice, the Cuban. Built on a fresh baked roll, it was meaty and juicy, a total hit. But not everything is heavy barfood. My wife ordered a dish on the lighter side. She enjoyed their seared ahi salad. Layered with plenty of fish, fresh and delicious, this dish could be one of the best values in Florida. Table service in the bar area was outstanding. It seemed like we got plenty of attention and our food and drinks came promptly. Whether it's a beach day or a golf day Paradise Grill is a worthwhile food and beverage stop in Nokomis. We arrived for a anniversary dinner celebration. Me and my wife brought our Golden Retriever, Brooklyn, along with us. We were immediately seated and asked to make a drink order, which we did. Our place was on the covered patio near the musician. He was a guitarist strumming nearby and singing tropical style songs - it was very pleasant. Our server Inia brought fresh water for our dog. Then when drinks arrived, our food order was given; we ordered 1/2 dozen Oysters, the Meatloaf Sliders and the Pot Roast dinner. Food arrived quickly and we enjoyed the laid back environment. Inia was very attentive and always had a smile on her face during our interactions - she was very efficient. She asked about dessert, when I mentioned that we had no room for dessert, but mentioned it was our anniversary, she surprised us with a hot brownie and a scoop of ice cream - that was nice of her. We could not eat it all. Overall this experience was a 10. We will be back again in the future, and we recommend this establishment to others. read more
