Back in town for the week and the arrogant, entitled bartender show is still the norm at the Lock & Key. Apparently the bipolar or moody, dismissive bartender in question is named Aaron. Wow... He was condescending, rude and obnoxious while insulting customers, dropping f-bombs and ignoring customers with his selective hearing. My wife doesn't even want to come here after his behavior on multiple occasions! I don't care how long your "valued" bartender has been with your company. This was our first time at Lock 'N Key. We sat out on the patio. It's pretty at night. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time, but there seems to be plenty of room in the bar area too, Our server, Ryan, was quick and efficient. Food was good. My husband had the Boomer sandwich with shrimp. It was a good size and he had to cut it up to eat it! I had the short rib protein bowl. Lots of rice and the short ribs were pretty good too. It came with a bourbon sriracha sauce that was tasty. I think it could have used a bit more sauce, but it was still good! read more

This place is an amazing fun open air bar. There were 10 of us that met at lock and key as soon as it opened. You need to get there early, If you want a seat at the bar. When ordering drinks at the bar they give you pull tabs you may have to pay full price or $.50 my wife daughter and I were not very lucky, but one of the couples we were with almost every drink they ordered was $.50. We also ordered oysters Rockefeller. They were pretty good a little heavy on the spinach and we had the seafood nachos that were yummy. In addition to the open air bar. I am so happy they accept reservations now! This is a very popular restaurant and the wait can be over an hour without reservations. We had reservations, were seated right away, and our server was right there! Very professional, friendly server. The restaurant is bright and has a coastal Florida vibe. There is a large bar and outdoor sitting area, too, which is fun and upbeat. I had the Tripletail blackened with rice and fresh grilled veggies. Wow! I'd never had tripletail before and it was great. Good sized portion, too. My husband had the Grouper Bites and it was a surprise - large portion and excellent taste and presentation! We are going back next week! First time at lLock and Key for lunch. The waitress, Heather, was the sweetest waitress and very polite knew her business recommended lunch for me and it was absolutely fabulous. My wife's wrap was the best wrap she's ever had! That says a lot because she eats wraps continuously. The food is absolutely delicious. Can't say enough about it! Fortunately, we were able to sit outside and it was absolutely beautiful. The wind sound of the Gulf the people walking by just gorgeous. Highly recommend this restaurant. We use to visit years ago before the original remodel. Never rushed out, staff always friendly and food portions were huge. Once the original remodel was done we came back twice and were not impressed. Staff had gone down hill and felt rushed out of the restaurant. We decided to go back last night and were amazed at the friendliness, portion size and smiles on everyone's faces. We decided to try the Lock and Key again having not been there in quite a while. Went there 1/23 and left feeling we paid a lot of money for below average food. The clam chowder was not hot. Their Philly sandwich was dry and tasteless, prime rib and the NY Strip were only warm and lacking in flavor. My vegetables and sweet potato fries were cold. My son didn't receive the side he ordered with his meal until he asked again. Service was not great. The one positive was the French onion soup was hot and tasty. We did not have a reservation so we ended up sitting at the bar. Our initial bar tender was SLOW as he seemed to be more concerned with the locals at the end of the bar. However the other bartenders were fabulous and took over. We ordered dinner and were told we could eat at the bar. Unfortunately 1 hr later we still did not have our dinners. We inquired and with 5 minutes a young lady came out to apologize and speak to us. Apparently they did not have a key ingredient in one of the dinners and would we like a substitution or different meal choice. A new meal choice was decided, but when we asked about why it took them over 1 hr to realize there problem? She apologized and said she'd oversee the new meal preps. Then within 2 minutes the manager came over to speak with us and again apologize for the inconvenience and promptly let us know that our bar bill for the night would be free of charge as this was uncommon for their restaurant. All we could say was Amazing customer service from a very apologetic restaurant staff. They were having a early Happy Hour, they handed me two cards to pull a tab to see what discount I was going to get and we ended up with free drinks and we ordered the Nachos with chicken the chicken was very flavorful some of the best Nachos we have had. Absolutely Amazing 5 !! We went with a group of 6 and we were able to be seated upon arrival, we were fully prepared to wait, but it was great that we were able to sit right down! Our waitress Sydney was so sweet, fun, and enjoyable, she made sure we were well taken care of from drinks, down to dessert! Now, the best part, the FOOD! I got the crab trap. Crab legs, andouille sausage, craw fish, corn, and potatoes. I was impressed. I love crab legs and it takes a lot to impress me with great ones, these... blew me away! Wow! The food is normally good here but we had four of five meals not good. Do not order the lobster roll! It was very overpriced and only had three small claws. My daughters was also all claw meat as well. Least now I can now tell you where the three best and absolutely worst lobster roll can be acquired. If you're light eaters it was enough for two. Not a pile of the shaved stuff but a well trimmed slice of prime, on toast points with a side of aujus. I took almost half home for later. I got the blackened grouper sandwich with fries and she got the shrimp salad plate .( didn't get a pic cause she dove in head first). She loved hers! My sandwich was impossible to pick up and eat. The hoagie bun was just on the plate cold and it did not enhance the sandwich one bit so I didn't even bother with it. The fish was well seasoned but a bit dry. Lots of lemon juice and tartar sauce fixed that, but I hated to have to do it. Fries were nice and hot which I love. Another touristy restaurant on the main road along the beach. Tons of staff working quickly to flip tables fast and keep the line moving. We opted to sit inside to avoid the wait and the heat. The carpet inside was filthy but we did see them try to vacuum what they could halfway through our dinner. Hard to believe it's 2023 and a restaurant still has carpet in their dining room while everything else seems pretty updated. It has a Dennys with a bar vibe inside. The food was surprisingly better than we expected after we sat down but nothing special. We started with the Ahi Tuna Nachos which were the perfect size to share. It would have been better on wontons rather than generic grocery store tortilla chips, but we still enjoyed it. The sauce that had wasabi in it was great and didn't pack too much of a punch. The coconut shrimp wasn't bad but the baked potato was pretty boring which only included butter and sour cream packets. Overall, not great, not terrible.
