The bat was packed, im sorry I didnt get to experience what I heard is the best service for happy hour but a tavle was just as good, our young server very pleasant. I had the Manasota Key Salad with grilled Chicken, and let me just say, I ate this around 3pm & could not have anything else for the rest of the day!!! What a salad!!! Gorgonzola with pecans, raisins, greens, the amount of chicken on my plate, WOWZA! SO DELICIOUS!!! My mojito wasnt bad either They even have valet parking, which looks ridiculous upon first glance, but I bet at 5 or 6 pm when traffic is really flowing, it makes perfect sense. We tried the dining room for a change for dinner. Positives: Good, friendly service Excellent tuna nachos Negatives: Filet not good. Ordered it medium rare and the exterior was charred black on half. Meat very dry as well. Not what one expects when they order a prime piece of meat. Also, menus were tattered, faded and unsightly. Not the best first impression when preparing to order imo. Great gulfside resturant in Englewood. Easy for a beach day then walk across the street for lunch or dinner. Seating inside or out and reservations are accepted. Service: very attentive and prompt. Food: menu is a mix bag, from starters to beach fare (sandwiches, burgers etc), to main course dinner items from seafood to steaks and prime rib. Our party of 4 started with the calamari, wich was traditional and very good, as well as the French fries smothered in truffle aioli and shredded parmesan, crazy good! Main courses were 3 good out of 4, winner; prime rib sandwich, great, halibut bites great and tacos, very good. Loser; seafood cakes, were nothing but filler and after a few bites, left on the plate (stay away). Overall the place was busy for a summer evening. Worth trying after a day on the beach. read more

Again, OUTSTANDING EXPERIENCE!! We were greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant by a smiling pleasant young lady. We asked to be sat inside (a nice break from the 93 degree temperature outside) and were led right to our table. Our server approached us immediately, asking for our drink order, but with their specials at the bar, we decided to walk up to the bar and get our own drinks. The restaurant was clean and was actually humming productively. Food was being run, tables were being cleaned, drinks were being served. Two of us opted for their version of a Grouper Reuben that they call the "Rocket"! DELICIOUS DELICIOUS DELICIOUS!!! Even the fries were hot and salted perfectly!! This sandwich IS CRAVE WORTHY! Our other party member ordered a Turkey/Bacon/Brie sandwich with fries that we were told was also outstanding! This was our first time at Lock 'N Key. We sat out on the patio. It's pretty at night. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time, but there seems to be plenty of room in the bar area too, Our server, Ryan, was quick and efficient. Food was good. My husband had the Boomer sandwich with shrimp. It was a good size and he had to cut it up to eat it! I had the short rib protein bowl. Lots of rice and the short ribs were pretty good too. We actually ate there each meal for the last 3 days we love the food so much. We sit inside because of the people crowded and car exhaust... The food is excellent, the atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable. The tables aren't crowded together so you aren't on top of each other. This place is an amazing fun open air bar. There were 10 of us that met at lock and key as soon as it opened. You need to get there early, If you want a seat at the bar. When ordering drinks at the bar they give you pull tabs you may have to pay full price or $.50 my wife daughter and I were not very lucky, but one of the couples we were with almost every drink they ordered was $.50. We also ordered oysters Rockefeller. They were pretty good a little heavy on the spinach and we had the seafood nachos that were yummy. In addition to the open air bar. Stopped by after an evening on the beach. Quiet on a Sunday night but well staffed. Our server, Jackson, was stellar and his recommendation to order the Triggerfish was incredible. My wife's wrap was the best wrap she's ever had! That says a lot because she eats wraps continuously. The food is absolutely delicious. Can't say enough about it! Fortunately, we were able to sit outside and it was absolutely beautiful. The wind sound of the Gulf the people walking by just gorgeous. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great food and experience. One of my favorite restaurants in englewood. My dad loves the lobster tail dinner.

We use to visit years ago before the original remodel. Never rushed out, staff always friendly and food portions were huge. Once the original remodel was done we came back twice and were not impressed. Staff had gone down hill and felt rushed out of the restaurant. We decided to go back last night and were amazed at the friendliness, portion size and smiles on everyone's faces. We are locals as well as my parents and we are excited to add this spot back on our list of places to eat at year round again. read more

The tacos, 2 for $20 came out way too salty, and the queso on the side it comes with tastes like generic nacho cheese you get at a highschool football game. The Cuban sandwich, hard to eat. I asked if the air could be turned down because there is no way I would order food with the air blowing down on us. It was FREEZING. We decided to try the Lock and Key again having not been there in quite a while. Went there 1/23 and left feeling we paid a lot of money for below average food. The clam chowder was not hot. Their Philly sandwich was dry and tasteless, prime rib and the NY Strip were only warm and lacking in flavor. My vegetables and sweet potato fries were cold. My son didn't receive the side he ordered with his meal until he asked again. Service was not great. The one positive was the French onion soup was hot and tasty.
