After a day of shark tooth hunting my friend recommended stopping here for a bite. I love mom and pop, different places so I was all in. I am so glad we gave this place a shot! It is tucked away and you could easy miss it. The nice lady at the window was amazingly friendly, offering her advice and sharing her favorites. She was so passionate about her product, just adding to my excitement. We ordered, payed, and went to the table covered area behind the restaurant building. She also offered if we were hot we could sit in her other restaurant not far from the building, Mad Salads (will try that place next time!) She walked our orders out to us in white bags with our names on them. Everything was perfect! My dog was the pretzel bun dog with mustard, onions, and relish. Corn nuggets on the side. I could not have been happier! My friends were just as pleased with their dogs and milkshakes. We all voted that we would all return every time we are in the area! Drive thru or walk up. Had an urge for a Chicago dog and revisited this hot dog stand in Venice, not much has changed at this hot dog stand. Dogs are very small smothered with bread roll kind of overwhelming the taste. Haven't figured out why some of these spots cut corners on size of frankfurter and still over charge for a lesser quality product. People go to hot dog stands for hot dogs. Suggest that spot consider adding to the menu an updated larger dog for folks. read more

Roll up to a massive menu of options ... followed by massive meats in rolls. There is some outdoor seating or you can drive thru and take it to go. Probably best if you get to your meat quickly so your buns don't get too soggy. The prep was quick and the servings were healthy. read more

Very overpriced hot dogs and cheese sauce. My husband and I visited for lunch. The hot dogs are extremely small for $4.50. The cheese sauce doesn't taste like cheese and the buns have a strange sweet taste to them. Disappointing after wanting to try it for some time. Won't be back. read more

Cute little drive through hot dog joint, but don't let the walk up or drive up stop you. This place is legit. Perfectly steamed buns and the right amount of toppings. I can't remember the name but one was fried and the crunch was out of this world. I loved that the casing had a crunch but inside was juicy and filled with flavor. read more

As a Native Chicagoan and former Vienna Sausage reseller I consider myself a bit of an expert on the TRUE "Chicago Dog", I can confirm that this is the real deal from the Poppy Seed Bun to the Neon Green Relish. This was by far THE BEST tasting Chicago Dog I've had outside of Chicago. Mad Dogs is a drive-thru stand and if you blink you'll miss it, there's limited outdoor seating and parking so in staying with Chicago tradition you'll be eating in your car. The outdoor area provided shade and was clean. I was very impressed with the girl that took and prepared my order she was friendly and my order was accurate, I even got napkins and ketchup. The order of French Fries were hot and it was a nice size order unlike others that barely full the container. They provide you with what they call a VIP Card which earns you a free hot dog. I can honestly give Mad Dogs a 10 out of 10 it's definitely worth the trip. ENJOY read more

This place is the best! Make sure you try the Manhattan Special espresso coffee soda too. I had the European dog which I upgraded to a Vienna frank. And I found out a good 'not on the menu' tip, if you like NJ Italian hot dogs, they will make that too. I will be getting that next time. read more

This place has the best customer service. The hot dogs are all beef and you can have all kinds of creative dogs from a traditional to a Cobb Salad Dog. They must have at least 30 different creations.They are very accommodating to make them keto/ low carb friendly too. they even give my dogs a hot dog treat! love this place and their new shop, Mad Salads too. read more

Whatttttt gluten free hot dog buns?!!! This place won me over immediately just with this, plus the buns were SO good. Anywho, besides that, the Chicago style dog was on point! And the Coney Island one was as well. Their menu and choices are endless and you can customize anything the way you want. I liked their combo pack choices too - we got the "partner pack" which was 4 hot dogs, 2 drinks, and fries. PLENTY of food and we took some home with us. This place was super busy in the drive thru while we enjoyed our meal at the picnic tables. The workers were working their butts off, running food out to cars and to the people at the tables. Even when they got a few orders mixed up, they apologized profusely and had them fixed super fast. I believe it was maybe the owner or manager who later came out to see how we were all doing. I think that's great she took the time to do that. Great spot, great employees, excellent food. Definitely check it out! read more

Very cute place! Just know that it's really only a drive through and then a very small seating area (this wasn't a problem as we ate in our car with the AC and radio). I'm giving it four stars because the dogs were pretty good, what you'd expect when you order it, and plenty of toppings. I got the New York dog and the Chicago dog with fries and onion rings. The dogs were a good serving size but the fries and rings didn't have any seasoning so you really leaned in their sauces. Overall: Good Priced dogs for an average day :) read more

We are from Chicago and these folks do a fantastic job. These dogs are authentic Chicago style dogs. They have all the correct vendors and they assemble them correctly (if you know Chicago dogs this makes all the difference in the world). Plus, these folks are the nicest folks! They truly care about their product and their customer. Now I know I said they do excellent Chicago Dogs but... The New York accent flies through that window and the lady behind the counter is very friendly and funny. I'm very picky and we'll be back! read more

I want this small business to succeed but the hot dogs are so small for the price. They also have the tip option at the end which makes me never want to come back again. Because I just don't like the guilt trip to tip at fast food. Maybe lower the price and people will order more to make up for the tip? read more

It came with two sides and I chose fries and dirty rice. I could also choose a can of soda from a couple of coolers. Even though I said my order was for here it was served in a to go bag. Of course, I've seen that before. Everything was piping hot, but I was a little surprised. Check out my picture. The portions of fries and rice were quite small. The burger was surprisingly heavy on a slightly soggy bun. I really didn't taste the small pieces of bacon, but the BBQ sauce and jalapenos got my attention. The burger was so heavy that overall, I was quite stuffed with OK food. Like lots of new joints the jury is still out. I was surprised there were no boneless wings and predict that will change. I'll give them a few weeks to get their act together. Would I visit again? Yup.

Pricing wasn't that shocking coming from NYC, though others on the trip I was with were a bit taken aback by $15 margs and $18 mojitos and $7 beers. Manhattan to me lol. But the drinks are good (skinny 'rita and coconut mojito's ftw, and I did happen to try their Blackened Mahi Sandwich with lettuce, tomato, onion, creole mustard remoulade on a toasted brioche bun. Very tasty, really enjoyed it! The Pointe, while capitalizing on it's prime location, serves up some tasty sustenance.
