The good: Seating is plentiful and we were able to sit right away. They have both booths and large tables for larger parties if needed. Service was nice. The bbq sauces are some of the best I've ever had. The barbecue beans are delish and sweet, if you like a sweet barbecue bean. The cornbread was really good. The menu is quite large with tons of options. Cool atmosphere inside. And bathrooms are clean. The - could be better: my bbq brisket sandwich was extremely dry to the point some of the pieces i couldn't even bend the meat. There was very little bbq sauce on it so thankfully i loved the bbq sauces so i drenched it. All the sauces are kept on the tables for easy access. The okra was not crispy. The ribs looked good on the plate turned upside down but once turned over the tops were burnt and the meat was also very dry. Also the house salad, i had to ask for cheese and croutons, it came with one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber. So the house salad is quite bland just a heads up. Will try again, hopefully just an off day with the meats.

It tastes like a quality chicken pot pie with actual goodies, none of this whole farmland of potatoes, carrot, and peas plus some broth and butter and a shred of chicken tail and calling it a "chicken soup." This was a hearty soup with chunks of white meat chicken and soft dumplings. Basically chicken dumpling soup as they say, vs potatoes cube soup. It is a must have. I really did myself a disservice and only got a cup.... on my own vacation after working throughout the entire pandemic on-site. The gulf shrimp platter (I got blackened) absolutely delicious. I love the Bourbon Sriracha sauce and used it as a dipping sauce for my fries. You can also never go wrong with hearty mashed potatoes and their gravy. My fiance got some brisket pork combo (in the entrees section) plus mac and cheese side... so good!! This is a must go to place, and the staff are super pleasant. Zero complaints from me!

I was SO happy to be back. I have seriously missed their tacos! I stopped by Friday for the lobster tacos, and they did not disappoint. Big, juicy, flavorful pieces of lump lobster claw meat that you can actually sink your teeth into - so, so good! I couldn't decide on a side, so naturally I had both: the pineapple coleslaw (pretty much the only coleslaw I'll eat!) and the chips. And my Lime in the Coconut margarita was delicious. But Nokomo's is about more than the food. I missed the whole vibe - happy, fun, relaxing, and absolutely breathtaking. That waterfront sunset key view is one of a kind and pretty tough to beat. The staff was friendly and attentive as usual, and I also noticed they paved the parking lot! Such a nice improvement and much easier to walk across. While I was taking updated menu pictures, I noticed my old menu photos on Yelp - For the most part, the menu has stayed pretty consistent. What really surprised me was that most prices have only gone up about $3 over the past two years. The lobster tacos are the exception - they've gone up about $8. I've heard they basically break even on them, and all I can say is THANK YOU for keeping them on the menu because they are my favorite! While sitting at the bar, I also saw some oysters go by that looked amazing. They were from Louisiana. And then there was a cheesesteak that was stuffed so generously it looked big enough for two people! I can't wait to try some of those next time. If you haven't been to Nokomo's Sunset Hut, you don't know what you're missing. Come treat yourself to delicious food, a cold drink, live music and those beautiful, laid-back Southwest Florida vibes. And do yourself a favor - go before season gets into full swing, while you can still get in without an hour-long wait! I'm already looking forward to going back for the grouper tacos, along with some of my other favorites - the Aloha Salmon, Caribbean Salmon, Salmon Caesar, or really anything salmon. GET A PARKING SPOT in the gravel lot so my wife could hobble in with her bone on bone knee (getting 'fixed any day now) Service was awesome, hostess fantastic, our server was conversational and fantastic, and the beverages/drinks (the draw for my wife) were generous and tasty as usual. I am a little disappointed at the sides serving "cup" (black beans, yellow rice, and edamame) while the online menus does not post prices they are a little bit more expensive now this year and looking at my pictures from the past a little more diminutive? I do see I substituted and they made up a BEAN taco for me one time so maybe I will switch back to that creation.
