I walked on 6:30pm Saturday 9/6/25 store was empty all employees were in the back. I waited 5 minutes and 3 of the employees looked at me. No one came out acknowledged me. This was my first time in a Jersey Mike's. The customer service was exceptional! I ordered a gluten free sandwich due to an allergy. The employee was very careful with cross contamination. He took the time to wipe everything down, including the meat slicer. Both employees working there went above and beyond to accommodate my allergy. Utter chaos. Order not fulfilled properly. Hot subs done and placed them directly over cold bottled water. I suggested that they should finish my cold subs first. 10 mins later I asked the server again and she said "I'm aware of it" with a "so what" look. I asked for the manager's phone number and also asked for a full refund. They basically didn't have a manager in store and run by a bunch of unorganized kids. First time customer of Jersey Mike's, having a BOGO coupon. The phone app made ordering easy and it was great that they offer curbside pick up. As I was getting into the car to drive to the store, I got a call from them, informing me they were out of the bread we had chosen. She asked whether I'd like to substitute another bread type or cancel the order - very good customer service! Pick up was very prompt and easy too. As for the food, our sammies were both good. Wifey had the portobello mushroom sub and I had the Big Kahuna cheesesteak sub. Both were very good although I was missing the heat from jalapeños in my sandwich. I have been to this location twice. The first time was a disappointment, because they added extra onions versus no onions {I requested no onions). My second order I had to go. There's only 1 american sandwich I like in this world (literally, I only like banh mi otherwise), and Jersey Mikes version is good! #13 with mayo, and trust me, you have to get their mayo (even though it's high macro) because so far nothing is as tasty. The best among the sandwich chains. When it comes to authentic sub sandwiches, they can't be beat. Try the #13 Original Italian on white, "Mike's Way" and your getting as genuine a sub sandwich as you'll find anywhere. I'm not sure what the negative reviews here are about - likely from some issues with opening and training in the very beginning - but I have always had a pleasant experience here! I actually never ate at Jersey Mike's until well into the pandemic when I was going for walks all the time and figured I'd give it a try after walking by for the millionth time. Thank goodness. Delicious sandwiches that never disappoint! The chipotle chicken and philly cheesesteak are our favorites, and sometimes we'll change it up with the cold turkey sandwich. They're always well made and so good. The service here is outstanding. Yes, there are lunch rushes where you may have to wait. Sometimes longer than you want, but the staff is always clearly doing their best and stressed out trying to catch up. The owner is also so incredibly friendly from our brief interactions, and I have seen him interact with other customers so patiently in ways that I rarely see nowadays. The Jersey Mike's in Newcastle is the BEST location to go to. You just feel welcomed when you go in there. The workers engage with you and get to know you after a while. This next part I'm going to talk about isn't about the food but please continue reading. The teamwork and communication and dedication that each and every worker has in there is AMAZING! Like seriously, tell me how many times have you gone into an eating establishment and have seen the workers crazy busy, with a line, online orders popping tickets out like someone won the lottery, and the OWNER is the one who is slicing fresh tomatoes, writing out orders or asking what he can do to help the team. THAT is what makes the Newcastle location so amazing. Dave (pretty sure that's his name), the owner, is a rockstar. One time I went in there and he was behind the counter, I asked him what was he doing working, he then told me that one of his employees needed the day off, so HE came in to work. One other time that is pretty amazing, was when we recently had our little snow storm, my family and I went in to Jersey Mike's in Newcastle to grab some lunch, and there were just a couple of workers and I had asked if it was just the two of them working and the worker said, yes it's just us but Dave, the owner, said he would come in if they got busy to help out. He also owns one in Bothell I believe. Moral of the story, even if sandwiches aren't really your thing, there are other options that they have, and who wouldn't want to go and support a business whose owner takes so much pride in his business and respects his workers as people and respects that everyone has lives outside of work and is willing to step up whenever he is needed. Oh, one last thing, on March 31st, they are going to donate 100% of the days proceeds are going to be donated to Seattle Children's Research. I've always been dining with their competitors but decided to try them out, since the local leader posted photos of their grand opening and encouraged local to support them. The 2 stars is only about their customer service at this Newcastle location. Buying some sandwiches on my way home the other day. Parking was convenient, right up front. Upon walk in, the restaurant looks clean and bright and I was the only customer. There were 3 staffs behind the counter playing with cellphone. None looked up or greeted. Um...maybe that's how the young ppl are now days. When asked for recommendations, one just pointed at the menu above. After ordering, the sandwiches were put together quickly and neatly. Of my 5 mins there, no greeting, no conversation with customer and no thank you at the end?? The sandwiches quality and taste were good. Good food as always, but the guy inside was rather rude. I ordered a sandwich for pickup, and he asked who the sandwich was for. I told him the name of who was going to be picking it up, which was a different name than on my card. When we went to pick it up he couldn't find an order under the name I provided. Instead, he acted rude and annoyed when I offered the name that was on my the card used, which happened to be the right name. I know usually the customer is actually at fault, but in this case, this employee clearly messed up and acted like it was a bother to do his job properly. read more

Both times I've ordered from here (both in store pickup and DoorDash) I've received beef instead of chicken- I don't eat beef. I specifically have chosen #42, which is written on the bag, and instead of chicken which is #42 it's beef (which is #43). He went above and beyond by asking us about our plans over the weekend and we should've invited him to come with us because he was so incredible. Not to mention, the sandwiches he made SLAPPED! Was super excited about this location opening. Fat chance. The entirety of my shop was disappointed when I returned with a late lunch that was seemingly slow with purpose. The man behind the counter was slow with deliberateness that would shock you. He looked at me not once or twice but 3 times in the eyes and slowly wiped counters and cleaned minute crumbs off there counter. He took such extra slow measures and I was told he was one of the slowest workers by another co worker of his. Still waiting at 16 minutes? For 3 sandwiches? Alone but for one other in the shop? I was here ordering for my husband, the owner(or the store manager) was still training one of his guy and just leave me there without saying anything for a while and then when I order, he just couldn't get my order right I showed him on my phone what I was ordering, he just didn't get it and so I just repeat and he told me " you are too much..... yo are killing me ..... you didn't say that" with a vey frustrated attitude..... for me I'll never cOme back here just for the service.
