Hey everyone, sorry about Frank B's scathing review in September 2017. I had a really good experience. Yesterday we discovered yellow jackets in an exterior wall of our house. I sent an email to Marvin last night. Today, since I didn't hear back yet, I called him at 9am, and he answered. He said that he had not checked his email, but he could come out today. At 10, I called him, he answered, and said he could be there at 11. He showed up on time, figured out how to kill the bees, and in 2 hours, the job was done. He knows his stuff. If there was anything I could suggest, it would be for him to tell customers to call him directly, and not rely on email. Being a small business owner, I get it. Email can be overwhelming. The bottom line: he is very knowledgeable, personable, efficient, and his prices are way more reasonable than the competition. I hope I don't have stinging insect problems again, but if I do, I will certainly call him to take care of it. read more

We had a HUGE wasp's nest in our bushes so we called Jerry The Bee Guy. It wasn't difficult to schedule a time, he was straight-forward and all about the bees, friendly and professional. He took his time and even found another nest we didn't know about it. The cost was reasonable for his time and specialized service. read more

I emailed Jerry the Bee Guy (Marvin) late last night expecting he would respond the next day and be out the day after that. Nope. He responded the next morning and was at my house in the afternoon. I may have been lucky and he happen to be in the area. Either way, he was great, price was reasonable, he was fast, and stuck around a little while to catch the hornets that made it out of the nest. I called him to ask about beekeeping, and he doesn't know me from anyone, and he spent a good bit of time just pointing me in the right direction. Bee Leaving is believing! Called Jerry (aka "Marvin" think "The Dread Pirate Roberts") around 1pm about a wasp problem underneath my home. He met me at my home within an hour and left about 90 minutes later having removed the nest and re screened the foundation vent. The price was about what I expected (based upon his website) and the experience was very satisfactory. read more

I had a few yellow jackets buzzing around my garage and I called Marvin (Jerry's replacement).... ended up I had a 4 foot wide nest in my attic and they were using the wall to get into the garage..... it was his biggest nest of the season! He was thorough , fast , full of info, and I learned a ton about yellow jackets along the way. Took a couple hours. I called Marvin after noticing a wasp nest starting to form under the eaves of my front porch. He was able to come out the next day and had the nest down in no time. It took only a few more minutes for him to catch the queen. The brief entomology lesson afterwards was an added bonus! My experience with Marvin (the new "Jerry the Bee Guy") was absolutely top notch. He removed a ground nest wasp from under a wood pallet in our backyard quickly (under an hour) and professionally, with no chemicals! What really sets Marvin apart from the average exterminator, though is that he is so knowledgeable about the insects he works with. I had a nest exterminated in a similar spot two years ago, and was of course frustrated (though not surprised) that they had returned. Marvin not only removed the nest, he educated me about the habits of the wasps and told me why they had come back, and gave me tips for future prevention. Oh yes, and he provided all this extra expert knowledge for less money than the previous exterminator. He's also a nice, friendly guy, who has found a way to make money off of his knowledge and passion for insects, and you can feel genuinely good about supporting him and his business. I had what ended up being a nest of German Yellow Jackets inside the structure of the eaves of my house. I called Jerry the Bee Guy and he quickly scheduled a time to come out. Ends up that Jerry is retired now and Marvin is now Jerry the Bee Guy. Marvin showed up on time and was very friendly. He was very informative and you could tell he enjoyed his work. I felt the rate he charged was very reasonable. I highly recommend him if you've got a swarm you need removed in the Seattle area. read more

Marvin took over for Jerry and he uses completely poison free methods of bee and wasp and yellowjacket removal. He came to our house because we thought we had a bee hive in a tree next to our front door. It turned out the bees just loved the tree, so he (at our request) cut down the tree for us in his bee suit. His price was fair ($100 an hour, with travel) and he was friendly and informative. And he came the same day I called him. I would definitely recommend him to anyone with bee/wasp problems. read more

Marvin was great! Thank you again! I emailed him early one morning about a couple of nests in the trunk of one of our cars and he was here the next day! I needed them taken care of quickly before a BBQ and he was willing to work with me. He also took care of a bee problem we were having in our front yard. Some angry yellow jackets built a huge nest (almost the circumference of a basket ball!) on the side of my garage in the stairway to my house (don't ask how we missed this being there for probably 2 months... and my husband is allergic to wasp and bee stings. They must have just hatched a whole bunch of baby yellow jackets because there were suddenly hundreds of them swarming around. Needless to say we needed it removed. I called Marvin and he came the same day! It cost $160, which was a fair price based on another company that I found that charged $250. Had I called an exterminator, they would have sprayed it with poison and left the nest... and then all the worker wasps who were out hunting bugs would have come back to find their home gone... and then find my husband and sting him. But Marvin came all protected in bee keeper gear, removed the nest, vacuumed up a bunch of them, then caught the rest in the net. He was a pleasant guy who was nice to talk to and gave me some good info about yellow jackets, wasps, and bees. I hope I don't have to call him again because I never want to need yellow jacket removal again, but I'd be more than happy to hire him :) read more

I heard from many people: "If you've got bee's, Jerry's your guy." So I call him, and texted him, and attempted to reach him on Facebook. After a few days, I did hear back by text. Very short curt sentences asking for a repeat of information that had been in my original voicemail. I asked for next steps and heard nothing. And then more nothing. Marvin came out to our house quickly even though this is apparently the busy time of year for yellow jackets. They made a nest in our walls, then broke through the drywall in my son's closet, and swarmed the room! He explained his approach, effectively removed the nest without any chemicals, and left our place as clean as could be. He taught us how to try and prevent this from happening again. By the time he finished, it was pretty late; you could tell he had a long day, but he was friendly and diligent. Definitely would recommend. read more

We had a very busy, underground wasp nest in our garden. Marvin was able to get rid of the nest in less than an hour without pesticides and for less money than other competitors. He was friendly and informative and I learned things I never knew about wasps (the strange marks on my fence are from wasps peeling it to make their paper nests!) Marvin did a great job locating and removing two nests of yellow jackets from the exterior framing of our house. Also helped with a neighbor's yellow jacket nest in a compost pile. Uses no poison, accurately locates and removes the critters. He will move pollinators like bumblebees to new locations. He is very busy in July, but his work was great. Recommend a morning phone call to make arrangements. read more

He came a few days later, and promptly and easily removed the bees within an hour. He gave us a fun science lesson once he had removed the next and put it in this mesh bucket. Found him online. He was quick to respond. Just what I needed because I had wasps coming through my ceiling!! Very scary. He came and removed a huge nest along with hundreds of bees. I had Marvin out to clean up a couple of bees nests near the roof of my house. He knew right away that those bees were harmless and not the ones that had swarmed my gutter cleaners a few days earlier. He quickly pinpointed the cause of that -- some wasps in my eaves. He explained to me more about those wasps and how to distinguish them from the harmless variety of bees, as well as what to do to prevent them from returning. He quickly got rid of them (at a very reasonable rate), and was friendly in the process. Would definitely use him again. read more

I had high hopes for Marvin (Jerry the Bee Guy) after reading these reviews. I called him on a Sunday morning to see if he had appointments available for the following Thursday to remove a yellow jacket nest above our front porch. He asked me to email him the information because he was out on a job and assured me that he would get back to me by the next morning to schedule my appointment for Thursday. When I had not heard back from him by Tuesday, I emailed again (after double checking his website to make sure I had the correct email address). Still no response, so I called again on Wednesday. Marvin told me he was very busy and hadn't had time to respond to his emails. He went on and on about what a crazy bee season it is and how he's swamped. But he assured me that he would have time for me on Thursday and told me to email him the information one last time. I had serious doubts about whether he would actually check his email, but I agreed and emailed him a third time. No surprise, he never responded. So I called one of his competitors and was able to get the situation taken care of two days later. I am sure Marvin is great at his job (given how busy he is and the other good reviews on Yelp), but he's horrible about scheduling/logistics. All he needed to say was that he was too busy to help me. I would have understood and called someone else right away. Instead he made excuses and empty promises to get me on his schedule and then failed to follow through. read more
