Found a broken duct in my crawlspace that was well beyond my ability to repair. Found these guys very highly rated on Yelp - they did a free visit for an estimate (2 guys spent a while in the crawlspace assessing the work and provided a detailed explanation of what was needed). Seems the original install (early 2000's furnace retrofit to a 1950's home) was poorly done and crammed too many systems into a tight space, making it really hard to properly connect the duct. Photo shows what they were working with. It took a little while to get the estimate and it was not cheap (about $1k for duct repair) but they were able to come out for the work fairly quickly and billed less due to not having to spend as much time as estimated. Provided before/after photos, thorough work, friendly and patient explanation of the work done. Would hire again.

We had been hearing some high-pitched squealing sounds last week, which usually means a bearing is going out then this last weekend the furnace stopped. We contacted them after being told it would be most likely a week before someone could get out and a friend recommended better air Northwest, and they were able to come out within three hours and give us an estimate and the estimate isn't the cheap solution that I wanted explained why and showed us the error codes. Great service made a lot of sense branded truck friendly. Tech really enjoyed having them come out. We'll probably buy the furnace from them.

Justin attempting to have review removed

Oct 11 2025 Update for anyone thinking about hiring better air today : yesterday Justin, co owner , posted slanderous statements on bbb in an attempt to pressure me to remove my yelp post . Justin claimed 1: that his employee ,cory, worked in my furnace , found a failed part, attempted to replace it and was not able to source the part . Where is the screen shot of the calls made by Cory to his parts supplier at the time he was invited into my home ? Where is the screen shot of the 'failed' part ? Justin was unhappy that I immediately contacted him with this horrible customer service experience with a demand letter that he return immediately and do the job better air was contracted to do, and to compensate my tenant for wasting both our times with a Starbucks gift card for my tenant . Well that is absolutely true. To this day Justin continues to stand by his bait and switch activity , has never apologized for coming invited into my home to perform a safety check on my gas furnace and instead never touching it and offering to sell me a new furnace . This is what you can look forward to if you choose better air . Justin , you are not right bro !!! Not right . Apologize and move on . NO ONE APPRECIATES YOU WASTING THEIR TIME . And stop lying !!!

I spent over $600 for nothing, and to tell me in order to fix the leak cost over $6,000. Will not recommend this company.

Everyone has been really great to work with. May 2024 - I finally scheduled our annual maintenance. They sent James out. He was fantastic. A wealth of knowledge, polite and professional. I signed up for the annual maintenance plan to save money. He made good recommendations based on my needs and concerns of my allergies. Much appreciated! 2026 update - our heat pump stopped working and needed replacement parts. I paid for them to send a tech to diagnose it and they followed through with the work which is under the 10-year warranty. Tech, Hagen was very nice and professional and made sure to answer all of my questions. Kudos to the office staff, Brittny, Erin and everyone who took my calls while I was eagerly waiting for parts & repair. They treated me very kindly and proactively communicated each step of the way. I hope that this fix lasts a long time, or at least until we upgrade to a newer, more environmentally friendly unit.

Their tagline is "there is no beating CM heating" but it should be "no beating like the one CM…read moreHeating gives your wallet." $600 for a regular maintenance and replace parts under warranty for a unit they originally installed incorrectly. They are actually very friendly and customer service oriented when you call them, but not surprisingly their business model is built on grossly high margins and milking as much labor revenue as they can. They installed our air conditioning a few years back and connected the wires wrong. It seemed to work fine but would shut off on days when the temperature got too high. On my first "complimentary" service call, the technician noticed the install was wrong and fixed the wiring. It worked fine. Fast forward a few years to my first paid service call. They set an appointment and then cancelled the evening before and had me reschedule. First world problems but it is hard to arrange your schedule to be around for the service window - so I complained about the inconvenience. On the day of the actual service, two parts were found to be "out of spec" and while the parts were under warranty, they still charged 30 minutes of labor to install them. It rubbed me the wrong way because the call itself is already expensive ($379). That price includes a filter replacement, a cheap one-month filter that doesn't even properly fit the unit. I asked if I could skip the filter and have the price reduced. Of course the answer was no. So they are getting great high-margin revenue from the call, but they couldn't resist tacking on another $160 to replace "out of spec" parts that probably weren't needed. Everything was working. The technician was nice. He even called management to ask if he could waive the service charge. See his notes in the picture I shared. Management valued $160 over any future business. Compare that to The Garage Door Works, who similarly missed an appointment with me and proactively offered a discount on a new door installation as an apology. Or Les Schwab Tire Centers, who fixed a flat tire for free on a tire they didn't even sell me. Just a courtesy. At the end of the day it wasn't the dollar amount, but the fact that they would rather squeeze another 30 minutes of labor out of me than extend a courtesy after two sub-optimal experiences to earn my continued business. It says a lot about what kind of company this is. I left a message for the manager, voiced my frustration, and gave them the option to call me back if they felt they could help. No call. So I wanted to share this with you. It's not unusual for these companies to have bloated rates/fees/prices, but many have the decency to earn your business by going above and beyond, especially because they know how much margin they are already getting on things like service calls. CM behaves differently. My advice is to check out Greenwood Heating and Home Services or Aurora Plumbing instead. I haven't tried Greenwood yet but I personally had a great experience with Aurora Plumbing, and when you shop in their store they have experts who actually want to help you solve a problem. Do business with people that demonstrate customer service through their actions and not their marketing and customer service call scripts. Let me know who you think I should use going forward.

I needed the airflow balanced in the system so all the rooms were the same temperature. After calling my current HVAC company and finding out they couldn't help me, I started looking. Turns out not many do this. Fortunately for me, Legacy One Heating does. After talking with Karl and having him look at the system, he came up with a plan to resolve this. I scheduled an appointment, and two very professional and caring men came out to fix the problem I was having. Collin and Brian are excellent! We talked about what they were going to do and how they would balance everything. They listened to my thoughts about labeling corresponding components, and went to work. After they made the changes to the ducts, they went around and balanced the airflow coming out of each one so that the airflow evenly covers the whole house. It's a tri-level, so that's three floors with ducting. Lots to consider when balancing the system. I have to say that I am thrilled with how well the system is now working! I no longer need to wear a sweatshirt when I go into my office to work. It's not cold anymore! In fact, there are no longer any cold spots in the house. Just even temperatures throughout. Needless to say, Legacy One is now my HVAC partner. They do everything around a furnace. They are interested in what I have to say, and they are true professionals. Collin and Brian, thank you for what you did for me! This is a huge improvement!

tldr - if it's related to HVAC, call the installer of your HVAC system if possible…read more I called Green Bear to take a look at an HVAC system (on second floor) that was leaking water on the 1st floor ceiling (due to AC condensation). They sent someone over, who didn't really open the HVAC system panel much. I didn't seem confident that this would fix it. But they recommended to fix the drain pan inside the evaporator coil box, which they said was much more expensive. For clearing the drain pipe and gluing a loose pipe, which didn't actually fix the main problem, they still billed me $300 - diagnostic fee ($99) + 1 hour ($199) - (there's a 3% credit card fee, but they accept checks) 4 or 5 hours later, there was dripping again. I ended up calling Bob's, they sent 2 technicians who knew what they were doing (they opened the panel properly), they found and fixed the issue - it did not involve replacing a drain pan. Bob's only charged me the diagnostic fee of $175 and did the job right (compared to $300 that Green Bear charged)

It turns out that they were also very expensive, so I reached out to AirPro's again to see if they could come check it out. Unfortunately, I didn't submit the warranty registration almost 10 years ago for my Lennox heat pump so I had to pay out of pocket for the replacement (Tip: submit your warranty paperwork otherwise you'll pay out of pocket for any repairs, even under the warranty period)! However, the guys at AirPro's were able to confirm the issue and ordered and installed a replacement part for half of what another HVAC place wanted. They were also able to install the new part and service my furnace and heat pump in a little over an hour since they had two guys working on it. Everyone I have dealt with at AirPro's throughout the years have been courteous and explained everything in detail. I've also never had them try to sell me on something I didn't need. The bottom-line is that AirPro's is still my preferred HVAC company after 10 years of working with them. They're quick, efficient and cost-effective. I'm planning on using them again in a few years once it's time to replace my aging HVAC system.
