In related news, I later found out that asking adding a surcharge for debit transactions is actually illegal per U.S. Federal law. Good to know. Pro's - Basic work seemed to be done well and at a price that was competitive with others I contacted at least for the basic service. - Communication was prompt. - After some re-scheduling on their part, the team did the work swiftly and efficiently. - Most of the terms were clear in advance, using Yelp Projects. Con's - This is a fairly shiesty corner of the home maintenance world. Many providers seem to give you a low-ball estimate to get in the door and then upsell significantly. - Envirosmart is not an exception. - The initial quote was $200. This included scoping the ducts and doing the negative pressure clean-out. - Onsite, they then upsold me to $670 for a more thorough brushing of the vents, sanitation, and some other ancillary services. - They were only modestly well-organized. They called the day-of to reschedule because of a conflict with internal training. They also confirmed a different time than I had originally scheduled. It was the difference of a 9 to 11am original window and a 2:30-3pm arrival. - The Yelp Project communication could have been clearer. They did not specify whether they were calling to quote me or coming to do the service! Amid all this and with some clarification and flexibility on our part, we worked it out. I would have appreciated either a discount or additional service for the delay. None was proffered. I did not go ahead with the upsell as I had already gotten quotes for less from other providers with somewhat more transparent pricing. I think the work they did appeared fine. See attached pics. Your guess is as good as mine which are before and which are after! They did not specify when they sent them to me and email took off the timestamp. I'm hoping the cleaner ones. I probably will try another service when I do this again and with a higher rated provider. All in all, though, I had low expectations and those low expectations were met. read more

I found Envirosmart through Yelp's project quote tool. I got 6 bids and Envirosmart was very competitive compared to others. Not the cheapest but the most comprehensive. I opted for the deep cleaning option and got lucky because they had availability within a week. Chris came by today and did an excellent job. They were running a few minutes late but informed me at the start of the arrival window. They were very respectful of our home and wore booties throughout. The service itself was very comprehensive and took over 2 hours. No upsells/subscriptions. After they were done, everything was cleaned up perfectly. My vents are now clear! Since I had such a good experience with Envirosmart 3 years ago, I thought I would give them a call and have my air ducts cleaned. The service technician arrived and she offered different packages and a membership they have available. I anticipated the upsell and politely declined. I went with the same service I had 3 years ago. They were in and out within 35ish minutes. The dryer duct and the main air filter vent was not cleaned. Last time they took about an hour, cleaned my dryer duct and the main air filter vent but not this time. They had to make changes to my thermostat which I 100% anticipated but they forgot to switch the settings back. So the rest of the afternoon I was thinking "why is it so hot in here? Is the AC not working??? They left it on "heat" at 78 deg. I'm disappointed with my experience, felt like I just threw away my hard earned money. I will not be using them again. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I contracted Envirosmart Solution to install a bathroom fan and clean the vents. They quoted over $1800 to install just one fan. I scheduled the installation more than two weeks in advance for Monday at 9am. At 4:29pm on the Friday before, they notified me they could not keep the appointment. I didn't see the message until after 5pm, when their office was already closed for the weekend. I had cut short an out-of-country trip and rearranged work meetings specifically to be home for this installation. Despite that, they cancelled at the last minute and only confirmed during the scheduled installation window that no technician would be arriving. I paid a $900 deposit in advance. They eventually refunded me after I demanded repayment and made it clear I would escalate the matter with WA Labor & Industries and small claims court. This was supposed to be a straightforward job, but their scheduling, communication, and reliability were terrible. Unprofessional, overpriced, and unreliable. I'm giving 2 stars because they eventually refunded my deposit, but I would not recommend them to anyone. read more

We've had nothing but issues with this company since we hired them over a year ago. Extremely poor communication and terrible workmanship to name a few: -They've no showed on appointments or rescheduled without telling me. -They've had to come back several times to fix something that they didn't do right the first time. -They decommissioned my old heaters before the install was done so my family was without heat. -They stepped through my ceiling and did an atrocious job patching the hole and matching the paint. I paid 100% of my original invoice after being forced to give a 50% deposit upfront. Reputable companies like Attic Pros confirmed that a deposit that high is not industry standard, but I fell for it. Two months after I paid in full, Ellie and Nicole from the office reached out claiming they made a "billing mistake" and demanded even more money. When I refused to pay for their error on a job they abandoned, they sent it to collections (APR). The attic crawlers--Aaron, Patrick, Brandon, and Roman--were beyond unprofessional. Roman stepped through my ceiling twice and then had the nerve to lie about it to my face. To make it worse, they left floor coverings unsecured, which caused my children to slip and fall requiring a trip to the doctor. They eventually abandoned the project, leaving the drywall untextured and the paint repairs unfinished. Total lack of integrity. Absolute losers. Stay far away. read more

I was pretty impressed with this team. My first rule is I won't hire someone who won't even go under the house when talking about ductwork. David went right under there and got filthy, took a lot of pictures, and didn't pressure us about anything, just left, and then sent us a quote, and patiently answered my ~10 questions. The team who came out was great, so thorough and fast, showed us pictures of everything they did. As soon as they were done, we immediately noticed a huge difference in how much AC was blasting out of our vents. The folks that installed our new furnace and heat pump a while back didn't even look at our existing vents. If I had one nitpick, it's that the information I was getting via early Yelp conversations was not accurate - the person answering there may want to run those questions by an actual installer, or at least a sales rep if they're not sure of the answer. In case these two things are on your list: they don't do Aersoeal (but after more research, we realized we didn't want it anyway) - and the contractor that does their duct cleaning doesn't use truck mounted equipment - got bad info on both of those things. But the duct cleaner who came out was fast and professional, and did a good job with the equipment he had. read more

We had someone come out to service our mini splits that kept freezing up and they were knowledgeable, timely and professional. It was fixed within ten minutes! I will say the rest of the experience has been pretty disorganized. Had to call for invoice to be sent, then was charged fee for ACH which I was told was free, then had a survey sent to me but it was not for the technician that did my service and am not receiving texts confirming appointments for jobs not at my address and nothing that I had booked. When we were looking at getting a heat pump installed, Envirosmart had a better price than other companies we were looking at so we went with them. The install went smoothly but the compressor died in 3 years so we just had to pay for a repair which cost about half of the initial install. It's unclear what caused the failure but when we got a second opinion from another company they felt the price we were quoted for the repair was fair and they did offer me a discount because of how quickly the system had failed. The technicians who have come out have been courteous and knowledgeable. Special thanks to Xavier who has come out a few times. 1 star off because communication with the office has regularly required follow up and sometimes I have been given incorrect or incomplete information. Overall I find Envirosmart a trustworthy company and would use them again. read more

Had a hard time getting into contact with these people; phone calls got dropped twice, never answered. Fortunately their web interface worked and we were able to get scheduled promptly and get the ducts cleaned. Their $200 "whole house special" didn't cover sanitizing nor another service needed so we ended up paying as much for the work actually done as had been quoted by another vendor. At least they did show up on the scheduled day - though they requested to come early, which fortunately we were able to accommodate - and got the work done within a two hour window. However, we offered them follow up work and they failed to follow up. Unlikely that we would use this vendor again; they just don't quite have their act together. read more

Though they were slow on the uptake for resolving some of our issues in the past, raising a bit of a stink was pretty effective in getting a tech out to take a look at the situation. Everyone we've talked to, whether on the phone or onsite have all been really great and helpful, but it had been difficult at times to get to the right person or get a hold of the right person to get what was needed done. It seems like a lot of recent reviews reflect that experience as well, but I'm cautiously bumping up to a 4 since my interactions since the initial issues have all been very positive. read more

Reluctantly posting a poor review, as we cannot seem to get Envirosmart to project manage effectively. We have been under contract since April for a heat pump install and electrical service upgrade. It's now September and we're just getting to the electrical work next month. Yes, dealing with Seattle City Light (SCL) is a hassle, but they just shuffled their feet and seemingly did nothing all summer and now I feel like I am the project manager instead of the other way around. For example, I have been on the phone with the SCL engineer several times to explain the project and scope of work. Their subcontractor for electrical is essentially non-responsive in emails with SCL, forcing me to keep on top of the project. To be clear, this isn't hard work, it's just frustrating because I expected this was the role of the Envirosmart, but they just don't seem to care. Maybe there will be a positive update in the future, but as it stands working with them just makes me sad, confused, and frustrated. Not a great customer experience. read more

This! These guys--ok so we just moved into a place that had three cats for two years, with tenants who didn't clean regularly. Result?! Every time the HVAC came on it smelled like cat AND we both went into allergic sneezing and itching, eyes watering--veritable hell. I shopped around here on Yelp and picked these guys based on reviews and pricing. They started by taking the vents apart and taking before pictures. It soon became obvious we needed a deep cleaning so we authorized that including sanitizing the system. The dryer vent cleaning was another $99 and it resulted in uncovering some duct work which was not up to code. After service we noticed dryer venting in the HVAC--on a warranty call they found and fixed the issue--a previous contractor had used the wrong ducting and tape. They fixed the issue up and we are good to go!!! Awesome professionalism, good communication and the work is on point. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND! I recently received notification from environment Smart, regarding an experience I had with them and I had previously given them a three star rating. I was unhappy with their duct cleaning and with the service that accompanied. It turned out that the service was not up to the expectations of their employer. Upon reading my review, I was contacted by Esther and was assured that the individual performing the work did not meet their expectations and would probably not be doing so again. She asked if they would be allowed to rectify the situation and scheduled another team to come out incomplete the job that was supposed to have been done. I agreed. I have got to say I have never been more impressed with a customer service provided by Esther and the crew that they dispatched went above and beyond what was contracted for to make sure that everything was perfect. Normally, I speak with my wallet and just do not return to a business that has previously performed in what I consider a substandard manner. In this case, I would make an exception and call them again. We all make mistakes and how this company deals with those mistakes says a lot. We had insulation installed in crawlspace by Envirosmart Solution. Our contract was for "Install new insulation using R-30 16" Batts with twine supports". When we inspected our crawl space recently we found instead metal hangers (cheaper method) was used for installation. Significant portions of the insulation had fallen down due to this We contacted the business soon after we learned of this. DIdn't get any response until I contacted them again. On 2nd call we were advised to send an e-mail with our photo of the crawlspace and original invoice. We promptly did so. We did not receive any response from the Business until I called again, 5 days later. After demanding a call back from managemnt, owner called without even having reviewed the e-mail I sent to them and having no clue what the complaint was about. He was extremely rude when I asked him to call back after reviewing the information that I had already provided. He was to call back after reviewing the e-mail but has not called back. I would not advise my worse enemy to use this company. read more

New home owner here-- and didn't know where to start for duct cleaning, and then we smelled a rat. No literally, a rat died under the duct in our kitchen (ew). Envirosmart sent Sean & Antonio and I truly cannot say enough about how professional, kind, and diligent they were. Antonio quickly and efficiently managed the duct cleaning and explained the benefits of how this can help our system over time! Turns out he used to build the ducts-- so he knows these systems inside and out. Sean tasked himself with the harder issue-- figuring out IF the rat was in the duct or under, and then getting it removed without making a mess (all while staying healthy and safe during the process). Antonio came back to support the work and they were able to pinpoint the space within an INCH (pic attached). This means not a massive hole in my drywall to deal with! Sean also took time to explain to me as a new homeowner about the furnace system we have and where I would need future maintenance without trying to do some 'hard sell'. He showed pictures of my system and others that had been cleaned so I could see the difference for future reference as well. What I appreciate most is their kindness and professionalism, they had a dirty task today with duct cleaning and rodent removal- but they both were really respectful of my home, my two dogs, and my *many* questions during the process. The critique (because let's keep it real)-- the guys arrived a little late, (because you know what life, and traffic!, happens) and if their diligence is any indication, they were CLEARLY going above and beyond at previous jobs. I would very quickly note that I was called by the main office to be told they were running behind, and I was able to manage my time accordingly. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. I hired Envirosmart Solutions to do a crawlspace cleanout that included rodent-proofing in 2021. I was initially excited to work with them but when the work started, there were several severely troubling issues. First, one of their workers openly urinated in our backyard. I showed them where our bathrooms were when they arrived but they chose to pee in our yard for some reason. We have young kids at home... this was not good. I looked past it until they broke a drainage pipe in our crawlspace. I clearly heard them talking about breaking it. When I spoke with management, they told me that there was no way to prove it was their team that caused the leak. I had looked in the crawlspace literally the day before they arrived and would have noticed a pool of sewage. Heck... their team wouldn't have even started the project if there was standing sewage right in front of the crawlspace entrance. They refused to cover the cost and I was out another $800. There were billing issues (they charged me more than we'd agreed to), but none of it compares to the fact that two years later I'm looking at another $7-10k bill to clean out the crawlspace and reinstall the insulation. Again. Because their team failed to actually do the work correctly. Having contacted their management team, they cite a technicality in their warranty language and refuse cover any of the damages. They offered to patch up their old work at cost. Not a realistic way forward considering all of the problems they caused. Just low-quality work and a very low-quality response from their team. Hire them at your own risk. I'd look elsewhere. read more

Alex, the project manager, came to visit and survey our home to determine where the outdoor condenser and indoor units would be placed. Jose was fantastic and did an excellent job cleaning and securing the crawl space. (The way we had expected the first time). Honestly, if the work performed had been done by Jose the first time we would have posted rave reviews. The owner and sales person both called to apologize and asked how to improve. They, like many businesses, are struggling to hire and train qualified candidates. The first crew was just new and not quite well enough trained. I have respect for a business who owns their mistakes, makes them right, and calls to find out how to help their staff grow. Second time using these fine folks. The first time (May '23) was some long overdue duct cleaning, washer and dryer vent cleaning, air conditioner and furnace servicing. Second time my a/c and thermostat had stopped working (a few days ago - perfect timing during this heat wave.) Both times they were prompt, professional, courteous, competent and reasonably priced. Xavier was, in particular, WONDERFUL! He found the problem with my a/c in literally under 5 minutes, fixed the blessedly simple issue and ensured everything was working as it should. Furthermore, he provided me photos so I could take them to the other company I had had in a few weeks before for other work who had caused the damage which exposed the wire and blew the fuse on my unit. Scheduled both furnace service and duct cleaning. Furnace service was thorough and informative. He forgot to put a service sticker on my furnace once he was done, so I added it myself. Duct cleaning was done the next day, and was good service, but did not include air returns, which was another $99 charge. Both supply and returns had always been included in the service with other companies, so it was much more expensive than anticipated. The techs were courteous and friendly, but one of them broke a board on my front porch sometime during the visit that I didn't discover until later, and they didn't tell me. read more
